I’m his captive, his prisoner. I’m playing a role, Planning my escape. As long as he doesn’t see through my facade, I’ll make it out alive. I’ll make it out before he destroys me.
***DISCLAIMER: Cliffhanger ahead. Spider’s story is told over the first three books of Devil's Outlaws, and officially ends in this book. Although you will get more of Spider and Emma in book 4, what happens after this book serves to tie up loose ends for them, while the following two or three books will focus primarily on another couple. This is a Dark MC Romance containing triggering sexual situations, violence, and offensive language. Read at your own risk.
As a young girl Raven Dark dreamed of being abducted by a savage alien warrior, whisked away by a brutal pirate, or rescued by a cape-bearing hero. When none of these men came to claim her, she brought them to life in her stories. Then twenty years ago she met the man of her dreams. He doesn't wear a cape, fly a spaceship, or wield a sword, but sometimes she swears they've mind melded.
Raven lives with her dream man in the Mundane world's version of Ontario, Canada.
What a fabulous conclusion to the trilogy! I absolutely loved the way that the authors wrapped up the romance aspect of the plotline, and moved the plot forward, but there is still much more to happen with the overall plotline involving the club and the cult. I’m itching to read the next in this series!
This was a decent quick read for me. It picks up where the last one left off. Emma is still struggling with her relationship with Spider. The push and pull is over done which caused me to skip several parts. I was disappointed this ended on a cliffie. I struggled through with these three books when they could have been easily condensed into one but that's the way to make money. But no more for me! I'm not going to waste anymore of my time. See ya!
After the disgust I felt for Spider in book two I really didn't see how he could be redeemed, but I'm happy to report that I think the author accomplished it in book three. It was a feat to accomplish that without having him break character and turn mushy.
I enjoyed this book much more than book two as that one (due to Spider's treatment of Emma) made me angry, to be honest.
The mysteries of this trilogy were resolved by the end of this book, however it is worth noting that a storyline of another character is left dangling to be picked up in another book (#4). Given the publishing time between books two and three I assume it will be at least summer 2021 before the next book comes out. It is not currently showing on Goodreads yet, and I wasn't aware of it until I got to the end of book three. I am bummed I didn't know this series would be continuing on as I would've waited to read it until it was complete so the characters and storylines would be fresh in my mind.
You write the H like a complete a-hole and turn him into a complete lovey dovey!??? I would have respected it so much more if you left him the way you started with him. You totally turned his character into something he wasn’t!
At least there was some plot in this one but left at a cliffy. Not totally sure I can keep reading but darn I want to see what is going to happen to Sarah. Ugh! I am punishing myself
2.5 books Spider spent treating Thief/Emma like dirt. He raped her, abused her, threatened to share her with his friends, drugged and branded her, tied her up naked where all could see her, knowing the distress he was causing; all to keep her compliant and to keep her hating him. Then, one thing happens, ONE THING, and she's his love, his darling, his old lady, and he wants to marry her and, get this, she's OK with it. It's like Christmas Hallmark all over again.
The underlying story, outside this couple's exhausting "relationship" is great, but the mixed messages between the two main characters left me feeling seasick.
I wonder if, at times, the author was unsure what she was trying to achieve. To be honest, I feel cheated out of a great series. Book 1 got 4 stars, even though he was treating her the way he was. I was at lesst intreagued by their dynamics. But books 2 and 3 didn't give me anything to work with other than frustration and, towards the end a sense of not really caring whether they sorted out their issues or not.
The great thing this book has done though is got me and my book twin really talking about a book. We both may have had similar thoughts, but we've talked loads, so I suppose I should thank you for that.
A rushed ending ? All of the sudden everyone is hearts and flowers. I get it everyone has an “aha” moment but to change so swiftly was just bad in my opinion. Our main male character who got his jolly’s off of inflicting pain and dominance on his leading lady all of the sudden never wants to hurt her. How is it that his tastes in sexual acts can change so swiftly, if you have been getting your kicks off of inflicting pain that shit doesn’t just change over night. Then our leading lady now I’ve found her to be annoying in the first two books but I excused it as a learning curve for her being in the colony. However, a majority of the book she keeps whining about how she doesn’t know how to be a biker babe or an old lady woe is me. All of the shit Spider had done to her she forgave rather quickly. She appeared more pathetic in this book and although I understand the authors were trying to show Spider had grown as a character I feel they did it to quickly.
