She's looking for happily-ever-after. He can’t touch her. But with her life at stake, he'll sacrifice everything to protect her.
Kristy: Chosen for the Driegon bride selection, I’m confident I’ll meet the alien of my dreams. I don’t expect to find true love, but it would be nice to find someone special. Three weeks into the program, I’m falling hard for Rashe, a guy who sadly doesn’t notice I exist. Forget happily-ever-after. At this point, I’d settle for friends with benefits. But when someone tries to kill me, Rashe becomes my knight in shining…scales. Can we discover who the villain is before I wind up dead?
Rashe: Kristy is everything I could ever hope for in a mate but touching her will trigger the Torrent—an ancient Driegon mating ritual—and will result in my death. Instead of claiming her, I’ll long for her from afar and ensure she’s matched with someone who can give her the love she deserves. But with someone out to kill her, I’ll risk even my own life to protect her.
RASHE is Book 3 in the Brides of Driegon Series. This standalone, full-length romance has on-the-page heat, aliens who look and act alien, a guaranteed happily ever after, no cheating, and no cliffhanger. Look for the rest of the series on Amazon.
AVA ROSS fell for men with unusual features when she first watched Star Wars, where alien creatures have gone mainstream. She lives in New England with her husband (who is sadly not an alien, though he is still cute in his own way), her kids, and assorted pets, including a yorkie pup and three cats.
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💚💜💙🩷 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Chemistry: 🧪🧪🧪🧪 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏 Character development: 😒🤩😀🙂 Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration type: Dual Narration
The heroine:Kristy - when the plague that killed most of the females in the kingdom of Dreigon also killed the majority of the males on Earth, the King of Dreigon found that the dreigon’s and humans of Earth are compatible and can form Torrent bonds. They set up a strategic alliance with Earth for mail order brides. Kristy was a marine biologist, who loves reading alien romance. She has high hopes for the program and really wants to find someone she can have a nice life with or at the very least, find someone to spend some sexy time with.
The Hero:Rashe - Rashe is a member of the King's Elite Guard. He holds a belief that he is cursed, fearing that if the Torrent bond is activated within him, it will result in his demise. Consequently, he has resolved not to seek a mate. Upon encountering Kristy, he experiences an immediate attraction toward her but remains convinced that he cannot pursue a relationship with her. Therefore, he chooses to observe her from a distance and endeavors to assist her in finding a suitable partner.
The Story: There are people in the kingdom who don’t like the fact that human females are marrying Dreigon males. When one of those people tries to kill Kristy while she is diving in the moat, looking at the fish and creatures under the water, Rashe is the one that finds her and saves her. He is then assigned to guard her. The two get to know each other more over the next few days. Rashe loves Kristy’s sense of adventure and her joy of life. Kristy has been yearning for Rashe and dreaming about him, and she can’t understand why he refuses to touch her to see if the Torrent bond forms.
I like the aspect of the curse and there is also this old Driegon woman who is said to have magic and see the future. The lady goes around saying cryptic things like a quest must be undertaken to restore peace to Driegon and uniting the kingdom by fixing her windrus stick (like her magic wand), the stone at the top of the stick was destroyed long ago. She also said that it wouldn’t be Kristy or Rashe that would go on the quest. It was all very ambiguous and mysterious.
This setup layered with romance, tension, political intrigue, and an air of mystery that keeps things dynamic. The curse element gives Rashe a strong emotional hook, while Kristy’s adventurous spirit makes her a compelling heroine who isn’t just waiting around for things to happen. The political conflict over human-Dreigon marriages adds another layer, giving the stakes real weight beyond just the romance.
The old Dreigon woman and her cryptic prophecies are such a great touch. It makes the world feel lived-in, like there’s a deeper history tied to this kingdom that Kristy is stepping into. And the idea that neither of them will go on the quest—very intriguing! It raises questions about who will, why the windrus stick matters, and how it connects to Rashe and Kristy’s personal journeys.
