STORY:
I am split with this. On one hand, I like the story and on the other hand because it’s a cliffhanger, it makes the first part of the story seem like it is dragging. I actually like getting to know Matteo and Claudia individually and then together as the story is told in dual POV. However, it took too long for me for Matteo and Claudia to mesh together and this makes me wonder if because it’s a cliffhanger. It’s hard judging the story when you are not sure how the story will unfold.

ENJOYMENT / CHEMISTRY:
So for my enjoyment and chemistry it was ok. I like the story more. I felt that because it took so long for Matteo and Claudia to initiate their attraction that when they finally do I didn’t feel that intensity from them. I wanted more from them intimately.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS
I really like Matteo’s mother. His family is so likable. Apart from his mother, no one yet is leaving me wanting more with the hopes of their own book. But with a cliffhanger can’t be sure as you only have the first piece of the puzzle.

Overall, likable story. Not really a fan of their intimacy needed more from them. Slow burn with building and establishing their story and the plot of the story.

Triggers: Claudia’s past could be a trigger as her mother sold her when she was 12.

***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful.

All i can say is OMG! The characters are amazing. This spin off is going to be outstanding, its great.
She’s a lost sheep and he’s this big bad Devil, out to get her and keep her as his and safe.
They slowly realize their feelings for each other, with the help of his family members.
When she’s hurt, he will move heaven and rain down HellFire on the person(s) responsible.

Intense! Raw! Dangerous! Emotional: Devil May Care (Diablo Mafisso#1) by K.C. Stone is outstanding!

Matteo Moretti is the head of one of the largest crime families in Italy, he is dark, dangerous and runs the family with a firm hand. Loved the interaction between him and his son Gio and the close bond he has with his family built on love and loyalty. Matteo is recovering from a hit when he took out a man who is trafficking women and children. Now the family is canvassing the countryside to find out who the shooter is. Matteo's mother is this strong woman who lives the lifestyle of the Mafisso and rules her house with an iron fist. Now his mother has plans for her son when she informs him she is sending a young woman to take care of him and his son. When he sees Claudia the woman his mother sent, at first he is rude to her but unknown to her he has feelings for her that he has kept to himself for three years. Claudia has been taken under the protection by Matteo's mother as she knows what led Claudia to Italy and all of the horrors she endured. The cruelty and abuse she faced as a little girl was heart wrenching, but this young woman took charge as she became a survivor when she escaped from her captors. The interaction and chemistry between these two will be hard to resist as finally Matteo makes his move and learns that Claudia has wanted him also. Weary at first to giving his heart away, the more he is with her he finally comes to terms that she is the woman for him even knowing she is keeping secrets. When Matteo finds out some of what she endured by her mother and boyfriend he is outraged to think this little girl and her sister was sold, but somehow Claudia escaped her abusers, but her sister's whereabouts are unknown. Their romance is full of passion, desire and heartfelt moments. Claudia has finally found happiness with this family she has come to love regardless of what they do, she is resilient enough to stand by her man. Matteo is on a mission to not only find the people who have targeted his family but to find the one's responsible for hurting Claudia. Love the interaction between Claudia and little Gio, as this little boy has grabbed her heart as well as his father's as they are heading towards being a family, but things will soon change when Claudia is put in danger and now Matteo vows to protect her and get his revenge. Could it be someone from Claudia's past is heading this vendetta? While trying to help Matteo, Claudia is about to receive a shock leaving us with one hell of a cliffhanger. Now we have to wait for book 2 find out how Matteo, Claudia, Giovanni and the rest of the Moretti family will survive the enemy that is heading towards them!

Devil May Care is book 1 in the new Diablo Mafioso by K.C. Stone. This book does end on a cliffhanger. I was reading along totally absorbed in the story when a new twist was introduced and then it ended. Grrrrr! The story did keep me on the edge of my seat. Devil May Care has some tie ins to the Lawless MC series with events that happened in Breaking Locke.

Matteo Moretti is the heir to the old family business. He is know as the Devil both for his ruthlessness and he callous way of dealing with non family. He has a two years old son, Gio. At an ambush, Matteo (Teo)is shot. His mother hires a nanny to look after Gio and help Teo. She sends over a young woman she has been looking after, Claudia. Claudia is attracted to Mateo but doesn't think she can have anyone in her life due to her horrible abusive history.

