Following the sage advice of a Times Square Pikachu—Reese seeks out Bernard’s son, prepared to beg for his aid, never expecting mega sparks to fly between her and the gentle giant baker. 4 Whipping up Wonder Stars ⭐

A grumpy, antisocial baker. Lots and lots of decadent sweets. Umm what's not to like? Did I mention he's burly, has big hands and gives bear hugs?

“This is New York City, kid. Miracles happen. You’ll get yours.”

Reese Stratton was born to dance. When she lands an audition in New York, she soon leaves Wisconsin behind for the bright lights. Except when she misses the audition, she has only two weeks to fulfil her dream. Which leads her to Leo Bexley.

Can you fall in love instantly? Because Leo doesn't know what hit him the moment he heard her voice. And then he laid eyes on Reese in his bakery. He was a goner.

Her attention kept travelling to his massive hands, her apparently shameless mind wondering what they would feel like cradling her hips.

Or fisting her hair.

Leo winked at her, as if he knew exactly which images her mind was conjuring up and they shared a slow smile.

These two had chemistry in spades. Although there's one slight, well massive hiccup in this budding romance. It isn't coincidence that has them meeting. In fact Reese has purposely sought Leo out. It's his connections to Broadway she's initially seeking. Except with one meeting, she genuinely likes him. And it foils her plan.

This perfect kiss only hit home how much she’d messed up by lying.

The attraction and fondness towards each other is genuine. But a relationship founded on lies is doomed. Reese has two weeks to succeed, whilst Leo unknowingly has two weeks to convince her to stay.

The Sweetest Fix was a lovely diversion from what I've been currently reading. Cute, humorous, steamy and full of emotion. I wouldn't expect anything less by this author. Both Leo and Reese were wonderful together. Amazing what a little honesty can achieve in the end.

“Missing you made me love you even more. I hope you’re ready.”

I completely underestimated how good this would be. We'll blame that on my judgemental self. It should be obvious by now that the cover and storyline don't always go hand in hand.

Anyway, I enjoyed the heck out of this. Should've known I was going to get a sweet story with Tessa Bailey! I think what the author seems to do well is ensure that her characters always have passions and dreams and drive. She then tops if off with a great romance.
I was rooting for them separately and together.

Thank you, Sara for always finding the best books for us to read!😘

"'This is New York City, kid. Miracles happen. You’ll get yours.'"
I wanted to have finished this book yesterday, but the last few chapters got me very emotional. I knew I had to stop reading and maybe finish it in the daylight. That didn't help. I'm a crying mess over here, thank you very much. It's obviously not a sad crying, it's a I'm-so-happy-I-got-to-read-this crying.
There's a certain kind of magic to New York, and there's magic to this book too.

"He was like a walking cup of hot chocolate by the fire."
I connected with Reese right away. She knows what she wants, and she chases her dancing dreams, even though she may not be good enough. But she's still trying, regardless. And she is coming to NYC to make those dreams come true.
And Leo... Leo is dreamy. Leo is perfect. Leo is freaking everything. I mean, a grumpy baker, a real man bear, who is caring and loving and sweet... and so good in the bedroom. How can you not fall hard for this? And yes, he also has a dirty mouth, and it wouldn't be a Tessa Bailey book without it.

Also...*nap dates*. N-A-P D-A-T-E-S. Let's make this a thing, people!

"'You’re the exception to every fucking rule, okay?'"
Reese misses her audition, which was the chance of a lifetime. Not wanting to go back home to Wisconsin, she tracks down the son of the choreographer to ask for his help. But when she meets him, there's this instant connection that only grows the more they spend time together. She doesn't let him know why she sought him out in the first place because he might think she just wanted to use him, and that omission is tearing at her. And then Leo finds out about it...

"'Forever starts tonight.'"
As I said, I was really emotional by the end of the book, because it feels so real. While fighting for her professional dreams, Reese finds a home. Not only a home in New York, or a home in the NY dance scene, but a home in someone. Someone who is, and will always be, there for her. They are each other's home. And isn't that a small miracle in itself, and the sweetest fix ever?

Get this book! You won't regret it. Tessa Bailey is amazing.

This was such a super sweet and super sexy read. I just loved it--and I don't usually go for plots where one person is lying, but I found Reese's reasons for hiding the truth to be so relatable and believable. Just great.

Ok, more about this. Leo is a great romance hero. I think the way he takes care of her is amazing, and then how mad he is at himself for not recognizing what was really going on. There's a lot of dignity to these characters.

Also: nap date.

I feel like one of my favourite authors is back, because this story? It was everything!!

It had all the feels, steamy smut, two wonderfully flawed characters who fit together like two pieces of a puzzle. Plus it was funny! And even though lying as a plot device is seriously not my favourite thing, I pushed through and was glad at how it was handled.