This audiobook was narrated from multiple perspectives, done in dual narration by Teddy Hamilton and Tawnia Murray. Teddy Hamilton is one of my favorite male narrators and he always does a terrific job. He is one of my go-to narrators. Tawnia Murray is not one of my favorites, though she is not bad and has a pleasant voice.
Sighs, I’m seeing a huge pattern here. This book had yet more amazing wild beasts chasing them from many different species of wildlife. Many unanswered problems and holes in the story. Okay, let’s strap in. They went exploring in the dungeon that’s not a dungeon. Fought a rare beast... we learned the ELITE GUARD does not go around armed with swords in the castle.... but I find this not only odd but very stupid. You’re ELITE.... not only are you the kings personal guard you’re now the human brides guard. You’re like DEVGRU, Team Six of the guards. You’re supposed to be the baddest of the bad. The most hardened well equipped guards. Each one equalling a squad of men. Yet we’ve learned they let people slip by, they get snuck up on and beat up, they suck at hand to hand, they are not prepared, they don’t wear weapons and the females seem to have a better sixth sense than them. Many occasions the women have sensed them being watched and the warriors see nothing at all. Rashe like an idiot blabs his plan to Teran in front of the world without thinking that potential enemies could be listening in... he gets overpowered by old men and beat up way too easily, different beasts for some reason will team up with each other just to kill them. You’d think they would kill anything in their way including other predators not forming a coalition to eradicate the dragon man and his mate 🤣😂. Why don’t they have the death penalty? This guy was trying to kidnap and or kill the human brides. His punishment was to live in the mountains and wear a ankle bracelet to snitch on him if he breaks the law. It will just tattle on him. It’s already known he has no honor and doesn’t care. Why on earth would wearing a mentor or whatever it was called matter to him? 🤦🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️. I am truly happy for Jenna and the V-man though. That brought a huge smile to my face. I would have loved if the author touched on that a little bit more. Also the end of the book was quite nice seeing them all together and the update was beautiful. I kind of wanted to hear what the aunt thought after truths were revealed. This one was 3 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️. I’m going into Teran with an open mind but I have a feeling we will be seeing impossible battles and chases etc. We shall see.
Kristy is one of the last two human brides who haven't found a torrent mate on Driegon. She is majorly attracted to Rashe but keeps his distance. He comes to all the dating events but he won't touch Kristy to find out if they are mates. In her free time Kristy is doing some exploring on her own. On Earth, she was a marine biologist and she has decided to explore the marine life in the moat around the castle. She is having fun until she finds her foot trapped in the rocks. She is stuck 30 feet under water and when she sees a figure on the bridge, the Driegon catches her breathing apparatus instead of rescuing her. Luckily for her Rashe comes along quickly and frees her without touching her. Now that there has been an attempt on her life, Rashe is becoming her full-time bodyguard. Kristy is happy because now she has a chance to get closer to him. Too bad Rashe seems determined to keep her at a distance. Kristy is wondering if she should settle for less than a torrent mate.
Rashe knows Kristy would be his Torrent mate because he has all the symptoms. He is keeping his distance because of a curse. Six generations ago his family did something bad and a magic user cursed their family. The second son of each generation will die one month after a full mating. Rashe is the second son and his whole family is trying to keep him safe. Rashe knows he should keep away from Kristy but his dragon is insisting that they risk everything for their Torrent mate. When there is an attempt on Kristy's life, he can't keep his distance and leave her protection to someone else. Kristy leads him on a merry chase because she is upset he won't touch her. Rashe will not tell her about the curse. Can Rashe choose between his love and his life?

