4.25 stars--ENDURING THE STORM is the second instalment in Hollis Kay’s contemporary, adult THE STORM erotic, dark, romantic suspense series focusing on twenty-seven year old, assassin/fixer Mr. Hunt aka Killian Hunt, and Amara Rose. ENDURING THE STORM should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book one INTO THE ARMS OF THE STORM.
NOTE: If you have not read book one, there may be spoilers in my review.
WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from three first person perspectives (Hunt, Amara, Frankie) ENDURING THE STORM picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book one wherein Amara Rose, having worked a job with our story line hero, is recovering following an assignment that went all to h*ll but as the days, weeks and months pass, Mr. Hunt aka Killian begins to pull away from the woman he loves, and quite possibly into the arms of his newest trainee. While Killian begins to emotionally and physically spiral out of control, our heroine struggles in the face of betrayal and vengeance, a betrayal that is about to place her in the direct line of fire. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Killian and Amara, while someone behind the scenes executes a plan of revenge.
The sexual and physical relationship between Amara and Killian has been slow to grow but the sexual tension has always been high. Killian has previously refused to cross the line between friendship and something more although he had been hinting at a relationship for a very long time but as their sexual and physical relationship blossomed, a newcomer into Killian’s life begins to take aim at Amara, pitting our couple against one another until the very end. The $ex scenes are intimate erotic and intense with some scenes of bondage and spanking but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word that is often more shock value than anything else.
We are reintroduced to Hunt’s foster sibling Gabrielle Hunt, he son Callum and fiancé Aaron, as well as his business associates and fellow agents Frankie Dunn, Luke Jenkins and his fiance Jade, and their boss Sebastian Ross, as well as the addition of Vanessa Robinson.
ENDURING THE STORM is a story of power, control, betrayal and vengeance; a story of secrets and lies, manipulation and retribution; love and loss. The premise is gritty, raw, intriguing, and haunting ; the characters are broken but spirited; the romance is seductive and hot but struggles in the face of betrayal and pain.
Once again, although the story line is told in dual first person perspectives, there is limited time spent with Mr Hunt aka Killian while working or training his new recruit which would have given a better perspective and more suspense. . Also, there is some redundancy to the telling of the story line as it switches between first person perspective-at times the repetition was almost identical to what was previously revealed. ENDURING THE STORM ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Just like the first book, I was sucked in from the first chapter! The characters are so deep, and how they interact is so natural, I honestly forgot I was reading. Can't wait to read more!!!

Another great read by Hollis Kay who once again brings a cast of strong characters and an exciting story line. She does a great job keeping you glued to the pages with all the emotions .. good and bad .. adds in a bit of humor and some sexy times as she delivers another fantastic book. It's well written ,moves fluidly and has me looking forward to the next book.

The was an excellent second installment to a riveting book. Killian and Amara have their work cut out for them but the steamy stormy moments are great.

I was enthralled by this story. The author drew me in with great characters and then held my attention by the unbelievable evocative storyline. I can’t wait to read more.

Continuing on from book 1- Amara is dealing with her near death eperiance, whilst Hunt is blaming himself and pulling away just when Amara needs him the most, with a new trainee in the mix for Hunt, how will Amara deal with the new addition, will Hunt release the danger he has put everyone in? and the chance of losing Amara for good? well written engaging, angst, action, desires and more end son another cliff-hanger.. Wow is all I have to say. Miss Hollis Kay, aka the Cliffhanger Queen, did it again.
This book was a rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish. ETS picks right up after book one.

Amara is recovering and Hunt blames himself for her near death experience.
That’s when things start to turn for the worst.
He starts to pull away from her, falling into a pit of self loathing and addiction where he blindly invites the enemy in.
Enter new agent in training, Vanessa Robinson.
If you look up the definition of bitch in the dictionary, you would probably see her there. She sinks her claws into Hunt, destroying his relationships.
When Mar all but saves his life, he snaps out of it. Hunt and Amara start to build their relationship back up with trust, laughs, and super steamy scenes. Until the end. I think I actually cried. I can NOT wait for the third book!

From the first few pages of book one, Into The Arms Of The Storm, I was absolutely hooked and that fact remains coming into book two. Enduring The Storm picks up exactly where we last left Amara and Hunt. Hollis’ ability to keep her timelines precise is incredible, and something that an analytical reader such as myself appreciates immensely.
The storyline of this book is just as exciting as the first, bringing a collective of strong and defined MCs, and no shortage of absolute thrill. And once again, Hollis continues to serve all of the spice at the most opportune moments. Only when we are good and deserving 🤣

Enduring The Storm is Book 2 in the Storm series. Please check triggers and content warnings before reading. This book picks up right after the cliffy from book 1 so if you haven't read book 1 then grab it first. This story had me sucked in with each page turn. I really was hooked in book 1 but book 2 gave me even more to obsess with. I loved this book and I'm excited to read book 3.

Another fantastic instalment in the series. Deliciously dark and dangerous, not for the fainthearted. Great character development and storyline evolution. Would recommend. Cannot wait for the next book.

Enduring The Storm continues the dark romance between Amara and Killian. Their relationship seems to change somewhat as Killian tries to withdraw from Amara. This well written and suspenseful book ends in a cliffhanger.

After reading book one I had to read the next one! I am in love with this series, I couldn't put it down! There were times I was so worked up I couldn't go to sleep until I got to a part where it was not as intense. The drama between the characters was intense and I'm glad it worked out how it did, but the ending was another major cliffhanger! So naturally I'll be reading the next one!
