Sooooo good.

20210112-142624

Wow this book was so good I was hooked from the first page. I've never read this author before but after reading the blurb I had to give it a go. I went in with an open mind and I'm a sucker for stepbrother forbidden type of romance. But this had a mystery kind of twist and it made the book so good. I was on the edgy of my seat through the whole book I was dying to know what was goin to happen. Then the ending omg WHY!!!! cliffys kill me but this one really did me in im so gutted it stopped there I need more!!!! So I'm dying for the next book really.

20210112-142341

The characters in this book are great Navana is a brilliant character she hasn't had an easy life but find the Ashfords made her life so much better. But there of a lot she does know and needs to find out. Her being in luv with Talon her stepbrother doesn't make things easy but you can help who you luv and she luv him so much she is willing to throw away everything she has for Talon. Talon is just has crazy about her as she is him. But he just fought things harder until he couldn't anymore. The relationship between Navana and Talon isn't the only thing the family have to deal with. There are enemies out there that want to get back at the Ashfords so things are about to get rocky.

7ffd54af342d866c7817aa22d6873758

I would highly recommend this book. The story was so good and like I said at the beginning I was hooked. It was well written and the characters are so good. It wasn't just Navana and Talon that were great. The rest of the Ashford brother are so interesting and there stories so far are great and I've been left dying for more.

This is the debut novel for Willa Watkins and she hit it out of the park with this story. Between Dusk & Dawn is the first book in the Rosavale Series and it is Talon (love that name btw) and Navia's love story.
BD&D is about forbidden love and is completely angst riddled, from the very start this book has you on the edge wanting something more to happen between Talon and Navia. Their chemistry and love for one another is off the charts HOT, HOT, HOT and panty wetting.
This read does have a wonderful plot line and story that comes with a great twist and a cliffhanger that will have you gutted with how it is left hanging. I can't wait to continue this series and see what happens with Talon and Navia and the rest of the characters in this world. As a debut novel Willa has made a name for herself and is rocking it with this series.

Amount of sex 4 / 5
How explicit are the sex scenes 4 / 5
Story 4 / 5
Overall: 4 / 5

Between Dusk & Dawn is the first book in the Rosavale series written by author Willa Watkins. Each book in this series tells the story of a different couple. However, there is an underlining storyline that continues throughout the series. Therefore, I recommend reading the series in numerical order to fully understand the storyline.

Between Dusk & Dawn is the author’s debut novel, and it tells the story of Navia and Talon Ashford. There are five Ashford brothers; Devan, Aiden, Ethan, Kai, and Talon. Navia was adopted when she was roughly thirteen years old, and Talon has always been close to her. Despite being adopted siblings, they always had feelings for each other. As the years went by, they finally couldn’t ignore their feelings any longer.

Will their family accept their love for each other?

What a way to debut!! Willa Watkins has written a steamy suspenseful romance that is going to suck you in and not let you go.

This is the debut story to a series and there is a disclaimer at the beginning letting you know that it is the start of something bigger which means there will be a cliffhanger, but you aren’t going to mind, you are just want to get more of the Ashford family.

This story is the perfect about of all the things you want in a steamy romance. Give this one a chance, I’m really glad I did!

A good start to the series. I did find the book a tad short but still very fun and sexy. Loved Navia and Talon. Their story was somewhat taboo but not too much.

What an amazing debut novel by Willa Watkins, this story was so good, I devoured this book in one sitting, literally I couldn't stop.

I love forbidden romances, but this book had so much more than that. It had suspense, mystery, family secrets, drama, angst and romance with so many steamy scenes.

The plot was amazing with so many twist and turns, the chemistry and forbidden attraction between Talon and Navia was so good. This couple had to face so much, going against family expectations and rules, fighting an invisible enemy and trying to keep the family together.

I don't want to give too much away because honestly this read was an amazing ride and a great start to the series. The ending of this book left me wanting more and now I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Between Dusk and Dawn by Willa Watkins

Just a little alert...the love interests are Navia and Talon...they are bother and sister.ADOPTIVE brother and sister. I didn’t realize that right away and almost gave up on this book, because that would have been to gross for me, and that would have been a shame because it’s a really beautiful love story. The obstacles are what you would expect...the taboo nature of their love that they’ve fought for years, but also there is a mysterious family fued happening as well.
This is a debut novel, but it doesn’t read that way. It’s well paced and the easy to read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this very good read.

