From comic book writer-historian Mark Evanier comes another collection of his acclaimed POV (Point of View) columns (as well as several never-before-published) on the subjects of comic book history, comic book creation and comic book appreciation! Included in this volume are his definitive history of the Fox and Crow comic book, tributes to artists Bob Kane and Gil Kane, Mark's diatribe on comic book numbering, and many more, capped off by an essay on comics' greatest villain, Dr. Fredric Wertham! This collection is profusely illustrated by award-winning Mad cartoonist (and Mark's collaborator of 20 years on Groo The Wanderer), Sergio Aragones, including a new cover!
I enjoyed the other two POV collections so much, my wife kindly bought me this one for Christmas last month.
Mark Evanier continues to appeal to the comic fanboy in me, sharing stories about being a comic book collector and writer, digging into the history of the industry, and providing reverent and informative obituaries for Golden Age creators who were passing away back when he wrote these columns for Comics Buyer's Guide back in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
I think I've read all the collections of his essays that were published now, but I continue to check in on his blog ever day at www.newsfromme.com.

Evanier has really become one of my favorite writers over the last couple of years. His essays about comics are untouchable--he knows so much. This collection has some very funny and educational tales about: Fanzines, burned-out comic artists, silly comic book numbering, eating at Comic-Con, Gil Kane, Yum Goody Orange Juice, Seduction Of The Innocent, the rules about the comic book industry, QVC and (my favorite) Dick Groat! Love it!
I was going to give this one star because Evanier still hasn't apologized for Scrappy-Doo, but I guess that's not the most responsible reviewing policy.