Kristy was one of the brides that had come to to the planet Driegon to find a husband. Rashe was her bodyguard and he realized he was her fated mate but that they could never be together because he was the second son and all the second son’s in his family were cursed. If he was to Torrent with any woman he would die.
Kristy a marine biologist back on earth fell hard for Rashe and told him she wanted him but he did everything he could to keep from Torrenting with her. One day while exploring the moat around the castle someone made an attempt on her life. Rashe was there to rescue her.
She had found a mysterious door while exploring the moat and another day convinced Rashe to to follow her through the door which she was sure led to more levels beneath the castle. It did but they encountered a large worm like creature which got a hold of Kristy so it could take her back to her lair and feed her to its young. Rashe to the rescue again.
Kristy was then kidnapped from her bed. Rashe with the help of Zigor, the wooferine, tracked her down and rescued Kristy but Teran, his brother, had to fly her home because Rashe could not or the Torrent would begin and he would die.
All hope was not lost for our star crossed lovers. There was a way to break the curse if only Rashe could figure it out before someone killed Kristy or his willpower to hold out against the Torrent gave out. This story does have a happy ending but it is surprising

Wow! Seriously wow! Ava Ross sure has brought her A-game in Rashe; the latest in the Brides of Driegon series. This is definitely Ava’s best book to date.
Rashe and Kristy are so sweet and sexy, and their story was worth all my curious waiting. The suspenseful angst and longing that built during each exciting development really pulled at my heart strings. I was *dying* for them to touch! The longing… argghhh! Bring on the Torrent!!
Ava’s world-building is also incredible. The imagination that goes into these books is truly outstanding. You can tell Ava is a Star Wars fan. The weird and wonderful creatures, landscape, language, comparisons – it all helps the reader immerse themselves into another world.
As always, there was loads of action. There was something happening every minute and I just HAD to know what happened next. This book was practically impossible to put down.
I also enjoy the glimpses into the lives of couples that we have grown to know and love. Now I just have to hope that in Teran’s book we find out if earthlings give birth the cleches or not.
This series is highly recommended to lovers of romance, sci-fi, aliens or just want a great read for some escapism. I can’t wait to see where Ava takes us next.
I was so excited to finally find out WHY in the world Rashe & Tehran both were avoiding the Torrent with Kristy & Emma! I was tickled pink reading the scenes with Miska, cause that old lady is hilarious 🤣 Man these books would make awesome movies 😜 Back to Rashe & Kristy’s whirlwind of a book. There was so much action & danger, and it all helped pull the storyline closer & closer to it’s dramatic ending, but it didn’t take away from the romance & love these 2 didn’t think could happen. There was also a beautiful deeper moral to the storyline that I truly appreciated. To live life only to survive is not our purpose....we can not truly survive day by day without truly living the life we have. Never waste one moment, because you never know when those moments will be gone ✨ With this series as a whole, I also really love that there is an overlying storyline that started in Malac & Bella’s book. I’m looking forward to its conclusion (maybe?) in the next book; even though I’m really hoping for more human brides for more Driegons! I love these characters ❤️ PS✨ Just knowing that Emma’s middle name is Indiana, “the only guy I’ve ever loved”, let’s me know I’m gonna be so entertained by her & Teran....I can’t wait!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I really adore Ava Ross and all her books they are ultimately filled with hot Alpha warriors and sassy fun, intelligent human women that love them. Kristy is the female lead in this story. She has an adventurous soul and a bone deep attraction to her shy gorgeous Driegon Rashe. She's a marine biologist and loves to be under the water and wants to explore her new home. Even if that exploration drive her Driegon crazy with worry. Rashe is convinced that his family lays under a curse that will bring his death if he torrents with the one human woman he can't deny owns his heart. Kristy. It is becoming more painful to avoid her hoping that he can keep the torrent at bay knowing it spellbound doom. What he doesn't count on is someone trying to kill his beloved. Rashe just face his families history, and save his beloved if he and Kristy are to be together forever! Fabulous story and the ends sets us up perfectly for his brothers story coming soon! I can't wait 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
I loved this book. It was so sweet!! Rashe was so noble, knowing his issues might cause even deeper problems for Kristy, he held out as long as he could so they didn't Torrent together. And Kristy was such a trooper, lusting from afar and praying for a miracle. If you like tortured lovers, secret enemies, feisty human females and hunky aliens this is the book for you. Amazing world building; I can';t get enough of the different bargains the Driegons have with the life on their planet, it's imaginative and totally different from any alien romance I have read. And it is not just the worldbuilding; the characters are numerous, well developed and engaging. They all feel like friends and each book is like catching up at a reunion. There is nothing Ava Ross can write that I will not buy even if I am lucky enough to get an ARC. She totally leads my library of favorites.

One touch and Rashe and Kristy will know if everything they've come to feel about one another is because they are fated mates or... or they aren't fated, which would be an enormous let down for each of them.
As brave as each character is shown to be, Kristy scuba diving on an Alien world, Rashe a member of his King's elite guard, some things sound simple and yet are scarier than risking life and limb.
As the story unfolds we discover there is more going on than we realize, and it doesn't help that there are natives who don't want the humans here... but Kristy and Rashe each come to find who they want to be, and how they want to live their lives, sharing some important lessons with readers along the way.
This done in one Kindle unlimited book is definitely setting up Teran's story, and I am looking forward to his adventure with Emma.
I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is the first book that I am reading in the Brides of Driegon series. I thought that Rashe and Kristy had love story full of longing, hope and denial. Kristy is sure that he is her torrent mate but he will not even consider it. It hurts her but she does not give up on him. Rashe knows that she is his torrent mate but he cannot claim her. A curse upon his family has fallen on his shoulders. When she is in danger he must protect her at all cost even if it is his life. I thought that this was a sweet romance of emotional pushes and pulls between them. I plan on going back to read the first two books in the series. Even so, I had no trouble enjoying this one

