Unfortunately, my dear old grandfather Lucifer has other plans.
After the downfall of my traitorous cousin, the Underworld is in an uproar. Demons are running amuck in the supernatural and human worlds alike as warlords vie for the usurped throne. I shouldn’t care, but I do. I have enough problems with my fickle demon, the SIA on my tail and a certain exasperating dragon bodyguard.
When Delacroix calls in a favor, we have no choice but to intervene, bringing me right into the mouth of hell. The demon mob boss already fooled me once, can I really trust him again?
As if my demonic political problems weren’t bad enough, a traitor betrays me to the SIA. Running is my only option and guess where I end up…
Maybe Lucifer was right, and the prophecy is true. Maybe I do belong in the Underworld.
But will I survive as the dark lord of the sixth realm, and more importantly, where would that leave Talon?
G.K. De Rosa has been an avid reader from a very young age. In fact, before she could even read, she tried fooling everyone into thinking that she could. At the precocious age of two, while living in Italy, she had memorized an entire children’s book in Italian and expertly turned the pages at the exact right moments of the story. As she grew up, she always enjoyed literature, no doubt having been instilled with a love of story telling from her early years in Catholic school where she was greatly influenced by exemplary teachers who taught her the value of English and Literature. Though she did not pursue writing in college and instead went for the more traditional route of International Business inspired by her love for travel and all things foreign, after a move to New York City, she found her creative writing side calling once again. She began writing a restaurant review blog, City Lights and Tasty Bites, detailing her other passion – food! The hectic hustle and bustle of the city, combined with long commuting times gave her the opportunity to spend more time reading and rekindled a lost love. After reading countless books in many diverse genres over the two years in New York City, and returning to her home state of Florida, she felt compelled to write something for herself. She had always felt particularly drawn to Young Adult novels and having been an eternal romantic at heart, a fantasy romance was a natural choice. She currently lives in South Florida with her real life Prince Charming and their fur baby, Nico the German Shepherd.
The ending to this series was amazing. I like this one more then the last one. I loved the ending to there story. And seeing character from other books is fun to.
This book was bittersweet because it brings an end to the series but it goes out with a bang!!
GK DeRosa’s series should be a must for lovers of paranormal romance and the paranormal genre itself! This series is non-stop action, excitement, adventure, romantic attraction in spite of a hate determination and just a really good read!! It has witches, fairies, demons, vampires, fallen angels, gargoyles, werewolves, and last but not least dragons! Now who can pass up an opportunity to have all these and more to get your blood flowing and keep you glued to the pages into the wee hours of the morning! I for one am guilty as charged as one who read into the middle of the night because I just couldn’t put the book down!! If you’re looking for a book which will keep your interest, well here’s a series which will do just that!!
I recommend this whole series as one I truly feel readers will enjoy. It is fast paced and there are no lulls in the stories at all! GK is a masterful creator of supernatural worlds where creatures we may never really gave a second chance to live and thrive! The imagery makes you think you are right there with the characters and like any good book these characters soon become close friends of yours!
The beauty of books and a series is your “old” friends are just waiting until you revisit them again and get caught up in the drama all over again!
A couple of questions I had since book one are finally revealed in this final book so that puts a nice “finish” to this book and the series! I found myself envious of those with supernatural powers and I daydreamed a lot wondering how or what I would do if I possessed any or all of those tenancies!
Kudos to you GK for another wonderful book in this series which is sure to garner approval from all those who love this genre as much as I do! Terrific job and now it’s onward and upward as a new series is about to be ushered in to a public already craving for more action and adventures only you can satisfy!
Great way to wrap of the series. Of the four DBP books, this one was my favorite. Not only was it action packed, steamier and more romantic, but there was also a lot of character growth...esp in the second half of the book.
I love that Azara started to realize there were important decisions that had to be made and I REALLY loved that Talon was willing to support her no matter what. I felt like his character grew the most and he totally made me swoon when he started to ignore his Alpha tendeAlpha nature and wanted to be the best support team for our girl.
(I still really wish I got my scene of Taon meeting Flare and realizing that his Alpha is family to Azara... but oh well.)
Overall a fun addictive read. I'm also ready for new series because the character I met briefly in this book has me intrigued.
I really loved the conclusion to the series. Talon and Azara finally stopped the pushing-pulling motion on each other and tackled things together. It was really nice to see Talon offer to go along with whatever Azara thought would work best, even when he wanted to protect her. His protectiveness was one of my favorite things about him, but it was nice he stopped stifling her.
