Author Leigh Anne Fortner's wrote her children's book, "The Light", in rhyme. In sweet innocence the sun freely gives its warmth and light to the world, to ladybugs and ants, trees and plants. Fortner takes you on a beautiful journey with a child enjoying nature, which leads to a special moment with her mother, and a wonderful surprise as their love silently touches others, who remember and embrace the "Light".
The artist captures the spirit of the author's message to a tee. I loved the colors and softness of the pictures.

What a lovely way to introduce a young child to poetry! I discovered it just in time for Poetry Month.

Preschoolers will love the soft and happy colorful illustrations and the crisp rhymes. A little boy is enjoying the bright sunshine as he explores plants, flowers, and all creatures big and small. He wanders off and his mother is worried until she finds him.

A parallel story unfolds as a newly widowed grandmother watching from the window is inspired by the scene to take action. The author reminds the reader that God's light and goodness shines within us and we should share that gift.

Recommended for parents who would like to teach their young children this message.

Sweet, rhyming story filled with love and warmth. The book reminds us that sometimes a simple act can brighten someone's day. Through the rhyming text, the author conveys love, God's love and Christ's love. The illustrations are pastel soft with an almost watercolor feel to them. They compliment the story wonderfully. There are lots of cute bugs in the story as well. This would be great as a read along or as a bedtime story.

Jesus, the Light of the World

From this story, we all can learn to share the love that Christ has given to us. This illustrates the love of Christ as extensive--past, present, and future and that Christ is the Light of the world. Excellent rhymes and colorful illustrations. Highly recommend!

This is a beautifully written book about God’s love. The authors shows how the sun shines on all - humans and animals, even the ants. She shows how people’s lives are intertwined and in the end never forget that God’s love is always there. It was a really sweet read. Very touching.

This self-published Christian-themed book has pretty illustrations. The rhyming poem that accompanies the pictures has a positive message about God's love for all creatures.
