Can a fierce alien dragon warrior claim his mate before she’s stolen from him forever?
Aria: Determined to overcome my scaredy-cat status, I make a dare-me checklist. First on the list? Sign up for the Driegon mail-order bride selection. I didn’t expect to be accepted or to fall for one of the Driegons—a seven-foot-tall, scaled alien with wings, claws, a tail, and a gruff voice that makes my knees go weak. But when one of my challenges results in Drace and I being captured by a rival alien clan, it’s going to take a big dash of bravery on my part to save us.
Drace: The moment I met Aria; I knew she was my fated mate. With heartspire blood roaring through my veins, I’m eager to join with her in the Torrent. But we’re captured and taken to a secret encampment far from the subterranean Driegon kingdom. There, I’m forced to battle for my life in a combat ritual older than time. If I win, we are free to leave. And if I lose? Death for me and another warrior will claim Aria as his bride.
Drace is Book 2 in the Brides of Driegon Series. This standalone, full-length romance has on-the-page heat, aliens who look and act alien, a guaranteed happily ever after, no cheating, and no cliffhanger. Look for the rest of the series on Amazon.
AVA ROSS fell for men with unusual features when she first watched Star Wars, where alien creatures have gone mainstream. She lives in New England with her husband (who is sadly not an alien, though he is still cute in his own way), her kids, and assorted pets, including a yorkie pup and three cats.
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💙🖤💜💚💖 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍 Character development: 😠😘🤓🥰 Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine:Aria - She came to be the bride of a Dreigon, though she is an introvert, she is shy and suffers from social anxiety disorder because of how she was treated by her mother while growing up. She knew from the start that she was interested in Drace, but every time he approaches her, she gets scared and runs away.
The Hero:Drace - Drace wanted no other but Aria, but thought she was repulsed by him when he reached out to touch her hand and she fled. He followed her and found her talking to herself, actually practicing talking to him. From that point, he knew he would wait, no matter how long it took for her to get up the nerve to actually say those things to him.
The Story: Drace was the leader of the King’s Elite Guard and was in charge of protecting the castle and its inhabitants. Aria has this list of dares that she is trying to accomplish to get back to the person she used to be before her mother kidnapped her and made her afraid to touch people. Drace hears something, and finds Aria diving into the river, though she doesn’t realize there are dangerous creatures in the water. They end up going over a waterfall and she has to touch him to save him.
The story gets pretty good when they end up kidnapped by a rival tribe who have a shortage of women and want Aria as a breeder. The action gets interesting and the two of them are stuck together trying to save themselves. I like how they get to know each other and help each other through their issues.
This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Tawnia Murray. Teddy is one of my favorite male narrators, with a deep sexy voice and he is great at showing emotion through his voice. Tawnia has a clear voice which worked well in this book also.
It's Drace's turn to hit that Torrent and his special lady friend is...a little timid. Aria has her reasons for being this way, mind you, but it does present a teeny-tiny stumbling block when the lady one is interested in doesn't like touching or being touched. But Drace is patient and sweet and Aria's well worth the wait.
