Big Girls Bite Back

Rate this book
A vampire, a werewolf, and a demon all walk into a bar...

Sounds like the start of a bad joke. Want another? Alright, how’s this?

They bring with them a greater demon and the most powerful vampire in all of NYC. One wants my help, the other wants me dead.

Hysterical. Too bad it’s not a joke—just a typical Saturday night for me.

I guess the upside is having sex with me hasn’t sent any of these smexy troublemakers to the hospital... yet...

Frackin’ fudge fluffers...

This was a great book, wow. This book has something for everyone, literally everyone. there are mystical creatures, such as, vampires, werewolves, demons and the like. So if one doesn't trip your trigger, the others just might. There is tons of humor, but also some suspense added in. The characters are all so fleshed out, and very thoroughly thought out. Each totally different from the next. Don't get me started on Elora. She is fantastic, she is open about who she is as a woman, and doesn't care what anyone thinks.
As a reverse harem, this book is awesome, I haven't rarely found any that I didn't like in one way or another. The world, being that it's fantasy, can be anything the author wants, and I love that so much, it's not based in reality, and that can be so exciting, like this book. As I stated before there was so much to offer, that really it's hard to find a down side at all, as far as story goes. Told in multiple pov, give this one a go.

Lisa Lynn Thomas is a new to me author and I enjoyed this book so much!

Elora is as feisty as she is strong. When she uses a spell to help her fend off weaker men, she gets more than she bargains for when men start showing up with a magical connection to her instead. What’s a girl to do when a vampire, demon, and werewolf are all vying for your attention…

This is a quirky, fun paranormal read with lots of steam! There’s more than enough drama and action to make things interesting. I loved the characters and I cannot wait for book 2, as this one ends on a cliffhanger that makes you crave more.

This was my first full read of a Lissa Lynn Thomas book, and I was pleasantly surprised! I felt like all the guys had their own personalities, our big gal was quirky and full of love as well as secrets of her own, there’s lots of spice throughout, with MM, MF, and group scenes, and I enjoyed them all, but I fell hardest for the demon, Andy! I can’t wait to see how the rest of her harem grows and how some of the other events play out in book 2! Very pleased I gave this one a read, and found a new author to follow!

Couldn't put it down!

This is a fast burn romance. It is a fast paced book for the most part. I loved that everything with the harem was not perfect from the start. There were some growing pains. Seems like she collects mates through out the series. There is some m/m. Little bit of a cliffhanger ending.

I really did not like this book. I came close to DNF'ing it several times, but I forced myself to finish it. This feels like a preliminary draft of a story. The story is not fleshed out, the characters are not fleshed out, and the relationships are not fleshed out. Elora literally falls into bed with each of her men as soon as she meets them, . Mace had to tell her that Andy and Archie were her mates, because she was unaware, but then she suddenly can't get enough of them and loves them; oh, and she needs no help finding Sol. There was just no relationship development with them getting to know one another or building a relationship outside of sex and fighting.

On top of not being fully fleshed out, I would characterize the relationships as rather toxic. Elora punishes and withholds affection from her mates, her mates knowingly try to control her and speak for her despite her wishes, and she forces her mates to engage in activities that she knows they are uncomfortable with. That lack of care or concern for the people she supposedly loves was incredibly off-putting, and I really disliked Elora by the end of the book. Definitely will not continue.

Quick but great read

I was really intrigued to see a book with an FMC who's 28 and plus sized. Elora has a great attitude, and has some great snarky comebacks, I really like how she pushes back. Each of the guys felt unique, it was really refreshing that they were different heights and physiques.

I picked this up on a whim, after looking through an RH list, and I'm so glad I did. Looking forward to the next book

Big Girls Bite Back is the first book in the Big Girl series by Lissa Lynn Thomas, it's the first book that I've read by Lissa and I really enjoyed it. This is a paranormal reverse harem with multiple perspectives and it was a quick and fun read that was full of steam and had magic and mayhem.

I am a voracious reader, reading is my life and I overindulge usually in paranormal romance especially reverse harems and while I am just now coming across heroines that are different from the norm, a person of color, a physical impairment, open sexually, this is the first time I've come across a heroine whose weight is outside the standard skinny, lean, curvy, description. I am happy for that representation, not everyone is the perfect weight and Lissa has done a good job venturing into the topic.

Elora is the female lead and she is a voluptuous bartender who is open to her sexuality but has a parent who sees her weight in a negative light. In another rarity, Elora was raised by her single father (who is a witch), he loves her but comments about her weight, gives her salads, telling her she needs to settle down with a man, and while he isn't doing it to be mean, he is causing a strain on the relationship. However, Elora is a confident woman who does want to settle with a man she wants to live life on her own terms that is until there was an incident with a one-night stand and a spell goes awry and she ends up with not just one male but several.

The guys are a handful for Elora and I can't blame her Archie has sharing issues, Mace has emotional damage, while Andy is the most pulled together of the three as he should be since he's the oldest in the group. Each one is Elora's mate, all of them are trying to make this whole situation work especially since it seems like while the guys might all be mated to Elora this seems like a poly mating, which means they concentrate on Elora but sexual attraction is shared with everyone in the group. That means there were a fair amount of steamy scenes and I'm not mad about it, this was a fast-burn romance. While Lissa only went into some of the guys' background it was enough to paint a picture and I believe that she will delve more into their past in the future books.

Something the story centers on is the fact that Elora is half-witch and doesn't know what her other half is until a fourth of the book has started. The mates come with dangerous baggage in the form of supernatural groups and after finding out what Elora's other half is her coven becomes more of a hindrance than a help. Elora's powers are changing, everyone has questions, and Elora is gonna need some kind of guidance to help figure things out. There was magic but it wasn't really detailed, I wish Lissa went a little more into the detail or had a little more magic but it didn't affect the story. However, I'm ready for more magic and hope to get it in the next book because I can't wait to see where Elora's powers will go.

