I’ve always loved my life and career. That was until my boss, best friend, and partner in crime, fell in love during a trip to her hometown and made me become a bougie cowgirl. It only took a few visits to the sleepy town of Poplar Falls for me to understand the draw.

Amber Kelly's 'Popular Falls' series just gets better and better with each book. I truly thought the last book in this series would be my favorite but this one kind of snuck up on me in the best way. I wasn't sure if we were ever going to get a Payne and Charlotte book, but I'm so glad we did.
Charlotte and Payne have been that 'background' couple basically since the beginning of this series. I already felt like I knew them when I got to their book. Payne is Dallas's brother and Charlotte is Sophie's bff from NYC as well as her business partner. This book had me laughing out loud more than once, swooning, smiling so big, and also in tears by the end.
I do wish it was a bit longer, but as I said before- we've known these characters for so long that it felt developed for the length. Charlotte was completely relatable in some ways to me and unrelatable in others, and I loved her so much. Payne is the book boyfriend cowboy of your dreams. This one was fabulous for me and I can't wait to read the final book in this series!

This cowboy finally lassoes in his city girl for keeps 🥰.
Payne - Walker being ...well Walker 😜, he couldn’t help himself making sure to remind me he’s my favorites Poplar Falls hero, ever the scene stealer** he is. Nonetheless, Payne Henderson quickly made himself known as a close 2nd. Not only is he a good, hardworking, sexy man’s man. No no, that wasn’t enough. With what little downtime he has for himself, he is so damn attentive & thoughtful when it comes to his girl & doing what he can to make her happy & feel loved 🥰.
Charlotte - The obvious, she’s so funny & feisty. I totally would love to be besties. She could make so many mundane things fun. She is also very smart & a softie when it comes to those she loves. All those great attributes gave a good show. Most never knew
As I said before, I was equal parts excited for Payne & Charlotte finally taking the next step (I’ve been shipping them hard since Stone Hearts 🥰) & anxious as well because in standalone series I’ve been burned several times before in other series when a couple’s romance starts in the backdrop of previous books before their own. Like when the book starts & the relationship just feels too established & it’s like so much drama with no fun of the newness of their relationship & how it grows or excitement in the sexy times. So I’m so SO glad to say AK broke that pattern! (I’m raising my star rating just a pinch to 4.5 stars, just for that) Crazy Hearts gave me so many feels! Was it a little extra sweet here & there? Mmmmaybbe! You know what?
I got nearly everything I wanted for them. It was smart to keep Charlotte still living in NYC most of the time until things began to change in their own book(& a bit in the previous novella Merry Hearts.)
Ooooh oooh! Technically Poplar Falls is a series of standalones, BUT since these two got their start in the backdrop earlier in the series, I would strongly urge reading the previous books first to truly get the most out of this particular book. Plus it’s a solid series anyhow, that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys cowboy romances set in a close knit ranching community.

4.5 || I'm just so happy that Amber saw the potential that this friends with benefits between a new yorker and a cowboy had and gave us this story instead of leaving it to them as comic relief because they were everything I was waiting for and more!
Charlotte is a city girl through and trough but she is always ready for an adventure, so when she met this handsome cowboy while visiting her friend and business colleague in the mountains? Sparks flew between them then and now, but after years of doing the casual thing, where is this heading? Payne Henderson only knows Poplar Falls; his farm, his family, his friends and a beer is all he needs to be happy, but if he could convince his friend with benefits that they could be something more? something forever? honestly, he has a long way to go...
This is literally what I call a comfort book; just a story full of cute and funny moments between the main couple, a ton of moments with the friends that have appeared throughout the series and make up this cute found family trope, and a little touch of angst near the end. Charlotte and Payne were exactly the same as what we saw in previous books; those funny characters who are always with their boots on for a new adventure and to help their friends and family with whatever they need.
The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars to one of my most anticipated books is because I feel like Charlotte's story needed a little more build up rather than just knowing it at the end, maybe dropping a few hints here and there... But I appreciate the way and the sensitivity with which this subject was approached. My main recommendation is that if you haven't read this series yet and you like small town romances, then you should add it to your list RIGHT NOW!!! and Besides having a great and funny group of friends that we see crumbs of in all the books, it also has a lot of tropes in each of its cute stories 💖

In every great book, there is a moment that captures your heart, your thoughts, and renders you heartbroken. Tethering you to the characters, their emotions, and their journey. Personally, Crazy Hearts did just that. Elevating a novel that commenced as an enjoyable read, and blossomed into an eye opening experience. Delicately addressing an important subject matter silently faced by many.
Crazy Hearts is an excellent addition to such a heartwarming, and charming series. If you are a fan of small town contemporary romance, not only is this book a must read, but the entire series as well.