What a crock of crap. You end the story like that so the reader is forced to buy a whole new trilogy but have the nerve to say Emma and Spider's arc is "complete"?
I really wish there were half stars, as I would rate this as 3.5 - 4 stars.
If I hadn't read the first two books in the series, this probably would have been a solid 4 star read for me. In my fictional 4 star read, Emma develops into a strong biker woman, and Spider is perfectly redeemable. Their love-story gets wrapped into a nice bow with a big happy sigh. This book would have been a great start or even a standalone for a new series.
The real problem with Book 3 is that it doesn't match the first two. Book 1 and 2 were over the top, but that's what made them entertaining. Each page brought on a new situation that you couldn't believe was happening but couldn't look away either. If you compare Book 3 to that, it's not only disappointing but a little boring. The character development is also not realistic based on the previous expectations. It's like Spider starts off as this psycho biker. He's a hard nut to crack, and he treats Emma terribly. Yet, we're supposed to believe that he's all of a sudden a warm, cuddly bear because he tells her about his tragic upbringing. It's just doesn't work!
This series with Spider and Emma goes through three books all ending in cliff hangers. I would like to say it was worth it but unfortunately I can’t. There are better plots, more developed MC books out there. I highly recommend finding them.
I'm a little saddened that we're at the end of Emma and Spider's story. In truth I've really liked this very dark MC romance. Emma has learned and changed so much and this is the book where she finally gets it. She has a couple of epiphanies that click in her mind and she learns acceptance, something she'd been working towards. Don't misunderstand- she doesn't just get it and rolls with it. She's still Emma who gets embarrassed, has opinions and is judgy but she accepts her place and ger man. Spider iui s still the massive jerk from book 1 but he Finally! admits that his obsession with Emma is love. No more excuses. Of course it takes several lectures from Cap and Jules and 2 not so minor injuries. Again while he changes with Emma he doesn't just turn into Prince Charming and until he finally pulls his head from his behind he does some craptastic things to Emma. But with time they'll get there - the MC's old lady and her man.
Once their love story comes together so do the puzzle pieces to the cult, Adamson and the rival MC club. Some of it I expected but other pieces left me saying What?!? For the first time though Spider and his brothers understand that Emma hasn't been lying all along and it's not just her in danger. I'm looking forward to Sarah's story and hopefully putting the cult down.
Again book three begins exactly where book two ended. Things have been slowly improving for Emma. Spider is still a monster that makes her life a misery, but the camaraderie that she has now built with the women from two chapters of the Outlaws, is the highlight of her day. They have not only changed their attitude towards her, they’ve accepted her as one of them. Spider has so many jobs to do. He’s on the hunt for different threats to the club. He’s investigating Rosie’s creepy room and board with Rat’s help. He’s still looking for Adamson, and he’s started looking at Emma in a different light. But when a trip back from one chapter to the other goes terribly wrong, Emma’s relationship with Spider is turned on his head. Wow. These books are so gripping and well written. They are not for the faint hearted but if you are looking for a dark, captivating, gripping and sexy as hell series, this is for you. Fantastic!

I am raw after those last three books. I’ve done nothing but read for two days. There’s only been one others MC series that I haven’t finished. Perhaps I couldn’t finish it. Halfway through book 2 I thought there might be a second. I wasn’t sure that I could handle any more. I’m glad I pushed through and rub the third book. And now I can’t wait for it the next book.
The character development of Emma and Spider was very thorough. When the trigger warning said that Spider was depraved, I am not sure I understood the depth of his darkness. Emma had a sweet and gentle spirit in loving him and it was something to experience. Spider I wanted to throat punch. By book 2 I had to take something for my stomach because this series caused such angst. Might just like a Spider, while I know his story, is still intense. It is truly a good versus evil experience.
