“Because I love her. Because I don’t like being apart from her.” The thought ran wild through my brain as I waited for death. I knew I was dying; my head had been sliced off. There was no surviving that kind of nonsense. But my brothers kept shouting and swearing at me. I heard someone crying. Then, I sighed, interrupting my own Shakespearean tragedy vibe. And now there’s someone at the damn door. I guess death will have to wait...
Freshly wounded and fighting for survival, Luke is faced with terrible questions: * Is Luke Peacekeeper or Lord Peace? Can he be both without killing himself? * Will Sianna accept and welcome Luke's love? Better yet, will she respond in kind, allowing the binding of passionate love he has longed to feel his entire life? * Can Luke find his place among the beast affinity shifters to save the innocent minds who will die without his help? * Have the women in Luke's life stolen his annual allotment of holiday fudge?
Reaping reveals some hard truths about beast affinity society, history, and Darla's family.
Beth was savage. Kinda deserved though. Poor Luke. Nice that he and William were getting closer though. The harem teasing was entertaining and the family is getting bigger still. I'm glad there is an index at the back, its getting tricky now. Felt mostly light-hearted with plans being made and family jokes. Unsure about Dennis, but I like how easily the affinities get help.

I absolutely love this series and all the characters that began in the previous book. This is unique among all the paranormal books that abound. Completely unique. Each book continues from one book to the next. At first I wasn't happy with the cliffhanger from book 1 of the first series. Now that I realize it's a continuing story I'm not near as upset with it. I'm also not sure why this one is a separate series since it continues the story from the first one. There's one book left and I'm already not happy it is ending.
If you like really different paranormal romance and enjoy a large family of siblings that meet their mate in the books, you really need to read these. The family is so fun and full of humor but there's also thriller aspects and suspense at times too. Even the novellas are good. Both series highly recommended! FYI There is spice involved but nothing really bad, but still an adult read 16 plus.
Neill Thorne makes this book! I had no problem following the many many characters that make up this book thanks to his phenomenal narration. To be able to create so many voices is truly an art!
This second book in the Peacekeeper’s Harmony series, and closely linked to the Building the Circle series (so read them in order), is as much fun as or even better than the previous books featuring the Trellis’ siblings, their parents and a wide array of characters with some form of psychic/magic powers. With each book you learn more about their background, the story continues to develop, and the author weaves her own magic by throwing in little nuggets of information and explanation on events that happened in previous books that you at the time didn’t realise were so relevant for the further development of the story. You can reread these books ten times and they don’t get boring!
Don’t get me wrong: It’s not only giggles or full out laughter; there are some teary and heartbreaking moments as well which only add to making this a well-developed read.
Truly believe Maggie M. Lily is one of the best storytellers (authors!) out there and eagerly awaiting her next book and more developments in the Trellis Family lives. Easily five stars!
Book 2 of this second continuing series by Maggie M Lily does not disappoint. It is intricate and told well, made believable through excellent storytelling, and kept me reading to the end because I didn't want to stop. It's about a family. Okay, an extremely large family, full of empaths with varied skills. But they're still learning who they are, and on the way there is violence and misunderstanding, love and heartache, and the best thing they have going for them is their family. The sense of humor in the writing shines through, making me laugh out loud throughout all of the stories. It's my favorite series read in 2024. Long live the Trellis family, I"m hoping 2025 is full of more of their stories. Lucky for me there are 9 kids in that family, and I hope they all have their time.
I absolutely loved this book. It starts off were the first book ended and the story flows perfectly. I was drawn in from the start and did not want it to end. I first became invested in the main characters in the Building the Circle series and can’t wait to see where they go from here. Luke is definitely one of my favourite characters and Sianna is definitely growing on me. I liked how their characters and their love for each other became stronger throughout the book. There are a lot of characters in these books and you need to concentrate to keep them all straight in your head (although there is a list at then end of the book). There are so many funny moments mixed in with all of the action. I’m glad it’s only 6 weeks till the next book.
Anyone who counts Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Lauren Gilley or Kelley Armstrong as go to authors for their world building, fully realized characters and wonderfully crafted writing, will thoroughly embrace Maggie M Lily. There is an emotional and intellectual innocence to the characters she creates that makes you want to be a better person. I read her first novel as a Kindle unlimited offering as I often do to try new authors and have read all of her current works since. This is the first time I have written a review.
It's been a very long time since I have become totally immersed in a written series. I was a bit 'late to the party' and was able to quickly finish one book and start the next. Now...I will wait, as patiently as possible. If I can't BE a Trellis sibling, can I at least get an invitation to the Family Sunday Dinners? I am looking forward to reading more as Maggie's very fertile brain creates more Trellis trials, tribulations & adventures. I'm positive the next book & the next will be worth the wait!