Crazy Hearts al igual que los otros tomos de esta serie es sencillo, romantico y totalmente libre de drama. Me gusto especialmente que la trama se desarrolla a un ritmo muy natural y simple, y no por eso me resulto falso o artificial, todo lo contrario, creo que el romance de Payne y Charlotte es la prueba de que no todas las historias de amor necesitan miles de escenas torridas o recicladas de otros libros para ser novelas bonitas.
Un detalle que me parecio insuficiente fue el relacionado con el secreto de Charlotte, dicha trama no esta mal llevada pero hubiese preferido que se descubriera antes y asi haber tenido una evolucion mas larga y profunda, por lo demas, fue una lectura muy amena.
Definitivamente esta saga a ido de menos a mas, la primera parte no me impresiono pero con los siguientes tomos he ido encariñandome con estos personajes y sus vidas, encima, son esa clase de historias que te ponen de buen humor, son muy blancas y adorables.

2.5⭐ This is such a cute small town series but this one felt like a super long epilogue? I felt zero angst or tension between the couple. It's like they started off together right from the start and I just had no emotion towards either of them sadly.
I am excited for the next one though! I think I just need some more tension

So you probably already know how much I love this series it’s one of my all time favourite small town books and if you haven’t read it already then what are you waiting for ???
This is Charlotte and Payne’s story and yes we finally did it after tweeting a million times about how i would die for their book it’s finally here and I might be a little bit biased but it was the best book of this series !!!
Charlotte is our favourite city girl, she’s a businesswoman, the crazy aunt. She’s such a fun character to read and I’m so glad amber didn’t just include her for the humour relief but actually gave her a story, a story that wasn’t just sunshine and rainbows she has been through a lot and I’m just sure that you’re gonna love her journey. Something that I love about Charlotte is that she’s an unhinged female character even in her 30s she’s so full of life, she takes risks and she’s always there for her family and friends.
And then you have Payne who’s the perfect balance to Charlotte, he’s a soft character, he loves taking care of his people, he loves his life and he’s not afraid to risk everything for love. When I first met Payne back in Dallas book I wanted so bad to read his book and I wanted even more for him to end up with Charlotte.
The romance was so freaking cute, they had an amazing chemistry and I know that they only thought that they were doing the friends with benefits thing but both of them were so in love with each other everyone around them could see it. This book was exactly what I was hoping it to be, these two are meant to be together !!!! I hope you love it as much as I did it definitely brings something different to the city girl/small town boy especially charlotte I know she’s gonna be some people’s new favourite character
Kinda bittersweet to say goodbye to this book family I’ve become so attached to them hopefully we will get Mila’s story next 👀 or a next generation series

huh i never would’ve through these books would get better, I loved this. It’s has everything. It’s sweet, sexy, charming, funny and just so beautiful.
I really enjoyed the business side of the story. It was very entertaining and awesome seeing Soph and Char being THE business duo. Hell yeah.
I have to say though... mm I didn’t like how Charlotte’s secret was approached. It felt so out of the blue and it didn’t feel realistic how after years of suppressing it she overcame it in days. But other than that, this was super romantic.
And not even just with these two, the wedding??? so sweet!! and how the guys would talk about the girls??? ughhhh i want a cowboy for myself!!!!!!!!
Beau was definitely the scene stealer here, I had such a great time!!!! I think Foster and Sonia are next, I’m ready to come back to the fam.

Just when I think I couldn't love this series any more, Crazy Hearts charms and smolders itself straight up to my series favorite. Sweet, playful, swoony, and with the perfect dash of angst - this is everything that I have come to love about Amber Kelly. From their witty banter, the sexy chemistry to their soulful connection, Payne and Charlotte captured my heart completely.
I was so excited to finally read Payne and Charlotte’s story. We saw the spark between them previously, but really saw the attraction between them come to life in this book. I loved how Amber brought their heated chemistry to a boil in this book. Their banter, friendship and the fire between them completely bowled me over with all the swoons. Their chemistry is insane and I was rooting for these two to overcome the emotional baggage and other obstacles that stood between them.
Crazy Hearts was so entertaining, charming, and witty, with a wonderful love story at its heart. I enjoyed everything about this story. It was everything I love about small town romance. Every moment felt real, and these characters burrowed so deeply I’ll never be rid of them. Payne and Charlotte’s story is the ultimate read, an extraordinary journey, and your romantic heart will thank you for reading it. This one is absolutely not to be missed.

