When a billionaire industrialist and potential mayoral candidate turns up dead, it sets off a media and political firestorm. Ember and her Sheriff husband Cedric must contend with an overbearing FBI agent, a possessed first grader, and a serial killer with twisted method to their madness.
As the body count climbs higher, Cedric’s best friend Hanky-Bob becomes the chief suspect. How can Ember clear his name when she’s being shut out of the case by Agent R.U. Reddy, FBI?
It’s going to take every ounce of wit Ember has, and a dash of magic, to unravel the clues and stop the this demented serial killer before he strikes the ones she holds dear. Can Ember solve the case and save the day?
Or will she give in to the dark forces encroaching on her very existence?
This series is turning out to be one if my all time favorite series. I just love Ember and Cedric and the other wonderful characters in the series. Each book gets better and better. I really enjoy reading them and can hardly wait for the next one!

This latest case deals with a serial killer and a little something to make it more difficult to figure it out. The town’s current mayor announces his retirement and throws the little town into utter chaos! It seems that everyone wants to become the new Mayor, and tempers flare. So when real estate developer and potential candidate, Ron Olberman, becomes the first victim, Ember McNair is ready to jump on the case with her usual vigor! But FBI Agent Robert Ulysses Reddy takes control of the investigation since she is not part of law enforcement. Now how can she perform a thorough investigation before someone else dies?
Ember’s Sheriff husband Cedric turns out to be buddies with the FBI agent, and gets her back on the case, at least long enough to find a clue. Can she clear Cedric’s best friend Hanky-Bob who becomes the chief suspect? Will Ember solve the murders despite the interference?
Another good mystery to solve in this fun series. The story line is clever but nothing gets past Ember when she’s on the case! Grab your copy and race to gather the clues!
An old buddy of Cedric’s comes to town. RU Reddy is a jerk of good ole boy description who tells stories in front of new wife Ember about bar crawls and skanky women stories from times Cedric and Reddy shared in their past.
Reddy never really liked mechanic pal Hanky, Cedric’s old pal, and seems determined to find him guilty of murder
A twisted killer seems determined to remove several citizens from the county to create his own new image of a hometown- a not uncommon desire with the sudden retirement of the current mayor
Ember becomes more entangled with the criminal investigations, despite the nasty and demeaning attitude of Reddy
Ember and Cedric might solve the murders if they find common ground and work together. The less than familiar and respectful attitude of Cedric towards Ember is not making things easier
More challenges appear to lie ahead for this witchly and crime solving family- if they can hold things together

This is an entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and a fun and unique storyline. Amber is a witch in a small town in Louisiana. Shortly before that she was also reunited with her sister who had been lost in memory. An evil black which stole her husband‘s memories of her and does not remember Amber. They have gone through a lot trying to figure out a way to restore his memories. Read on and see the further adventures of this great cast of characters and story.
Ember is back in book 10 just in time for her toughest case. Her little town has been embroiled in chaos when the mayor decides to retire. Now everyone wants to be mayor and tempers are getting short. When the richest guy in town turns up dead it sets off a firestorm. Ember and her husband, Sheriff Cedric, have to deal with the FBI agent and others in order to get to the bottom of the case.
This is the first book I have read in this series. I will now go and get the rest of them and start from the beginning!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It was a very interesting case with the suspect serial killer. I liked how her husband, Cedric, handled it when the fed tried to kick Ember off the case. The surprise wasn't that Ember was right about the nursery rhyme as the motive, it was that it was twins who were the criminals. Ember saves the last victim in time and catches the second twin. I hope Ember can restore her husband's memories.
This had a wonderful potential to be a great book, but it is book 10 ( I think) in this series. I tried to figure everyone out but without reading the past books I simply was lost. I do however plan to mark this series to read as I said has a great potential to be awesome

Ember does not have in easy with this story. A mayoral race, a murderer, and a FBI agent in the way, luckily he's buddies with her husband, she's going to have to work even harder to solve the mystery. The story keeps you pulled in needed to know who the guilty party. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A great well written fun cozy mystery story. The engaging storyline was smooth flowing with drama, mystery and a fight for mayoral election. The characters are interesting, well developed, are full of emotions, and have incredible supporting characters. I voluntarily read and reviewed this incredible ARC.
This was a tricky case! But with Ember and Cedric on it, there is no way it wouldn’t be solved. I hope that Cedric’s memories get taken care of soon. I hate that he and Ember aren’t like they used to be. I really love this series and the characters in it.
Ok. I like the story but .....bad editing-actually used a name from a different series, continuity errors, factual errors-identical twins have the same DNA, etc. Did anyone review/edit this when finished?
Another wonderful book with a FBI named RU Ready that doesn’t think women are able to do anything but he was taught a few things with the murder being caught and her friend being found alive. Lots of action A must read
Everyone (except the local doctor!) wants to be the new mayor when the long serving current mayor decides to retire. But when Ron Olberman introduces his own candidate, things start going downhill, and even more so for Ron, whose corpse is found in a field, the very next day.
This series get more and more intriguing and I am really enjoying it. Can't wait for the next book!
