From the introductory: "The Welcome Man" "There's a man in the world who is never turned down, wherever he chances to stray; he gets the glad hand in the populous town, or out where the farmers make hay; he's greeted with pleasure on deserts of sand, and deep in the aisles of the woods; wherever he goes there's the welcoming hand-he's The Man Who Delivers The Goods. The failures of life sit around and complain; the gods haven't treated them white; they've lost their umbrellas whenever there's rain, and they haven't their lanterns at night; men tire of the failures who fill with their sighs the air of their own neighborhoods; there's one who is greeted with love-lighted eyes-he's The Man Who Delivers The Goods. One fellow is lazy, and watches the clock, and waits for the whistle to blow; and one has a hammer, with which he will knock, and one tells a story of woe; and one, if requested to travel a mile, will measure the perches and roods; but one does his stunt with a whistle or smile-he's The Man Who Delivers The Goods. One man is afraid that he'll labor too hard-the world isn't yearning for such; and one man is always alert, on his guard, lest he put in a minute too much; and one has a grouch or a temper that's bad, and one is a creature of moods; so it's hey for the joyous and rollicking lad-for the One Who Delivers The Goods. * * * * "For though gamesters say that the cards beat all the players, though they were never so skilful, yet in the contest we are now considering the players are also the game and share the power of the cards."
George Matthew Adams was an American newspaper columnist and founder of the George Matthew Adams Newspaper Service, which syndicated comic strips and columns to newspapers for five decades. His own writings were circulated widely to The Gettysburg Times and many other newspapers.
The book was not too bad, just not my type of book as each chapter is only about one page. The topics were all varied from friendship to business to relationships to habits.
This book was published over a hundred years ago so the language is a bit outdated yet still relevant. It actually makes for some comedic interactions with the book.
One of the only reasons why I read this book was because it was included in a massive book of collected classics called The Prosperity Bible.
This book was very impactful for me as it was one of the first books that I've ever read , learnt a lot from this book . The writing was very light and engaging . I would highly recommend this book to new readers (like myself) it'll not only help you clear your mind but also inspire you to get up and become productive .
This book isn't just about motivation, it's about discipline, responsibility, time, mistakes, happiness, and becoming intentional with your life. Every page feels like a quiet mentor reminding you that success is not luck,it's a habit.
What stayed with me the most:
Cut out the non-essentials. Focus on what truly counts.
+ Mistakes don't define you, rising from them does.
Happiness isn't a destination; it's a habit you
practice daily.
Time never waits. What you do today decides your tomorrow.
This isn't a book you rush through. It's a book you underline, pause on, reflect on and come back to..
If you're someone who's rebuilding their mindset, learning to trust themselves again, or quietly working toward bigger dreams, this book speaks your language.

An outdated, poorly written (by today's standards) book.
In places this book feels like random rants about almost anything. The book covers a plethora of topics which only have one side of a pages worth of text.
This is very much a me thing, but random capital letters and even more random sentences don't appeal to me. I had to read some sentences more that twice as they were so poorly written. It almost feels like these are the writings of someone who was taking notes whilst the other dictated.
Don't waste your money buying this, I'll give you my copy for free.
This book was ok. It tell about all aspect of life and sometimes little bit too random but all of the topics only about one page and sometimes less than that. It touch really little about the topics and I sometimes didn't really get the point of the author .
This book published around 1913 and its about more than 100 years some of language also a little bit outdated I guess but somehow if need a book that touch almost everything in our life maybe this book is suitable to read.
The book if filled with a lot of "QUOTES " . Basically full of Napoleon hill and Don M. Green. I would say the book had some really great chapters and quotes , some were really inspiring and some were not so great. There were a lot of chapters and it was surprising to see that each chapter had somewhat new idea, although they kind off looked and sounded same. Yeah a few ideas were some, but still had a bit of distinction in them.
This is one of my favourite .... The way George Explains the importance of little things in our life , As well as it was written with such a great passion that people would love to turn those pages with enthusiasm ... This is a must read book for every Adult / Teenager , I'm sure you would love to read such an amazing and inspiring book like this one !
It had been a while since I had read a complete book. But this book has brought back my habit of reading. My sincere thanks to the Author. As for the book, I must say it is for everyone. Even for the people who find it difficult to read a page and dose off. A boost to the inner spirit, and a motivator to the inner you. A must read at least once in your life.
This book is set out in small sections, which makes it easy to read. Even though it was written over a century ago, many of the points made are still valid today.
What is this book. Waste of time and money reading it. It's just the thing which we know about and quotes taken from different people and that we experience in our daily life, Just pasted on a sheet of paper. Don't read it. Not worth it.
Ratings : 4.8/5 🌟 Author - Adams George Matthew 🖊️ Genre: SELF-HELP Book Book Review: YOU CAN by Adams George Matthew written book was perfectly. The way author explained each and every part of chapter was on point. Overall, I liked the book and their short chapter makes you motivate.
One of my favourite books of all time. The collection is immaculately instilled with short form value points. Because of that it will stick to your mind more than any other self-help books. The last chapter will surely be a great read.
The most optimal best beginner book you can read. I wish I had read this book before I started my self-improvement journey. Napoleon Hill as usually is way too good with quotes.
"You Can" by George Matthew Adams is an inspiring book that motivates readers to stay positive and believe in themselves. It shares simple lessons and ideas to help people take action and achieve success. It's a short and encouraging read, great for anyone who needs a little motivation in life.