Now Navia isa little bit of a brat but kind of understandable. Talon is awesome! Brother and sister on paper by not by blood these two start a secret relationship that blossomed when they were younger. But there are secrets under all the riches. Who is Navia? Who is behind the thefts.
Sneaking around gets hard especially with the way Talon is... fanning myself.. this books ends with HEA but also a cliffhanger.
I look forward to more on the mystery that is the past of the Ashfords.

Talon and Navia are so hot for each other. I really enjoyed the story line. Love me some cowboy book. Navia wasn't my favorite character, she kind of got on my nerves for some reason. 🤣 but overall I enjoyed the story.

Willa Watkins whets the appetite and keeps you hooked, wondering what's really going on in Rosavale.

Navia & Talon's relationship from the beginning is different than most of the step-sibling trope books I've read. Adopted into the Ashford family at around 13, she and Talon have always seen each other as more than a sibling. But as the years go by, Navia becomes frustrated with Talon's reluctance to claim her as his, and by the time she is 19, she has decided that he needs to step up or she's out.

Talon fights his more-than-brotherly affection for Navia hard. But even he can't deny that he is deeply in love with her, and unhappy without her. Fearing social outcry and familial discord, he struggles to hide his feelings until he realises that Navia could actually move on without him. But before they can be together freely, Navia's mysterious past reappears with a vengeance.

With a full cast of diverse characters, this is a book that I couldn't put down easily. There are lots of secrets and mysterious disappearances, and they seem to all center around Navia. I liked the way the story developed, and it sets the series up wonderfully. While I am not into some of the paraphilia introduced in this book, I am definitely interested in how the rest of the Ashford brothers' stories will turn out, especially after that ending!

This debut was well done, and I recommend it.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

(4 stars)

Falling in love and meeting the person that was meant for you while young is hard, its even harder when that person just happens to be your adopted brother. Navia knew there was something different about Talon, she gravitated toward him differently than her other brothers. The two share some stolen moments but each time Talon is wracked with guilt and runs away, eventually just pushing Navia away before she leaves for college. When she comes home on break, Navia is determined to prove to Talon that they belong together, but Talon is just as determined for them to stay apart and go their separate ways. Which will be the victor in this standoff?

If you are not a fan of a bit of taboo, then this is not the read for you. If you are like me and feel a bit of taboo is not a bad thing, then jump in and see if this is up your alley. I really liked all the Talon and Navia drama; add in their super spicy moments and this was a super good read. Now, I was not a fan of the other drama that popped up and is obviously going to carry on into the next story, I get the author was trying to add something more, a bit of mystery and all that, but it just fell a bit flat for me. I give this 4 stars.

This is the debut novel for Willa Watkins, and while it was enjoyable there were some things that I had a hard time wrapping my head around. I’m all for taboo romance, that part was more than fine for me! However I just felt like it was rushed in some parts and slow in others. And honestly I wanted to punch Talon in the face until about 3/4th of the way through the story.

Now let me also note that the plot for this story is great! The Ashford brothers are hardworking and so protective of Navia. I love how much the other brothers love her and want to protect her. There were definitely some extremely steamy moments between Talon and Navia as well.

I definitely think that there are parts of this story that could use some work, but the characters were great, and the plot was intriguing. We’ll see what’s next from the Rosavale series!

I was provided an ARC of this book for an honest review.

This debut novel from Willa surprised me in the best way. I loved the chemistry between Navia and Talon! Can't resist a forbidden love especially one that runs so deep and has grown from the moment they met.

Navia was abandoned and left at a convent at only 3 years old and was adopted by the Ashford family at 13. She's now 19 years old and her love for Talon has reached a precipice. Either they make it official and risk the wrath of their family or move on. She's never felt fully settled amongst the high profile Ashford family even though she knows they love her and have accepted her. As she and Talon work through their relationship issues it slowly comes out that her abandonment may not have been as simple or innocent as she's been told her whole life.