I’m really excited for the new series DeRosa is working on, and that it will be in a little-seen part of Azar up to this point. I’m also excited to meet new characters, because while I’ve loved getting multiple stories about Garrix’s different children/grandchildren, I think it’s time to leave that family alone. I couldn’t stand anything more happening to them; they’ve been through so much! 😭

This series is just incredible. Just when you think it can’t get any better, BAMN! It does!! The fast paced storyline is addictive, action packed and full of betrayal , mystery and manipulation. Azara is as kickass as ever and I just love her and Talon together and their steam and chemistry is so hot! Inner demons are faced and enemies confronted, questions answered and rebel underworlds fought and I am very sorry to see this come to an end!
Azara is still hiding out and trying to decide what to do. There's the pesky prophecy hanging around, demons running everywhere, her attraction to a surly male, and an agency after her; what's a girl to do? Azara is powerful and she lets it fly. It's a great conclusion to this series. I volunteered to read this book.
Azarra and Talon’s relationship dynamic changes a lot throughout the 4 book series. He protects her while they’re in prison; even if he’s an undercover agent; he helps to control her soul sucking demon, and he opens himself up to a woman just coming into her powers, while trying to battle his own lust, their missions, the supernatural prisoners, and his fellow agents/brothers.
Talon’s a dragon shifter and total badass that demands respect from the prisoners. Gen pop fear him and his brothers. Azarra being put into their bunk when she’s unconscious is the upmost best thing for her survival. She comes into her own; not to make it seem like shes a damsel in distress, and makes sure she doesn’t let others keep her down with the help of The Triad. I was into reading the books right after the other, I didn’t stop to review each of them.
Talon’s fight against himself to stay professional with Azarra, while he still thinks she murdered his adopted brother from her initial soul sucking rampage, is really intense. He reacts like a hot head and gives her crap when he can’t handle the emotions he’s feeling and he doesn’t know where to direct them, since he can’t just kiss her into submission in the middle of a prison. The eventual blood bond that brings them closer together makes her question whether or not the feelings she has for him are real or from the blood bond. When it dissipates she misses it like crazy and lets him think that she was only into him because of it in the first place. With her being so young and in such a hard place and situation it’s easy to imagine she would try to push him away, instead of working/finding out what they really feel for each other.
As bad as I wanted them to get together, I so agreed with Talon that their first time having sex shouldn’t have been on the dirty subway, in an empty car, while it’s stalled. It’s was a great and awful cliffhanger when she was kidnapped while they were on the same mission when they just had sex for the first time. Her cousin, I can’t remember his name, brain washing her, setting her demoness free to eat more innocent or not so innocent souls and wiping her memory. Her going back to the prison to find out why she feels something for Talon when she can’t remember him, and they have to try to start working through a different situation where they should be together, but he can’t because she doesn’t remember him and her demon is still out of control.
The patience, control, and determination for how Talon is able to pull through that is hard to fathom, but awe inspiring. Then it’s all blown away when Azarra’s demoness pulls Vander into the mix because Talon won’t tell Azarra more about what they were to each other and more about what memories she’s missing or them. His pushing Vander out of assisting the team is so justified, even if it is painful reflecting on how Vander’s parents took Talon in after his parents died or were killed; I can’t remember which. Azarra can’t remember what happened between her and Vander because her demon took over since she was drunk. She hates herself for letting it happen and somehow Talon is still able to slowly able to come back to the idea of them. It gives you hope in love, while you’re also questioning where the hell his head is at that he can get past that.
His speech and proposal of them initiating the mating bond is so heartfelt - in the King’s bathhouse. I felt like he was trying to bring forth the idea and memories he had of his parent’s mating bond and how in love they were. He becomes even more protective and possessive of Azarra once they’re mated. I loved how protective he was of her, even it was too intensive, it showed how much he cared and loves her. She takes care of him and comforts him. I cried when I thought he was going to die after being poisoned by the enemies arrows in the underworld and she saves him with her blood this time, when he did it initially, and it brought them closer toward the beginning. They saved each other; fought to stay together. I’m really picking about endings in general, but there’s being a quiet dance around family and friend before the next hurdle they will have to face together comes along seemed to fit just perfectly for them.

I really enjoyed this series and how it added to the whole Azar world this author has created ♡ everything in the first 3 books finally came to a head and sealed the way it should have, despite not being sure how things would end up with Azara and Talon for a while there I was glad they got their HEA.
