I received this arc from Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review. This is the third and final book in the Tycoon’s Temptation series. I really loved Evie and Vincent’s story. Evie is the 3rd partner in Chase Creations Bakeshop. She had been married for 7 years to a cold and verbally abusive husband and she was finally getting her divorce finalized.

She realized that her lawyer was friendly with her ex’s family and got a recommendation for a different one. When she arrived for her initial meeting, her lawyer was taken away by ambulance for a heart attack. His clients were split up. She was subsequently assigned to Vincent who was her former college boyfriend. When they dated he had dropped out of college and was working in auto restoration. Her parents didn’t approve and they ended up breaking up 12 years earlier. She had seen him since he was best friends with her best friends’ men.

Evie initially let Vincent know she doesn’t want him as her lawyer and doesn’t want anything to do with him. After an ugly run in with her ex husband at the bakeshop that Vincent witnessed, she decides to sign with him after all. Vincent’s sister has graduated college and wants a custom cake creation from Evie’s bakery. Unfortunately he forgot to order it so when asks Tabitha, it’s not possible for her to do it but suggests he asks Evie. When she asks him to take her case, he negotiates a custom cake for his sister.

Both Evie and Vincent are drawn to each other. They’ve kissed, they’ve had sex and she’s given him a massage for a sore back after a golf round with the ex’s attorney. They are worried about this being seen as proper since she’s his client in a divorce case. When the ex’s lawyer claims she’s committed adultery, Vincent realizes they need to keep their new relationship a secret. He convinces the lawyer it’s not true and works on finalizing the divorce components. He had asked her on a date but ended up taking her to Vegas for the weekend so they wouldn’t be seen together. Her friends as well as his weigh in on their relationship. All seem to support it and think they should pursue it.

We learn that Evie and Vincent broke up when she went back to college. She believed that Vincent didn’t want to continue in college but rather work in car restoration. Her mother especially didn’t seem to approve of him and he thinks she was swayed by her parents’ opinions of him. Both hope to have a second chance to get things right.

I really enjoy Michele’s writing style, especially the steamy romance between the characters and her use of vivid descriptions of the people’s appearances, their clothing, the homes, the cars, as well as their past histories, etc. I like the second chance romance in this book. I enjoy seeing the characters in books 1 and 2 play a part in this story as well. I happily give this 5 stars. I’m sad the series is finished but I will be looking to read more by Michele in the future.

This is Evie Powell and Vincent Scott's story.
Evie sat on the bench at her vanity and slathered her body in fragrant moisturizer before applying her makeup. She couldn’t recall the last time she’d worn a full face. As a pastry chef, staring into a hot oven, and hands deep in moist dough most of the day, there simply wasn’t a need for it.
She hastily picked up the damp bath towel from the floor and rushed to neatly fold it, feeling that familiar twinge tightening her skin.
But she caught herself. Some habits, even forced ones Patrick expected tidiness were hard to break.
A brisk strut brought her to the building where law firm Slate, Ellis, Wardell, and Scott, LLP— took up the entire eleventh and twelfth floors. Scott. Vincent Scott. Her stomach lurched.
pages. “We should get started.” His gaze moved over her, resting on significant points of her frame, then returned to his notes. Admiration or abhorrence? His stoic demeanor gave no clue either way. “There’s coffee.” Without looking up, he gestured over at the credenza and pulled out his chair but didn’t sit when Evie chose to remain standing.
Civility simply wasn’t going to happen between them. “Look, no need for us to torture ourselves. It was Kennedi’s suggestion that I consider soliciting your firm.

I really enjoyed Evie and Vincent’s second chance story in Return to Me Me by Michele Arris, book three in her Tycoon’s Temptation series. This is story has two stubborn, alpha people knocking heads as custom pastry chef Evie Powell is forced to work attorney Vincent Scott, a man from her past. Evie’s life is a mess. She’s trying to divorce her controlling husband but when she goes to meet with a new lawyer, he has a heart attack and her case is given to the firm’s senior partner; a man Evie knew intimately in her past. A man she wants nothing to do with after not seeing him for over twelve years; still leaving her breathless. Vincent is a man from humble beginnings who made a name for himself, running one of D.C.’s most influential law firms. Handed a divorce case for the woman who left him back when he was a car mechanic, he definitely wants to refuse to represent her. Although it’s been years, Evie has the power to draw Vincent to her and he will do anything and everything to protect her. When Vincent discovers a life-altering secret, he knows telling Evie would destroy her and her world; whatever is he to do.