Heroine's mum was fabulous.
"Success is measured in all kinds of ways, honey. And I think finding something you love as much as you love dancing is a success in itself. There are people who'll never discover their passion, because they never bothered to look."

There is almost nothing I love more than He's Grumpy/She's Sunshine and THE SWEETEST FIX is delivering IT.

Reese just missed the most important dance audition of her life. Now she's stuck in NYC with shattered dreams and one seriously bad idea to try and get a new audition by kissing up to the Choreographer's son. But once she walks into Leo's bakery and meets him their sparks fly and she can't bring herself to use him when she's busy falling for him.

Reese and Leo are everything I need in a couple! Reese is a great heroine who is hard working, sweet, sunshiny, and passionate. I loved her gentle way of coaxing smiles from grumpy Leo. She was relatable and loveable, even when she was making choices that make you cringe, knowing that it's gunna come back to bite her.

Leo is EPIC SWOON MATERIAL. He is grumpy and gruff, but also sweet and lovable! I absolutely LOVED that he is a male lead that doesn't have a perfectly chiseled body. No six pack abs for this baker and I adored his minor discomfort about his body compared to the lithe dancing body that Reese has. He is still hotter than sin and worthy of reader fantasies.

And speaking of sin....daaaaaammmmmnnnn....this book was HOT. The chemistry, steamy scenes, and dirty talk will melt your Kindle. Buying this book in paperback might be an actual fire hazard. Be warned. I could not get enough of these two and their sizzling draw to each other.

THE SWEETEST FIX is a must read that you will definitely want to add to the top of your TBR!

A lovely, sweet, heartwarming romance read.

Reese was determined to pursue her dream of a Broadway dancer. When she missed her most anticipated audition, she decided to approach the dance choreographer’s son and ask for his help in order to reschedule the audition.
Leo was a pastry chef, reserved and not very social,
There was insta attraction from the first time they encountered, which led to insta love a few days later, and Reese based on her consciousness concealed the reason for meeting him.
Their relationship evolved, with flying sparks, steamy moments, until Leo found out the real purpose of Reese’s approaching him.

The story was very well written, there were some wonderful scenes and others a little too sweet for me, the characters were likeable and relatable, low angst and nicely delivered.

I sure did love this! Reese is resilient. I absolutely adore her. I can’t imagine giving it your all only to be told no at every turn. You go girl!
Leo. Omg. The most cuddly dirty talking mean baker. It was enchanting seeing the relationship developing between Leo and Reese. Of course there was that BIG secret that I wanted her to blurt out every time they were together. Had some serious heart palpitations. Definitely a re read in the future.

I'm sorry but I'm obsessed with grumpy heroes only soft for their love interests????? Shoutout to them my favorite trope. The Sweetest Fix has been on my list for a while now. It has been on my kindle for some time lmao but I don't know why I didn't pick it up~ because I KNEW I WAS GONNA LOVE IT YOU KNOW? But I just needed that perfect day to read it and this was the day. And my friends, this book is A MUST IN YOUR LIFE.

Meet Reese, a dancer who wants to see her name in a Playbill and make it on Broadway. She suddenly gets an audition with one of the best directors in NYC and sadly, she gets too late because of circumstances. But worry not, Reese is here to achieve her dreams! She plans to go to the director's son's bakery to maybe ask him to help her out with his dad, but when she meets Leo... everything changes. She cannot use him like that, she likes him too much and she prefers to do it with her own strength, and so she decides to try out for many, many auditions. But money is running low,,, what is going to happen next?

This is such a sweet, funny, swoony love story. Since the very start, Leo is instantly enchanted by Reese and he has never experienced something like this. He doesn't do people. He prefers sweets, desserts than talking to costumers at his bakery. But there's something about Reese that makes him want to be there, to search her out, to change his routine. It's so glorious to see this big bear of a man just completely be in love with her since the first chapter.

Reese, in the other hand, is so strong. She just wants to dance and she's ready to do it all. She gets disappointed so many times and still gets up in the morning. She is my favorite character and she deserves the world. I'm so happy that she found Leo and he is def going to give her the world in a pretty scented platter. But she is also going to do some stuff by herself, she doesn't want her goals to be handed easily, she wants to work for them. You won't stop loving her and will want to continue reading more and more even if the story is already over.

Grumpy/sunshine, nap dates (!!!! yes), hero obsessed with heroine first, and a sweet STEAMY (BECAUSE UHM IT'S TESSA BAILEY HELLO? she delivers on the steamy) love story. Please read it, it'll change your life.

Cute! I didn’t think that third-act breakup was necessary but it’s a Tessa Bailey book so… 🤷🏽‍♀️
Could’ve been a 4 star but that ending felt rushed especially after they got back together. And i can’t believe I’m saying this, but the book should have been longer *sigh*

Man, Leo is the sweetest man I have met and he’s a baker!? 🥵I want Leo to bake me something sweet 😏Now, let me find a cake pop.