Big Girls Bite Back was nothing but drama and I loved it. Relationship drama, supernatural drama, family drama, it was all so good and made the story very entertaining not to mention I have a few good laughs. In the final chapter, a mysterious stranger showed his face and after reading that scene I know he's gonna be so much fun. I'm looking forward to the next book, Big Girls Fight Back, which I already preordered.

4 Cranky Stars

It was refreshing that Elora was a voluptuous beauty and not your typical waif of a woman with big boobs and picture perfect hair. She was real and honest.

Elora is a witch well part of her anyway. She is kind of an outcast to her coven because they don't know who her mother was and well while she loves her dad he doesn't always have kind words. Elora starts feeling off lately and can only be recharged by you know sexy times sadly the humans don't always respond well to her other side. One crazy potion and 4 mates later she thinks she might have discovered who she really is. It won't be easy and there is trouble on the horizon plus the possibility of another mate has her on edge.

This was refreshing and perfect for someone who wants some plot with their naughty book. Archie, Mase, Andy and Solomon are various supernatural creatures and one human. Also that plot twist at the end I'm here for it.

Lissa Lynn Thomas Is Absolutely Brilliant With This Book. It Reminds Me Of Why I Absolutely Love Paranormal And Reverse Harm Books And It Reminds Me Of Anita Blake Series and True Blue Mix Together. I Found Myself Not Wanting It To Never End And Now I Am Waiting Patiently For The Next Book. You have Elora who is part witch and succubus And Archie the vamp, Mace the werewolf, Andy the Demon and you mix them all together its a big family and those men will stop at nothing to protect Elora and each other. How will they react to Asmodeus showing up? Will they all be able to get along? I absolutely cannot wait to see what happens!!! I found myself laughing in parts of this book and also felt bad a few times for the men. It takes a strong woman and succubus to stand up and takes control and keeps everyone happy. Loved this book .

Paranormal romance with wit! Full of ecstasy and mystical flair! Its a crowd pleaser for sure! Not that this is my top favorite genre but it does have a bit of everything to satisfy your reading addiction. The mystery, the paranormal from vamps and werewolves to witches and demons and just about everything between. There is love of all sort and definitely action that does not stop! Frackin' fudge fluffers! P.S. It does kind of end on a cliffy, which doesn't surprise me in the least . . . But now I am dying to find out what happens next! If you have read this kind of book before and want a taste of something different, definitely #1clickit today and enjoy the read! Lissa Lynn Thomas has become a 1 click author for me as she brings so much to each book and the stories are entertaining and the characters are relatable if not drool worthy.

Book Review: Big Girls Bite Back by Lissa Lynn Thomas

The book centers on Elora, a confident and witty witch who finds herself entangled with a vampire, a werewolf, and a demon—all of whom walk into her bar, setting off a chain of events that are anything but ordinary.

It’s a fast-paced story that kept me engaged from start to finish. Elora’s character is self-assured, embracing her identity without reservation, however at times I was frustrated at her too I felt she was rude and lack of caring/connection?

The chemistry between Elora and her diverse love interests is 🌶️🌶️🌶️, with each relationship offering a unique dynamic. The inclusion of multiple perspectives provides insight into the characters’ motivations and emotions.

Then we’re introduced to mate number four… we know I love a why choose romance.. and then even better when they are all poly…

“Can someone be extremely turned on, absolutely terrified, and at peace in their soul at the same time?
Not asking for a friend...”

Elora is over men not been strong enough to take her, she likes who she is and isn't about to apologizes. To avoid some of the troubles, she might just have a chat to a supernatural who can help her, but then she seems to have too many interested men at her door. What's she to do with Archie, Mace and Andy? And can everyone end up happy? What will her Dad think? I loved this page turning romance, it had a nice amount of humour, plenty of steam (M/F action and M/M), and lots of dramas. I can't wait to know what happens next.
I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received, and giving my thoughts and opinions on it.

Big Girls Bite Back is a great read. Elora is sassy and strong. She tells it like it is and doesn't sugarcoat things. She finds herself in a situation where she has multiple mates. Her mates are different types of mystical beings. Her mates are all great and bring different things to the table. It's told in multiple POVs and I liked that he got her and her mates' POVs. There are funny parts, sexy time times, and action parts all wrapped up into a great story. It's book on in the Big Girls series and I can't wait to read the next one.

A bite ful delight

Loved this book. A super strong FMC, delightful caring (and diverse) main male characters, what more could you want. . . Well, witches, 3 headed dogs, nasty and good vampires, nasty and good werewolves and a demon! This was a delight to read. Can't wait for the next in the series. Yes it does end on a cliffhanger. First time reading this author and won't be the last!😁

This is my first book read from this author and I enjoyed it. 5 main characters all different but balance and complete each other. The story line was easy to follow and I never once got confused with who is who with all the sexy hot men.

I received this Arc to read for my honest review

Wow!

I liked this book so much more than I was expecting! The drama was perfect! The timeline moved at a bit of a jilted pace but with how the plot played out, I’m ok with it. Honestly can’t wait to see what happens when they go to Maine.

Loving it

What a great story. Most women have doubts about themselves and Elora is no different she finds it hard to believe otherwise. How many men will form her harem? Where will they end up? Will they have to fight the coven?
Can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Elora was have too many close calls when it came to her One night stands. She was hoping a spell would help her but thing took a unexpected turn. This book is fast pace and the characters are figuring things out. On top of what is going on they have some crazy vampires. The witch covered that she was a part of possibly trying to take her magic.