Oh my, these two hard headed, stubborn, willful people have such a sizzling attraction that the air around them is electrified. The chemistry they share is off the charts and the attraction is magnetic. It’s going to take a lot of trust before either Evie or Vincent can trust one another.

Ms Arris wrote a wonderfully, sizzling and emotional story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with off the charts, sizzling chemistry, intense emotions, and charming secondary characters giving Evie and Vincent a second chance for love and all they desire. I highly recommend Return to Me to other readers.

Not convinced

I was actually disappointed in both Vincent and Evie. For 2 grown professionals they were behaving like children. First of all it really irked me that they both blame Evie’s mother for their break up. They decided to Break up, she just voiced her view on his lack of ambition. It’s was a perfectly normal attitude for the mother of a 19 year old. She was right, yes he enjoyed being a mechanic but it obviously wasn’t his purpose considering that he went back to school to become a lawyer. Their « affair «  didn’t make sense either. Why not wait but a few weeks for her divorce to be settled ? The book also raised the issue of an appropriate settlement in a divorce. It was completely childish of her to give up on millions of dollars just so she could start a relationship. At this point it’s a business decision. She’s a business owner, she might need money to expand and instead she’s leaving money on the table so that Vincent doesn’t what? Slip away? Think badly of her?
As for the story about her parentage, it wasn’t Vincent place to investigate her. Once he knew, he should have kept his mouth shut. Because it’s a book everything is hunky dory but in real life, he would have broken her family for something which is not any of his concern.
As an aside, the book was advertised as a bwwm romance which it obviously wasn’t. Although it’s part of a series it’s supposed to be a standalone, therefore a recap on how she met her friends and same thing for Vincent would have been useful. Lastly we got to know her family background but not his.

Meh

Book three of the Tycoon's Temptation, while the other two books in this installment have been BWWM, this particular installment is BWBM, and it's exciting but the cover makes the idea of the book and what to look forward to deceiving. I would have liked more transparency and for the book to provide an accurate depiction on the cover because the cover of a book is part of the selling point. I think this may have been an oversight by the artist who put the book cover together, but the author should have caught this before publishing. This is honestly the reason I never read the book when it was first released, I knew Vincent's character was black, and yet he isn't depicted as such on the cover.

The relationship - As the story unfolds, the issues between her and Vincent become less clear and more immature. The two have been despising one another since their reacquainted because of slight miscommunication, and as adults with degrees and professions, they couldn't communicate openly. 🙄 While they both apologized for their past transgressions, Evie still wholeheartedly blamed her mother for their great demise, when they both chose to walk away.

Overall enjoyment, the storyline was decent for an imaginative story, but the pieces just never aligned. There was so much that was missing that I found it hard to see the pair do anything but sleep with one another. While we were given a history of Evie and her family, Vincent's family and upbringing are just a drop in the bucket, nothing that shows us his character then and now.

Return to Me (Tycoon's Temptation, #3) by Michele Arris is the story of one woman’s life in the middle of divorce. Evie Powell has worked diligently in school and now as the co-owner in a custom bakery. At first her problem seemed to be in finding a lawyer but after her husband shows up at her place of business her problem is much bigger. This is a woman who has been abused and manipulated during her marriage. The author doesn’t just tell this it is clearly shown. It doesn’t matter what issues her husband says he has she needed to get out.

That is not the only drama in Evie life as the story progresses. A sudden heart attack changes everything in a way. Suddenly a former boyfriend is back in her life. Secrets are discovered. Evie and Vincent have chips on their shoulders that must be knocked off before they can reclaim what they have lost. Interesting story that kept me reading to see how Evie would get rid herself of the terrible husband she had been trying to divorce for a year, then come to terms with the revealed secret and find love too. It is a lot for her to do but she does it all marvelously.

