Dragons of Mount Atrox #4

Dragon's Devotion

Rate this book
His devotion might be her undoing…

Alana Egall never fit in with her dragon clan or with other humans like her. Caught between two worlds, yet belonging to neither, she’s shocked when her dragon family summons her home. She’s immediately confronted by her stepbrother, a purist jerk, who doesn’t hide his disgust for her heritage. When Klass, the new clan leader, steps in to make her stepbrother leave her alone, she starts to wonder if she might belong with the dragons after all. Kladd’s touch sets her body on fire. But she’s not sure if she’s ready to leave her life behind for him.

Kladd Atrox is the newest leader of his clan, and he’s already having to put out fires on his inauguration night. It’s the first time he’s laid eyes on Alana in over a decade and he can’t believe his eyes. The girl who turned her back on the dragons has become a woman. One he can’t get off his mind. Clan duties or not, he has to see her again, and convince her to return home. His dragon won’t tolerate anything else.

Although she tells herself she’s leaving the dragons behind, Alana knows she’s lying to herself. Her job has her working directly for them, managing their charity fund. It’s an intense job, and she doesn’t have time for distractions. Unfortunately for her, Kladd’s insistence at being a part of her life has made her a target. The vampires haven’t been dormant, and from within their midst, a terrifying new figure has emerged. An evil that threatens to destroy their love before it’s allowed to blossom.

Riley is one of those early-morning people you love to hate, because she swears she doesn't need caffeine, even though the coffee-maker is connected to her smartphone. She lives in a three-story townhouse by the good graces of a tabby-cat who rules the house, the couch, the table, well, basically everywhere. When she's not groveling for forgiveness for neglecting to pet her kitty enough, Riley is strapped in to her writing chair coming up with crazy worlds where she can make her own decisions of when feeding time is and how much coffee can be drank without her friends--of which she has three--holding yet another intervention that they threaten to post on the internet.

Dragon's Devotion is the fourth wonderful book in the Dragons of Mount Atrox series.

Something came through the gate now they must find them before they take over the world. The five families keep to themselves but when someone wants the one person they can't live without it is time to find out what is going on and take them out.

With Fated mates, dragons, vampires, fighting and magic you will not want to put this book down.

Becoming clan leader is a lot of responsibility and often interfers with the woman he can't get out of his mind. She is over worked at keeping the thousands of people who want to see a dragon but things go from bad to worse when the national guard come to town.

Alana was n charge of the tent city that had formed when the dragons were revealed - and had no time for a personal life. She had grown up on the mountain at Five Peaks, but didnt fiot in - and when she was 16, she left, leaving her step brother behind. Prax was her only living relative, but he didnt approve of her.
Kladd Atrox has just been elected the leader of his clan - and when he meets Alana again at his celebration, he finds her hard to forget.
But there are enemies who just want to destroy them all. Will he be able to keep Alana safe? Will Prax eventually stand by his sister?
Will Alana and Kladd be able to work out what is happening wbetween them? Love all of the Five Peak stories!

I liked the introductory synopsis/blurb so much and thought I would enjoy this storyline a lot more than I actually did. I'm not quite sure what was missing for me as Kladd the newly head of his dragon shifting clan and his human mate Alana were a worthy couple.
While their attraction was instant, Alana's insecurities and waffling back and forth as she battled with her past and her inner demons of not belonging were frustrating and got old quickly.
Both of their lives were in turmoil with Alana's spiraling totally out of control. Her placement of blame on the one person who cared the most for her had me shaking my head in wonder,
Kladd's life was also out of control but his priorities were on straight. His discovery and struggle with the newly discovered Vampire King was full of intrigue and suspense, but that Vampire King did a whole lot of horrible damage before he was neutralized.
I kept hoping Alana's presence in Kladd's life would somehow be the key to overcoming this deadly enemy. I was so off base with that idea, and even when faced with kidnapping and near death, Alana was still unable to profess her love for Kladd.
I did like the way her brother Prax, finally realized the errors of his ways, but there was just too much loss of lives in this one to be truly romantic.

We need a life balance to find our joy. Alana, grew up with the dragons. Her Mom married a dragon with a son, Prax. Prax spent his life demonstrating that he considered Alana and outsider, unwelcome in the dragon clan. Alana, eventually left not to return for 15 years for Kladd's ascencion as klan leader. Alana, worked as the director for the charity managing the tent city. She found it challenging because there were not enough financial resource. Alana and Kladd, tiptoed around the tingles and feelings, they inspireed from each other. Do they have time for each other? Alana has the charity, Kladd his new klan. Will Alana, make the time? Then, Klagg had an encounter with what he considered, The Vampyre King. Can Alana balance the charity and Klagg? Does Klagg understand what is happeneing? The story was good. The Atrox, Klan were good to meet. There are up and downs and some twists in this story. Action, good conflicts. This is a good story. I am challenged to like Alana, but everyone else were easy to like. Good follow up to Rann's story. Well done. I received an ARC from Booksprout and am willing to leave a review.

