Meskipun ada beberapa kekurangan tapiii nggak jadi masalah, kekurangannya minor doang. Semuanya tertutupi oleh kesuksesan cerita ini bikin gua kembali bengong menatap dinding selama beberapa menit. Rasanya udah lama gua kagak bengong menatap dinding gara-gara bacaan. Ya ampuun!
Mungkin karena ekspektasi gua nggak tinggi pas pertama kali mulai baca ini jadilah gua terkesima sendiri sama plot dan dialog-dialognyaa. Belum lagi karakter tokoh-tokohnya yg memikat hatikuuu 🤍

Es una linda historia, la trama es entretenida y me gusta la actitud de la protagonista, aunque tal vez le da mucho interés a la venganza peroooo considerando todo lo que vivió, siento que es correcto.
Después, ya personalmente me gusta el amor de los protagonistas AUNQUE personalmente no me gusta el amor bajo una condición, capaz no me esté expresando bien pero es lo único "malo" que le veo al manwha, pero como digo es totalmente personal porque a mi me gusta más que se conozcan y que el amor aparezca naturalmente, no porque ella tiene algo que él necesita. Y también me pareció un poco rápido el amor pero creo que bajo una vista un poco psicológica tiene sentido el porqué Bayan se aferra tan rápido. En fin, es una linda historia vale la pena leerla si estas aburrido.

When I decided to try this manhwa, I wasn’t expecting anything since I am just trying something new. If I don’t like it, then I can just easily drop it. I usually just read royalty manhwa, but nothing historical. Even with my books, I just read one or two historical stories, and that’s it. But my oh my, Elixir of the Sun really surprised me.
This manhwa started its first chapter showing us a harsh life of Bayan (FL) since she was born with black hair and without the ability to heal others. She belongs to the Shiyo clan which are known to have white hair and with the ability to heal. She and her mom endured their harsh life in their clan, until her life made a sudden harsh turn.
I don’t usually love harem stories, especially in a royalty setting. So when I found out that this story is one of them, I was ready to bolt out the door. It’s just too annoying and frustrating seeing girls fighting each other for just one guy. I don’t mind boys fighting for one girl (wahahaha, I guess it’s because I’m a girl, lol), but girls fighting each other can be brutal to read. And fortunately, this story didn’t annoy me. Well, this manhwa certainly has chapters where some concubine torments Bayan, but it was great to see that she’s fighting.
Bayan didn’t have a happy life growing up with her mom, but it was really good seeing her cheerful despite everything she has to endure. After she left their clan and entered the palace, she’s certainly devastated since she lost the most important person to her. But despite that, she still fights to live. Go girl! Her character development in this manhwa is really so proud to read. She is certainly born to be Dhan’s empress, yeah!!!
As for our ML, Dhan, he’s surprisingly decent. He’s mad because it’s the curse in their bloodline, but he is still able to use that madness in disposing of corrupt nobles. You see, he is currently working on cleaning his empire of corruption. I wouldn’t have expected that, since he is known as a madman who cruelly kills his concubines (which is true and it was because of his madness). I am tired of tyrants and stupid MLs that hurt their FL, so it’s a good thing that Dhan is different. Despite having concubines, he’s very loyal to FL. I love seeing how he loves and cherishes her. It is also nice seeing how he works hard to clean and exterminate corrupt nobles so ordinary people can finally live without oppression.
I love reading spoilers, and since I can’t wait, I decided to read a spoiler of this one as well. I usually drop the manhwa after reading the spoiler, so I was really surprised that I decided to continue. I guess it goes to show that it was really good.
It’s also great to read that this manhwa wasn’t just about romance, but it’s more than that. It shows us how the legends they know are not really just a legend. I love the suspense at the end. I’ve read some comments saying it feels rushed, but I don’t feel that way. I don’t like scenes dragging too long when it’s obvious how it will end. And luckily, this manhwa didn’t give me that, *wink. It was actually very heartwarming to see how the main characters love each other.
I would have given this story a perfect 5 stars, but I didn’t like the loop hole on the pregnancy thing. Plus, I want side stories, please!
Other than that, Elixir of the Sun is highly recommended. Please give it a try!