Reese is 21 and Leo is 28 to put the age gap perspective out there.

Really short and sweet.

“Leo considered her as she spoke. His expression was unreadable, so she definitely wasn’t expecting it when he said, “God, I’m fucking crazy about you, Reese.”

Their connection was genuine, the second they saw each other, they spoke like they’ve known each other their entire life.

They’re both hard workers and I admire that.
Albeit, there is miscommunication to an extent but because Reese didn’t want to disappoint Leo…but she did and he figured it out why. Leo didn’t want to give her up since she’s the only one for him.

I conclude this review with this quote:

“Success is measured in all kinds of ways, honey. And I think finding something you love as much as you love dancing is a success in itself. There are people who’ll never discover their passion, because they never bothered to look.”

I've read this straight up in one sitting.
The Sweetest Fix—indeed! Sweetest fix of romance, perfect palate cleanser, happy feels book.
I loved both heroes of this lighthearted romance, their chemistry was potent, their lovemaking HOT and URGENT and then there's the dirty talk. THE BEST!
Seriously, this book was the sweetest, loveliest dose of happiness I didn't know I needed, of course there this expected angst rolling around at 80% that will make your heart drop for a bit but there's a well deserved HEA for these two wonderful characters.

Yes the heroine meets the hero under false pretense and takes a little more time than necessary to come clean about her lies but, but... it's all perfectly well explained later on, IMO, and a necessary device for the plot to follow its course. I didn't mind this one bit considering the heroine never meant any harm and actually more lied by omission than anything else.

Anyway, I loved this one!

Brief review

I really like this author and a big hefty H, who's grumpy, bakes like a dream and is a dirty talker is the stuff of my dreams! He truly was amazing but I'm sorry to say it's because he was amazing I couldn't like the h. I'm not a fan of deception powering the plot and she basically lied from beginning to end, adding little lies until i wanted ti smack her.
This is entirely my preference and ruined what truly could've been an amazing read
I'll read anything by this author though

This was tooth achingly sweet. My insides were complete mush with 🦋🦋🦋 while reading this. I enjoyed it a lot.
BUT, but as resilient as Reese was, I think what she did, the lie of omission, was very cowardly and just unnecessary. I believe what bothered me most about it was that it did not fit her personality.

To also add, I got kind of emotional when Reese voiced her self-deprecating thoughts to her mom near the end of the book because... well same. It's really hard coming to terms with failure, and it's extra hard when it's constant failure. Coming second best when you give your all, when you're technically doing everything right, especially when you feel like there's extraneous expectations from others for you to succeed (even IF it's all in your head- anxiety anyone?), absolutely fucking sucks. I truly, wholeheartedly resonated with that.

It's high time we start normalizing asking others for help, it is not the same as relying on someone, or codependency. Everyone sometimes needs help, and that is OKAY.

Holy cake pops

For my first read on Kindle Unlimited, The Sweetest Fix was amazing. Goodness, the steamy sexy parts were up there, oh my lord. I had such a fantastic time reading this and goodness this was simply amazing.

I kind of loved the integration of a bakery and how the combination of a dancer and a baker would come to be. It was sweet and sexy and it was amazing. I also loved that instant attraction between Reese and Leo and also the sexy talk? God damn chef's kiss. Seriously, who doesn't love a handsome, sexy hunky baker man-bear who practically worships Reese from their very first meeting? It was cute and amazing and I had such a fun time reading The Sweetest Fix.

Sweet, sexy and just delightful! I am always up for anything Tessa Bailey writes and The Sweetest Fix was no exception. As soon as I saw it had a bearded, grumpy baker and a sweet dancer, I was all over the idea. And Leo and Reese did not dissapoint. I loved this short treat, it has everything I enjoy in Tessa's books, especially a delicious dirty talker, a burning hot chemistry between the couple and an adorable happy ending. Really, really enjoyed this one!!

When Tessa Bailey has a new release, it's like the world must stop because I'm about to open up that book and completely lose myself. And The Sweetest Fix is no different. Leo and Reese. *sigh. Leo and Reese. The dancer and the baker. Like, who comes up with these things?? Tessa Bailey, that's who! LOL! Reese has her one shot to audition for the a Broadway choreographer but because of a late-arriving letter and traveling snafus, misses it. Thanks to advice from a Pikachu, she hunts down his son, a baker, who has a strained relationship with his father, to see if she can finagle an "in' with his father through him. But at that meeting with Leo in his bakery, the connection is immediate. And electric! Leo, who can't stand talking and prefers his dough to people, is captivated by the dancer even though he's wary. And Reese finds she can't use Leo to get her chance to audition with his father. But there's still the matter of that lie. And their attraction.