I started to read “Rise” before I realized it was #3 in a series. I don’t like to start mid-point so checked my library and discovered I’d read the first book, Ransom, last June. I barely remember it but since I’d read a bunch of other books by this author I figured I must like the storyline.
Much as I suspected, I was mostly lost in reading this. I remembered bits and pieces but not enough to really appreciate the plot at this point. I don’t know why I didn’t read this book and the next upon finishing Peacekeepers Harmony #1, but there you go. Nobody to blame but myself.
I love this family! Lily's first few installments sucked me right into the family dynamics. Nothing really was clear plot-wise until the third book but by then i was hooked. Had to read them all... I would rate Lily's writing overall as a 2.5 or so but for her creativity in the Trellis family I'd give her a 4. Original characters, dynamic storyline (although there were lots of things not wrapped up), and great pacing. Sorry there aren't more to read.
Reaping: A Psychic Shifter Paranormal Romance (Peacekeeper's Harmony Book 2)
Absolutely, love ❤️❤️🔥🥰🔥 this series!!!! I love ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 all these characters!!!! I love ❤️ Sianna and Luke together so HOT 🔥❤️🔥🔥❤️🔥!!! She finally admitted her feelings… Plenty of twists and turns, love and laughter. Can't wait to start the conclusion in the next book. Definitely recommend this book 📕 series 📚 !!!! Did I mention how much, I love this family ????
Wow! After book1's ending, Luke has a lot of healing and self reflection on his hands. The Trellis family (Building the Circle) plays a large part to start gathering sources and power as their little brother lays healing from near decapitation! Mom is NOT a happy camper! Glad Sianna is stepping up. I like them together. Can't wait to see how Lord Peace handles his power going forward to merge Peacekeeper power with it. And the ending? Who knew? (Well, of course, Sam did!)
She left us with a cliffhanger ... but what a cliff hanger. This book and the one before it along with the Build the Circle books are must reads. The characters carry over and Maggie builds onto their stories. Start with Building the Circle and learn about how it all started neoprene you read Luke's story. I can't wait for the final book in this trilogy.
I am so addicted to this series! The humor is hilarious and makes the books so unique. The drama is gripping and the relationships between the characters are wonderfully developed. The mystical elements are fascinating. I highly recommend this series.
Love all the Trellis Characters. I do have to point out that I love Noah and I think it’s interesting that the author knows that Noah and Luke are not close as brothers so there’s not that much interaction between them. Fun side note that I didn’t realize until the end of this book. Sigh. I love Noah.
My favorite book of Luke and Sianna’s trilogy. I read it in one sitting. This book has Luke recovering from his near decapitation in the previous book, and it shows his physical and spiritual journey to becoming the Peacekeeper. He has to make sacrifices and hard decisions to save the people he loves and it’s overall just great story telling and world building.
Loved the continuation of the story of Luke……love all these characters!!!! I was entranced from the beginning of the book till the ending! Can’t wait to the next one😍
This is the second book in Ms. Lily's Peacekeeper's Harmony and it is everything I love in a paranormal story. It has a fabulous cast of characters, romance, magic, and intrigue. I laughed and cried during the reading of it. Truly amazing writing!
I loved the continuing story of the Peacekeeper. There’s a lot of people to keep track of and sometimes that is a challenge! The story itself is unique and a fun read. I really want to belong to this family and I’m waiting for Sam to ask me my name!
Just wow! Full of more laughs, jokes played, and lots of steam, this was absolutely fun to read! Can’t wait to see what happens with Luke and Asian a. And hopefully William and Emma’s babies will be born!
Most excellent continuation of Luke's journey as Peacekeeper, after almost losing his head. There are new characters introduced which keep his life full of twists and turns. Enjoy!
I'm going to review this properly together with Book 3 (Rise) because they honestly feel like instalments in the same story, rather than two separate books.
For the moment, I'll just say that I enjoyed this one a bit more than Book 1.
This quirky, funny family embodies the humor and creativity that make this series a must read. Even in the face of huge challenges, their nearly constant hilarity and unwavering support of each other make each book a delightful adventure
The storyline keeps getting better. I love the development of the characters and how the different worlds come together. I am looking forward to the next book, but don't want the series to end. So many more stories to tell.
There is nothing better than a good book, good friends, and living family. To have them in a book, outstanding. Usually second books in a series lack movement of story but hot diggity not this one. I simply couldn’t put it down.
Didn't see that development coming. A very good surprise. Makes sense. I am now ready for whatever the winding down surprise is. Peacekeeper and Overlord....Balance and war are comkng.