I really liked this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable. I really want a rescern of my own! The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. I really wanted to know how Rashe's Aunt Letician and Uncle Hodde reacted to the news about Ettok's family's actions over the years. Rashe and Kristy were meant to be but Rashe was fighting it as he had information that she didn't. Kristy wanted to be with Rashe but as soon as she found out why he was resisting she was determined to help him keep resisting. Looking for a way that they could be together took consulting an outside source for help. Rashe was super thoughtful with how he arranged things for Kristy. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

Okay. Rashe and Kristy. She has a hankering for the sweet guardsman, he tries to pretend she doesn't exist. FOR REASONS. Good reasons, as it turns out, but even the best reasons can't compete against the Torrent and all it takes is one touch and these two have the hots for one another. (Honestly, they had the hots before, but they worked on avoiding and pretending and all that stuff. Until, you know, they couldn't avoid or pretend any longer.
Anywho. Rashe really does have his reasons for keeping Kristy at arm's length. But with someone gunning for her, he can't force himself to leave her safety in the hands of another. And thus, they Torrent. And then they have to figure out how to make things work after.
Kristy is a member of the Driegon bride selection, and has not found anyone to ‘Torrent” with yet. She thinks she is falling hard for Rashe, but he avoids touching her. When someone tries to kill Kristy, Rashe has to find a way to protect her without touching her. Rashe feels the beginnings of the Torrent when he is around Kristy. He cannot touch for rear of triggering the Torrent as he is under a curse that will result in his death one month after the Torrent begins. This is Book 3 in the Brides of Driegon Series. You don’t need to read this series in order but you will get more enjoyment if you do. Action, danger, hot romance and twists to the storyline will keep you interested.

Absolutely loved reading Rashe and Kristy’s story. They don’t half go through a lot, from kidnappings to outright murder attempts on Kristy’s life. Rashe is determined not to torrent with Kristy as his family is cursed, if he does he will die. He’s got to protect his mate though and is hopeful of finding a way to break the curse. Miska tells them it won’t be them who breaks it. Could it be the one other bride that’s not torrented with anyone? Who knows. They need to focus on keeping them alive if they are going to torrent with anyone. This book has lots of action, giant alien snakes *shudder* steamy scenes and maybe even a torrent.

I absolutely loved Rashe. He is so gentle and accepting of his fate despite what it must cost him to be so close to the one who he knows is his mate, knowing he cannot be with her. Kristy is so relatable, the kind of person you would want as your friend and you can really get the sense that she knows something is holding Rashe back and how sad she is over it. How hard she tries to honour his wishes as well when she knows why. Will it all be in vain though? I especially love the symbotic relationship that the Driegon have with the animals who inhabit their world. The descriptions of the places and creatures are always a great new discovery.

I love how Kristy teases Rashe. You can totally feel I love how Kristy teases Rashe. You can totally feel the tension between them as he continues to believe he can resist the Torrent... but he must not touch her! Yeah, like that is even possible, with Kristy becoming ever more determined to learn why Rashe wont try with her. And Rashe is struggling even more as he fights himself. He will literally do anything to protect her from his curse. She his mate, the only one in the universe that makes him complete but he will walk away to keep her safe.... but the universe has other plans. Not all are good but.... eventually chocolate makes everything better. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kristy is chosen for the Driegon bride selection. She met Rashe and definitely felt something for him, but he kind of ignores her and acts disinterested. If he would touch her, they could see if they were mates by whether the Torrent started. Rashe, however, already is aware that Kristy is his mate. But because of a family curse, touching her will trigger the Torrent mating ritual and will result in his death.
But when someone tries to kill Kristy, Rashe can no longer keep his distance. He would have given her up to another to find love she deserves, but with this threat, he has to protect her at all costs -- even if that cost is his own death. Can they find out who is after her?
another fantastic book in this series this one features rashe someone who desperately wants to torrent and find his true love and he has but an old family curse prevents him from claiming kristy who is everything he dreams of. kirsty tries to understand once she learns of the curse but the attempts on her life push them together touching at last but trying not to complete the torrent. wonderful detail in characters places and happenings, lots of drama excitement action this book is loaded with everything needed to keep u enthralled to the last page. I highly recommend adding this book to your reading library. it's very worth reading the entire series.
I received an arc copy of this book and this is my honest voluntary review.
This story has a multitude of hope going for this story. Not only are you looking, reading, preparing for an absolute riveting tale of hope, love, and a remarkable story that is told from different perspectives. Ava has done a fantastic job of giving history and story to these characters. It flows smoothly and gives the reader a bit of everything within these pages. The world building is extensive and visually appealing. The characters are full and vibrant. I really enjoyed this book. It has multiple dimensions that offer a variety for the avid reader such as myself. I can not wait for more from this series and this world!

