That’s especially true now that she’s my lawyer. I need her to help me keep custody of Ava. My daughter is the most important thing in my life. Between being a single father and running a Fortune 100 company, there isn’t room for anything else. Certainly not with Sarah. Her brother would kill me if I ever touched her. Not to mention, she would violate her legal ethics getting involved with a client. But old feelings aren’t so easy to suppress. And ending up in bed with Sarah is only the start of the complications to my life and my heart. Sarah Aaron Moore is a grade-A jerk. At least, that’s how I remember my older brother’s best friend from high school. It didn’t stop me from crushing on him back then, though. Only now, he’s a client. He also isn’t the person I thought he was at all. A determined businessman. A dedicated father. A passionate lover. Once we cross that line, there’s no going back, despite what it could cost me. But forces work to keep us apart and take what’s most important to him. Only I have a secret…one that will change everything and that I won’t be able to keep hidden for long. Author’s Get ready for a fun, emotional and steamy billionaire romance with a happily ever after and no cheating! Each book in this series is a standalone and can be read in any order.
why does the girl not have a backbone and give in right away!
Gave this book a change because I thought the heroine was going to be a strong takes no BS type of character. I didn’t have an issue with her sleeping with him right away, what was really annoying and made me stop reading was when he comes back and apologized for basically picking his daughter Eva and not her and her unborn baby. Not only did he never reach out to see how she was thru her pregnancy, or go to doctors appointments but she’s so stressed about the situation that the doctor told her that stress is not helping her pregnancy. He just shows up and apologizes and all she says is your hurt me, but forgives him right there and then!! Like are you serious! This is the main character! Give her a damn backbone and make him prove that he actually cares.
I skipped thought most of this book after chapter ten. It was too cutest and way to boring! I felt like the male main character was to sissy for me, I like a man to actually act like man, so don't bother with this book, nothing to read here but long pages! Shirley
If you've been following along my reading journey, you know I am very much an advocate for reading a book series in the intended order.
Most of the books I read tend to be part of a larger universe, where characters and story lines intermingle in a way that makes sense for the overall arc of the series and allows the author to get their readers to buy in.
Full disclosure: I read the first three books in the Billionaire's Secret series some time ago, strictly for pleasure, which is why I'm only posting a review about book four of the series, Marrying My Best Friend's Brother. However, as always, I suggest checking out the first book in the series and make your way through to really get the full emotional impact that R.S. Elliot provides readers of the series.
Now for my review...
I am the type of reader who truly invests in a story, in the characters, and in the universe an author creates. In the current climate of authors self-publishing, a reader never truly knows what type of story they are walking into. The covers of romance novels are absolutely meant to draw the eye, most of them featuring scantily clad god-or-goddess-like models in various states of undress or physical entanglement.
Am I also the type to be swayed by a hot as sin cover?
Yes, I sure the fuck am!
That being said, R. S. Elliot has been hit and miss for me, depending on the series. I loved all three of the previous books in the Billionaire's Secret series, but was not so sure about all of the books in the Billionaire's Obsession series - I've currently just finished the boxed set and I loved Beauty and the Boss as well as Teacher and the Boss.
I really had no idea what to expect from Marrying My Brother's Best Friend when I received an advanced copy, but I loved the premise.
Of the four books in this series, this is the one that had my heart absolutely aching. Seeing both main characters struggling so hard against their feelings for one another in order to ensure the well-being of a child had me in tears more than a few times. The investment in Aaron and Sarah was so, so real for me. I found myself having to put the book down for a bit with every obstacle and twist in the story line, but I am happy to say that all of my anxiety over the mountains this pair had to climb was rewarded in the end.
R. S. Elliot truly does emotional stories well. This is not an author that simply cranks out a book series to make money. There is no rushing over the small details and getting straight to the steamy love scenes. You are introduced to the characters and provided with in-depth backgrounds, relatable side characters that help move the story along, and a well-thought out plot with believable roadblocks and satisfying payoffs by the time you reach the end of the book.
I would definitely recommend adding R. S. Elliot to your list of authors to follow, and make sure you start at the beginning of each series to get the most out of your reading!

