A Kiss to Build a Dream On

Rate this book
She’s determined to save her orchard … even if it means dealing with an imposing film producer for a while.

Meg Atwood loves the orchard she grew up on and would do anything to keep it afloat, including allowing it to be used as the filming location for the next Fletcher Forsyth movie. Meg isn’t excited about having her beloved land overrun with actors and film crews, but she can’t turn down the money they’re offering—even if she has to put up with the arrogant film producer for a little while.

The moment Fletcher laid eyes on the rural Virginia farmhouse and surrounding orchards he knew it would be an ideal filming location. What he didn’t expect was the cute orchard owner to prove to be such a distraction. Meg is completely different from the women Fletcher has known, and he finds himself falling fast for the hard-working country girl. But Meg seems just as protective of her heart as she is of her property.

As Meg and Fletcher spend time together, the attraction between them blossoms like the first buds of spring and they’ll have to decide whether to let the frost of fear and doubt harden their hearts, or whether they can let love bloom where its planted.

I really enjoyed the setting of a movie being filmed on the beautiful orchard. I only wish I could see the film! Meg and Fletcher were a fun couple to watch fall in love, and I loved the time I spent with them.

This is another great installment of the Spring Flings and Engagement Rings series. This is a HEA story. It's good to have the other characters show up in the books. Meg and Fletcher were well written characters. Their story is cute.

Mr. Hollywood Meets Orchard Girl

One of my favorite things about this series is to see the same events and characters from other stories make appearances from a slightly different perspective. I love this small community of Harvest Ranch and I'm enjoying the many facets and people. This story showcases an orchard and the hardworking brother and sister who run it. In order to bring in more money, Dillon allows it to be used for a film and Meg is against all things Hollywood, but steps in to help out when a family emergency arises.

The director, Fletcher, formed an insta-attraction with Meg, but there are obstacles to climb. This author does a good job of blending Hollywood and farm life with two fantastic characters who each possess some depth and stubbornness. Although Meg is fiercely independent and headstrong, she is also loyal and feels things deeply, which made her easy for me to relate to.

Most of this book took place within a day or two, so it felt like things happened quite quickly for my taste, but when you know, you know. It was heartwarming to watch these individuals come together for a common cause and I look forward to seeing these new friends again.

Content: mild romance

Magical, just truly magical and heart melting. Meg Atwood plans to be anywhere but home when a filming crew visits their orchard for a movie. However, when Fletcher and his crew show up early, things don't go as planned.

Harvest Ranch is such a beautiful place I enjoy exploring over and over again. Meg, Dillon, Tessa, and Fletcher are amazing additions in this town and author Holly Stevenson did a beautiful job tying them in, but also giving them their own story. Her descriptions of the orchard, cherry blossoms, and Harvest Ranch truly helped me feel immersed and like I was there myself watching it all happen, rather than reading it from the couch at home. I could feel what Meg was feeling, smell what she did (ironically even the bad smells..but that may be in part of the windows open and living in a farming town).

A Kiss To Build a Dream On has everything you could want in a sweet romance: humor, sass, sweet heart melting moments, tears, loveable family, and crazy energetic friends. I think my favorite part about this book is that at moments it seemed like it may lead to stuff I didn't want to happen, then magically those things didn't and it worked very well! Many stories I have read have brought in negative aspects (especially when involving hollywood and romance). This book had plenty of opportunities to lead the story in those directions, but author Holly didn't do that, which I am very glad about.

I highly reccomend reading this story if you want something uplifting that will make you smile everytime you read it. I couldn't put it down and stayed up late just to finish it.

What a great, touching, romantic story set in beautiful Harvest Ranch, Virginia. I could easily picture and smell the beautiful cherry blossons in the Atwood Orchards.

I liked that this story felt like a fairy tale where dreams do come true for Meg Atwood when she meets Fletcher Forsyth, a young Hollywood producer, who is filming a movie in their Atwood Orchards. I really liked the dancing scene in the orchards with the romantic lights and how it was made to look like the 1940's. It sounded so beautiful, romantic, and nostalgic. I especially enjoyed the characters. They seemed so realistic in the story.

I am ready to stay at the new bed and breakfast that Meg, Dillon, and Tessa will be opening soon. I really like this series! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

A Kiss to Build a Dream On
By Holly Stevenson
Main Characters: Fletcher and Meg
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
4 1/2 out of 5 stars
This was a sweet, clean, contemporary romance with a HEA ending. I loved the characters in this book along with the setting of the story. I could just picture it all. I liked the ending but I am one of those readers that like to see epilogues further down the road like maybe a year to 5 years later. I recommend this.

Hollywood meets Harvest Ranch as author Holly Stevenson pens a tale filled with romance amid the cherry blossoms. The story is provides a spring fling escape read and maybe even an engagement ring.

When Meg heard that a film crew was taking over her beloved orchard, she was ready to leave. Due to an early arrival and an unexpected trip the emergency room, the movie's producer was starting to grow on her. Will their different worlds afford love to bloom or be left barren at the end of the season?