Thax being thrown off the throne of the 6th realm should have been good news for Azara but the new lord was no better and with a seer still seeing a prophecy of Azara sitting on that throne she wasn't safe, add in a traitor turning her whereabouts over after she'd been in hiding she had no where to hide but with the cousin who betrayed her previously. Azara wanted a future with Talon but a life on the run wasn't how she pictured their time together, she knew the only way out was to confront the dark lord once and for all but things didn't turn out hoe they should or perhaps they did and Azara found herself where she never wanted to be on the throne of the 6th realm what she didn't expect was that her new mate bond could spell disaster for the realm, she needed a stronger mating in order to strengthen the wards of her realm but she refused a consort in order to do so she only wanted Talon and so she went against what her mother had always done and reveled all her magic sides and showed the underworld she was plenty strong on her own. As much as she tried to outrun destiny, fate always had a way of making things right in the end.
Can we talk about screwed up is Vander? Guy is tasked with surveillance. Watching Azara 24/7 made him believe to be in love with her. And she didn’t even know he existed. Stalker feelings much? Then, when she was drunk, mentally vulnerable, they hooked up. He knew perfectly what he was getting into. He knew about Talon’s feelings for her and did it anyway because he would not have another chance. She feels guilty for “leading him”. She was feeling alone and Talon pushing her away didn’t help with her decision making. Their friends watching the whole scene also didn’t help. They could have stopped her and didn’t because “she knew what she was doing”. Then Vander, in a shitass act, decide to go and screw things even more by calling the SIA on her. And she still wants Talon to forgive him because they’re “family”? Hell no. Vander dig his own grave when a) didn’t pull himself from assignment when he realized things were getting personal, b) let go of control when he was supposed to be protecting her during the party and c) destroyed the whole squad on a spurned love moment. The little chance Talon had on forgiving him eventually flushed out at that moment. Yep, I’m still reeling from this.

Well that's it! I have finished the fourth and final book in this series. I have had a great time reading these, it has been a bit like a rollercoaster, but totally riveting. I am feeling a bit bereft this morning, knowing it is over, a bit like losing a friend. However I am pleased with the the ending As you know I must be this authors oldest fangirl, I love her books and this series has been one of my favourites. The characters and well written, strong and relatable and I loved them. Azara in particular was a fabulous character a great female lead, and along with Talon they had quite a few scrapes and adventures before they finally discovered their true love. It was worth it. All the other characters remained strong throughout all four books, I didn't get bored with any of them which can happen over a series sometimes (I find myself wishing the author would kill them off) but these all had a part to play and played it well. Thankfully I have found another series by G.K. DeRosa which I have started on so tonight I will be a happy bunny once again.
Thank you to a fab author for these books that keep me company through long sleepless nights.
>Book Review – Demon Dark Lord >I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 4th and final in the Darkblood Prison series and ends in a much-needed HEA. The plot is converging towards the fulfillment of the prophesy, though no on is really giving Azara a lot of details about the prophesy. Azara’s memories return and her torture in the underworld is horrific. Azara and Talon fully mate, upping the romance a lot! They are constantly on the run or fighting, which makes the book’s pages turn quickly. >Azara’s parents show up finally. I wanted them to challenge Talon a bit more. There are surprising betrayals and an even more protective Talon. The epilogue was great. This series was worth reading, with a ton of action and romance. >This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. I wish there was more of Azara and Talon’s day to day life in the underworld. I had a hard time believing Talon could live underground.
What a perfect ending to G.K. DeRosa’s Darkblood Prison series. I absolutely loved it! This book had it all: action, manipulations, betrayals, undying love, and a heroine who fights for what she wants, no matter what fate has to say about it.
There are so many things happening in this last installment, my eyes were glued to the pages all hours of the night. Who needs sleep anyway? Azara is kickass as always as she makes her way through everyone else’s plans and prophecies for her life until she decides to take matters into her own hands. There may be things foretold, but Azara is definitely not one to sit idly by as they unfold, especially when it comes to a certain dragon.
Well done, Ms. DeRosa. I can’t wait to read what’s next, whether it be in the awesome world of Azar or a new one.
I have been consistently reading all the series based in the world of Azar and one thing I have observed is that all the main characters enjoy using the word 'Bleh' 😂. It's probably the most beloved word in Garrix's family history.
Anyway, this final book offers a fantastic ending to the tale. Apologies have been acknowledged, the brotherhood relationship is nearly repaired, and the matter has been resolved with the SIA.
Above all, we discover the outcome of the prophecy, the throne, and witness the blossoming of Azara and Talon's relationship.
One last thing, Azara encounters Hunter, the Alpha's son, in the story, allowing us a peek at the territory. The distinctiveness of their houses has captured my interest, and I'm hoping that the upcoming series will be about him 😊.
