All’s fair in love and war, right? But what happens when the line between the two becomes blurred?

From the moment I laid eyes on Massimo Accardi, I could feel the spark between us. He’s dark, brooding, and more than a little dangerous. But when I wake up trapped in Accardi’s house - with him holding me captive as punishment for crimes my father commited - I start to question my sanity. I’m his prisoner. But with him I’m freer than I’ve ever been.

Alessandra Giuliani is not what I was expecting. Instead of a spoiled Mafia Princess, I begin to find common ground with the intelligent, sexy young woman in my care. But I can’t just forget how her father brutally murdered my family ten years ago. Will fate force me to choose between love and revenge?

With time running out for Massimo and Alessandra, a shock discovery throws everything they thought they knew into doubt.

Read on to see if the bond Massimo and Alessandra have forged can withstand the challenges they face.

ARC received for review

This is book two but there is absolutely no cross over with the other books, so don't worry if you haven't read them. Or if you're like me and read them out of order.

This was a great idea with lots of chemistry, sex, a little romance, and very little violence but the end was really rushed. Then the ending was just meh.

I've got this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is my second book by Anna Ray and I have to say it's getting better! From the "underworld" of mafia business to steamy times!

I think Anna is finding her way in this and I expect to see huge things from her.

This story kind of reminded me of Beauty And The Beast, but make the Beast nice.
To be honest the thing I expected to be true or happen, did. But it didn't make the story less likeable or anything like that. I truly enjoyed this story, because otherwise I wouldn't have finished it in a day, right?

I loved but sometimes disliked the fast paced storyline and decisions of characters. I get it, if you are writing a standalone you kind of have to be "quicker". There were just parts when I thought "Oh, this is way too quick" and other times I thought "This is moving slowly", but overall I truly enjoyed the book.

I'm a sucker for dark mafia romance with truly steamy scenes and this book got that for me wonderfully!!!

A very entertaining read. Great attraction. Plenty of action. Violence. Steamy sex. Hot alpha male. Likeable female. A surprising twist. Well told.

Trapped is book two in the Mafia Sinners series by Anna Ray. Were introduced to characters Massimo Accardi and Alessandra Giuliana who just seem to have a spark, even though they don’t meet under the best of circumstances. Massimo has been looking for the killer of his family for years, but when he finds out that Alessandra’s father could have something to do with it, he is not only going to make him pay, but also her. Here we have a dark and brooding character, met with a fiery and sassy woman who wants to get out from under her father rule.

This was a wonderfully written, mafia romance, which has enough action and sexy scenes to make you keep turning the pages. We see the development of Massimo and Alessandra’s relationship as more secrets come to light and both of them are left questioning their role in their respective families. Alessandra isn’t your typical mafia princess and definitely has her own will and mind. I liked that she told Massimo exactly what she thought and even though she was nervous, told her father what she thought.

I also liked that Massimo wasn’t that mean at all to Alessandra and tried to make her as comfortable as possible as he plotted and planned.

Overall, a good, light mafia read by a new author for me.

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊

*I was kindly sent this in exchange for an honest review via Netgalley*
This was quite a bizarre read. The writing style was nothing like I remembered from Anna Ray before. Everything was written in a very "explaining/telling" way that made me feel like the character was talking to the reader like they were an idiot. She would write a really nice moment between them that suggested they were getting closer and then she would ruin it by adding something on the end like "now we're getting closer." Like - DUH - that was made clear by the conversation that was happening - you know?
Also the pacing was very off - the main climax and drama of the plot happened waaay too far from the end. I swear a solid 25% of the book at the end was after the main plot had ended and was just a very longwinded closing up of all the small threads that could have been done in a few lines and not a few chapters.
I did like the premise and the twist in the plot. So that was good. But I feel like we didn't get enough of a build in their relationship, it felt quite insta-love and I know this is a short story but I think it all came down to the pacing and if that had been better then we would have gotten more of their relationship development and therefore liked them more. They didn't seem to have much personality outwith family, mafia and each other and I wanted them to be deeper.
Overall, not great but I am going to try the next one in the series soon and hopefully that will be better paced.