I received a free ARC in exchange for my honest review. This is my opinion and was not influenced by anyone.
Sarah LeBlanc is working towards partner at Frost & Calico for family law when she is asked to handle a high profile custody case. Aaron Moore, one of New Orleans' richest men, is fighting for custody of his 9 year old daughter Ava. He is also her crush from high school that she never forgot. He had similar feelings for her but stayed away out of loyalty to her brother, Liam, his best friend.
He wants full custody so Sarah comes up with a plan. Aaron needs to prove he has a stable and happy home environment, complete with a feminine influence. She enlists the help of an employee of Liam's to act the role of fiancée. Watching Aaron with someone else hurts Sarah deeply. When Aaron finally tells Sarah how he feels they share a night. Unfortunately it doesn't stay just between them. Aaron's ex to be uses pictures to get her way.
Where does this leave the couple? Can he still fight for custody or will the scandal ruin him? What happens when Liam finds out? And what about Sarah's secret?
The couple has incredible chemistry. I like Sarah. She is strong and is working for what she wants. Now that success is coming it is natural for her to want more. As for Aaron...he is a great dad to Ava. He is both mom and dad for his daughter when her mom has different priorities. I was very happy when he finally tells Sarah what he is feeling but he really was a disappointment when things got rough between them. I know conflict is needed in a story but I was surprised by his actions.
Marrying My Brother's Best Friend is book 4 in the Billionaire’s Secret series by R.S. Elliot. It is a standalone with a happy ending. We do get some cross over from book three that features Liam and Olivia (Sarah's brother and best friend respectively). I always like catching up. R.S. Elliot also gives us a preview of the next book about Kinsley, one of Sarah's friends. This book has chemistry and romance; it held my attention and had relatable characters. I recommend it.
Marrying my Brother's Best Friend is the fourth book in The Billionaire's Secret series and is the story of Aaron Moore and Sarah LeBlanc. Aaron is trying to get full custody of his nine year old daughter Ava. He may be one of the richest men in New Orleans but he needs a good lawyer to win this one. So he hires his best friend Liam's younger sister, Sarah. What he has never told anyone is that he also had a crush on Sarah when they were younger but she was firmly in the middle of the "no go" zone because of his friendship with Liam. Sarah is a lawyer who has been working hard towards a partnership in the law firm that she works at, Frost and Calico. She specializes in family law so when Aaron contacts her to take his case she jumps at the chance, as winning a high profile case will go a long way to securing that partnership offer. Plus it does not hurt that her new client is also her high school crush and star of many a naughty dream. In order to help the case Sarah comes up with a plan that sees one of Liam's employees becoming Aaron's fake fiancee. After all Aaron has to prove that he has a loving home and a female influence for Ava. Can anyone say drama and emotions to ensue. This story has those in spades and more. It also has a great story-line and wonderful characters, even when you want to kick some butt and more than hate them. I have read the other books in this series which have all been really good. For me Marrying my Brother's Best Friend has been the best. I cannot wait to read the next in this series.
I was hesitant on reading this story as it dealt with an already existing child and another that was going to be on the way judging from the synopsis of the story. Normally I'm hesitant to go into stories with kids in them as they just aren't my fave. However, this is the second one I've read now from this author and I've enjoyed them both.
This one took the story from Sarah (Olivia's best friend and Liam's sister) and told it from her point of view along with her long time crush, Aaron (also Liam's best friend). The story didn't have the insta-love that seems to happen so often in books these days and while there was already the feelings from their teenage days, neither of them gave into those feelings right off. It was a slow build to their relationship, and I appreciated that, as it's often how real life works out. There was a bit of drama, but it ends up working out to a happily ever after in the end. The story felt real and these are characters who I wouldn't mind having as friends in the real world.
Looking forward to the next installment with the story of Kinsley. (there is a brief teaser at the end of the book for the next one).