I felt like I was there the entire book. I could see it in my mind. And for me, that’s the sign of an excellent author. These books were so well written. I can’t wait for the next one.
This book three surprised me. I would not have thought Spider could be good to Emma aka Wildcat. I guess Ben, Cap and Jules impressed upon him the value of having a good person in your life. Cap forces Spider to listen to him about Emma and PSTD. Also Cap tells Spider how it is possible to be an Alpha male while still being good man to the woman in your life. It is not necessary to be an arse to Emma. About half way through this book Spider realizes Emma’s value and claims her - thank goodness- although Dragon and Striker are not accepting of Spider’s Wildcat. If you are like me and have given this series your reading time, continue with book three, the second half is different, in a good way, a lot more comes to light about the MC enemies and the Colony. I won’t divulge more. Also, there is a cliffhanger at the end which leads to the next book. Read On!
This series is not for the faint of heart. It's dark, gritty, emotional, and carries so much baggage between these characters, it is unforgiving. Spider is the most dominant, possessive, and at times cruel man I have read. It's clear to readers how much he loves his club, and Emma. He is bound and determined to make Emma suffer for past mistakes. What he does not plan for is the fact of Emma's innocence in all of it. It takes a fellow MC brother to point out the obvious. With the truth, Spider forges ahead to rewrite past mistakes and actions. Emma has lived through a lifetime of cruelty, and brainwashing. The cult she was a part of, teaches strict religionn and punishment that goes beyond depravity. Now, she is with Spider. Spider is extremely hard to please, and changes his mind often. Emma is confused by Spider's many personalities and actions. Readers will see an amazing transformation between these two. I recommend this book.
Ok, first let me say that I just LOVE this series. They are seriously everything I love in an MC series. The rough, raw, gritty and all the darkness a MC book should have. This is what I have been wanting in an MC series in a long time. I've been looking and just didn't find it until now. So thank you. I loved everything, the storyline, the characters, the darkness, the hard men. I was in MC reading heaven.
That being said. I thought this was a trilogy. And by the cliffhanger it definitely isn't. OH MY GOD!!! Thought I am irritated that it ends on a cliffhanger, I love it a d will wait on pins and needles for the next one.
Definitely want this in paperback!!! If you are a fan of dark MC this is the book/series for you. Trigger warnings.
Wow! You will be glued to the pages of this exciting MC story. When Emma runs away from all that she knew that being the Cult, she never expected that her life choices will have ending up as a captive to the Sergeant At Arms of the Devils MC. All she wanted to do was to get away from the religious cult she was born in to. Now because she stole from the MC they are choosing to make her pay dearly. Spider is drawn to Emma and refuses to kill her so she becomes his slave. As outside drama causes chaos for the MC they are forced to leave. Will they make it out before they are captured and where will it all lead to. This action packed story is intense and you will empathize with all that Emma has to endure.

The third and final book for Spider and Emma. I hate Spider! Emma hates Spider! Very few people like Spider, but he doesn't really care. His attitude towards Emma picks up where it left off from the two previous books. I felt there wasn't any possible way that Spider could be redeemed. He's just that hate-able! Yet, things start changing and then Emma starts changing. Most importantly---Spider starts changing! And all the questions you had before start unraveling and you're left with answers and a few more questions. Spider and Emma are both fighting demons of their past, but especially Spider. Prepare for the transformation that is Spider. Goodness! Loved this book! However, there are more Devil's Outlaws MC books to come! Woohoo! So we'll see them again in those books. I can't wait!
OK, maybe I'm a little excited that this book came out. I've been looking forward to it since the second I stopped reading the last one. And it was totally worth the wait.
The overall storyline is going on, and I am really digging the fact that I'm never quite sure what is going to happen next with it. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes up in the next books.
Spider is still an ahole, but that is never going to change either. At least he acknowledges it.
I think that Emma really came into her own in this one. I liked seeing her grow andevolve through this, but she hasn't really lost herself in it.