This 3rd book in the Brides of Driegon Series is about Kristy, an Earth woman, and Rashe, a warrior of Driegon in the King’s Elite Guard. Rashe, as the second son in his family, believes he is under a curse where he will die within 30 days if he “Torrents” with Kristy. As a result, he has refused to touch her or allow her to touch him. Mista, an elder of a Zoad tribe who wields the “Windra” stick has told him that she will suspend the curse if his brother Teran will search for a new stone for the Windra. If he’s successful, she can lift the curse altogether.
Read this fun story to see how Kristy and Rashe finally get together. The story is really well told, with just the right amount of steam. I loved it!
This whole series is fantastic. This is another great story filled with action, adventure, danger, and romance. Rashe has it bad for Kristy but feels like she should find someone else to have a Torrent with as he's got a curse hanging over his head. Kristy really wants to have Rashe but he is avoiding touching her. Then there is someone trying to kill Kristy and Rashe is ready to defend her to the death. These two have great chemistry together. Will they find out who's trying to harm Kristy? Will she an Rashe get their HEA? Next story please. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed the story. Kristy is looking for true love and is selected for the Driegan Bride program. She has found the alien for her but he won't have anything to do with her and she is disappointed and not sure what to do. Rashe wants Kristy and is afraid to touch her and trigger the mating ritual because it will cause his death. He is cursed. Everyone around them except his brother is trying to keep them apart and someone is going as far as trying to kill Kristy to keep them apart. The truth about the curse is far worse than they realize.

Kristy is both open about her interested in Rashe, but respectful to not want to proceed with seeing if they are a match without his 100% consent. And when there are threats against her life, he can't help but insist on being her almost-24/7 body guard (after a bit of prodding, maybe). This puts him in a situation where he can no longer hide the reason for his hesitation.
And in between there are family scandals and drama, a quest, underwater explorations (planned and otherwise), and adventures in forgotten hidden rooms and passages. And Kristy's subtle-but-not-so-subtle proddings of Rashe.
Rashe: Brides of Driegon Book 3 By Ava Ross Kindle unlimited purchase Earth females have put their names in the lottery, so they can have a life that includes a family and children. This is a spin-off from Mail-Order Brides of Crakair so I recommend reading that series first. Wish book 4 was out already. Rashe's family is cursed so he is trying to keep away from Kristy. He knows she is his mate but he has to stay away from her. You know THAT'S NOT going to work. (Would not make a good book lol) HEA.... Brides of Driegon MALAC, Book 1 DRACE, Book 2 RASHE, Book 3 TERAN, Book 4
This has to be one of the best dragon shifter series EVER! This book continues the Driegon Bride Selection series with the story of Rashe, my favorite character. He is shy, misunderstood by most, but he is the most lovable character in this series. He meets his mate Kristy, but denies her because of a curse that threatens his life. The plot has so many twists and turns. It keeps you at the edge...and wanting more! The romance is sweet and hot...absolutely perfect. DOWNLOAD so you can enjoy an afternoon with a Driegon!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Honestly, this was my favorite in the series so far. I loved Rashe. Being able to get inside his head during his POV chapters was fantastic. Kristy was just as fun, spunky and willing to risk all for Rashe. I think she didn't expect to find him but their pull was too strong for either of them to ignore for too long. Lots of heat, adventure, suspense and a bit of mystery in regards to WHY Rashe believed he couldn't have Kristy. I am VERY excited for the next book in this series as well!

Rashe's family was cursed. Every second son was doomed to die a linair after he completed full Torrent. He was fine with that because he was not touching any female until he met the Earthling bride, Kristy. She was his mate. Kristy felt something when she first laid eyes on the King's elite guard, Rashe. If only he felt the same. Visit Driegon with Kristy and Rashe. See if they will be able to fully Torrent before someone kills Kristy. Guaranteed HEA. A fun read full of action and suspense.