A female lawyer, the perfect single dad, and a romance...yes, please! I was hesitant to read the story because I wasn't sure my heart could handle the custody battle. I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. I think what I liked best about this romance was that nothing went according to my plan. When you read as many books as I do, you begin to "know" what comes next and what happens at 75% (or 82%). But R.S. Elliot kept me guessing! Sarah is one of the top lawyers at her firm and meets her brother's high-school best friend, Aaron, who desperately needs a top-notch family law attorney. Sarah is a strong female character and you feel all of her emotions and can connect with her story. You also meet his daughter, Ava, and can't help but root against the horrible ex-wife. Sarah's brother and his wife are wonderful characters who kelp keep the conflict moving along. I finished the story in one day--I just had to know how it worked out--you won't regret this read.
Sarah is a lawyer at a family law firm and good at her job. Aaron is a single father and best friend's with her brother. When her boss recommend him to her she becomes his lawyer for his custody case. Aaron is stunned when he runs into Sarah when he goes into meet with a lawyer but if she's the nest that's what he wants. Sparks fly between them and the plan she works up for him falls threw when his ex gets pictures of her and Aaron together. Sarah refers someone else for his case to help him but Aaron makes it plan that there's nothing between them. Unfortunately things are about to get even more complicated between them. Will Aaron see that he can have his daughter and Sarah too? Will Sarah give him a second chance?
This is a great story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This is the second book of the Cole Brothers series and it’s Owen and Ruby’s story. Owen is 32 and is single father after losing his wife and is need for a nanny for his sweet 5-year-old daughter. When his best friend’s sister Ruby applies for the job, she is really good with his daughter so he hires her. Owen was surprised to see Ruby who is now 23 and all grown up and beautiful. He surely wasn’t expected to be attracted to her. Ruby’s brother tells him that she is off limits but what will happen when they cross that line? This was my first time to read a book by Ms. Monroe and I have to say I really enjoyed her writing style. The storyline was good and the characters were both likeable and enjoyable. Great best friend brothers’ story and I will definitely be reading more of her books.

Aaron hires Sarah to help him get custody of his daughter Ava from his ex-wife. Aaron and Sarah knew one another in high school where Sarah’s brother was Aaron’s best friend. The obligatory “keep your hands off my sister” had been uttered.
This book goes very deep into the emotions of lost love. The mental and physical toll it took on Sarah was heartbreaking. Aaron goes through his loss differently. There will be a point in the story where you might not like Aaron very much, but the way he acts is so real.
I guess that is what I liked so much about this book - the depth of the emotions and idea that reality isn’t pretty all the time. Problems don’t always get easily resolved and people do the wrong things even though you love them. Despite the challenges, there is an HEA.

I was very excited about this book, to be honest. Single dad and secret baby? Yes, please! It wasn't disappointing. Sarah drove me a little mad with her "prim and proper" hoity-toitiness at the beginning but all in all I did see where she was coming from (kind of) so I was all too happy when she finally snapped out of it and let herself be vulnerable. Aaron I liked from the beginning but he did have his moment in the book that disappointed me and made me rethink my liking of him. He did redeem himself but for a bit there I wasn't sure that he could. All in all, I was pleased with the story and everything about this book.
Now - this is one h... of a story. If you are a wuss like me, just be prepared to need a tissue or five. If not then you can laugh at the thought of all of the people who are openly a wuss... But other than that this story is a fine sample of good storytelling. It has a very good storyline that is also quite emotional and the characters... OMG sometimes you just wander, but then again in a story everything is allowed - or almost everything. This story is very deserving of getting a very rare five star review.

R. S. Elliot has a way to take your emotions on ride that will twist you up as you feel not only the pain and loss of the character, but also the heat and passion. Aaron and Sarah have a past, Sarah is his best friend's sister and therefore off limits. When Aaron needs to hire a lawyer to try to get full custody of his nine year old daughter Ava, he hires Sarah. As they work together, old feeling come to the surface.
Once I picked up the story, I found myself lost in the pages of the journey and emotions of Aaron and Sarah.

