Maxim Devereux is the handsome Dean of The Chateau. A school for the sons of the rich to learn the art of mastering a woman to pleasurable obedience in a range of ways from spanking to milking and breeding.

He informs his charge that this is the ideal time for her to learn more about the business by becoming one of the female submissives and for him to begin teaching again. Maxim sets about providing his stubborn wilful new pupil with a series of lessons on trust, discipline and surrender. He begins with a sound bare bottom caning in the Dean's office over his desk. Then he prepares her for the delights of the obedience classes, the Milking House and the stable with a thorough medical exam.

Maxim has every confidence that Carla will graduate from her training after he has exposed all of the hidden desires she hides with shame and mastered her to his will. But will she agree to be his bride and allow him to breed her?

If you've read the blurb and are now reading reviews to see what everyone thought of Arabella Kingsley's newest, 'The Chateau' then let me give you my take. I feel like I'm a fairly educated person within the realm of the lifestyle but with this one, I felt like a small-town girl gone to the big city! You see, Maxim Devereux is now the owner/manager of The Chateau, a farm of sorts where extremely wealthy and privileged young men were given in-depth education on the handling, training, dominating, and breeding of human female cows and ponies. After their completion, they are allowed to hunt and choose a bride, if they so choose. This is a fairly quick read with an explosive villain but not a lot of buildup or details that would have enhanced the entire storyline. Overall, the premise of the story was an experience that was quite interesting.

Maxim was the Dean to The Chateau. A very private and prestigious school where women were taught submission in very specific and dominant ways and boys were taught how to train their own or obtain one from the school for a wife to breed. Carla’s abusive boyfriend was an employee from another branch and he had embezzled money and left town causing the blame to shift to Carla. But Maxim had other things besides jail in mind for Carla, he wanted to teach her to be his submissive so that he could marry her and breed her. The interesting and tantalizing romance between Maxim and Carla was filled with defiance, jealousy, danger, intriguing role play, punishments, shaming and love between dom/sub. Interesting read

Maxim is the head of the school for wealthy young men to learn how to be a dominate and to take protect, love, and take care of their submissive wives. Carla works in finance in the London academy, and they brought her to Maxim when her boyfriend Anthony was embezzling. Maxim wants to train and have Carla as his wife. Anthony thinks that Carla is his property. There is some drama with Anthony, but I thought this was an imaginative story. I also liked the way it was written and that these boys are taught to love and care for also. I could not put it down and finished in it in record time. I loved Maxim and how protective he was. Great story with great characters.

Our hero runs a very specialized school training doms and subs, and now he wants to bring our heroine into the school. Is she up for this tough course of study?

This is an erotic romance with a strong D/S theme. The story is well written and has an intriguing setting that definitely sets it a bit apart from the usual fare. Our characters are well developed and fit well within the setting. There is even a very definite bad buy to help provide a little action and intrigue. Overall, I found it to be very steamy and highly enjoyable. I look forward to more from this author.

The Chateau is a school to teach young men to be dominants. There are female staff that are highly paid for their participation in being a submissive there. I wasn't too sure about the breeding part because I don't know what they do with the babies, it was left unknown. But, the pony play and the human cow were erotic. This is a definite 'out there' book that still hit the spot for me. I do recommend the book.

Interesting story.
If you're looking for erotic fiction then this is the book that you need to check out. I will be honest this book had things in it I had never heard of before and it was a little over-the-top for me. Carla was the one that that Maxim wanted and he was determined to teach her to be a submissive. The book is well written and it will fit into a certain niche group. A fantasy twist on a different type of finishing school
Maxim takes over the Chateau from his father, and while observing its specialized classes discovers he needs a submissive of his own to train. Enter Carla who ran their London school with her ex-fiance who embezzled, then disappeared. Carla facing an unknown future cooperates with the police when Maxim demands she leave London for the Chateau for protection from her ex and an interesting offer. What follows are some steamy scenes, a revenge plot and the realization of Maxim’s desires.

What a good read from Arabella. If you have read books by her before you know you are in for a very sexy read together with a good underlying story. This story about Maxim and Carla has this in bucketfuls. Loved how Maxim dominated Carla and she in turn submitted herself to him. Plenty of love in this one. Drama at the end gave me a bit of worry as to the outcome but you will have to read it for yourself to see. I cannot wait for the next book to hopefully continue this story.

Ended Abruptly

Though this story is about Maxim and Carla's relationship, it was only a small portion of this novel. A large part of this story centers on Maxim and the Chateau and he ensures that the programs run smoothly. It was interesting as it was different than what I've read before, but definitely falls heavily in the kink area. Carla and Maxim do have good chemistry together, and you can see that he obviously adores her. I think I would've like to see their relationship a bit more and see more from Carla's POV and how she feels.

The story moved way too fast. There was no chance to get to know the characters. And our main characters had no chemistry. Plus, it ruins things for me when there’s little or no consent. And even the sex scenes felt rushed and fell flat. However, the employees were definitely consenting. But that whole cow thing was way too weird for me. They took it much further than I expected.
