It’s Halloween, and dastardly deeds at the fall festival land right in Dr. Susannah Shine’s lap. However, tripping over a corpse is only the tip of her troubles.
Susannah’s vivacious sister has moved to town bringing her son, with her. As Susannah adapts to life as an aunt, and BFF Bitsy Long takes on greater responsibilities in the Peach Grove Business Association, the murder investigation quickly implicates her newly divorced sister.
Juggling her parenting responsibilities with her need to clear her sister, Susannah discovers clues that point to a conspiracy at work in her small town. Unable to prevent a second death, Susannah finds herself following a dog dressed as Sherlock Holmes who digs up an important clue in the old Civil War Cemetery. With a killer on the loose and the Growl-A-Ween canine-costume contest just around the corner, can Susannah stop the killer before he kills again?

I really enjoyed this cozy mystery. The characters were eclectic and quirky ( Angela's Brooklyn accent is on point!). The story kept my attention until the last page. I need to read the rest of the books in this series.
Susannah Shine is a chiropractor and former cop. Her sister Angela and nephew Caden came to live with her after a recent divorce. She takes Caden to the Fall Festival at his school and finds the dead body of the assistant principal. Angela gets arrested for the murder. Susannah, her bestie Bitsy, her office manager Larraine and friend Tina have to find the real killer. They get embroiled in illegal gun sales, drug dealers and crazy townspeople all while trying to stay on the right side of the local police department. Highly recommend!

Good Mystery A doctor, a dog and a dead body! It’s Halloween, and dastardly deeds at the fall festival land right in Dr. Susannah Shine’s lap. However, tripping over a corpse is only the tip of her troubles. Susannah’s sister, the vivacious Angela Rossi, has moved to town bringing her son, Caden, with her. As Susannah adapts to life as an aunt, and BFF Bitsy Long takes on greater responsibilities in the Peach Grove Business Association, the murder investigation quickly implicates newly divorced Angie. Juggling her parenting responsibilities with her need to clear her sister, Susannah discovers clues at Caden’s camp-out. This is a good mystery. It's full of mistaken suspects and only the truth will be known. I borrowed this book from KindleUnlimted. This in no way affects my opinion of this book.
This was the second Chiropractic mystery with Dr. Susannah Shine taking place in Peace Grove, GA. I love the characters, Susannah's friend Bitsy with a southern twang and her sister Angie still using Brooklynese. There are murders, a supercilious woman detective, and the women to solve the case in order to stop the detective from railroading the wrong person(s). The Bassett Hound Apollo added some humorous moments.
This is the 2nd in the series. The main characters are Susannah and her sister Angie and their friend Bitsy. There is a murder at Halloween and some how Angie is thought to be the killer. Susannah with Bitsy's help starts to look for answers. All she ends up with is more questions. They start to find answers but who can they trust. Will it be too late by the time they figure this out ?
This is a great cozy mystery. I liked reading about another of Dr. Susannah Shines adventures in sleuthing. Along with the fact that this cozy mystery series has a ex cop turned chiropractor as the sleuth. It's a great book and has a great mystery.
I enjoyed reading this book, the characters are entertaining and the storyline is well written. I can't wait to read more from this author. I received this book as a Free copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Suzanne is a chiropractor with a curious mind and lots of common sense, able to piece together the odd things she comes across with the help of her eccentric best friend. Fun read.
Halloween seems the perfect time for murder but do the police have the right suspect? How many people will die before the killer is caught? Lots of suspects but only one killer.
I seem to be an outlier based on the rest of the reviews but I didn't love the addition of her sister and found there to be too many characters to think about in this 2nd book. I may continue with the series but I liked the 1st book much better.
Dr. Shine sort of caused Gus's death. How complicated and sad. How many people have to die to figure everything out? Great book. You'll enjoy Mrs. Tully's writing.
This was an amusing cozy mystery about a local chiropractor who can’t help getting involved whenever there is a murder to be solved. There were many characters in the book which sometimes were confusing, but it was an interesting story and an enjoyable read. * I received a free ARC of this book.
I enjoyed this second installment of the Chiro Cozy series with Susannah Shine as the lead character. I liked that the core group of characters has been expanded to include Susannah's sister, Angie and her son Caden. The characters continue to be developed and I appreciate that they seem to learn new things about each other in the different books. I did feel at times there were a few too many characters introduced in this installment but once you got into the book it was a bit more apparent who they were and how they fit into the existing relationships. The mystery itself was well developed and had several twists and subplots that kept it interesting. There was even some humor thrown in via Angie's Brooklyn accent and the subtle language differences it brought to the story. I look forward to ready more in this series
Dr. Susannah Shine is an ex-cop who's now a chiropractor in a small Georgia town. She's been living here happily, but then her sister Angela decides to move there with her small son Caden. While Susannah knows it will impact her life, she just doesn't know how much until there's a murder. It's not long before Angela is considered the top suspect -- the only suspect -- and Susannah needs to clear her sister's name. But when a series of events topple everything one over the other, things suddenly start spiraling, and what once seemed a slam dunk is now a slow crawl to find out the truth...and the killer...
This is the second book in the series, and I haven't as yet read the first (although I do fully intend to go back and do so). I found this book lively and fun, with a wealth of characters that exude southern charm and grit. Each one has a distinct personality and are larger-than-life in their approach to it. Susannah, however, is more reserved and while she has her own schemes (out of necessity), it's her best friend Bitsy that brings the comic relief to the story. She's a force of her own.
The mystery itself was done very well, and I enjoyed the plot immensely. I thought this story was well-written and carried many surprises throughout; the characters involved are believable and the descriptions of everything going on brought you into the story nicely. While this takes place at Halloween, it really isn't a Halloween story, so there's that to say about it, but it really doesn't make any difference, as we're not there for the holiday anyway, but to solve the mystery.
However, that isn't going to be as easy as one thinks; we might have to wait until Susannah herself gives us the clues to figure everything out. And she does this admirably, giving the final pages the oomph it needs to put everything together and set all to rights. I was quite entertained by the entire tale, reading it in one sitting. Recommended.
I received an advance copy from the author but this in no way influenced my review.
Susannah is up to her eyes in trouble this Halloween. Now her sister Angela has moved to town with her son. Unfortunately Susannah is in the middle of a murder investigation and the clues all point to her sister. How can that be? She needs to clear her sister and along the way she finds herself following a dog that is dressed like Sherlock Holmes who is digging up important clues in the Civil War Cemetery. She knows that it's up to her so she keeps digging. She needs to solve this before the killer strikes again or her sister goes to jail

I am loving series about Susannah Shine and her chirp practice. I am also enjoying the fact that they brought Susannah's sister Angie and her son Caden and other new characters into the mix. I am finishing this book but so far it has been really good and I could use more. I am hooked on this series.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dr Shine's newest adventure. I enjoyed the new characters that were added top the group. Lots of twists and turns in the story kept me guessing on the culprit was.
What a great read. This story has more turns than a haunted house. Oh wait, it has a haunted house, too. Dr Shine has lots of help following the clues to keep her recently arrived sister out of jail. But, if she didn't kill the principal, who did ? And why ?