Matteo is attracted to Claudia but feels his work and life with his son leaves no room for anyone else. Watching Claudia with Gio and seeing Gio's love grow for Claudia breaks through Matteo's walls. He has to win her. He gets to work slowly showing his affection for her. They have incredible chemistry.

In addition to the current crisis with the Moretti family in the cross hairs, Claudia's unknown history is endangering Claudia and those around her. Claudia's history is slowly unveiled and there are a lot of triggers. Proceed with caution if you have them regarding abuse.

This new series is starting out with a bang. I can't wait to see where this story is going.

This is the first book in this series and be aware it does end in a cliff-hanger so it is at the least a duet. A well written fast paced mafia book that has characters that will draw you in and keep you engaged until you turn the last page

Matteo Moretti is a hard man he is the heir to his mafia family and has a reputation of been totally heartless hard to everyone the only people he gives his loyalty to is his family When he is injured in a ambush his mother sends over Claudia a woman she has been caring for to care for him and his son Gio. Claudia has had a hard life she escaped her captors after a horrific childhood and is determined to live her life Soon she is crushing on Matteo little knowing that he has had his eye on her for the past three years when he finally makes his move the passion between them flares Now he is bent on revenge not only against those that attacked him but also those that hurt the woman he loves and if possible he wants to find her missing sister. Are these two incidents related and what happens when Claudia is put in danger be prepared for one hell of a cliff hanger that will leave you wanting more

This is the first book in the new series, the new Diablo Mafioso. This is a newish author for me,mi haven’t read much but I liked the book I read but it was a while ago. As a warning, this does end on a cliffhanger so you’ll want to read the next book. I wasn’t ready for the story to end. I didn’t realize I was at the end and would have preferred a longer book as I hate having to wait especially when you are in to reading the book. I read other reviews that this story has some characters from the Lawless MC series with events that happened in Breaking Locke -mi have not read but will probably read that while I wait for the next book. This story is about Matteo and Claudia. Teo has a 2 year old son, Gio and hires Claudia as a nanny. Claudia was hired by Teo’s mom to help out. Claudia is attracted to Mateo but comes from an abusive past which is continually haunting her. Matteo is attracted to Claudia but feels his work and life with his son leaves no room for anyone else. I enjoyed this story but wish it wasn’t so short.

Claudia just wants to live free from her past, but she owes the Moretti family more than she can ever hope to repay. Taking care of Matteo's son seems like an easy way to fulfill her obligation to the family.

Matteo doesn't want a nanny or housekeeper, but his mother is right. Since being shot, he needs help taking care of Geo, and needs someone to watch his son while he takes care of the family's business. He also doesn't want distraction, and Claudia definitely brings distraction.

Claudia's past is somehow connected with the incident that led to Matteo getting shot. Matteo promises to chase down Claudia's dragons and slay them one by one.

Can't wait to see what happens next! Shadows, false leads, memories coming to light after being hidden in the darkness of the past... The complex nature of the mystery beckons.

Overtime Mateo and Claudia develop feelings for one another but Claudia doesn't think she can have anyone in her life due to her horrible abusive past.
I really enjoyed this book. It was well-written with interesting characters and an engaging storyline. There is action, suspense, mystery, murder, mayhem, twists, triggers, emotions, sizzling chemistry between the two main characters, steam, passion and love. (Note: This book ends on a cliffhanger).

Oh my!!! This is a great start to this series. I absolutely love Matteo, Gio, Claudia and the rest of the Moretti familia. KC is woven a story with suspense, action, revelations, twists and turns and I was completely hooked from the start. Matteo is a man to be feared, and some call him the devil. Claudia is helping take care of him and Gio while he heals. Matteo hasn’t thought of having any relationship with anyone, but that may change with Claudia. She soothes the devil inside him when they are together. The love she has for his son is beautiful. She cares about the whole family and will do what she has to to keep them safe. She and Matteo have a connection that you see grow and they fit together just right. I am so excited for the next book and cannot wait to read. You may even see and hear some familiar names of you have read her Lawless MC series.

Matteo and Claudia’s story is a little bit mafia and a little bit rich guy/nanny story. Matteo has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders and a part of the mafia. During an “incident” he is shot. Since he is unable to take care of his son while recuperating his mom sends over “help”. Matteo has always had a thing for Claudia but doesn’t have time for a love life. Matteo was burned with his sons mother and doesn’t trust women. For three years Claudia has watched Matteo when he was at his parents house. She know who and what they are but doesn’t care. She wants him anyways, even though she knows she shouldn’t. Will her secret past come back to ruin everything? Can they be together or will the mafia decide they all need to die.

