A brutal cult; a gruesome rite; a primal evil...

At a remote farmhouse outside Turin, a mysterious religious exorcism goes horribly wrong, setting in motion a series of catastrophic events, that threatens to bring the world to its knees…

Meanwhile, Professor Alex Harker is settling into his new life in the Templar Brotherhood, when he is suddenly whisked away to the Tower of London. There he learns of a disturbing murder, and a strange riddle hinting at a sinister truth. It sets him off on a quest that will take him to Rome, Paris and Athens, into the heart of a darkness he could never have imagined, a place of ancient tribes and twisted realities.

The fate of the Templars hangs in the balance, at risk from this powerful conspiracy, which, unbelievably, seems to lead back to the very source of evil: the Devil himself...

A stunning conspiracy thriller you’ll have to read to believe, The Dark Temple is a tour de force, perfect for fans of Scott Mariani, Chris Kuzneski and Dan Brown.

This book followed the same lines as previous ones... the plot involving a religious cult and the activities are shocking and have a religious significance. There is a new cult in this novel again run by some insane characters. The end of the book has a twist to it that I did not expect but the formula of strange happenings portending a religious event that ultimately is all down to science is the same. The story was a little less interesting than previous, hence only four and not five stars.

Better than Dan Brown

This is a fast moving thriller with a likable hero, Dr. Alex Harper. It has all the themes so popular with Templar and occult mysteries! The whole series is great!

Page Turning Thriller

A fast-paced adventure-filled saga in the fourth edition of the Harker Chronicles. Just as Prof. Ales Harker settles down in his new role in the Templars after vanquishing the Magi, he is drawn into a new mysterious exorcism event that occurs at a remote farmhouse. As the Jarl of the templars, Alex is out to uncover the mystery and gets embroiled in an ancient prophecy of three days of darkness. Assisted by his friends Carter and Tom, he is enlightened to an ancient religious sect, who have emerged after several years from the hidden dark shadows to overthrow the teachings of the church and instill a new religious belief in mankind. As he wades into the depth to unfold the sinister truth, he is confronted with a spine-chilling reality about his childhood and his father. The realization of the existence of a more powerful adversary than Magi in the form of Mithras, the secrets they hold, and their heinous plan to obliterate the templars and reign supremacy over mankind sends a jolt to Alex and he attempts a miraculous escape from the dungeons of Mithras. A page-turner in the series with twists and turns, this book will certainly hold your breath. Strongly recommend reading Harker Chronicles in the order. Great research into the history blended with fictional plots by R D Shah. Looking forward to the next one and hope to see more in the series. A good read for fans of Dan Brown.

The proof-readers seemed to take a bit of a holiday on this book. I particularly liked the line where Harker (the main character in the story) felt a child run down his spine!

Didnt expect the twist at the end. While Harker is not your typical hero he holds his own in terms of interest in the character. Good story

Another exciting adventure for Alex Harker and this time he has a new foe. A nonstop thrill this book runs from perilous situation to perilous situation with no let up in the action.
It looks like it could be leading to another series of battles, and I look forward to reading the next in the set.