Introduced in previous Poplar Falls books, Charlotte is Sophie’s best friend from NYC and also co-owns their jewelry business, which is booming. Payne is Dallas’ brother and owns a ranch in Poplar Falls. Every time Charlotte visits PF, she hooks up with Payne, but they’ve always kept things casual. Until things aren’t and they’re flying back and forth to see one another every chance they get.
Crazy Hearts picks up directly after Merry Hearts ends and Charlotte is visiting Poplar Falls for 4-weeks and staying with Payne. They’re planning Walker & Elle’s wedding, spending time with extended family. We get plenty of the Poplar Falls crew here. Charlotte & Payne have to decide if what they have will remain in the friends-with-benefits zone or turn into something more serious. And the two of them don’t agree on where things lie. Charlotte has some demons from her past looming over her, preventing her from chasing her happiness. And Payne brings her back down to earth and where she truly belongs, in Poplar Falls.

My heart is full. It’s no secret I love this series and Crazy Hearts was the cherry on top. With characters that feel so real to me, I loved seeing the gang together again sharing laughs and heartfelt moments. Particularly since reading Merry Hearts, I’ve been itching for more from Charlotte and Payne.
For three years their relationship has lived in a comfortable state of friends-with-benefits. Despite living in completely different worlds, the two always find their way back together when Charlotte visits from New York. With a connection already built between them, one that feels so warm and cozy, this romance was lower on the tension but overflowing with heart.
It’s obvious how deeply these two care for each other. As Charlotte admits her reasoning for being unable to commit, this one caught me off guard with emotions towards the end. It was such a satisfying, absolutely romantic conclusion.

I think I maybe swooning. It’s just that feeling of sweet relief and happiness like all is right in the world. That pretty much sums up how I’m feeling after finishing Crazy Hearts. Sooo good!! I continue to be so impressed with the stories Amber Kelly writes.

Crazy Hearts is one of the books that I didn't know I need until I finished reading it. It was a really cute and sweet read. I'll have to say this was probably my favorite from the series. A short read that I need more of Payne and Charlotte!
Charlotte and Payne was introduced throughout the whole series. Charlotte was a New York business kind of girl, and Payne was a cowboy from a small town, Poplar. They hit it off and start off being a fling. Became more as friends with benefits. But as they spend more time together, they couldn't separate from each other. They were perfect for each other. I was not expecting that obstacle and it hurts me. I wish we would get more in the epilogue. Besides that, it was an awesome read. If you love small town, pick this one up!!

I was so excited to read Charlotte’s book because she is my favorite, and now, so is Payne!!!! These two were so sweet, it was fun to read an entire book about an already established non-relationship relationship. Charlotte and Payne have been long distance friends with benefits for three years. Lately, after Payne surprised her by flying to NYC over Christmas, things seem to have become deeper. When Charlotte flies to Colorado for a month for Elle and Walker’s wedding, things develop even more and Payne realizes that he is in love with her.
Charlotte is having the best trip ever, she’s so happy to be back in Colorado. She’s surrounded by all of her best friends and their babies, and she’s having a blast being the cool, fun aunt. And she really is! Payne has done all kinds of wonderful things for her, but when he shocks her by asking her to stay, she realizes that she can’t give Payne what he really wants. She has a secret, and she doesn’t want him to be with her in spite of it, knowing that she will hold him back. But if her friends have anything to say about it, she won’t be allowed to stand in the way of true happiness.

Just like there are two sides to a coin there are also two sides to Charlotte. But between the Upper East Side business owner and the downhome cowgirl, is a woman who has felt the connection with Payne but is afraid to allow him all the way into her life. When the business comes to a crossroads which side of Charlotte come out as the winner? And will Payne come out victorious as well? This entire series is like a breath of fresh air. Honest and true friendships mixes with love that can move mountains. Amber Kelly has once again captivated her readers and left them wishing that they could visit Poplar Falls.

first, Bellamy & Brandt were almost nonexistent, which was, in all honesty, rude because they quite literally are my favorite but it’s fine, moving on.
i liked the new take on this one where these 2 were already technically dating even though she was still in New York, & the way it all played out just makes sense for these two crazies.

I was so ready for Charlotte and Payne’s story! They were teased throughout the series and I needed their book.
Kelly did an amazing job with this much anticipated story. I loved being able to be apart of their relationship and see how they worked together. They brought out the best in each other and truly wanted what was best for one another. I’m glad they finally got their happily ever after!

I’m not sure what I’m gonna do without this series when it’s over 😭😭 I’ve only got one book left.
I loved them so much. I was waiting on their book since we got snippets from their POV for the first time in the holiday Novella. They were 10/10 and had me panting waiting!!!
The third act breakup was very on par for their relationship and the fixing was 😭😭😭💗💗😭💗😭💗 I just love them so much.