This was a new author for me and my least favourite trope- I don't like mafia romances, I read it for book challenge.
I liked the writting style, I was intrigued by the story, which was high paced and captivating.
I was glad there wasn't too much violence, and there was high level of love aspect.

I really loved this book. I do not know why I love the Mafia Romance Genre so much but it's really something that I am enjoying and with books like this it will be something really easy to continue into the future.

First things first: it has a great story with lots of twists. I enjoyed it so much that I finished it in one day. I just couldn't stop reading it even though I have to get up really early in the mornings.

Massimo is intelligent, attractive, smooth talking, a gets what he wants and he knows it kind of guy. Even though you don't want to be attracted to a guy like this you always end up being so just simply because of his charm. It just goes to show you that charm is a dangerous thing indeed lol. He's a second in command to one of the top mob bosses in Chicago and does a dang good job at it. He's had a very tragic last ten years because of something that has happened in his past so it makes it very hard for him to trust people. Especially women. You just never know what their true intentions for being with him are.

Alessandra is a somewhat spoiled mafia princess who isn't like most of the other mafia princesses but yet at the same time has no problem in throwing her father's name around when she's threatened. However, being somewhat spoiled aside, she's also clearly compassionate, intelligent, witty, and does have some common sense.

Massimo and Alessandra do not meet in the normal way of things and she especially doesn't for-see what the future immediately lies for her when dealing with Massimo. However, sometimes life is all about baptism by fire and that is exactly what ends up happening with these two.

I really enjoyed the first book and I really really enjoyed this one. My one and only complaint (not really a complaint, should say it's just not my preference) are the love scenes. I am not into being made to play a submissive during making love and I am not a fan of seeing that in books. Like I said, just my preference so not going to knock it because of it. Other than that, super hot, I loved the story. I enjoyed it immensely and I actually cannot wait for the next book to come out.

I think it's well written and it has enough twists and turns to keep you from getting bored. Highly highly enjoyable. I could not have been more pleased. This is starting to really become one of my favorite romance genres.

I was given this ARC to read and to review by Book Sirens. All opinions are honest and of my own volition.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. This has not impacted upon my review; thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and Anna Ray for providing me with a copy of this book.

Everyone who loves romance loves a mafia romance right? I know I do which is why I snapped at the chance to read this book. I went in expecting it to follow the typical kidnap mafia romance trope but was pleasantly surprised that it differed in ways.

The book is set in Chicago where Massimo is essentially a co-don of the mafia along with his godfather after his entire family where murdered 10 years before. After discovering it was their rival, Giuliani, who murdered his family and that he has been hiding a daughter, Alessandra. Massimo decides to kidnap and ransom her in order to draw Giuliani out.

Usually at this point you get the usual tortured hero and indifference to the kidnapped heroine, but Anna Ray flipped that by showing us that Massimo wasn't all that in love with his current life and Alessandra is actually a pretty normal 21-year old who loves Marvel movies and watching TikToks (who else can relate?). Once they start spending time together doing normal things, their relationship evolves beyond that of a typical 'stockholm syndrome' trope so often seen in these kinds of stories.

I really enjoyed this book for a quick and nice read. Although you typically associate the mafia with dark elements, this book was a lot lighter which I liked. The relationship between Alessandra and Massimo was also well developed and made sense, rather than just becoming a 'situationship'. Alessandra was a strong independent heroine who didn't just submit to the will of the men around her which I love to see in romance books. There was also a bit of a twist at the end which made the HEA all the more nicer!