This heart warming romance was so enjoyable. Meg wasn't sure when she first met Fletcher if he was just playing with her emotions but he proved he cared for her by all the kindness he showed and how hard he worked to help her. She loves living and working the orchard that was left to her and her brother, but this man, Fletcher, he wants to show her the world. I enjoy the small town of Harvest Ranch and the kind people that live there.

Another wonderful love story in Harvest Ranch. I love seeing bits of the townspeople to tie this series together. The sibling relationship between Meg and Dillon was sweet and they were supportive of each other, for the most part. I loved that they loved each other and worked hard and creatively to keep their family orchard surviving. Meg has a deep love for her family heritage and the bonds that tie her to the orchard. I found it humorous that she wanted nothing to do with the movie filming at the orchard. When they came early she didn't have time to leave before orchard needs took over and she ended up in the midst of the filming. I love the self evaluations Meg makes as she realizes all her efforts and lack of time in personal pursuits. Fletcher is a great match with Meg. He works hard in a job he loves, but he remains firmly planted. He willingly stepped in to help make Meg's life easier, which of course left him lots of up close and personal time to fall in love.

A cute humorous romance. A Hollywood producer meets orchard owner when he comes to film a movie scene. Could a romance happen between these two very different people? You'll find yourself smiling as you read this one. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Happy reading.

This is another great book by Holly! The small town feel with everyone knowing everyone. A movie crew coming to town to film a movie in the cherry orchard owned by Meg and her brother, Dillon. In walks Fletcher, the Hollywood producer.

This is a new author for me and I admit that I was a tad nervous reading this book. The Harvest Ranch series is one of my favorites and I worry that a new author won't be able to meet my high expectations. Holly Stevenson did that and then some. I was completely enchanted by this book.

Fletcher is the perfect swoon-worthy book boyfriend. What a character! It's hard to imagine that a Hollywood type would have such a strong moral fiber but he did. Meg is adorable. I liked that she didn't immediately fall for his charm. She did put up a good and failed struggle (lol). Their relationship was sweet and made me smile often.

I could have done without the conniving Selena. Fortunately, she was only a tiny part of the book and had very little real impact. The situation she created was resolved quickly, thankfully, and in a very satisfying way.

The ending was everything I look for in a HEA.

I finished the book with a smile on my face and a happy heart, my criteria for a 5-star rating. I'll remember these characters and their story fondly.

This is a clean romance with no swearing and no sex (although it's implied since she spends time at his home in LA).

Old review was on the wrong version of this book, so this is a repeat review moved over to the correct edition.

What a terrific book. I enjoyed every page and couldn’t put it down.
Meg and Dillion, brother and sister, are trying to maintain a fruit orchard that had been in their family for generations. When their parents died, they discovered that their father had accumulated a great deal of debt. Running an orchard is hard work and Meg and Dillion are facing financial difficulties.
Dillion is contacted by a film producer and director interested in hiring their orchards for filming a movie. The money they would make would help them clear up more of their father’s debt and help put them on financial hard ground.
Meg is not interested in dealing with the Hollywood elite and plans to escape on a vacation while they are filming. A difficulty occurring in Tess’ pregnancy, Dillion’s wife, leaving Meg to handle hosting the cast and crew.
Enter Fletcher Forsyth, the film’s producer. He is nothing like the person Meg has imagined a Hollywood producer would be. He is immediately attracted to Meg but she’s not convinced at first to give him a chance. As they discover more about each other, their relationship develops into something neither expected or thought they wanted.
As in any good romance, the story ends happily but I’m not going to disclose how that happens.

Meg and her brother were determined to save their family orchard. When their parents died, the orchard became there's but it was saddled with debt from their father. Meg's brother had made a deal with a Hollywood producer to film an upcoming movie using their orchards. The money would help them recover financially but Meg didn't want anything to do with it. She planned to take a vacation and not be around when "Hollywood" came to town. Unfortunately, the crew a few days early and she was stuck.

Fletcher Forsyth didn't do relationships. He had seen the disaster his father had created from his playboy producer style and he wanted nothing to do with that lifestyle so he avoided them. When he first met Meg, though, there was something about her that spoke to his heart. She was beautiful, real, sweet and kind and had a good heart; all the qualities he never knew he needed or wanted. Was it possible she could sway his resolve without even trying?

This was a sweet, swoon-worthy romance about love and goodness. The backdrop of the orchard painted a beautiful image in my mind. It was also another great Harvest Ranch story.

I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.

“Maybe I need to start talking to the trees like you do. You’re like the tree whisperer or something.”

The small town of Harvest Ranch, Virginia becomes the talk of the town when big movie producer, Fletcher Forsyth, brings a production to Atwood Orchards. After both his parents die, Dillion believes they need to bring more money to the orchard because they’ve accumulated a lot of debt. He believes a big Hollywood movie will be the ticket to success. Meg on the other hand wants nothing to do with it until a family emergency keeps her at the orchard.

Holly Stevenson did a superb job using vivid details and great characters to quickly pull me into a Hallmark like movie. I especially enjoyed the way she used cherry blossoms to bring out the welcoming of springtime. It just made me feel like I was there experiencing the small town charm with all the characters.