That said, Aria's solution to her touch-aversion is to step out of her comfort zone. Which is not a bad idea, exactly, but it does put the two of them in an unexpectedly dangerous situation. As in, they end up prisoners of one of the outlying clans. Aria has to dig deep to find her strength and work with Drace as he tries to get them to safety. (Their sojourn to the wilds, however, does answer a few questions Drace has and that's definitely a good thing!)
Drace was not what I was expecting at all. He got his ass handed to him a little too often for me liking. Leaving Aria "the scaredy cat" to come to his rescue more than once.
Not really a storyline I was expecting, so not a fav for me.
I really loved Aria, but she confused the hell out of me. Now that I know why she was the way she was I’m confuzzled about one thing. Makes makes a comment about how’s she’s been with plenty of men.... was this before her trauma? Also, I’m wondering how old was she when she went through her traumatic incident. I don’t recall the author mentioning it unless I missed it. 🤔. She also mentions that she talks dirty during sex and has a dirty mind which she kind of did but that brings me back to this timid standoffish person that couldn’t be touched. She did mention that before her incident she was a hugger and very affectionate person so I don’t know. Once I kind of found out what her issue was I did give her some slack because of what happened to her. But what upset me was her lack of intelligence that led them to their grand predicament... I mean naturally in the end it worked out between them and Drace learned and gained so much. The one thing I wish the author did that she didn’t do was tidy things up better with Drace and the Zisten. None of that was taken care of. It’s a total loose end. I mean the guys there were seen as evil almost rapists who didn’t care that a woman had started the torrent with another. There’s a giant gap that was left unspoken as to relations between him and the rest of the people of the village. Also I am so glad Aria took matters into her own hands and tidied up her own loose ends. All I will say on that matter. I almost shouted for joy when she did what she did. 🤫🤭🤐. She did a better job than the Elite Guard. I’m also wondering the fate of Rufio. I kind of wish she took the critter with her. I’m hoping we have a more normal book but I don’t think that will be in the cards. I think each book will be much of the same. I kinda want to see more couple based stuff and less drama and hyped up action. It takes away from the story. But this is just my opinion. I’m still confused as to why the other women haven’t made their move and touched Rashe and Teran yet. I’m still so boggled over that. Anyways, I still have this one 5 stars. It was borderline for me though. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Aria has been struggling with her fears ever since her mom kidnapped her. She especially fears being touched.. She's been in therapy but her dad's advice is the thing that has helped her the most. He told her making a list of dares and then carry through on them, she could overcome her fears. She would start with simple dares and then get progressively harder. One of her biggest dares was to become an alien's mail-order bride. Coming to a new planet has triggered a lot of her fears again. When she meets Drace, she is very attracted to him but her fear has her stammering and running away. She knows that Driegans require a touch to test the compatibility of mates. She would love to test if she and Drace are meant to be but her fears keep her incoherent and running away.
Drace know the minute he saw Aria, that they could be fated mates but Aria is very skittish. They closer he tries to get, the more she runs. Drace is about ready to give up on Aria thinking that she didn't like him. Then he follows her as she runs away. He finds her in an empty room practicing things to talk to him about. She reveals that she likes him but her past and her fears make it a big struggle. Once Drace knows the truth, he is ready to give Aria all the time she needs to gather her courage. Too bad her list of dares get them both in deep trouble.