For some reason, completely unknown, I've managed to read this series in the wrong order. I had books 3 and 2 to read and read book 3 first. It doesn't actually matter (other than for my own personal sense of order) because although they are a series, they aren't the type of series that follows on. In fact, I'm not sure that there are any major reoccurring characters. Rather the series is about the world that they all inhabit, the shady Mafia world.
Trapped is a classic kidnap and the kidnapper and kidnapee fall in love story. I've read this idea a few times now and I've seen it done with varying success. In the case of this story, it works well. Massimo, despite being desperate for revenge, is actually clearly a nice guy. This is a dark romance because of the world he inhabits rather than his character. Right from the beginning, although he plans to get revenge, it's quite clear that he won't be able to follow through with all of his plans. His captive, Alessandra, is never really in danger and it's obvious that they would be together anyway if they had met normally. I think that this helps with the story. Often, when it's a case of one of the characters (usually the female) being held against their will, there's always a question of how much her feelings are influenced by the captivity. That simply isn't the case here.
I really enjoyed this instalment of the Mafia Sinners series, as I have the others. I hope that there might be more to come in the future.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Trapped by Anna Ray is Massimo's and Alessandra's story. It is not your typical mafia romance. Massimo's parents were killed ten years ago and he has been waiting to get revenge. Upon hearing a mob boss in Chicago called the hit he knows what he needs to do. He plans on using his daughter Alessandra as bait and extra grief when he goes after Stefano Giuliani.

Unfortunately things do not go as planned. While he does not allow her to leave the house Massimo treats Alessandra very well. While very unconventional they develop feelings. How can he get revenge if he loves the girl?

This story flows quickly. There are secrets and deceptions that come into play as Anna Ray twists the plot. While the characters are mobsters or relatives I am not sure I would call this a mafia romance. Massimo wants out; he wants to be legal. With Alessandra's love and support he might just get there; if he can survive.

I really like the character Massimo. He is a man driven by ghosts. I couldn't help but feel for him. Even though he is holding Alessandra he still goes out of his way to make her happy. He later shows how romantic he can be. The couple does have chemistry. Alessandra is made to look like a mafia princess. She has a backbone and a brain. She knows when to be strong and when to allow her vulnerabilities show.

Trapped can be read as a standalone even though it is book 2 in the series. After all the couple go through it does end happily. The story is filled with romance punctuated with thrills and action.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with!
Bad boy….check
Bod boy’s crazy brother/friend…check
Bad boy’s Kryptonie…check ….check and check
By the time you’ve figured out who is who and how deep hate can run, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!
Can’t say I didn’t warn you.
It’s edgy yet always within boundaries of morality. It’s compelling, like Nutella, bacon and oreo cookies had a threesome and this story is their lovechild. Adventures of Massimo and Alessandra. Massimo has searched for the killers of his parents and sister for nearly 10 years. Finally, just a small ray of hope comes to light about who killed his family as part of the Mafia he is all out for revenge and all about business, so he decides to hit them where it hurts take their only daughter who has been in the shadows for so long and she wants freedom. Alessandra is beautiful, smart, and innocent of all her father’s dealings. She wants freedom from her parent’s rules if only for a moment so she lies to them about where she is headed and gets kidnapped, but is /will it be enough for Massimo, will her father cave or will he leave her out to dry and can the two of them find any type of peace and happiness?

A newer author for me, so of course there was some skepticism going into this story, but what a surprise! The development of these two characters was outstanding and left nothing for questioning. And, though it was a mafia romance, it also has its own style with few similarities between the other mafia romances.

Alessandra Giuliani was not your stereotypical mafia princess as she has always stood out wherever she has gone. She is determined to begin a life and career of her own, away from her overprotective father, by attending college in pursuit of her degree. Was she spoiled, of course, but what daughter isn’t? But, she has her own personality and will stand up for herself in a pleasant way. So when she is kidnapped by her father’s rival, she goes into defense mode.

Massimo Accardi is the only member left of his family as his father, mother, and little sister were murdered by the mafia. Carlo DeLuca and his wife, took Massimo in as their own, but he was dead set on avenging his mother and sisters death ever since Carlo informed him Mr. Guiliani was the man who pulled the trigger. So, he kidnaps his daughter and makes his demand for revenge.

This story is a whirlwind of lies, deceit, passion, and desire mixed into one. The ultimate betrayal will leave you questioning the events that transpired throughout the entire story, but the ending makes up for all the hurt and sorrow felt while reading the unfortunate events. Anna Ray does an amazing job leaving no question unanswered with a happy-ever-after ending. Will definitely read more of her work!