Spider and Emma are a couple you can't forget, or stop thinking about. Books 1 and 2 you hated Spider. I know it's a harsh word but there is no other word for him. You wanted to slap him, claw his eyes out and kick him to make him scream like a girl. And Emma you just wanted to be her friend. And then book 3 came out. Spider finally got his head out of his ass and finally started acting like a man. Not saying you fall in love with him, but you like him a lot more. He is a very complex character. Just so you know if you haven't read any of the books all the men are assholes and I look forward to seeing all them redeem themselves.
The storyline of Evil's Pact left me scratching my head and wondering if I was missing something. In the previous books Spider treats Emma like she means nothing to him other than his possession that can easily be disposed of if he sees fit. All of a sudden she is declaring her love for a man she has been trying to get away from (even in this book) and he suddenly goes from a devil into a white knight. Don't get me wrong. I love that Spider and Emma find true love with each other but I felt like something more was missing. Evil's Pact felt rushed and I had more questions than answers. Regardless, I did like the book and can't wait for the next one.
This had all the usual elements you expect from an MC series. Except for any likeable characters.
By the middle of the second book I was sick of our h’s heart shattering over and over and over again. When it happened the first time I was there for it. But by the 4th I was a bit exasperated. She was forgiving and loving, then had her heart shattered for the very last time. Every single bloody time. So I’m a bit torn. I DNF’d the last one. Even though our guy had a personality transplant in the last one. I felt like this had so much potential. I get why it’s popular. And it’s well written. Well edited. So it’s not a two-er. But just not for me.
2.5* really as I did enjoy this read despite the bad editing - words missing, names mixed up, etc - sloppy writing annoys the shit outta me, but I'm aware alot of these biker books suffer from it, so..
This is the final book (somewhat) for Spider & Emma, but it ends yet again on a friggin cliffy. I hate cliffhangers & only read Book 2 & 3, skipping Book 1 cause I can't deal w/too many cliffhanagers and apparently this author writes (wrote?) quite a bit of cliffys. I also realize this series is a couple years old and RD is no longer writing w/this co-author, so unfortunately like another of her series, there won't be any real conclusion. Too bad, cause I was hoping for Dragon's story.
Book 3 will answer all the questions from the first 2 books but will also throw up more. If you haven't read the first 2 please do, you won't be sorry, though make sure you like your romance DARK!!! Lovely to see Spider (I think) redeeming himself, I hope the continuations see Striker and Dragon redeem themselves too.
Raven has blown me away with this fab series which is attracting quite the cult following if her Facebook page is anything to go by!
Emma and Spider come to terms with some very important things. This book was a rollercoaster ride, it kept me on the edge of my seat to figure out what happens. I liked that they both had moments of clarity. Emma was not lying to them, Spider was still a jerk at times. Then next book should tie up more ends and Sarah will get the stage. This is a dark MC story as all good ones should be. I loved it, it flowed well there was action and the characters were great in their own unique ways.

This is the 3rd book in Scott's Devil's Outlaws MC, this series is a dark MC romance. One thing that is different about this series that I absolutely love compared to a lot of the other MC series out there, is that this series continues the same couple's journey that we met in the 1st book (Spider & Emma), most other MC series I have read each book in the series is about a new couple in within the same MC. I really enjoy being able to continue Spider & Emma's journey!

I couldn't anymore go on. Clap and things changed. I didn't buy it and I didn't care at that point.
But I have to say storyline is excellent, that romance or whatever it was between h & H was a complete train wreck.
I skimmed bit til the end because I wanted to know did they found Sarah. I am so at war with myself. Storyline itself is damn captivating that makes me want to continue. I hope something will be better between Sarah and whomever she ends up. She really toughened up living like she did. Felt more realistic.

What tangled webs we weave when we first practice to deceive. There is a lot at play. Spider is still spider but tamer, thank goodness. I no longer want to take a pan on his head. I liked that Emma was getting a backbone.
This, technically, is the end of Spider and Emma but they will have scenes in the next book which is about other characters. There was no HEA or HFN since the story that was interwoven into all the books is still unfinished.
It will be interesting to see how that is resolved.