These books pull at my heart. I love the writing. It had me in tears! Charlotte is such a fun MC. She’s a New Yorker who is having fun with a hot cowboy, Payne. I loveeee their chemistry and how light their relationship is. Payne is such a sweet guy, uggghh I love him.

This book follows two characters that have been in the background for all of the books. So it was nice to finally see these two and follow their love story. This book had the heart that we love from Amber Kelly. If you are looking for a fun book with quirky characters, pick this one up.

This book completely captured my heart. I am utterly smitten with Charlotte and Payne's story.
These two have had their long distance, friends with benefits fling going for years. Book by book we'd see little glimpses of how they were with one another. However, it was while reading the Poplar Falls novella, Merry Hearts, where we really saw their connection. It was then when I realized just how desperately I needed this book.
Crazy Hearts is everything I had hoped it would be. This was a friends to lovers, opposites attract romance with just the right amount of heart, heat, character chemistry and emotionally charged moments to keep engaged. Amber Kelly also did a great job creating that small town charm I love so much. It's always a good time when you get to visit Poplar Falls.
I am obsessed with these characters. From Charlotte and Payne to the previous couples and hopefully, fingers crossed, future couples - *cough* Sonia and Foster - the camaraderie and genuine love for one another is very clear. It's probably my favorite thing in this book.
Payne and Charlotte, especially, have a special place in my heart. They're my new favorite couple in the series. They're perfect together. Yes, they may come from different worlds but it works. Charlotte is a definite girl crush. She's an outgoing, determined, firecracker from New York with the ability to make anything fun. However, she uses some of her zest for life as a mask to hide a secret struggle that took a toll on her self worth. My heart hurt for her. Payne is a steady, hard-working dreamboat. I love his easy, calming demeanor. His devotion to his family will make you weak in the knees. He is seriously all kinds of swoony.
I really enjoyed their flirty banter and tenderness. As I said before, they're perfect together. Gah! I love them so much!!
Crazy heart may be the fifth book in the wonderful Poplar Falls series but it can be read as a standalone - although the other books are equally good. I can't recommend this book and this series enough. Especially if you're like me and you love a well written small town romance.

Eccomi oggi con la recensione del libro CRAZY HEARTS della serie POPLAR FALLS #5 di Amber Kelly. Storia bellissima, scorrevole e scritta bene. In questa storia vediamo come i due personaggi che già abbiamo visto precedentemente nelle altre storie, ma questa volta dopo i vari avvicinamenti che hanno avuto, vedremo nascere la loro storia. Lei una donna di città in carriera, invece lui un cowboy dolce che ama prendersi cura della sua gente. Due persone divertenti ma pronti ad aiutare gli altri. 5⭐️
Amber anche in questa storia non si smentisce, questa è una coccola per il cuore, ti trasporta all’interno della storia, la sua penna è una garanzia e consiglio a chi non ha mai letto una sua storia di farlo non se ne pentirà.

Quindi eccomi qui, a combattere le due anime che vivono dentro di me: una che ama lo sfarzo e il glamour di New York, che prospera nel frenetico mondo dell’Upper East Side, e l’altra che, invece, desidera vivere in libertà e senza regole tra le tranquille montagne del Colorado, con le persone che sono diventate quasi come una famiglia. Anzi, con uno in particolare.
Payne Henderson avrebbe dovuto essere solo un’innocua avventura senza impegno, un cowboy attraente con cui togliermi uno sfizio. Non mi sono resa conto che mi stavo innamorando di lui finché non è stato troppo tardi per fermare la corsa e uscirne illesa.
Ora devo prendere una decisione: confesso il mio amore e rivelo la versione più vera di me, con le sue cicatrici e tutto il resto? Oppure lo lascio andare e torno al comfort della mia vita nella Grande Mela?

Eccomi oggi con la recensione del libro CRAZY HEARTS della serie POPLAR FALLS #5 di Amber Kelly. Storia bellissima, scorrevole e scritta bene. In questa storia vediamo come i due personaggi che già abbiamo visto precedentemente nelle altre storie, ma questa volta dopo i vari avvicinamenti che hanno avuto, vedremo nascere la loro storia. Lei una donna di città in carriera, invece lui un cowboy dolce che ama prendersi cura della sua gente. Due persone divertenti ma pronti ad aiutare gli altri. 5⭐️
Amber anche in questa storia non si smentisce, questa è una coccola per il cuore, ti trasporta all’interno della storia, la sua penna è una garanzia e consiglio a chi non ha mai letto una sua storia di farlo non se ne pentirà.