An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a book that very delicately handles divorce and all of the dramas that can entail At heart it is a love story but there are plenty of twists and turns on the way

Evie Powell has got her business life together after all she is co owner of aa bakery it is just a pity that her private life is such a mess She is in the process of divorcing her manipulative husband and to make things even more complicated her divorce attorney has had a heart attack Her case is handed over to one of the senior [partners who just happens to be a ex of hers Her and Vincent are both carrying baggage from their pasts if they finally let their walls down they may realise just what they could have with one another

Evie and Vincent- Back together for life

Wonderful book. Loved Vincent and Evie’s characters. Each one was strong and faithful. Vincent loved Evie and couldn’t stand how Patrick treated her. Patrick was a jerk and treated Evie horribly, even to the point of hiding his wealth while trying to take her business shares. That was until Vincent uncovered everything. Evie just wanted out of the marriage, she didn’t want anything from Patrick except her freedom. Learning that Charlotte was her biological mother and that she had an affair after marrying her husband and made it seem as though Evie was adopted.
In the end it all worked out. Patrick was never heard from again and Evie and Vincent were expecting their first baby.

Saw, Caught and Returned

This was the third and final book in the Tycoon's Temptation Series, Return to Me, Vincent's and Evie's story. It was not as good as the first book but better than the second one. Again, this one was too short.

The author did a better job on the Evie's back story but left a lot to be desired on Vincent's. Other than his sister, Sasha, we knew nothing about his parents. The sex was rough with vulgarity describing a woman's sexual body part; which left sensuality out.

The unprotected sex didn't fit with either Vincent's or Evie's personalities even though It added to their HEA. I loved catching up on the couples a from the previous books. Still, there was so much missing, though what was there was delightful.

Love between family and friends

I love the sisterhood and affection between Evie, Kennidi and Tabitha. I also love that Evie and Vincent didn't waste too much time clearing the air and working through their disagreement that kept them apart for 12 years. The trilogy was well wrote out, very entertainingset and set at just the right pace which kept the story moving. There was no stalling, which to me, makes a story get boring and hard to get into again. Wish there were more family and friends to keep this group going. Wouldn't mind reading a follow up book about how the 3 couples lives are going... and add in if Sasha is getting serious about the young man she invited to Vincent and Evie's engagement celebration.

I enjoyed Return to Me by author Michele Arris. It is a nicely-written book with characters that are engaging, vulnerable and genuine. This second chance romance grabbed my attention from the very first chapter, and the balance between steam and story was well-executed. Evie and Vincent are a seductive couple, and their sexy times were hot. In addition, Evie and Vincent's respective friends were quite memorable. Overall, if you like books about lawyers, designer cakes and falling in love, then pick up a copy of this book.

This is the third installment from the Tycoon's Temptation series and it can read as a standalone.

Complimentary copy provided by the publisher.

Will it be a second chance romance for Evie and Vincent. She is in the midst of a divorce and he is a lawyer. She left him once before but will they have their chance now?
A great read, and also good to catch up with the characters from the previous books in this series.

Entertaining!

I don't normally enjoy romance stories with a lot of drama. I was pleasantly surprised not to tire of the story or its characters. I thought that I could anticipate some of the aspects of the story. I was delighted to see that all of the events did not go as I expected. An enjoyable read.

Dying to get away from and divorce her controlling husband, a woman finds herself represented by the man she left behind. Emotions are at high tide as they battle the chemistry that they once felt and make sense of the past that haunts them both.

A solid read

A good story with a nice ending. It had a touch of drama here and there, but it skipped or resolved it quickly enough.

Goodreads Giveaway ARC

Not a terrible read, but wasn't for me. I wanted a lot more romantic development and actual conversation between the characters about what worked for them now, instead of reminiscing on old times. This is why I usually do not enjoy second chance romance because it feels like you are missing something because you weren't there when they fell in love. Most of their time together was talking about good times they had before, NOT talking about the issues that made them grow apart, and then having lots of sex. I wasn't convinced that they were now compatible people, and they really did not resolve the conflict that they had.

The divorce/lawyer plot line didn't further the romance, and being a lawyer myself parts of this were hard to read due to clear violations of ethics rule. (I know, I know, it's fiction who cares?)

I also didn't read the first two books in the series, so I didn't know much about the side characters that are quite prevalent. Not a bad thing, but didn't help my reading experience.

Things that worked: Loved the diversity of the characters.