Good start to this new series!

I enjoyed this story about Matteo, Gio, Claudia and the Moretti family. There is action, suspense, mystery, murder and mayhem and some twists and turns that will keep you captivated and on the edge of your seat. Matteo and Claudia's romance was fast paced and filled with some very steamy moments. All in all it was a good start to this new series.

The story was very interesting and kept me fully engaged but I did find myself at times confused by the jumps in time and gaps that made the story seem like it didn't fit together just right, like maybe something was missing.

It was a good start with a cliffhanger of an ending but there were too many gaps that needed to be filled to make it a complete story. I enjoyed reading it but felt it was not quite complete.

It is about the Moretti Family and does end with a cliffhanger. Matteo and Claudia are brought together by his mother after he is shot and needs help for him and Gio. She is the damaged angel to his the Devil. They both find walls breaking down between them. These two are perfect for each other. He plans to claim, protect, care for and love her for the rest of their days. When danger comes, he finds that to protect his family he will do whatever it takes. His enemies have not truly witnessed the Devil until now. I thought the characters were great in this book. I am really looking forward to the next book to continue the story

If you have read KC Stone's lawless mc series then you need to read this. I love her work and this one is connected to her mc series in a way. We meet the mafia in this series. What a great start to a series this is. We have Matteo who runs the show. He is ruthless and when he wants something done it gets done. The mafia has commandments that they go by and loyalty is one of them. Regardless if your blood. So when something happens to him, he is sent Claudia to help him out. Claudia knows about the family business and what they do. She has demons herself that she hides from everyone. When trouble hits the waters the devil wants to come out to play. He will do what ever it takes to keep her safe. So now all the action begins. I do not think anyone is safe now. I was left with a cliffy and was not thrilled about it but I can handle the wait.

This was a wonderful read by KC Stone. A great way to commence a new series about Matteo Moretti who is a mafia kingpin and Claudia who is hired by Matteo’s mother to help Matteo with his household and to babysit his son. The chemistry between Matteo and Claudia is instant and when they finally come together the scenes are quite steamy. I am a big fan of Ms Stone’s work and this book did not disappoint me at all. Lots happening and a love story will keep you captivated and on the edge of your seat with every page. Amazing characters and story line had me completely hooked and the ending had me wanting more. Look forward to reading the next book in this series.

This is the beginning of a new series! It started off with a bang and never looked back! I was pulled in from the first couple of chapters. I love the characters and their story. They have a fantastic connection and smoking hot chemistry. Their story is not full of rainbows and flowers. They have danger, threats, lies, twists, debts and more. How far will they go to protect each other? Will it be a HEA? Their story is so well written you can see it play out in your mind as you read. I love that! It makes it so much harder to put it down though. So I didn't. I can catch up on sleep later. This is a definite must read book in my humble opinion. I can not wait for the next book to be released!

Devil May Care by K.C. Stone he is heart-stopping, exciting story of Matteo (Teo) and Claudia. He’s ruthless…a devil. He is shot and Claudia is sent to care for him. He’s been taken with her for quite some time before this. Now that she is here helping to care for his son, Gio….things have taken on a whole new meaning…and depth.

This story was non-stop action, tense scenes, and swoon-worthy romance!!!! Loved Teo and Claudia both…their characters are perfect for each other….but, nothing is as it seems…and the story ends in a pretty major shakeup / cliffhanger.

This is the 2nd book in a new series and is Matteo and Claudia’s story. Matteo is dark and dangerous and is the head of one of the largest crime families, and when he is injured in an ambush his mom sends Claudia to take care of him and his son. Claudia has had an horrific life which she managed to escape from her captors. The chemistry between Matteo and Claudia is sizzling, and he is determined to get revenge against those that ambushed him, but is the danger closer to home than he imagined? This is a well written story which is raw, gritty, intense, and with lies, secrets, emotions, twists, banter, and danger, which all leads to a riveting and all-consuming read. I cannot wait to read the next book after that cliffhanger. I recommend this authors work for all.

Loved the book it was great, the story was written well and the characters were interesting. Matteo Italian mafia boss the heir to the old Moretti family business. Being the son of one of the largest crime families in Italy can come at a price. Matteo finds this out as he is shot whilst carrying out a job. Needing time to recover and help with his two-year-old son, Gio, his mother has arranged for someone to come and help around the house.

