The Rules of Order: A Novel

Rate this book
Gregory Anderson was in the middle of a long successful political career. As Majority Leader in the Tennessee House of Representatives he was the most logical choice to succeed the longest serving Speaker of the House in the state's history, or maybe even be the next Governor. That all changed on November 4, 2008, when Gregory suddenly found himself in the minority party. Now his counterpart, Joe Humphrey, is set to become the first Republican Speaker of the House in over a century but Joe's new majority might not be as strong as he thinks. Gregory and his staff decide to pull out all the stops and every dirty little trick to keep Joe's hands off the Speaker's gavel. Each member of the House will have to make a choice between party loyalty and political power, and each individual decision will make history.