Oh wow. This book is funny. It's witty. The banter. The banter. The banter. Tessa Bailey never lets me down with the hilarious dialogue and sweet, emotional moments between her characters. And then don't even get me started on the dirty talk. Why is it that the strong, don't-like-people types are always the dirtiest talkers? Lawd, their THE BEST!! This book was both sweet and hot. And all the while it had my stomach cramping because I knew the fallout of Reese's lie had to happen. I just loved it. LOVED IT! I needed this book. Once again, Tessa Bailey proved why she's one of the best romance authors out here and why she's one of my auto-buy authors.

This wasn't my favorite Tessa Bailey book but it definitely has her trademark SUPER Steamy scenes. I loved the NYC setting and that we get to know more about the dance world and audition process. I thought the main characters were well matched and really admired Reese's pursuit of making it as a professional dancer on her own terms. When she misses an audition she considers trying to make friends with the director's baker son, Leo but the chemistry between them is off the charts and she refuses to take advantage of him. I love a male baker lead! My only problem with this book was it felt a little rushed and I wasn't a fan of how the third act breakup went down (a little too dramatic for me). Good on audio narrated by Ava Erickson and Gabriel Spires.

Many thanks to Jen for convincing me to give The Sweetest Fix a try with her rave review because this book is now a favorite of mine! I loved it so so much! I'm not new to Tessa Bailey's books but it's been a while since I've picked up anything new. The Sweetest Fix reminded me why I used to like her books so much! I also thought this book had a softness and warmth to it that was really well balanced out by the high-heat. It's delightful and I had ALL the fuzzy feelings while reading this book. Reese is a dancer with dreams of being on Broadway. When she wins an audition with a respected choreographer, she's sure it's finally her time to shine. Unfortunately, Reese misses the audition. So she decides to find Leo at his bakery, the choreographer's son, to help her beg for another chance. When she meets Leo, however, sparks fly between them and she refuses to go through with her plan. Instead, she decides to stick it out and audition for as many roles as she possibly can. I really really loved the characters in this book. I loved that Reese didn't easily give up on her dreams. It was also really refreshing to see how strong of her bond she had with her mom. When things were low, she would talk to her mother and seek her advice and I loved that. Leo, too, was terrific. The man had me swooning with how quiet, gruff, and cuddly he was. He was totally 100% into Reese and it was the cutest thing ever. Oh, and did I mention that he is a baker?? I love that romance authors keep blessing me with these baker heroes because that's all my heart desires. Also, Leo is the king of dirty-talking, which let me tell you, was the most unexpected thing ever, but I was here for it! Their romance is truly one of the sweetest I've read in a while. Yes, it does take place on a pretty quick timeline, but it worked for me and I really did believe in their connection. They have these nap dates together and I just want to know, where can I find a teddy bear boyfriend who can bake and will take nap dates with me?? Because I want! I also liked how the conflict was handled in the book. It made sense for this couple and made their happily-ever-after all the more satisfying. Highly recommend this one!

Olvidable.

The Sweetest Fix was just what my heart needed. I was feeling a little down with everything going on in the world and the holidays and a wonderful friend suggested I give this one a try. Her recommendation couldn't have been more perfect. This was such a sweet and swoony love story that I was able to devour very quickly. It's instalove to the max, but it completely worked and I totally fell for Leo and Reese. Leo, Leo, Leo - oh my he was such a big grumpy sweetheart cinnamon roll. Tessa Bailey continues to bring ALL the heat and Leo's dirty talk pretty much melted my kindle. I do wish that the bulk of the novel wouldn't have had Reese's secret hanging over it, but even if I don't agree with her decision, I can understand why she felt compelled to make that choice. The epilogue was adorable and I had the biggest smile on my face when I finished.

*** Book Q & A***

* How did the book make you feel?: This book was adorable and inspirational in the way only Bailey’s books uniquely are.
* How do you feel about how the story was told?: It follows one girl’s mishap-ridden journey to NYC to make it as a Broadway dancer. She meets the H, Leo to use him to meet his father, but abandons the plan when she starts falling for him. I loved the way the story was told, but wanted to shake Reese for not being more forthcoming.
* What did you think about the main characters?: I loved Leo. He was very cagey and distrustful. I had a hard time picturing him, though. I also loved Reese for standing by her convictions.
* Which parts of the book stood out to you?: The scenes between these two were OTT hot.
* What themes/tropes did you detect in the story?: Relationship despite secrets, opposites attract, grumpy vs. sunshine
* What did you think about the ending?: I loved it. I thought what Leo did to Reese was very messed up and self-centered, though I understood his motivations. She was dishonest, but she never used him and she tried to do the right thing. He beats himself up and grovels a lot. I loved that Reese made it her own way. But if she wouldn’t have made it on her own, would they have ever reunited? So did she really forgive him?
* What is your impression of the author?: This author is a one-click!