After reading "Tempted" by Anna Ray, I decided to read another of her mafia books, "Trapped". I really wish I hadn't. This book had so many grammatical errors (both in the author's writing and in the dialogue between characters) that I cringed each time I saw a mistake. I totally understand if the author is trying to portray a certain vibe by demonstrating that the characters speak incorrectly, but that is not what was done in this case - it is as if the author herself speaks incorrectly. And where were the editors in all this? My english teachers all through school are probably rolling over in their graves right now.

Massimo was 19 when his family was murdered and he is seeking revenge. Even after 10 years, he wants nothing more than to kill the person that murdered his family. His mentor finally finds out who killed Massimo's family and gives that information to Massimo. Massimo decides to kidnap the killer's daughter just to make him sweat. What he didn't expect was to begin to have feelings for the 21 year old daughter, Alessandra.

This book had potential. As with every short story, the character development didn't have a chance to fully take place. But I just honestly couldn't get past the grammatical errors - it made reading this book more of a chore than pleasure.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.

Massimo Accardi loved the family that took him in after the murder of his parents and his young sister when he was nineteen years old, that family were his Godparents, gang boss Carlo Deluca and his wife Teresa, Carlo ruled half of Chicago, the other half being ruled by Stefano Giuliani. Massimo knew that he was to take over from Carlo when the time came but he had sworn revenge for the deaths of his family. Massimo was twenty nine years old when Carlos to him that he had found who the murderer was ....Stefano Giuliani.
Stefano had a daughter and Massimo hatched a plan, he would let him know what it was like to loose a loved one and then he would kill him.
Alessandra Giuliani wasn't the usual pampered gang princess, she was was beautiful, clever, spirited but kind. Massimo's plan to kidnap Alessandra was successful, she was his captive in a beautiful house and he treated her well but why didn't her father respond to Massimo's requests ? did he value his own life and his empire more than his daughters, what father leaves his daughter in the hands of his enemy for weeks without trying to rescue her ?
This story follows the weeks that Alessandra and Massimo were together in the house, the instant sparkle that turned to love.
This is a lovely story of gang warfare and love.

I am definitely hooked on Anna Ray’s books! This is the second book I have read of hers and I will definitely be looking for more from her. This is the story of Massimo and Alessandra. Massimo has been looking for the killers of his parents and sister for 10 years. When information finally comes to light that the responsible person has a secret daughter, Massimo is out revenge. Massimo is your typical mafia member – very stubborn, very smart and of course it’s all business – doesn’t matter that Alessandra is a beautiful, young innocent woman (or is it?) Alessandra knows what her father does for a living and is tired of living under the strict rules and guidelines. So what happens when she lies to her parents about where she is going? She gets kidnapped – only she’s not aware of it at first and once it sets in, she doesn’t really mind.

This story has everything you want – deception, lies, action, drama, adventure, chemistry, passion, loyalty and family. It was a great story, great characters and I could not put it down. I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next and will definitely be following her to see what will be coming out.

BOOK REVIEW Templet

3.5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Style: Dark Mafia Romance
Story: 3/5
Enjoyment: 4/5
Dark Level: 1/5
Sexual: GOOD
Triggers: No
Male: Sexy, Alpha
Series:
Pages: Loc. 2554
Kindle Unlimited: Yes

STORY:
I think this was a likable story. Massimo was enticing, and he was out for revenge. Alessandra was sweet but headstrong when she needs to be, definitely not your typical mafia princess. With this being a likable story, the only thing I will say is for my personal taste, it wasn’t that dark for me. It was a good mafia suspense with romance.

CHEMISTRY:
Massimo and Alessandra I liked their chemistry. Watching them connect and seeing him waiting her after abducting her was good to see.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS
There was no one that stood out to me as a secondary character that I would love to see a book about.

Overall, this was a nice read for me. Would have like a darker read but still had action and murder.

***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful.

This book was an enjoyable read. Book 2 of this series even though there was no cross over what so ever with book 1.

For a Mafia book it was pretty tame but then I was ok with that. There wasn't any unnecessary rough treatment or anything like that which was good and nice to see.