With a past that she is still trying to recover from, Claudia is thankful to Matteo's mother for taking her in three years ago. Hoping to not let her down as she takes care or Matteo and Gio. She is aware of who the family are and what they do for a living, however, feels safe with them - far safer than she has felt before.

Having Claudia at the house is a distraction for Matteo, although he loves how she dotes on Gio as though he were her own child. She is a walking temptation for him and with a reputation of being a Devil, he is not always great at sharing his emotions. Finding out about the truth of her past makes him protective towards her and wants to help uncover the people behind her sorrows.

The first book in the series which ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger. A mafia family, revenge, surprises and discovering love - I can't wait for the next book.

His mother arranges a young beautiful worker of hers to help. Her name is Claudia and she instantly falls in love with Matteo's son. She has been attracted to Matteo ever since she started working for his mother. Sparks fly and the chemistry is off the charts. This is definitely a great start for this new series. Matteo might be a bit of a badass, but I think that there is a softness inside him that he tries to deny. It’s so obvious when Claudia come to help him at his house after he’s injured. He is so desperately trying to run from his feelings, but they just won’t be ignored. She certainly feels the attraction between them and isn’t afraid of his family or their line of work. These two make an interesting pair and as Matteo struggles to keep them and his family away from the danger, can their love flourish into something long-lasting?

I am not sure what it was but I had some difficulty getting into "Devil May Care". I put it down a few times and then came back to it, something I rarely do. Matteo and Claudia's connection took so long, that at times it felt like I was reading two different books. I feel their story is a good one, but the flow was lost and hard to follow. It ends on a cliffhanger, and with future books in the series, the missing pieces are sure be be explained. That being said, it makes this one hard for me to review. **I was gifted "Devil May Care" via Booksprout and leave my review based on my reading.** 3 Stars

This is book one of two in the Diablo Mafioso series by K. C. Stone. It is a quick and short read with approximately 125 pages. This book does end in a cliffhanger. So, I hope that more is resolved in book two. Some of the story seems to be drawn out, and I do not know if this is because of the cliffhanger or because it took a lot longer for the two main characters to act on their attraction. You do not feel the overwhelming attracting from Matteo and Claudia as you normally do from this author's books. I will wait for book two before I make my final judgement.

This is the first installment in the Diablo Mafioso Series and features Matteo/Teo, who is the heir to a powerful Mafia criminal family, and Claudia, who is hired as the nanny for his son Gio when Teo is shot in an ambush. They are attracted to each other but there are many factors which interfere with the development of a relationship. This book has complex characters and an intriguing tale with danger, suspense, and steamy chemistry. The book ends in a cliffhanger and the story continues in the next installment entitled Devil in Disguise.

This book will have you gripping the edge of your seat. This is one roller coaster ride from He** with a fast stop at lovers lane for the romance of a life time for Matteo and Claudia. But with this love ever turn in the road leads to danger and destruction. What will happen next I can only guess. I just hope Claudia's baby sister is not the bad guy everyone thinks she is. I will be waiting with bated breaths until the next book come.

This book hooked me from the very beginning. Matteo is mafia, he has a young son and gets shot. They get Claudia to take care of Gio Matteo's son and Matteo while he heals. That is when Matteo starts to realize maybe he is missing someone to be with. I liked Matteo he is alpha and dark and dangerous. Claudia has secrets that will come to light, as secrets tend to do. The interaction was great the story flowed, I could not put it down. Then the ending well the jury is still out on that one.

When Matteo's mother tells him he need's some help with his son Giovanni and she will take care of it he is a little worried.
Claudia has worked for Francesca and the Moretti family for three years and would do anything for them, she now is going to work for Matteo and his son .
The man is beyond hansom no one should be that good looking, and now she will be staying at his home and looking his son.
Matteo can't believe his mother sent Claudia to him the one woman he dreams about ,but he has no time for love and he won't let his son get a broken heart again.

This is Book 1 of the Diablo Mafioso Series by this author. It is a captivating romance between Matteo and his son's nanny, Claudia. These characters are very different but likable, the connection strong, the chemistry combustible, and the unique plot makes for an enjoyable read. It is a slow burn love story with a good dose of drama and danger, secrets and lies, sexual tension and chemistry, engaging secondary characters, and a cliffhanger ending.