Well, before you start with the 2nd book like me maybe you should read the first book of the series or the other series to get a better understanding of Driegon's males. Or maybe i'm just dense. But, I thought the plot was good and kinda wanted to shake Aria in the beginning with her indecisiviness. But she redemed herself half way through the book.
Anyways, from the blurb, Aria is a scaredie cat and is wanting prove to others she is brave she makes a dare list that she must do. Nothing to over the top, just something she can push herself out of her comfort zone. She signs up as brides to be to Driegon Males. Once she touches the Driegon Male they will know instantly if fated mates and their heartspires will ignite.
Once Drace meets Aria he knew she is the one for him, he just needed to touch her. But she eludes his touch. Making him think she does not like him because of his appearance. But, on3 of Aria's dares endangers them both. Can they get out of this mess together? Who is out there trying to stop them? Is there more than one alien or person trying to stop them? You have to read to find out.
If you like action and a little bit of a slow burn, you will definitely like this book.

Aria has lost her nerve and is easily frightened. She wants to push herself to show that she can be brave. She makes a “dare-me checklist” (which sounds like a very foolish thing to me) and will complete those tasks which push her out of her comfort zone.
So when Aria agrees to be an alien’s bride, the Driegon Male will have a reaction to indicate whether they are fated mates or not. Although Drace knew she was his, he had to touch her, which she steadfastly avoided. (Again, very foolish and makes no sense.) With his insecurity, he thought she objected to something about him, which was not the case. Her list could get them into trouble, and I don’t think it’s proving much about her bravery either. When she is grabbed by Brunjar and Drace must fight him, will Drace be able save her (even when she ignores him telling her to run because she doesn’t want to be a coward)?
I guess it’s easy to see that I didn’t like that dare-me checklist. Once she writes her task on paper, common sense goes out the window. It put her in more danger than if she just found a better way to face her fears. But anyway, I did enjoy the story line. Will they get their HEA? Grab your copy and see how the fight turns out!
Ya’ll, I am loving this series so much! There is so much romance, courting, flirting, and thanks to alien language translators, a good bit of humor from getting wires crossed when trying to get to know each other. The great thing is that there is also action, alien political intrigue, and a wide variety of alien creatures that will either eat you or aid you lol. This story is about Aria and Drace (big sigh). Aria has trauma in her past that she is working through, part of which has led her to be a potential Driegon bride. She knows Drace is who she wants, but things end up happening that lead them down a dangerous path. As for Drace, he is willing to be patient and give Aria the time she needs, but the choice is taken out of his hands. A lot of things are hitting them from all sides to try to tear them apart, right when they finally get to a point where they are in the Torrent. Will their love get the chance to flourish, or will their bond be broken just as it is formed? Read this amazing book set in the Driegon underground kingdom, and brought to stunning life, along with vivid and engaging characters!

Folyamatosan küzd a saját kis démonaival, bátorság próbákat hajt végre. Tetszik neki Drace, szeretne vele beszélgetni is, de fél.
Krapekunk a király testőrségének a feje, a legmagasabb rangú katona.
Ok a different read for me. I found Aria to be troublesome with a bite to her. Yes she is scared of EVERYTHING, which at first made no sense to me. Delving further it starts to make a bit of sense but still with her triggers she is resourceful. It makes sense that Drace is a fighter. With everything he has encountered and been through it makes sense, but what I had a hard time following was the fact that even with Arias list she still has yet to allow him to touch her. You know she is driven to overcome the threats she feels but yet does not instinctively try to over come those issues with Drace. I found this book to be written well and had a very even flow to it. It thought that learning more about Aria I would be able to feel what she was feeling but I was left bereft in the fact I just could not understand fully all that she felt. I was better equipped to understand Drace more. Very interesting and in depth with the world building . Honestly a good story to delve into if you have read this series from the beginning!

This second book in this series is about Aria and Drace. Aria is a human from Earth who has come to the Driegon Kingdom as part of an experimental program to see if humans can successfully meet and form a marriage with Driegon men. Drace is the head of the Kingdom’s Elite Guard and is drawn to Aria. However, due to events in Aria’s past, she is afraid to touch him.
Aria has a list of challenges she has set for herself to overcome her past. One night, Drace watches as Aris rappells down the castle wall. Afterwards, she strips to her bikini and dives off the bridge into the river. Drace knows there are creatures in the river who could kill her, so he goes after her. But with Aria not allowing him to touch her, he doesn’t know how to save her from the raging current.
This was a well written adventure that you need to read yourself to find out what happens next, because I’m not giving away any spoilers. I really enjoyed this book with its fabulous world building and character development. Nice job, Ms. Ross! I’m looking forward to the next one in this series!
This is the story of Drace and Aria and is the second in the series. Drace knows that Aria is his mate even without touching her which would spark his fire but she keeps running away from him. His past causes him to feel that she is right and that he is unworthy of her. It turns out though that Aria also has to deal with some significant maltreatment in her past before she can embrace being with Drace, which she desperately wants. In order to help her cope day to day she sets herself challenges and one of them goes wrong. Can they both move beyond the hurt in their past to see each other properly and be mates? I have to say I loved all the characters and the fact that all the stories seem to intertwine. They are not just about the main couple and you glean lots of little bits from the others, whose own stories I cannot wait to read. You do not need to have read the other story to fully enjoy this one, I haven't but I so enjoyed it that I now want to read how it all started.