Massimo I actually really liked. I am a total softy actually. He had enough manly man stuff going on and his treatment of Alessandra was really nice to read for a Mafia book.

Their chemistry was really good from the start and I found him meeting her the way he did was a lot better than just being kidnapped out of know where.

I enjoyed their journey actually. Their cooking together, talking and watching movies was really nice and Massimo finding out what he had been missing out on.

The ending seemed a bit rushed I have to say. It was still good but when you find out what Massimo wants to ask Alessandra at the end I was kind of like really.... that's it....? LOL oh well.

Overall, another enjoyable read but a very talented writer. Easy to read and fall in to the story is what I love and I got it again here.

This was an emotional story about love, lies, and revenge
by sewsummore

Massimo vowed revenge on the man responsible for murdering his parents and younger sister. Carlo DeLuca and his wife had been best friends with his parents and had taken the teenage Massimo in and cared for him as their own. Having no children of their own Carlo had taught him everything he knew about the criminal underworld of Chicago and made him his heir. When the man responsible for the death of his family was discovered, Massimo made plans to destroy him and his empire. He had a daughter Alessandra and Massimo kidnaps her intending to use her to get his revenge. However, things do not go as planned and her father refuses to take the bait. . Massimo never expected to fall for Allessandra, and he never expected that the man responsible was closer to him than he knew. The ending of this story was a surprise to me, but the ending was everything I could have asked for! A wonderful love that grew under difficult circumstances!

This was okay. I thought this was very typical of your mafia romance/mafia princess story line. I really liked the Massimo and Alessandra’s characters. Massimo was out for revenge and the best way to get to his enemy was through his daughter, Alessandra. Alessandra was a trapped mafia princess, overprotective parents, ignorant to her fathers mob life and oblivious to the dangers around her. They came together after realizing that the world they were in wasn’t what they wanted. They wanted a different life and to get it, they had to work together for some answers so they could move on.

I liked the story, it was just pretty basic. I felt like I knew the story before it really happened. Maybe it needed a little more meat to it, or a longer period for Massimo and Alessandra to get together. I’m not sure. It just seemed too short of a story. I just needed more. It still had a lot of spice and a hint of danger. I’d recommend this for mafia readers, especially those looking for a shorter read.

Another good read but light in the mafia touch, some violence but nothing too bad and the underlying story is really all romance and slow burn feelings

Massimo is told about the man who murdered his family 10 years prior, and that he has a secret daughter. He decides to kidnap her and make the man responsible pay for the deaths of his parents and sister.

Allessandra is in her final year at college and whilst she is aware of what her father does, she doesn’t involve herself and isn’t a typical mafia princess.

During her captivity they begin to have feelings for each other and over time this becomes more important to Massimo than his revenge.

The story ran well, though I did feel it ended abruptly even in the epilogue

I really enjoyed this story!

The storyline was good and well developed but for me it was a little "soft" in places for the Mafia!

The characters were great but at times there was a little too much detail and that did detract from the flow of the story, for example the book has the ingredients for cooking, etc and it really spoiled the flow in places and I don't think it was really needed - it could have been a much smoother read and I wanted a romantic story not a cooking course!

This is the second book in the series but it is fine to be read as a stand alone.

Generally it was a fun read and don't get me wrong, I did enjoy it but it left me wanting more - it is 4 stars from me for this one!

Trapped is a "dark" mafia romance, that could have gone a little darker for my liking. Although Massimo kidnaps Alessandra as revenge against her father, he is actually a rather considerate captor and goes out of his way to make her comfortable and ensure she enjoys her stay with him.

On the whole, I really enjoyed this book. I found the writing style to be fast-paced and engaging. The plot had plenty of intrigue and the ending took me by surprise, in a good way. I did find Massimo's character bounced around quite a bit. His switch from being caring and compassionate, to proposing a sexual relationship with himself as Alessandra's master, felt a little bit forced and I would have liked slightly more overlap between the two sides of his personality. Still, I really enjoyed watching the two characters' relationship develop and thought the overall story was entertaining.

