THE HEAT IS ON.

Eryk has returned to Kari, Lin, and Fay after falling down a ravine in the Demon Beast Mountain Range and meeting the mysterious woman, Dyr.

After returning home, everyone falls back into their routines. Eryk spends his time training Fay and Kari, teaching Lin humanity’s written language, giving new alchemy recipes to the Alchemist Association, and trying to help the Nevarian Spiritualists build up their defenses in preparation for the Demon Beast Invasion that will happen several years from now.

Eryk is plagued by dreams at the same time. His past self is trapped in another realm. While in this new realm, he learns more about the Sekbeists—the mysterious enemies who may become a threat to both his past… and his present.

Brandon Varnell is a writer. The end.

... Just kidding.

Brandon Varnell is the author of several book series, all of which involve anime-inspired fanservice. Having been an anime nerd for basically his whole life, his books tend to reflect that. He likes writing stories with loads of T&A, shonen-style battle scenes, and steamy romances that are both light-hearted and erotic. He is also a huge fan of harem anime, so most of his books feature harem romances. If that bothers you, you probably shouldn't read his books.

A awesome story.

This is one of my favorite series. The world building is top notch with very good character development of the MC and the important secondary characters. The story is very good.

Good development

The story is slowly taking form and I really want to know how Nevaria fell in the previous timeline. No grammar mistakes and plenty of actions, this is a good read.

A bit slow

There were some standout bits but I feel like I won’t associate them with this book until I do a full re-read of the series. The dwoerg were a fun bit and I think setting up for the next book was a good idea. That’s the phrasing I was looking for, this is a set up for the next big adventure and it does leave me wanting more so I can say that Varnell’s done his usual job of keeping interest. But it is slow for a light novel and while I don’t precisely feel ripped off, I’m also not exactly satisfied. Then again it felt like there were more illustrations which is fun, and it’s good art, cutesy and in anime style which brings a curious levity to a series about death and revenge as much as it is about adventure and love. All in all it wasn’t his best work but not his worst either, there was less repetition and recapping than usual and I feel like he’s coming into himself as a writer, which bodes well for upcoming books. Here’s to the next great mini adventure in book seven.

Another fun read

I really enjoy this series it has a lot of good world building as well as all the flavors of the Eastern type cultivating stories. and what makes this even better for me is that it has a little mix of the western type added to the story. There is lots of action without going into minute detail of inconsequential things like a lot of times the Eastern style does. This story has engaging characters that interact with each other and add romantic flavor as well as funny things and drama as well as a little bit of eroticism. So fair warning there is no fade to Black in this story which adds a little bit of flavor to how the characters interact and really care about each other. And there are also bad guys that you just love to hate all in all a fun read and exciting can't wait to read the next one.

Good but needs more

I was excited to see this book in the store and pre-ordered it. I love the story which is why I am still reading through book 6. couple things I was frustrated about. The progress is slow because there's 2 stories (Dream scape and younger reality) which leads to some chapters seeming shortened to fit it all in. The cliffhanger from the last book was glossed over in this one. The finish of the first big adventure in the beast mountain range could have been so much more. Easily kill some demon beasts, step over a canyon... We're home. Hopefully the next book will be a bit more fleshed out.

It's a good story

But very little content for the price. This book is over 250 pages and I may have actually read 100 of them. Flashbacks are ok but shouldn't be half the book. I'm not the first reader to mention this. The progression of the story should bring justice to each books purchase price. The last two books have fallen extremely short of this. Therefore I will not be purchasing anything else from this author as this is clearly a cash grab. I wish this wasn't the case as this series started strong.

Another great volume!

I commend Brandon on another great volume to this saga. The characters' emotions are just one way he brings them closer to reality. As Eryk progresses, so to does his influence grow affecting more than his immediate circle. It's great seeing the side characters, acting and feeling in ways we would experience ourselves. I'd be jealous of Eryk too if I was in their shoes.

Not much to see here

This book was frankly boring. I like the series overall, but the more I read the more I dislike the dual timelines. There was virtually no progress in the present. They returned from their last expedition, started planning for the next one. The end. The past timeline was interesting but not enough to make up for the present timeline’s lack of progression. I feel like I could have skipped this book altogether.

A bit slow, but still a hit

Another well written story agreed to the series. wow this story isn't action-packed, it is packed full of lore and background. The author calls out in the after word that this was a bit of a slower book and he explains why. As long as you understand going into the book that it's not going to be super action-packed, it's an amazing story. And, it does a great job of setting up the next entry. Can't wait for that!

What can I say?

I've been following this series since the beginning and I have been enjoying it immensely. Eryk is a driven protagonist desperate to prevent a horrible fate from befalling the one he loves, but circumstances show that he might not travel the same circle he did in the past timeline. I truly wonder if his story would get out and what his companions will think of the truth.

Great Series

This is what a great Light Novel can be. This story is so fleshed out in both timelines I honestly want to read separate full novels of them. I appreciate the background that's foreshadowing the inevitable major events of the series. This is a great adventure series with a unique harem, can't wait for the next one!

Not bad maybe 3.5

Not a lot new or game changing in this installment of the series. Seemed like a set up for the next book more less. The progression seems to be stalling out until about three quarters of the way through the book. Not a lot of action or character development, but there was a bit of world building. Hope book seven is better.

Another great book

This book was a blast to read. It does not have as much combat but more romance development. I hate it when I finish because I must wait for the next one. I recommend this series.

Not too much happens, but what does happen is good!

I'm glad that opener didn't end in drama! Glad to see everyone's powering up, can't wait to see them in action. Nice book, thank you!

Good read

I enjoyed this latest installment. I like the way the relationships are building in the now. In the past the action and world building are great. I look forward to the next book.

One more hit

Another great story in this book series. This one I found a bit slow, but that was to be expected as this book was to fill the gap between the first trip into the demon mountain range and the second one. But it is really annoying the switching back-and-forth between the disjointed timelines. Both stories are excellent but I found the previous timeline story in this book to be more exciting and interesting than the events going on in the current timeline.

Less action but consistent

The book focused more on the daily lifes of our MC and the heroines where they train to get stronger and prepare for future adventures in the deakin mountain.

Slower than most

It definitely was a little slower than the previous ones but he mentions why in the afterword. Either way it was great and I’m ready for the next!

Great KU Story... But not $5

I want to start that i love this series including this book and I understand why Brandon is hesitant about KU. However, there is a difference between KU and paid and that is content, I'll not buy the next one if its not twice as long. This is a 5 star KU book but not worth $5.