I really enjoyed Meg and Fletcher’s chemistry together. Meg is independent and good-hearted while Fletcher is hard-working and caring. Can they develop a relationship after knowing each other for just a few days? Ms. Stevenson knew how to portray the perfect swoon worthy story with a touch of humor. I really enjoyed it! I received a complimentary copy from the author. I was under no obligation to leave a positive review. All opinions stated here are my own.

Meg's Cherry Tree Orchard is contracted by her brother, Dillon, to film part of a movie there. She isn't thrilled with the idea and plans to be out of town when they come but the schedule gets rescheduled for a week early. There isn't any way she can get out of meeting them so she does so reluctantly. She meets Fletcher, the movie producer and there is instant attraction. Fletcher feels it, too. He is just the perfect man with how he helps Meg in her time of need without any ulterior motive other than to help her. Ultimately, they decide to try to see where their relationship goes. This is a whirlwind romance and I like how it doesn't feel rushed. Meg and Fletcher seem perfect for each other even though he's Hollywood and she's an orchard owner in Harvest Ranch. I received a free copy of this book without any expectations in return. I'm leaving my honest review.

I have fallen in love with the folks in and around Harvest Ranch, Virginia through this must-read, multi-author series of sweet and clean romances. "A Kiss to Build a Dream On" by Holly Stephenson kept me entertained and engaged from the first word to the last and brought me an afternoon of reading pleasure with unforgettable characters in a beautiful orchard setting, a great family dynamic, small town charm and a heartwarming romance. I loved the instant attraction and undeniable chemistry between Meg Atwood, who is determined to save her orchard, and Fletcher Forsyth, movie producer. If you enjoy Hallmark style books, you will love this one. I look forward to what happens next in this charming Virginia town. I loved this book! Once I started reading I was hooked. I could not put it down. This book follows Meg, she lives on an Orchard. After having her life completely turned upside down by the death of her parents. She is just trying to survive, but not living. Her brother has allowed a movie to be filmed at their Orchard. She is not wanting to be involved so plans a trip. Well, needless to say they show up early and she ends up being more involved then planned. But she gets an opportunity to meet Fletcher, the film producer. Through a quick, busy couple of days they fall for one another. But misunderstandings come along. They find truth and happiness. This was a good reminder that things aren't always as they seem and it is important to keep living.
I was given an ARC of this book, all opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Sparks were flying between Fletcher and Meg from the moment they met - but she's a busy orchard owner with no time for distraction or heartbreak, and he's a Hollywood movie director. Fletcher was bound and determined to convince her to give him a chance - while trying hard not to come off too strong. This whirlwind romance had quite a few bumps along the way but ends in a swoon-worthy HEA.

I enjoyed seeing the relationship develop through this book. Their time together wasn't forced or contrived (though Fletcher did have to put in quite a bit of effort at times!) Seeing more of Harvest Ranch and getting to see a few familiar faces just made it that much better of a read. The scenes were described BEAUTIFULLY! You could smell the cherry blossoms and feel the breeze in your hair - wonderful escape for a couple hours. Good use of humor too.

This clean romance between Fletcher, a movie producer, and Meg, the owner of a cherry orchard where Fletcher’s movie was being filmed had all the elements to make it an enjoyable read—a handsome, kind and charming hero; a strong, independent heroine who is a bit down on her luck but getting by; a gorgeous setting; and a strong attraction with lots of kisses between the main characters. It was dreamy! This story grabbed my attention from the start and the HEA did not disappoint. Highly recommend! I was entrusted with a copy of this book by the author and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Meg and her brother are struggling to maintain the family orchard after their parents’ death. When a movie producer asks to film there, Meg isn’t excited, but her brother sees it for the opportunity it is.

I loved the movie filming aspects, especially the dancing scene in the orchard. Meg was closed off at first, but Fletcher was so sweet and helpful breaking apart every Hollywood stereotype in her head. This story was adorable!

My only complaint is the timing. The whole thing lasted 3 days. I would have liked the falling in love stretched out longer.

Content: clean (a handful of kisses, no language, no violence)

This was a fun book involving movie making, famous actors and actresses, an atypical producer, and an orchard owning girl who wants what's best for her family but needs a break, too.
I'm a geek for titles and I loved the hints this gave of the story. Whose dream?
Fletcher and Meg are amazing. Clean romance, great chemistry, fun interactions between them, family members, cast members, the older guy who works in the orchard, and everyone in their little town.
Definitely read this, I recommend it.

I received an advance copy of this book to review: Absolutely loved it!! Big city producer meets small town girl who works in her family orchard. Holly brings the chemistry and attraction between these two to life and sparks fly in this sweet n spicy romance amongst the cherry blossoms. A fairy tale with a healthy dose of down-to-earth reality (and manure! 😂) that endears the characters to the reader all the more. Delightful and extremely satisfying!!

What a sweet heartwarming romance! This book is so good it needs to be made into a movie! The author brings the book to life with her words. It has beautiful scenery, sweet romance and just enough conflict between the characters to keep you turning the pages. Meg and Fletcher's story was a joy to read.