With her brothers by her side, Navia is slowly learning more about her birth family and how the Ashfords may not be who she thought they were either. This story is a perfect set up for the series! You can feel the intensity and drama that's coming as things start unravelling. I don't know why but this book definitely gave me some Flowers in the Attic vibes. Not the plot because truthfully I can't even remember what happened in that book but the way I couldn't put it down because this family was so intriguing to read.

The ending and the rest of the Ashford brothers themselves will definitely leave you craving the next book!

Forbidden Love!

Between Dusk and Dawn is Willa Watkins’ debut novel. I thought it was quite good.

Navia was abandoned at a Catholic Church by her mother when she was 3 and later adopted by the Ashford family. Everyone loved and accepted her as their own. Navia grew closer to one of the brothers and not in a brotherly way. Her and Talons’ relationship grew into something much more regardless of the guilt they felt and how hard they tried to stay away. Letters and emails from an unknown source start showing up regarding past secrets regarding the Ashford family that started to put doubt in Navias mind. Maybe this family isn’t who she thought they were

I’ll be honest, in the beginning I wasn’t a fan of Talon. He seemed too overbearing, too possessive, and a little wishy washy. But further in, I started to see another side of him and understood why he was that way. The love they had for one another was undeniable and passionate and in the eyes of some would be a little forbidden.

I loved the romance, but there’s also a mysterious element that adds to the story which I really liked.

Overall I thought it was well written and I really enjoyed it. I can’t wait to see where this story goes

4/5⭐️ 3.5/5🔥

I have thoughts with this forbidden, suspense romance BECAUSE GIRRRLLLL. I was a bit uncomfy in the beginning until I saw a warning that this wasn’t a “incest romance” and had faith and continued and I AM GLAD.

I went into this blind and well. I liked this a lot more than what I originally thought. I actually LOVED IT, more the plot than Talon and Navia but I really adore there characters and romance

🤍ADOPTED Brother/Sister
🌷Romance Suspense
🤍Forbidden Romance
🌷Revenge Plot/Family Rivalry

Talon and Navia Ashford were raised as brother/sister since she got adopted by the Ashford’s at the age of thirteen. This was spicy, suspense and drama filled. The freaking plot had me turning and turning the pages of my kindle because FAMILY RIVALRY?! I LOVE. The plot however was left hanging and ADHDHAJA, I wanted more.

I felt as if it was spicier however, the scenes were a bit short in the first half of the book. As well as the pacing, it was TOO quick and there were past/other POVs that had me “what the fack” in a goodish way? Kinda, but overall thinking it over and finishing it, it all came together.

Now as a debut author, Ms. Willa was really good. The writing, the suspense, I instantly connected with the forbidden love between Talon & Navia.

Nevia is adopted by the Ashfords as a child after being abandoned in a convent at an early age.
Her brothers are everything to her. Devan, Aiden, Ethan, Talon and Kai. The latter has been missing for years and nobody knows anything about him or where he is.
But there is a special brother in her heart and that is Talon.
From the beginning there has been a special connection between them and in adolescence both took another step in their relationship, starting a game of secretly kisses and touches, although Talon always regretted it and tries to distance himself.
But he can’t stay apart from her very long and soon they start this vicious cycle again: they hook up, Talon regrets it, breaks Nevia’s heart..
Talon couldn’t stop feeling those things for her but he lived in fear since he knew that his brothers weren’t going to accept it since it was difficult for him to accept it. And it is that although Nevia was not his blood sister, she has grown up with them as one more member of the family.
To this drama we have to add the robberies at the ranch, in addition to the notes that Nevia has begun to receive trying to put her against her brothers and everything points to Nevia’s biological family.
We will have to read the next book to see how the plot continues and the next MC is Devan, the oldest and the head of the family.
Súper 🔥the secret encounters between Talon and Nevia.

*Didn’t know I had forgotten to post this review so here goes now.

