Iris continues to struggle while trying to figure out her place in the world. Time is not on her side when it comes to rekindling her romance with her first love, and childhood friend, Clay Keller. The start of college and a new crowd bring new disasters that strike when she least expects it.
Iris begins to realize that running away from the rain only drives her deeper into the storm. Will she be able to accept the changes around her and chase her dreams with the man she loves or will they allow outsiders to steal their happy ever after?
Clay was so close to having it all—the woman he loves and the job he’s always dreamed of, but an unexpected accident causes a domino effect that cripples his plans. A chance encounter with someone new makes him question everything he thought he wanted and everything he thought he lost.
Take Me Back is the second book in the Everly Place Series by Rachel Kirwin! We’re back with Clay and Iris and after the way Take Me Away ended I couldn’t wait to see what happened! Iris left town needing to escape all the memories that haunted her, Clay wanted nothing more than to be able to talk things through with Iris yet not quite sure how to make that happen
Clay and Iris have been through so much in their young lives, loss, love, lies and deceit. They both have made mistakes and have grown both closer and further apart in some ways, yet they seem so unsure as to what their futures may hold, wether it be together or apart, although the chemistry between these two never fades.
This story is once again full of young love, the mistakes we make and both wanting to come back to what we know and both fighting for what we know will make us grow in the places we need. There are so many heartwarming moments, ones that will break our hearts and then plenty that remind us why we love our steamy romance novels! Rachel Kirwin while new to writing romance is most definitely worth taking a chance on, you too will fall in love with Clay and Iris!
“Catching You” is the 2nd half in a duet/ series and you’ll need to read “Chasing You”, before reading this story, as it’s not standalone.
“Catching You” picks up after “Chasing You” left off, but not exactly how you think the story will begin. Clay and Iris have a push pull relationship, and after tragic events in the first book, Iris has pulled away from Clay. As they are both young, there is pain, angst, hurt feelings, miscommunication and poor decisions. This story has both Iris and Clay at times questioning their feelings and what they want. First love is overwhelming. Both Iris and Clay thought they were endgame, but what if the timing is off or now they just aren’t sure anymore? Can they find their way back to each other or can they move on? This is the crux of this story. Rachel Leigh captures the overwhelmingly raw feelings of first love, embarking on adulthood and all that it entails. A very well written YA/NA story that concludes the Iris and Clay storyline.

Catching You: Small Town Romance by Rachel Leigh. This is book two in Everly Place series and features the continuing young love story of Iris and Clay. Young love is hard to navigate, you can embrace it and see where it goes, you can ignore it and wonder what if for the rest of your life, you can run from it and go on with life as you know it. For Iris, I feel like she did all of this and more, her feelings got in the way and she ran and now has regret. Clay has moved to the let’s move on phase until he realizes his feelings are stronger now and he needs to figure out what it best for him. I enjoyed this story and found it to be a nice paced contemporary drama with just enough steam, drama, and conflict to keep you interested until the end. This book will satisfy your curiosity from the first book!
'Catching You' is the second book in a duet, it is about Iris and Clay. When Clay is going to leave town, Iris races against time to catch him before he leaves to tell him all about her feelings. But they settle that it isn't the right time for them. Fast forward to a couple of months later, where Iris has started to date Jackson, but her feelings toward Clay haven't completely faded. Will find her way back to Clay?
I loved the characters in this book and the unexpected twists and turns! I suggest this book to all the angst lovers out there! Happy Reading!

Clay Keller and Iris Everly had grown up together. Although Iris had thought she was in love with Clay, he had been away and there was no progress on a relationship. As the story continues, Clay and Iris are still at odds unable to find their way back to each other. It just isn't the right time for them. But when Iris dates someone else, she still thinks about Clay. Both of them still have some growing up to do. Will there be another chance for them to find the love and recognize this is the one?
Love can certainly be a struggle, and their twists and turns in trying to navigate their true feelings will pull the reader in to share that journey. Will they finally find their HEA at the end of it?
As Iris and Clay head to different towns for college, they try to make things work long distance, but it's just not working for them. They both try to move on, with varying levels of success, lots of regrets for the loss of their closeness. A lot of what happens to them is a result of them being so young, not fully mature, and somewhat inexperienced. I feel like they were meant to be together. I'm not a fan of Jackson or Emma, feeling like they just were right for Iris and Clay, or even deserving of them. This series was my introduction to this author, and I'm such a fan now. The books are well written, the characters nicely developed.

This is the concluding story in iris and clay it picks up from the ending of book 1 this carrys on with iris journey of growing up and founding out who she is as a person and trying to figure out where clay will fit into all this, there's drama, stalking, grief, and emotional issues will iris and lay find there way back to each other or is there life meant to be someone else, for me these books take on a roller-coaster showing iris and clay grow up from children to adulthood what spirils of life they make through time together as well as apart I very much enjoyed this duet of books and recommended to read

This book jumps in a bit after where the last book left off. Clay and Iris are still at odds unable to find their way back to each other. This book will lead you through twists and turns hoping for a happily ever after. Honestly I was exhausted for poor Iris with all the obstacles put in her path. I just wanted her to catch a break. I was invested in their story and rooted for the both of them. Lovely second chance duet.

Having read the one before this one I could not miss this. Iris is having a difficult time. Clay thinks he is close to the perfect time but time changes things for him. The two in fact have a twist in the road they least expected but will they let love slip away? You will become anxious as you read this wanting to fit the pieces somehow, someway but being a reader we have to follow the path given to us and them. This is a page turner for sure so keep on doing that to find out if they take it or let it be taken.
The story really did not go the way I expected for most of it. Iris is still extremely immature, indecisive, and uncommunicative with Clay. She is bullied, scammed, threatened, and stalked. I like how her depression was handled. I also like how she points out that people are finally just noticing how she was being treated all along. Clay was mostly better in this book with one real d-bag moment at a Christmas party. Cute ending.
The complex and complicated story of Iris and Clay is continued in this book as Clay finishes his training and Iris continues her college and job internship. As they struggle.trying to understand the dynamic of their relationship, they venture into new relationships and dangers, intrigue, compromising situations, and betrayal before the true meaning of their relationship means. Good read

I absolutely loved the first person point of view of the story, this is a deal breaker for me. This story will test your emotions. It's an emotional rollarcoaster I've read in one sitting. It was gripping and I couldn't put it down.

An emotionally driven story that held me captivated by their story. I was invested in them as a couple and found this story so hard to read only because I wanted them together. Yet the journey is filled with pitfalls and drama and couldn’t be any better.

Clay and Iris have struggles as all young loves do but I loved reading their journey in this book as they try to move on from the first book. The author takes you on their emotional journey and had me hooked. I couldn't put it down.