I am reading the webtoon, but since I cannot find the webtoon page, let me write the review here.
I think it's the first time that I feel the ML was so charming as a spouse--a literal green flag despite he was the emperor with multiple concubines. And he was a patient and warm personality, too. I think it's the first time I feel warm and charmed when reading a male protagonist of the manhwa. He was so respectful and at the same time full of wisdom and guidance for our naive village girl FL, never taking any chance without asking for consent. I think my type is someone who was warm and would engage in intellectual discussion with his partner like Emperor Dhan. heheh.
But at the same time, I think it's also the first time I read ML with ACTUAL charisma as an Emperor. Usually with rofan manhwas with kings and crown princes-to-be-kings, I didn't feel their charisma that much, they still look like young adults with no real responsibilities and just there to love the FL and being pretty with side dish of occasionally showing their authority and privilege to help the FLs. But Emperor Dhan is actually WORK in the story, there were panels and panels of him talking about his country strategies, giving counsel, and lead a meeting. He feels a more MATURE and DADDY. lol.
For the length of main stories, at least. Because in side stories he becomes more childish and lovestruck to his wifey. lol. But I forgive him, I know he's been through a lot but never let his backstory and trauma hindered him from being a responsible ADULT and EMPEROR for his nation.
Yes, this review turned into my simp rant for Emperor Dhan. lol.

This has to be the best manga I’ve read so far. It was so well rounded with both of the main characters being (4 GOOD characters and very compatible with each other. Usually when authors squeeze in another ml, the audience sometimes fall for the other guy. But it was impossible for that to happen here because of just how perfect those two were for each other. THE FLUFF OH MY DAYS. It had me sobbing internally.
I absolutely lovedddddddddddddd the fmc. Look, I like a ditzy girl okay? Sue me. But when she has a good character development, intellect and is a baddie? Sign me tf up.
I freaking love this girl. She had the most adorable yet mature and powerful personality. She was not a damsel in distress Ygm? Not useless like the typical fmcs.
The mc was down so bad for her 🤚 we love that. No but he literally changed the court system and whatnot for her 😭
The plot was amazing. I was hooked onto this manga every hour of the day. It was kinda sad too, what happened in (I forgot her name….) her past. Those b*stards deserved a more severe punishment.
Also whoever the artist is absolutely served. Everything was so beautiful and realistic. (She did not have bazoongas bigger than the globe) literally I kept on admiring the art as I read it.
I will say though, that the author might have rushed the ending because everything was going nice and smoothly until the end where everything ended abruptly. I would’ve loved seeing more content with their baby (who’s so freaking cute)
But regardless I enjoyed this so so much.

I read the comic version, I cannot find a translation of the novel anywhere.
This is a romance with two very horny main leads. Bayan and Dhan are obsessed with each other but they have a reason to be. They literally solve all the other's problems. Dhan is an emperor has a curse illness that puts him in immense pain to the point that he goes on killing sprees. During a war it was fine but after, that his palace just started throwing concubines at him every so often and hoped for the best. Super shitty of them but its that kind of story. Bayan gets volun-told to be his new concubine since everyone in her village doesn't want to die/hates her for having black hair instead of white. Its related to their magic. But since she has the "special hair", she can heal people with her blood. Dhan accidentally bites her like a damn dog and for the first time in his life, is not in pain. So she's now his entire world. Bayan wants revenge on her village for killing her mother and stealing her blood her whole life so having the emperor on her side is a win.
They get along weirdly well. Basically everyone likes her for being a cute country bumpkin. She charms a lot of people into protecting her just by being cute/compassionate enough to bleed to heal them. They work together and improve their whole country with very little in the way of them honestly. All the problems are more political/cultural than a big evil force to fight. Like how do I legally kill a bunch of people without anyone looking into it? Dhan knows the way.
There's a lot of murder but the story is cuter than it sounds lol.
edit: Actually now that I'm thinking about it they could've used prisoners instead of concubines. Sacrificing all these ladies here.

