The adventure continues - Brenner is not a werewolf…He is the result of a secret US Army experiment. The creation of a government controlled Super Soldier.
And no one asked if he wanted to take part.
So, he escaped. And for the last fifty years has been living in the backroads and the small unknown towns of America. Never aging. Searching for a cure. At the same time avoiding the dark ops experts who are looking for him.
But just because he can become a seven foot, four hundred pound killing machine, it doesn’t mean that Brenner is bad. In fact, he sticks to a strict code.
And like the High Plains drifters of old, anyone who crosses the Wolfman’s code is sure to suffer.
They took his humanity … and now it’s time for payback.Author’s note …“I was looking to create a character that brought to mind the high plains drifters of old. A western hero that rode into town on a dark horse, delivered justice and retribution in equal measure and then rode off into the sunset. A modern-day gunslinger with a dark secret. I hope that I did the premise justice.”
Praise for Craig Zerf …
“This is an exciting story written by a master...can't wait to read more by this author! What if this story really happened! Wow.”
“This book is sheer Perfection! It has everything. Brenner's story makes you sad then happy, scared and anxious then shouting and cheering. One moment you are crying and the next you can't stop laughing. Craig Zerf is definitely now on my list of favorite authors. Do yourself a favor and buy this book!”
“Violent and exciting. The characters make no excuses, they are monsters and violence is their trade. Despite this the main character is likeable and interesting. This book is a fast, fun read, and I am looking forward to more from the author.”
“Mr. Zerf, I must compliment you on each and every one of the stories in this series! Words like exceptional, outstanding, gripping, unrelenting, engaging and yes enthralling simply are NOT enough to do these stories justice.”

Another action packed Brenner quest, to find out who unleashed the demons, while trying to protect those he's been in contact with. For the first time ever, he's not sure he can beat the demons. I hate finishing this book, knowing there's not another in the series to read.
When I come across book one I saw there was 9 books so I thought it was a full series.New to this author reading them back to back still unsure how I felt about this series something hooked me enough to keep following.I love the three main characters (ded, solo, griff) oh and the ish dog.I love the banter with them sadly they are not all together often hopefully that will change now they all fell into hell and bonded. There has been hints of things, so I'm guessing there is a big battle in heaven with hell and somehow ded is the help that heaven needs that is what I have taken from the books clearly ded is a Angel of sorts (as they have said) even hinted as a fallen Angel (maybe that's why he is dark not light) but it does not make him evil just disobeyed a rule maybe and maybe that's what puts him in the right place.it's clear he is good as he is so protective to all.even soloman has goodness in him.I am hoping book 10 is the final one and answers the questions finally about ded true self.I did think he is the Angel who created shifters that's why he is alpha of alphas, there God.This series is worth a read.it's a little different for supernatural books.
If you have come as far as reading this ninth book in the installation the caracters need no introduction, the formula is very much the same and very entertaining. This time things go to hell, litterary at one point as the forces of evil have decided Ded Brenner needs to be taken care of and the devils minions do everything to hurt dose closest to him to reach that goal. I still follow and read these books and they are a fun way to kill time
Ded, Soloman, and Griff are back together exchanging insults and breaking stuff up. Shadow and Suki add their not inconsiderable support. They want to be in midst of battle too but the dark angel and vampire fear for their safety. Their initial attack on the Quartet takes them to a place they never expected to be. At least while alive. I like the action, humor, and intrigue. I look forward to the next book.
This series just gets better and better. I love this authors writing style. I'm hoping there will be a new Brenner book, I cant get enough of this guy. I've already worked out in my head who would play brenner, griff and solomon, should he ever put this story to the big screen. Keep the wolf man coming. Waiting impatiently for the next book.
I truly can say that I've never read such an Amazing series in.my life 😀. The characters in this series are absolutely Awesome and the storyline keeps you turning pages constantly 😄. Intense action, insane situations, nasty bad guys and exciting emotions 😉. Thanks again Craig, you have become one of my favorite authors and I can't wait to read more 🤓.
Brenner can’t seem to stay out of trouble hell’s minions are showing up all over- Solomon automatically blames brenner grandma tells him off griff is more active then ever and maclicky shows up out of the blue and we finally find out exactly what he is couldn’t put this one down can’t wait to see what happens next
Excellent character development and great "tongue in cheek" interaction. Love this series and reread them prior to reading this last one please keep it going. Some of the most enjoyable reading in a while. I would highly recommend the entire series. Great writing style
Wow, these books are just so good. Brenner is a Werewolf and a Dark Angel he was changed by experimentation when he was in the forces. As was his friend Solomon, a Vampire. Griff, another friend was human until an Angel have him a little something. They all play a part in keeping bad things at bay. I can't wait to read the next book.
Definitely give Lord Zerf a read he isn't another Jim Butcher clone. The characters are well fleshed out my only qualm is when discussing some characters like the watchers he always describes them verbatim that drives me nuts but so easily overlooked lol I'd love to throw ideas around I'm a fledgling author and could use some help.
Keep them coming. Love Brenner wolf, Griff, Soloman and of course MacLicky. As usual it's always a good time when they resort to the "f*ck sh*t up method.
I have finished it where it where is the next book, I love this series it just keeps getting better which is really hard cause every book is so well written. Please do not keep us waiting too long for the next one.