I loved Sarah's and Aaron's story. They had a lot to overcome and an old forbidden crush between them. The custody battle Aaron faces to keep Ava is grueling and Melanie fights dirty. So many obstacles, so much heartache, and an impossible love... It is really great to see these two navigate these shark infested waters only to find their safety with each other. It is also great to follow up on Liam, Olivia and Eli.
I received a free ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion .
Sarah is a workaholic lawyer, Aaron is a newly single dad, fighting to get custody of his daughter. Sarah’s law firm is hired to help him. Aaron is also Sarah’s crush from high school. The feelings come back quickly for Sarah and they find themselves attracted to each other. Then they realize that a relationship between them isn’t a good idea because of the threat it poses to both his custody fight and past friendships. Things get complicated quickly. Sarah eventually realizes she’s pregnant. Aaron struggles with responsibilities. Eventually he removed his head from his backside, and figured things out. I loved the chemistry between Aaron and Sarah. Great story. Loved the happily ever after.
It's complicated... The story has been outlined in the blurb & previous reviews so I won't go into detail. It was heart wrenching, I wanted to kill the hero's ex & the heroine was well intentioned but a bit weak but then her heart was at risk. It's a pity that the children don't get to voice their opinion in a custody battle & the adorable Ava disliked her mother & her sleazeball boyfriend . My own musings aside it was well written & justice & truth prevailed eventually. I received an arc & this is my honest review.
This is the 4th book in this awesome series and is Aaron and Sarah’s journey. Sarah is a workaholic lawyer which is striving to become partner when she is assigned to a high-profile case. Aaron is a newly single dad who is fighting for the custody of his 9-year-old daughter, and he also happens to be Sarah high school crush. This is a well written story which is filled with drama, friendships, family, emotions, heartbreak, and with engaging and realistic characters. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I am in love with this series and Marrying my Brother’s Best Friend is my favorite! Sarah is strong, independent, career oriented and close to her brother. It does not hurt that her brother is married to her best friend, Olivia. She is a fun aunt and loyal to her clients. When her newest client turns out to be the boy, she has always had a crush on, she is not sure how she is going to keep her heart at a professional distance. Aaron does not recognize Sarah LeBlanc at first because he is too focused on fighting for custody of his daughter. He is an awesome dad and loves his daughter more than anyone.
This story is not just a man finds woman again, falls in love and they live happily ever after. No, this story is so much more. There is deep emotion, hurt feelings, trying to find forgiveness, and looking for hope in the stormiest of times. The Epilogues are worth the tears throughout the story.
Sarah had a crush on Aaron in high school. He had feelings for her too, but would never betray his best friend who was Sarah’s brother. Years have past and Sarah is his attorney in a custody case. Of course the attraction is too much resulting in total chaos. If you have never read this particular author, she takes cliche and makes it inventive and new. Good read!

This is a standalone in a series. The story is a billionaire, older brother's best friend love story. This is the story of Aaron and Sarah. I loved how this author wrote this tale. I could not stop reading this story once I started and I did not want it to end! I will definitely be reading more by this author immediately. I absolutely love a great HEA. This book is a must read!

Marrying My Brother’s Best Friend is the 4th book in the Billionaire’s Secret series. Aaron is Sarah’s brother’s best friend who she had a crush on in high school. Now she is a lawyer that he hire’s to help him keep custody of his daughter. There’s a bit of drama in the storyline and a slow build up of chemistry that just can’t be denied. This book is very entertaining with a great hea. I received a complimentary copy of this book via BookSprout and this is my honest review
Definitely a heart wrenching storyline going thru so many emotions for all the characters involved in the book. Sarah and Aaron absolutely had the deck stacked against them on so many different fronts, a full roller coaster ride that has many ups and downs not just for the main characters but the supporting ones as well. A good read, that will take a toll on your heart, but the ending was so worth the journey.

Sarah is a successful attorney who never got over her first crush. Aaron is in for a fight when he goes after his ex for custody of his daughter. When his best friend refers him to a well-respected divorce attorney he is shocked to learn that it is the only woman he has ever loved. They will face many trials but will love sway the jury.

This is about past crushes coming together. I have enjoyed reading about Aaron and Sarah. Aaron and Sarah knew each other in High School. Sarah is a family lawyer and ends up helping Aaron with his nasty divorce and custody case. Their emotions toward each other are epic, but cause some issues. This is well written and has great characters.

Well, I read this just after the #3. It was nice, but some things were not so (how can Aaron just say some of his lines ?? I was shocked by his cowardise sometimes and the fact that he could not claim his baby right the minute he learns about her existence - moments I was shouting angrily at him in my living-room). But all in all I had a good time, easy to read. I felt sick as much as Sarah, so the author can convey feelings, believe me ;)

Aaron is fighting for custody of his daughter and Sarah’s firm is there to help him. Sarah had a crush on Aaron from high school that’s been buried deep and acting on their attraction could destroy any chances Aaron has for custody. His ex will play dirty and stop at nothing to get what she wants, but will Aaron get the happiness he deserves or will it be too late? Great read by this author.
The love Aaron has for his daughter was amazing. He would do anything for her. Sarah tried so hard not to fall for Aaron, but it didn't work. This book is so good you cant help but feel all the emotions the characters feel.