Wow ok, wasn’t expecting that!
.
This is Willas debut novel and I gotta say I liked it. I liked the plot and the development, the characters were well written and devolved, I’m looking forward to seeing how they grow further in the series.
.
I like Navi’s and Talon, not gonna lie, I had moments were I hoped that it turned into an RH with a couple of the other brothers, but maybe that’s just me reading too much of that lately so it jumped over to this but nonetheless I still enjoyed the characters. Their chemistry and bond was undeniable and I love their dynamic. There’s a few supporting characters I also love and hope to see more of in future maybe.
.
I gotta say, the writing style for me felt a little old fashioned. I had moments where I thought I was reading a historical fiction because that’s just the feel I got from it. Consequently it made the story feel long and drawn out in some places. It could just be me, but that was my feeling. I did love the suspense and mystery however I though that was really well done and I can’t wait to see how it plays out in the next book. A very well done debut by Watkins.

Where do I start?

First off we know the main characters can’t be together because they’re adopted siblings. But they fool around for years but don’t have sex. Okay, I can understand that.
Then, why does our H have sex with someone else while our h waits for him to claim her?
I mean what the hell?
I wish that was all.
But, then our H has a serious case of changing moods. One minutes he’s like, “stay away from me” and the next, “let me f*** your a**” and they haven’t had regular sex yet.
Can we at least do the vanilla stuff first?

I wanted to give it a try but some things were not working out for me.
This one is a pass.

This is a well written book with strong characters in Navia and Talon. It's a taboo love story with tons of emotions. The author does a great job pulling you in with all the drama and had me glued to the pages with all the twists ,turns and secrets throughout. It's an intriguing story that left me wanting more with the cliffhanger ending.

It really bothered me that he slept with OW even after he understood the depth of his feelings for h but the main issue was that he broke up with her because he figured that she was after his money and NOT because he loved the h so much he had to.
Other than this a decent story.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

First off, I loved the concept of this book. Family drama is always a plus for me.

The book tells the story of Navia and Talon. Navavia was adopted by the Ashfords when she was a teen and there is a mystery surrounding her past. Because of how they were raised, and the small town they live in, Rosavale (I loved that name) they fear that they might be judged if they live their romance.

But they soon aren't able to keep it a secret any longer and shit blows up. But like any good romance novel, they get their happy ending.

From the ending, I'm assuming that the next book will be about the oldest brother, Devan, and I'm excited to see how that plays out.

There were some issues with grammar that I spotted but this was an ARC and the author did warm beforehand that they might be there and that they would be fixed before being published.

Aside from that, the writing was good. The characters were great and I loved the story.

This was a wonderful book with a lot of emotions.

I liked the concept of forbidden romance and the Ashford family dynamic. The brothers are super close and each of their personalities was shown throughout the book.

Navia and Talon were a great couple. The story started out strong and the chemistry between was palpable. I also liked that there was a mystery surrounding the family and that is also a plus.

Book 1 ends with an amazing setup for book 2 and I can't wait to read what will happen next.

I enjoyed this book and can't recommend it enough.

description

English:
"Between Dusk & Dawn" by Willa Watkins is the first book in the "Rosavale" series. It's a book about forbidden romance, full of secrets that add the expected suspense.

Navia was adopted by the Ashford family, and for years she has been in love with her stepbrother, Talon Ashford. Every touch made the passion between them grow, sneaking kisses and nights together. But Talon pushed her away for their well-being. Now, with Navia's comeback from college for a gap year, feelings will resurface again. Plus Navia will have to find out who she is, and if the Ashford family are who they say they are.

Navia and Talon are on fire when they are together. I didn't expect it to be so hot every moment they were alone. The fear of being caught made their moments more intense. Honestly, the scenes are amazing.

“Since I first saw you, I loved you. It just happened. And every minute that we spent together only made these feelings stronger. It doesn’t matter if our families are enemies or if we can’t get married. You came to brighten my days, make me whole, and be mine regardless of everything. A love that I’ll have with me forever. That nothing and nobody will ever take from us.” ~ Talon

Also, Navia had to find herself, find her truth, and who she really was. That mystery makes you not want to put the book down. You question so many things, and there is a lot of revenge. Well, you can't ask for anything more.

Highly recommended. I can't wait to learn more about this family, and how events will unfold. What makes me most anxious is to be able to read and learn about Belvana and Dean. I have a feeling that this is going to be an explosive and very satisfying book.