I received this arc for an honest review.
This is book two in this author’s series but has nothing to do with the first book. In this book, Massimo is looking for the person who killed his family when he was younger. Now believing that Alessandria Giuliana's father was the person who did the killing he has decided to kidnap her for revenge and ask for a ransom. The problem comes when her father does not call back after receiving his terms.
Now the two of them are together and Massimo has started to like her and after some time she has begun to like him as well. Later you find out that her father was not behind his family’s death but you do find out who was. Who also gets to see how everything ends for that person and whether the two of them will stay together? Overall an okay book. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. Massimo's parents and sister were killed 10 years ago and his godfather who is one the 2 mob bosses in Chicago took him in a gave him a job. After years of searching they finally find who killed his family. Finally he'll get his revenge. Alessandra is so tired of her mob boss dad treating her like a child and sneaks out with her best friend to party. When her friend ditches she accepts a ride home from the gorgeous man she's been talking to. Only to find herself kidnapped to be used as leverage against her father.

This is a steamy mob romance. I loved Massimo and Alessandra's story. He's a smoking hot mobster and despite her father being a mob boss Alessandra is the girl next door. Wonderful characters and great storyline. Highly recommend!!!

Once again Anna delivers a dark mafia romance with twists you would not expect.
Massimo is looking for revenge of his family's death. He has been told who was responsible and now has an idea how to get his revenge.
Alessandra is the daughter of a very strong mafia leader. Is her life at stake because of what her father did?
Massimo takes Alessandra and tells her father what he wants. However Alexandra's father does not give into Massimo's demands.
What happens next takes you by complete surprise. There are so many twists that you are sitting on the edge of your seat. Will her father finally come through? Will Massimo get his revenge? How will Alessandra's life play out in this need for revenge?
This is must for a lover of mafia romance.

Alessandra is a mafia princess. Massimo kidnaps her to make her father pay for killing his mother, father, and sister. Carlo and his wife take in Massimo and raised him as one of their own. So he kidnaps Alessandra who is a great character strong can hold her own witty, intelligent, and resourceful. Massimo wants to get revenge for his family but will Alessandra get in the way. Massimo is mafia and I can see why he wants revenge but are things really as they seem? I love mafia stories and when you have strong female and male it just makes it better. This is a great story and it was refreshing in many ways. I was entertained and I just loved it.

A decent read, but could have been a bit more...

This wasn’t a bad read. It was an okay story. I figured out the plot by the 2nd chapter. I was a little confused though. No one really behaved accordingly as far as a mafia read. The end made me go, huh?! There’s a power vacuum...

This came across as a bit of a wanna be mafia story with a kind of hostage situation with a bit of bdsm and romance.

When I see dark mafia, I expect a little more violence and a little less domestication. The bdsm kinda came outta nowhere. It was light, but just felt a little out of left field.

I guess I just feel like there should have been a bit more meat to the story. A bit more action. I just expected a bit more...

I read this book after reading the first book in the Mafia Sinners series. Although there was no cross-over in these two books, I would say that this one was definitely more mafia based which I really enjoyed. Saying that however, I definitely did not enjoy this book as much as Tempted (book 1). The first 50% of this book was overall a good read: I loved the chemistry between the characters and the steamy scenes were great. It was about half way through the book that I think the book began to get fairly boring. Although a more intense, action-themed ploy was attempted, I found the conflict fairly boring and lost interest in the book. Overall, I really enjoyed the romance in this book however think some scenes left me wishing for more.

Clever and unique

The main theme is not the mafia but lots of bad guys and scary situations are involved.
Massimo is seeking revenge for the brutal deaths of his parents and sister. How he proceeds to accomplish this is just the beginning of a very adventurous and sensual journey that starts out as revenge but leads to his discovering the truth of his family's death and his experiencing love. This story has both heartwarming and heartbreaking moments with just the right amount of sizzle and laughter. The kidnapping of Alessandra does not go as planned and creates lots of unique situations for them. The twists and turns of good and evil keep you guessing for some time. I enjoy the unexpected and this is a very clever and unique love story.