Aria's trauma was traumatic, but short lived at least, so while it had the expected traumatic impact on her, she holds optimistic hope that she can change some of it. She's got a solid plan, but her plan could be interpreted as an attempt to overcome her trauma or an attempt to run away from it. Since it ends up popping up again on a new planet, running from it isn't much of an option. Some of the physical aspects of plan to return to her old self come easily enough on her own. But the emotional aspects are much harder - only someone being in danger can shock her out of it. Drace's story was a heartwarming one; it's not necessarily a cliche where everything falls into place, but one where he makes a big discovery (that will also come in handy later) that can connect him with his past.
I think my favorite part about this world isn't just the symbiotic nature of the living beings, but the fact that the earth ladies are still able to surprise everyone by befriending one of these creatures.
Aria experienced a horrific event in her past that has left her afraid of everything. Drace was a street orphan that managed to get to a top position in the king's guard but still has the feeling that he is not worthy of a mate.
Spoiler alert: Drace is convinced that Aria can not stand him since she will barley say a word to him and will not touch him; little does he know that she is as drawn to him as he is her. He is about to give up trying to win her when he hears her talking to herself about him. Things have never been easy for either of them and they will continue to be a challenge when she is kidnapped and he is forced into a fight to the death for her. After winning the fight things take a unlikely turn that he would have never expected. Throughout their troubles Aria overcomes her fears to find her happily ever after with Dace.

4.5 stars! Drace is book two in Ava Ross' new Brides of Driegon series and I have to say that I think it is her best book yet. It has the Ava trademarks of a hot, sexy, sweet Alien, a fiesty, strong earth girl, loads of action and lots of weird alien creatures. BUT, more importantly, this book has more heat! Wooh, the heat level sure rose in this book! It is a slow burn so you have to wait for it, but that is no chore as the build up and relationship development is so entertaining and engaging, and there is so much action that there is never a dull moment. I'm loving the direction Ava is taking in this series and each book is just getting better and better. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. If you love alien romance give Ava Ross' books a chance, you won't be disappointed.
With so many sights, sounds, textures and rich descriptions it felt like I was right there. A simple life on an alien world full of dangers and even more very attractive potential mates- what earth girl wouldn’t sign up for that? I really enjoyed the backstory that Aria and Drace brought to the plot. Their dark pasts and persistent self doubts just made them both easy to relate to on so many levels. The fun banter and misunderstandings around words and earth slang phrases also made me smile. I really enjoyed the direction this book took and anxiously look forward to the next one. By the way, the optional bonus epilogue (thank you Ava) was a real treat!

If you love dragon shifters, this is a must read series for you! This is the second book in Ava Ross’s series the Brides of Driegon and it is just as refreshing as the first. The kings elite guard has caught the end of some Earth females and let the excitement begin! Drace, is an orphan with baggage of abandonment issues. Aria is the Earth female who, despite her own family tragedies, faces her fears to become the strong woman she once was. I loved the practicing scene the best and reread it several times because who has not done that! You don’t need to follow this series in order but you will get more enjoyment if you do. Kruze is the prequel to this series and is free if you sign up for Ava’s newsletter. Download and enjoy readers! It’s worth every penny!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hot alien dragon meets human female afraid of everything after ordeal
Written for mature readers only (18+ years old) due to subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes and violence such as kidnapping, torture, fighting, etc.
This is the second story in the spin off series, and while it could probably be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend it be read in series order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are reoccurring characters and an overall storyline arc.
Fast paced PNR, loaded with action, and well defined characters. Loved Drace and his patience with his fated mate ... plus who knew she could be so demanding!
This story deals with so many emotions. Humor, fear and rediscovering strength all wrapped up in a great love story. Drace, head of the King's elite guard, is sure that Aria is his mate. Horns don't lie. Once happy and adventurous, after a trauma, Aria is a scaredy-cat, especially about touching. She has made a list of dares, trying to rebuild her inner strength. She likes Drace but cannot bring herself to take his hand to find out if they feel the Torrent. As she works on her dares, she makes a mistake. She and Drace end up in a dangerous situation. Can they save themselves and each other? I will be reading the other books in this series!

