Joint Custody, defined as a legal situation were both parents share major decision making regarding their shared child’s education, medical care, and religious upbringing. It can be an ideal situation for two people who have found they are no longer compatible but have a child together and want what’s best for that child. However, how does joint custody work out when the child is the least of their concern? What happens when drugs, jealousy, vindictiveness and egos get involved then the jail time, lies, cheating, fights, and even murder ensues? Who will be there to protect the innocent child like the Joint Custody order was supposed to? Come on this turbulent, drama-filled, thrill ride with Diva, Majesty, and their five year old son MJ to find out if simple separation is better than... JOINT Custody!!
This was a roller coaster ride with disaster after disaster. The only victim is the unintended one. Although this was a messy cast of characters, there were lessons to be learned. It was well written and will stay with me for quite some time.

My Opinion:
Be ready for a read of "Joint Custody," which had drama that flowed with many twists and turns before the reader could hardly take a breath. It was hard seeing these two main characters that seem not to be able to get it together for their son. Couldn't they see how this situation bothered poor MJ as they went through this joint custody battle? The author really gives the reader something to really think about in just communicating with one another. Then when you have extra people coming into your situation, it doesn't help at all! Poor MJ's birthday turned out to be quite a mess in all that happened. As I continued to read through the story, it was good seeing how things finally turned around for this family.
Many times when people are hurt they think they are making the best decisions. This book shows you the reality of the decisions that you’re making and who they are affecting. I didn’t think when I started off reading this book, the lesson that this book is teaching is a lesson that I need to apply right now. The worst thing you can ever do is hurt your child and if you’re in the middle of a joint custody issue and it’s not good then you’re hurting him just as bad as abuse. Thanks Niki for the lessons that you’re always teaching me but thank you so much for this one because I never want to do anything that hurts my son so I’m making a pledge to do better with my communication with my son’s father and to work on not hurting others because I’m hurt by using them against my son’s father.
Yes Majesty is bae! First I was pretty heated at him, but Diva wasn't no angel. I'm just glad both parents got their act together. Niki Jilvontae I thought you let my gangsta Deesha die lol I say no no no don't let her go but look how she bounced back 😎😈 You can't hold a real one down baby lmao Sometimes it takes a tragedy to wake us up and I'm glad Majesty and Diva got the wake up call that was much needed. Niki Jilvontae I ain't even got to tell you you did your thang. You know you did. My book beast 😎😎😉✌️
I have never laughed out loud so much while reading a book! I was a product of a broken home. I felt torn between two parents who couldn't even have a civil conversation. I was afraid to show love to either of them because I never wanted to hurt their feelings. It took years for them to become friends again..... well into my adulthood. Thank you for showing parents what foolish shenanigans do to a child caught in the middle. And making us laugh in the process.
I love reading a book that is entertaining but also has a important message for bit readers to learn from. The storyline and characters were on point. Diva and Majesty had the drama flowing on every page. I hated the drama that Diva an Majesty put MJ through. This was a emotional action pack read filled with action, drama and humor. A most read you won't be disappointed.
I'm such a fan of this author that I don't even read her synopsis before I buy a book. I'm automatically snatching it up and reading. Like all of this author's book this read had the drama and crazy action. I laughed and I cried. For this book it was the ending for me! There is definitely a take away moral to this hilarious yet dramatic book! Must read for sure!
This book was very deep. Joint custody: two powerful words that can kids traumatized. MJ was that kid in this book. Majesty and Diva didn’t know what their bickering and extra baggage was doing to him. They were good together, but they were also toxic together. They had to put all feelings on the table before they could move forward for themselves as well as MJ.
I have read a lot of books this year. This book is filled with a lot of laughter and a lot of food for thought. Told from 2 parents that are broken. Hurt people hurting people,as a wise cracking child witness this disfunction and triumphs over everything else. Good job Niki Jilvontae.
My favorite line''why daddy crying like Eddie Kaine Jr'' I wish who ever goes thru this come out like Diva and Majesty. Shame what they had to go through to finally get it right
This is a fairly new writer for me but after the first book I’d ever read by her, I found myself quickly reading them all. Her stories are meaningful and very powerful. I love her writing.
I love this story because the author spoke truth! So many parents are so caught up in the hurt of one another they don’t think about how it affects their children as well as family and friends! I loves it!
This book was fire read. This author captured the real about what people go through when the joint custody. You go through some ups and downs. If you wanna work thing out you will have to do a lot of work like this books described in this book. I really enjoyed this book
Whew this book was crazy it was crazy how MJ had to go threw all of that drama with his parents it was so scary good thing nothing happened to him I know he probably was traumatized after all of that good thing his parents learned they lesson and stop being so petty being in a competition with one another cause it didn't get them nowhere but almost death thats so heart breaking for a child to see such horrible things..this was good definitely enjoyed it