Great end to this series

With a prelude at the end to give a clue to the next series! I think it is finally Rixa's turn to deal with something! I am very much enjoying this bunch of series set in Five Peaks. This is the fourth one so far. Each has had a different focus. I like that the dragon shifters here are not like those in other series. They have capabilities beyond what I have seen before.

Kladd is the new leader of Clan Atrox. He has invited Alana, a human who used to live there to his confirmation. Both are vibrant and kickass characters who draw you into the story. The pace is breakneck and the tone is hopeful with a character oriented storyline that has some steamy scenes and some action. I loved it. If you want to read just about the vampires, read this series in order. But to get the most of the stories, read in order all the Aterna books, then the Teres books, then Valen books before the Atrox books. Then you will have to wait for the Rixa books like we do! But it will be worth it. Enjoy!

Brilliant, but stop the endless orgasms, please!!!

I love this writer. She doesn’t seem to make spelling mistakes, her sex scenes are hot, the men are so sweet and romantic, but... I really wish she wouldn’t write that the heroines all have endless orgasms that go on and on! No they really don’t!!! It’s impossible and it’s annoying to read!

Having got that off my chest, the positives massively outweigh that negatives.

Alana has never fit into the dragon world as she isn’t one. I think she’s supposed to be, but it was never explained. When she’s old enough to leave she moves into town and doesn’t really have anything to do with the dragons. When the new leader of her clan invites her to his crowning ceremony, Kladd is instantly attracted to her. When a vampire king rises up and threatens all the dragons, Kladd wants her to move back to the mountain but she won’t. So he arranges her protection and their feelings grow for each other. Really enjoyed it as usual.

Alana Egall never thought she would step foot on the mountain again. She may have grown up there, but she left as a young woman and she never had any intention of returning. Kladd Atrox is the new leader of his clan. He remembers Alana from when she was part part of the Atrox clan, and lived on the mountain. He is surprised to see her at first, but Alana is all grown up and Kladd, and his dragon, quickly realize that they both want her to be a part of their lives permanently.
Well written, compelling, sexy, and sometimes sweet characters that will have to fight against a creature more powerful than any other the dragons have battled in order to save themselves and the humans they have sworn to protect. Lots of action with some suspenseful moments, and a happily ever after. Wonderful book, I thinks it's a must read.

Riley has Created a superb world with her various dragon clans and this the fourth book in the Mount Atrox series is a superb read

Alana is human and she has turned away from the dragons in fact she has been away for the last ten years but now she has been called home The first thing that happens is that she has a run in with is her step brother who has no time for her as he only thinks pure dragons should be allowed. Luckily for her Kladd Atrox comes to her aid and gives her step brother his marching orders Kladd can't believe how much Alana has grown she is no longer the young girl that left the clan and he has an instant attraction to her Many won't be happy after all Kladd is the new ruler of the clan and should marry a full blood not a mere human. As they try to sort out their new relationship danger threatens the entire clan can they have a future You will have to read to see

Alana arrives at the Atrox Clan home and her brother yells at her and Kladd protects her.
Alana had been shocked to receive an invitation for the celebration of the new leader of Clan Atrox and although she has live away for so long she accepts. When she arrives the guard tells her she should not be there until she shows him her invitation then when she gets out of her car her step-brother dragon shifter Prax rushes over challenging her right to be there but when he goes to hit her an arm stops him. Kladd had become the new leader of the Clan having won the challenge see Prax who was a pain in his butt harassing a female but when he goes to hit her Kladd acts knocking him away. When he greets Alana he finds himself reacting strangely to her touch.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Dragon's Devotion by Riley Storm is the fourth (and final) book in the Dragons of Mt. Atrox series. But Don't Fret Yet! This amazingly fast paced read is addictive and action packed. Alana has always been made to feel less. Not fitting in with the dragons nor with the humans, she has always felt alone. Kladd has just stepped in as the clan leader and his life is going to take a major left turn. Action, drama, danger and love await them both, but worse the vampires are acting up and it seems they have a new target. This is a great close to this series, but Riley Storm hasn't finished with her dragons yet. (Thank Goodness!) Warning: This series contains sexy dragons, steamy sex and some laugh-out-loud situations.