I'm basing this review on the manhwa and not the novel. I stumbled on the Elixir of the Sun manhwa as I was searching for isekai manhwas where the MC used their modern day knowledge to survive and improve and bring change in the new world.
I don't know how EOTS ended up in the search results but I glad it did. Have binge read the series. The FL is no damsel in distress. She's strong, smart and straightforward. The ML does his job as an emperor and yet doesn't let his title/status affect his job as a husband. He loves the FL dearly and whoever hurts her is met with swift and brutal justice. He doesn't always need to save her and she's not over reliant on him. But that doesn't mean he won't spoil and protect her (be possessive & overprotective too).
They both have their traumatic childhoods and backstories. Yet they were able to survive it all to not only find happiness with each other. But work together as true partners in bettering the lives of their country's people.
PS Still mad I didn't get see the Siyo from the FL's village get the punishment they deserve. Especially her back-stabbing half-brother.

Me encanta la novela ❤️❤️❤️ ya me he leído Está maravillosa novela completa !!tiene todo lo que siempre quise me tomo varios días leerla pero valió la pena!!!si buscas una historia que te atrapa de principio a fin, historia con un contexto diferente interesante y misterioso, buenos personajes secundarios, hermosa pareja de protagonistas que se apoyan mutuamente y se aman mucho ,momentos +19 🔥 y románticos de ellos a detalle(novela) dónde los villanos obtengas sus merecido y no se salga con la suya.. un protagonista hermoso , sensual, tierno,100% fiel en todos los aspectos a la prota( y ella no se queda atrás ) y se protejan me conmovió lo mucho como ama Dan a Bayan 😭 ❤️ y muchas cosas más de esta hermosa historia 😍❤️🔥 1000 %recomendado!

dear me; I don’t know how you do it, but you done did it again. you stumbled upon a story that got us back into reading. yay!😁 i really like this season, it hooked me from chapter 3! chapter 42/43 had me sniffling; my babies!!! chapter 49 tho… had me pausing and having a discussion with imaginary audience in the room about expectations and boundaries! 😅🤣
season two: (24/11-26/11)
first off, aaahk!! they’re sooo cute together! i just wanna squeeze em and mush em up!!
karan: you’re hawt!! but you’re on my shit list cuz why are you in chapter 70 of all places “developing feelings” for my girl when she got a man! (who’s supposedly your man too!!) get your shit together my guy!!

I decided to pick this back up from where I left as I dropped this a few yrs ago, lol
Eh, this was pretty basic. It wasn't a terrible but not like particularly good either. They definitely could have gotten into more depth about the lore, and the characters were all like textbook tropes/Mary sues.
not all stories need depth, but this wasn't like super entertaining either. The only redeeming qualities was that the art was pretty decent, and the romantic relationship was cute.
Eh, this was pretty basic. It wasn't a terrible but not like particularly good either. They definitely could have gotten into more depth about the lore, and the characters were all like textbook tropes/Mary sues.
not all stories need depth, but this wasn't like super entertaining either. The only redeeming qualities was that the art was pretty decent, and the romantic relationship was cute.

I need to be honest, I was just there to browse but the storyline hooked me in so hard. The plot was *chef's kiss*. The heroine was in no way helpless. She didn't have all the superhuman powers in the world but she owned everyone! I LOVE IT! Rating this 4.5 only because the ending was a bit abrupt though, too many questions left unaswered.

I loved how the couple didn't have any miscommunication. They always talked to each other and all of their moments were sweet and wholesome. That being said, the ending felt abrupt and rushed and certain stuff were not handled in the way they were built up to and were just hurriedly glossed over.

I love this Manwha to pieces!!!! Especially the art style but my only gripe is that the other concubines weren't fleshed out enough, they were really interesting to me and I wish we could've seen more of them than just being scheming women.

A new favorite! The characters are all well developed. Can't help but swoon and no toxic miscommunication too. Love the FL for being so honest and upfront with the Emperor. And ML is so smitten too. AHHHHH. I just wish the manhwa shows us the smut scenes. LOL.