What an ending! After reading book one, I didn’t expect the story to go in this direction, but it was perfect. Really, it had to come to this (I don’t want to say too much because of spoilers!). Azara faced her inner demons (or just the lusty she-demon inside ; )) and confronted her enemies. Book 4 felt so epic without a bunch of boring filler. There was tons of action and twists that kept me turning the page. And a big YES on the steam! I love Azara and Talon together ; ) Azara and Dragon-Talon fighting rebel underworlds was definitely one of my favorite scenes. I wish this series didn’t have to end, but I can’t wait to see what the author comes up with next!
A liberating story of what a girl/demon can do, especially with a man/dragon for a boyfriend. This story has so many branches to it and is enticing to all. Azara had so many people against her that she had to be guarded by Talon, her boyfriend and friends of a special group. After being kidnapped under their noses and hunting for Azara, the big trouble begins in earnest but it helps to have a grandfather that's the devil. What the neck is going on now? To find out hurry and get the book, it's fun to read and has a very sexy dragon, woo hoo!
in the end, azura played into the prophecy and it was nice to see talon follow azura’s lead and support her from behind. from being all alpha-y and telling azura what to do, he really came far.
the ending was a neat way to wrap it all up, and even though their friendship isn’t the same that it used to be (which I’m pretty disappointed because talon was desperate to save vander in the beginning bc they were like brothers) I’m glad to see small steps of forgiveness from talon to vander.
I was a bit confused starting this book as it just retold the third book all the way through in this fourth book and then had a small part of new stuff that continued Azara and Talons story. I dont know if this is actually what this book was meant to be or if somehow it was an error through the kindle app or whatever so I felt a little bit let down and disappointed by this book because of it. Im glad Azara and Talon got their HEA but yeah just a little bit unsure how I feel about this book.
I hate when a good series comes to a end. And this was definitely a series that not only good but sensational. Absolute beaut of a series. Entertaining ,addicting and brilliant. A binge read worth reading.
This is the kind of series you need in your life. Not only is it perfect for when you are in one of those head spaces that make you feel like your in some kind of book funk but it’s a keeper for times when you need that happy and exciting time. That’s how this series made me feel anyway 😁
This wonderfully entertaining storyline is fast-paced, action-packed, set a little in the future, and has twists. There is anguish, memory loss, lies and betrayals, and lovers who must find their way back to each other. The secondary characters are amazing and deserve their own books and HEAs, there is also plenty of chemistry, and a determination to undo what was wrought. Please hurry with the next volume of Azara and Talon's story.I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
This was an excellent concluding book. It was well written and the characters and story are well developed. I loved seeing the character relationship dynamics evolve and change through the book. The story was action packed and full of twists and turns. There was suspense, intrigue, emotion, hot chemistry and romance. I’d highly recommend this book and the series as a whole. It was an amazing read!!
Demon Dark Lord by G.K. Derosa is Book 4 in the Darkblood Prison series. This fourth and final book does not disappoint. It is a fast paced, action packed, page turning ending with lots of twists/turns and character growth (especially Talon when he ignores his alpha tendencies to support Azara and keep her safe). Love does triumph in the end. Hope to see some of these characters in the future. I highly recommend this series. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary review.
This was the expected, but the nauseating weirdness hasn't sat well with me. The line "Talon had loved me unconditionally from the start" made me want to chuck the kindle out the window. Apparently she doesn't know what "unconditionally" means because that was not it. Lots of other daft little things wrong too. Odd placement of words or phrases. Won't be reading any of the others.
Continuing along on this high intensity emotional journey that keeps me guessing and invested in the characters and their struggles. Of course, I was hooked from book 1 with a dragon shifter. I love everything about this book and the entire series.
An all-encompassing epic conclusion to the series. Loved the epilogue and all the tied-up relationships.
I did not want to see this series end but the author (as always) wraps it up epically. Azara's growth in this book is beautiful. I hope some of the characters get spin offs. I loved the twists and turns the story took. Overall I was captivated from start to finish and had a hard time putting the series down
This was an almost perfect ending to Azara’s story and while she does get her HEA along with a little revenge, I do wish Talon and Vander made amends here. So much happened in this book, yet it didn’t feel rushed which was a relief. I’m definitely going to be eagerly awaiting the next series which sounds like it may revolve around the wolves this time.
What a finale to this series! This story is explosive. Azara and Talon really come into their own, and have to trust one another more than ever to overcome the trials they face. I loved the whole underworld theme and Lucifer is hysterical. Sorry to come to the end of this series, but what a read it has been.
I read all 4 books in the last 24 hours and I must say I was practically glued to my phone trying to finish! I loved their story so much! I almost want to try real tears over the emotions I felt in their story. It’s such a special series after reading the other books in this world. This was worth the wait.