Alana has left the dragon community years ago, but she can't resist an invitation.
Which brings her in the path of somebody she wants to forget and she meets Kladd again. Sparks fly and Kladd can't forget her. He visits her again and again, but if that is a smart thing to do with a vampire King on the loose and with all the people Alana is taking care off? But he has no choice, because he can't get her out of his head, because she is his mate.

Great read about taking care off people, friendship, family and more. With lots of action as always and sparks and more when Alana and Kladd are alone.

Exceptional Fourth book.
This series, the Dragons of Mt. Atrox concluded with a strong storyline which told the story of the newly placed Ruler of the Clan Atrox, Kladd and the human woman, Alana, who left the mountain a long time ago because she was made to feel she didn’t fit in with the dragons. Their encounter came at a pivotal time because of the dragon’s arch-enemies, the Vampires, or specifically one Vampire.
As Kladd and Alana figure out their relationship the camp around them comes under attack and all must be dealt with and fast.
The Epilogue provides a little teaser about what’s coming next.
Highly recommending this book and the previous three books. PEACE.

Alana isn't a dragon although she has a dragon family and works for them, she left her home on the mountain intending never to return. That was 15 years ago but now she's been called back and is once again being subjected to abuse from her stepbrother.

Kladd has just become the head of his clan, he's unmated and remembers Alana from before she left when she lived as part of the Atrox clan. Alana has changed a lot since she left, and when he sees her again both he and his dragon know almost instantly that they want her to be their mate, will he be able to convince her to return to the mountain permanently?

The book flows well, has great characters and includes action, danger, drama and of course romance.

How strong can vampires get?

This time its Kladd's turn to shine, well, if he can lead the clan against the Vampire King, and that's no given. They've never faced a foe so strong before.

Nice blend of familiar and new characters. The story is a pleasure to read, and there is humor and pathos in equal measure as this last book of this clan progresses to a satisfactory and logical conclusion.

As I've said in other reviews, each book in the series can be read stand-alone, but is more enjoyable when read in order. Start with the Dragons of Mt. Atraxa, and follow the recommended next reads.

The author has once again pulled us into the lives of the dragons and humans of Five Peaks. Alana, a human, has not been back to Mount Atrox since she left fifteen years ago but feels like she should attend a reception for the new leader of the clan, Kladd. Once they touch, they both realize that something is happening. Will they be able to find out where their attraction will take them or will the danger to the clan tear them apart?

Alana is called home for the day the clan leader changes. Kladd knows she is his mate, but she does not feel a part of the clan because of her half brother who believed only full parentage kids belonged there and her mother was human. This storyline follows Alana and Kladd as they forego hurdles and twists that try to keep them apart. Their strengths grow with them as a pair and even the vampyres need to be aware. Loved the characters and the ending.

This one ends the stories of the Atrox dragons but not the end to Five Peaks. Alana was raised with the dragons but she is not one of them. Especially if you ask her stepbrother. After the death of her mother and stepfather she no longer felt welcomed and went to make a life for herself. But one invitation will change it all. Kladd is now the new leader and soon finds an evil that will bring death to Atrox. The romance in the story will slowly build as the two are pulled towards each other. There is some fighting of good vs evil. And there will be deaths on both sides.

You won't want to put this book down as it is completely loaded with danger, suspense and drama as the dragons of Mount Atrox fight to defeat the vampires. While each book can be read as a stand alone you will get a better experience and maximum enjoyment by reading from the beginning of the Five Peaks World. It is well worth reading.
I read an Advanced copy with NO expectation of a review. All opinions are my own.

OMG that Vampire is super creepy and scary. That vampire is not the vampire of regular myst though walking in daylight. This book is not the first I have read and I have to say each one gets more interesting an draws me into the story. I so can not wait for the next one if the end of this book has any thing to go off it will be more interesting than the last.

Annoying Spell Check to Incorrect Words

On at least 5 occasions the words were obvious spell check replacements that didn't make sense which causes the reader to stop and figure out intended word. Overall entertaining final installment of the Mount Atrox series. Honestly I was tempted to read more of the Dragon stories because they were hot plus the sex was steamy. The evil monsters were a bit silly and lacked substance. I did enjoy the dragons devotion and dedication.

Returning home

Kladd & Alana > he fought to become the leader of his clan, but he also had to fight the vampires and along with that he finally found his mate. She finally came home after 15 years of being away just to run into her brother who she ran away from before and then to meet him the one she couldn't stop thinking about. Their story will take you through twist and turns throughout their lives all the way to the end of the book.

Forbidden romance, drama, danger, bad guys, recurring characters, and likable MCs.
