Shifter For The Holidays #2

A Shifter for New Years

Rate this book
Burke Dunne’s Pride of lion shifters is finally growing. One year ago, his brother finally chose a human mate in Leslie, and Turned her. One year ago, he started opening up to the possibility that he would someday be an uncle. One year ago, he watched Leslie’s sister, Kimberly, struggle through a divorce, and has watched her be weighed down by her reality ever since. At every Wilson family party throughout the year, she’s grown quieter and quieter, and it doesn’t sit well with him. She’s losing everything, and the animal inside of him wants to point her in the right direction again. Not because he cares. Of course not because of that. But because he doesn’t like seeing alpha females go weak and get broken by circumstance. But as he steps out of the routine of his life to make sure she’s okay, he falls for her quiet strength, and her brazenness, and her tenacity. Kimberly is on a journey, and he wants to be a part of it. She has a lot to prove in the new year, and he wants to have that front row seat at seeing her not only succeed, but step out of the shadow of her family name and become her own legend.

Kimberly is losing everything. The future that she’d thought she had is dead and buried, and she’s coming out of a split that stole her entire life. When her sister, Leslie, offers her a job at a pottery shop, and a small home to call her own, everything in her wants to run back to the comfortable life her parents are tempting her with. But Burke Dunne is challenging her to be more than just some Wilson with a planned, perfect future. He’s wanting more for her. He’s wanting her to work harder and be her own woman. And the more he tells her she can, the more she believes she can too. She has big resolutions this year, but they don’t include tethering herself to a shifter with a red mark on his name. Burke is off-limits for a human like her, and the rules they are breaking could send him right to shifter prison. All she wants for the new year is a simpler, easier, worthwhile life…but sometimes ultimate sacrifices need to be made to reach a dream so steady.

I'll be the first one in line when TS Joyce has a new release, but I love her enough to be honest too. This felt rushed, had way too many typos, and didn't come anywhere near my normal level of enjoyment. A reluctant 3 stars.

Nice story...but the punctuation errors were distracting. also the thing that happened to him near the end didn't really make sense at all. And the mother's turn about also didn't ring all that true to me.

What made this one fun for me to read was how much Burke believed in Kimberly. He was right there cheering her on, despite seeing her at her despicable ways in the previous book. That really helped Kimberly realize that she wanted to be the person he saw and helped her adjust to the new choices she was making. The New Year's Eve party was a doozy! Started out good, then when the mom went crazy, went bad, had good again when the two couples escaped and ended so very horribly. I liked how things were resolved, very out of the box, but it worked. I really liked seeing how things ended, how happy Burke and Kimberly were, but more was how the next years New Year's party, so different, but so much better.

New Years Resolutions🤩

Kimberly has reached a point in her life where she feels as though she is a complete failure - her marriage is over, she has no job and no idea where her future will take her😢 Burke has observed Kimberly from a distance over the last year since his brother mated with her sister, Leslie and he’s watched her withdraw more each time😳 The time has come to show her WHO exactly she is other than her name and her family’s wealth and he’s just the lion to show her😜

A wonderful story that took both characters by surprise when feelings grew between them but so heartwarming as well😍 A not to be missed story that will set the “right” tone for the new year❤️

I enjoyed this. Not as much as a shifter for Christmas but still enjoyed reading it. Kimberly did get on my nerves a little in the beginning and she did grow on me but I didn’t fall in love her with like I did Leslie in the first book.
I enjoyed watching Burke and Kimberley’s growth and a cheeky little twist of sorts towards the end was welcomed.

This one was totally different than many of T.S. Joyce’s Shifter Books. I loved its tenderness, the growth of the characters and visiting with our last couple again. So precious, so sweet and definitely a tender love story.

This story was okay. It wasn't that memorable. A woman who has just gone through a divorce is courted by a shifter.

Happenings!!!

Burke Dunne, Kieran's ( A SHIFTER FOR CHRISTMAS ) brother whom we've met in the previous book was a changed man. His Lion Pride was growing. His brother found his mate one year ago, turned her and they were trying to have a cub.

He watched his sister-in-law's sister, Kimberly struggle through a divorce and she kept getting quieter and quieter at their family gatherings. Which didn't sit well with him. His animal wanted to show her that she was much stronger than people or even herself thought. As he tried to help her rediscover her inner strength, he kept falling for her little by little.

Kimberly Wilson was losing everything she thought would make her happy but when her sister, Leslie offered her a job at her pottery shop. She just wanted to run back to her secure and familiar place.

But the sexy as sin Adonis, Burke Dunne was challenging her to become more than a broken person. She couldn't help but fall for him. The feeling was mutual. Loved how their relationship grew stronger and stronger each passing day.

To see Kimberly's growth was magnificent. Mrs Wilson changed as well, things were looking up for the Wilsons. Like how they had each other's backs.

A SHIFTER FOR NEW YEARS is the second installment in T. S. Joyce's SHIFTERS FOR THE HOLIDAYS series. It was alluring, fast-paced and intriguing. T. S. Joyce did a remarkable job! 5++++

This the second book in this series and they should be read in order. This book takes place about a year after the first one. Kimberly is recently divorced and struggling. She is Leslie’s sister. Leslie wants to help her sister find herself. Burke has taken notice of Kimberly as well. He wants to help too but for different reasons. His lion is interested in her as well. But Kimberly isn’t ready for something new. She needs to find herself. Figure out how to be on her own and stand up for herself. Leslie and Burke are going to help her even when she may not want to be helped. I loved this book so much. The characters are great. Kimberly goes through quite the transformation in this book. She is learning that maybe Leslie has always had the right idea when it comes to their family and how to deal with them. Burke helps Kimberly in ways she didn’t even know she needed help. Even their mother finally sees how she can help her girls without controlling them. This book has a bit of heartache as well. Burke and Kimberly have some big challenges to overcome if they want to be together. Burke could get in a lot of trouble for just dating Kimberly if someone tells on them. I can’t recommend this book or the series enough. Fantastic job once again T.S. Joyce.