Drace and Aria meet as she is combating her fears of touch and others, brought on by her upbringing with the mother. Drace know she is his mate but touch will tell for sure. Aria is trying but paranoia sets in and she runs. He finds her and overhears that she does have feelings for him so he gives her time to calm and adjust. The characters are terrific, with so much feeling and emotion. The romance hits a few skids, like being taken by enemies. Suspense and twists to the storyline will keep you at the edge of your seat. Loved the ending and how it all comes together. Looking forward to more by this author.

Ava Ross has been a must read author of mine for some time and this book only reinforces that decision. Ms. Ross has a way of grabbing onto her readers with her amazing storytelling and world building. Her characters are so delightful that you can't help cheer for their happily ever after. Drace and Aria's story is one of learning to survive a tragedy in your life but determined to continue and be stronger than ever. This book has everything that you could want; comedy, action, drama, danger and hot romance. This is the 2nd book in the Brides of Driegon series and you don't want to miss this one or any of the others in this series.

This book wasn't as good as book one in my opinion but I still really enjoyed reading it. Aria is pretty much scared of everything. She used to be strong and courageous until she was kidnapped. Now she is trying to do things to become herself again, including signing up to find a mate on a different planet. She makes a "List of Dares" that progressively get harder in order to feel brave. When she and Drace meet they both have feelings for the other. He believes that she is his torrent mate because of the physical signs that appear. The only problem is that she can't stand touch from anyone. Without touching they can't start the Torrent. Then something happens and they get taken by an enemy. Will they survive?
Aria signed up for the mail order brides program to Driegon, even though she has difficulty in being touched. Drace grew up on the streets, he’s sure one of the human brides wouldn’t want him, but he’s immediately drawn to Aria.
This exciting sci-fi romance, features a couple who have all kinds of odds to overcome. There is romance and plenty of action, plus a fight or two! An enjoyable trip back into the Driegon world. Recommended for those who enjoy sci-fi romance.
Note: this is book two of a series, and the third story set in the Driegon caverns. Loosely related to the Crakair series, it can be read as a standalone, but works best if you read as part of the Driegon series.
"Each event was a chance to discover if one of the kingdom’s bachelor Driegons could strike a spark—literally—inside us."
Aria is so much more than the wounded woman those who recently met her have come to know, before she was hurt she was another person -- and she's determined to reclaim the parts of herself she misses most.
Drace has come a long way since his childhood, running wild on the city streets. Life is about to help him discover what matters most to him, and that strength and courage come in many forms.
Aria is a remarkable character with a compassionate heart. As the story progresses she shoes the power of empathy, compassion and understanding as she works at being the person she wants to be, despite the pain she has suffered.
Aria feels she has become a scaredy-cat. Determined to overcome her fears she makes a dare-me checklist. to build confidence in herself. One of her dares is to sign up as a bride for a Driegon Male. Drace knew Aria was his fated mate the moment he met her. He’s eager to join with her in the Torrent but Aria cannot bring herself to touch him. This is the second book in this great series. I think I like this series over the original series. I like the characters, the twists and turns and the world building in this story.

Aria had a circumstance happen to her and has become afraid, some call her chicken or a scaredy-cat. She's doing her best to become braver and to tackle circumstances with optimism. She makes a dare-me list to build confidence Drace, is one of the kings elite guards, has baggage of his own but when he sees Aria he falls for the little human. I love how encouraged he feels after finding Aria giving herself some advise out loud. There is so much more going on in this story besides Aria becoming braver but I'll let you read this and find out yourself. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Unique dragon cave dwellers totally clueless and vulnerable human females and a fool proof method to select the perfect mate.
Could spare the time to review sooner as too caught up in the unique storylines and picture painting descriptions of characters, plants, animals and insects. Ms. Ross has a nack of taking unexpected reactions to new heights. Might want to have an alarm timer handy. Just 5 minutes more rarely ended up 5 minutes. I think you too will be astounded at the "financial" system in place and how it even includes plant and animals. I hope you give one of her books in this series a try. I think you will be pleasantly entertained.
