- we are social species and we need each other
- try to limit your screen time and inject breaks into it
- go to the office, we need human connection (there is something in being between colleagues which impact us and lift us up)
- be mindful, do at least one mindful breath each day before you connect to your screen
- make time for your friends
- turn your camera on, be part of the conversation
- don't forget about the office, it's still space to connect and be creative, don't abandon it

Not really a book, but a podcast or something like that from Audible. It's an interesting listen and gives a nice insight on what an office is for and what working from home is like and also benefits and downsides of each. Nothing really revolutionary, though.

A useful little book-length listen as everyone decides how much and when they would like to work from home after the pandemic restrictions are lifted.

Some useful pointers:

Cohesion, collaboration, creativity - this is what the office involves

(Sure it’s good to save time on the commute)

Don’t be afraid to ask what productivity improvements people expect from working at home

Office politics is much, much worse when people are working from home. Be prepared for this.

Cameras on, otherwise why turn up at all. You would never turn up at a client meeting wearing a paper bag over your head.

(Ok, so that was my own thought - some behaviour just frustrates me)

Bruce Daisley narrates this interesting Audible podcast about working from home life. It covers a variety of different aspects with advice and interviews. What I particularly liked was that is also included different perspectives, from those who love working from home to those who much prefer the office. With the increasing shift to working from home or blended working following the pandemic, it is important to get your work-life balance, and your working set-up, right. This has a lot of useful tips in it, albeit a lot are those we would have already heard before, but it is good guide if you are struggling or just want to pick up some new ideas.