I loved it!

This 2 book series about lion shifter brothers, and the woman who they choose to love, and protect is a real emotional ride. It started with the younger Wilson sister, Leslie, and the younger Shifter brother, Kiernan. The wealthy family, is brought up believing that their family name, and wealth must continue, through successful , and advantageous marriages. Leslie is already a disappointment to her mother. Unmarried, living in a tiny house, and opening her own ceramic studio/ store, she hires a shifter as her date for the family "show your wealth" parties. He's just trying to earn enough money to keep his late parents home. Great story. This book is about the older Wilson sister. She always tried to do everything right for her Mother, now she's the first divorcee Wilson, in 4 generations. She's taken to the cleaners by her lawyer ex. She starts to listen to her Black Sheep sister, whose now a Lioness shifter. She's happy fulfilled, and has no regrets. Now Kimberly is learning how to live really cheap, and Burke, who is Leslie's brother in law, is really happy to show her how to stick up for herself, and enjoy comfy clothes, and Ugg boots. How this story ends is so emotional, and it was a hard earned happy ending. READ THESE BOOKS!. You will love them.

A Shifter for New Years: Shifter for the Holidays Book 2
By T. S. Joyce

Kimberly Wilson has just gone through a divorce, the first Wilson in four generations to get divorced. When her sister, Kimberly, (from book 1) suggested she live in her tiny house behind the pottery shop, she couldn't say no. Kimberly knew it was the best option for her.
Being a lion shifter is hard, there are rules to follow. the rules for lion shifters are that you have to Turn a human immediately if you choose them. You only get one in a lifetime. But and Burke has already used his up.
I enjoyed this book just as much as I enjoyed book one. Both of the sisters were great characters and their journey through the books was believable. It was nice seeing 1010 again, there is so much magic around that address. Lion shifters are my go-to shifter and because of that, I'm always ready to jump into a lion shifter book. This book had it all. I'm hoping there is another book to this series I'd hate for this series to end.

New Year, New shifter.

Good Ol Fashioned girl doesn't need boy to save her and be the hero,
She just needs someone to be there when things get hard and she the changes are heavy.

Kimberley was the picture perfect sister, the one her that by accident became the most like her mother. But when her husband left her, she finally has a chance to break the mold she put herself in. I down right enjoyed reading the growth she went through.

Burke was not what I expected at all. Actually I didn't know what I expected but that was not it. All gruff and tuff maybe, but really he was the teddy bare in lion skin. He had depth and the biggest heart. Kimberley finding herself was all that mattered, he could have came last and he still would have been there for her.

I kinda hope that we get to stick around in this world a little longer cause it's new and the rules are different to alot of other series' by this author. I would love to see where she goes with it and the characters she creates.

No fresh characters.

I knew within the first few pages this wasn’t going to work for my tastes.
The main female, Kimberly is the sister to Leslie from book one.
The main male, is the brother to Kiernan in book one.
I was hoping for new female character instead of brother sister match up to previous mains.
Combine, that with the fact Kimberly was a snooty hot mess even though it had been like a year since her divorce, she didn’t need to get in with a man yet. But Leslie and her holier than thou attitude telling Kimberly “how it is”, even if she did need to hear some of it, it was the delivery. No thanks.
Plus, this is a New Years book and it’s several weeks after New Years. This should have been closer to an actual New Years release date. Either put it out right before or hold it till the next New Years. Because now with it being almost Valentine’s Day, I had a hard time trying to get into the whole holiday season vibe.

A lion shifter, Burke ,who's brother turned Burke's sister in law, when they fell in love. Burke has been watching Leslie's sister- Kimberly, go thru a divorce. he helps her find herself, after being spoiled rich, pampered all her life. Kimberly grows and finds herself, after living in small house her sister Leslie lived in, and works for her sis Leslie. after getting strong, and standing up for herself, Burke and Kimberly's feeling grow. Leslie and Kimberly, were no close growing up, but thru out, Kim's personal journey, they grow closer, and share a few misunderstandings from childhood. In able to be with Burke, sister Leslie Turns Kim, in order Burke and her can have a relationship. Gets him out of jail, now that she is a shifter, and not a human, any longer. great story, loved that she started a new life emotionally, physically, for the real world.

A Shifter for New Years

A divorce and a fall from rich socialite to miserable and broke. Kimberly is facing having to move back into her parents' home and face, having her mother choose her future or make a change. Change will have to start with her. Can she do it? Does she want to change. Her sister is mated to a lion shifter and offered to help her. Her mate has a brother, and all three are willing to help, but does she want to make the change. After a lot of hard work, she finally made a turn and happiness is in her grasp, when her mother makes a decision that could destroy both their lives. The solution will require her to die for him. Can and will she make the sacrifice? I loved this story about personal growth, love, sacrifice, and the willingness to go for what you want. I love a HEA and a hot shifter.

Great !!!

Kimberly is the sister of the heroine from the previous book. She believes that her whole life is nothing but a failure. She has always met and surpassed the expectations put on her by her family. At least she did until her divorce. Now the only one there for her is the "black sheep" of the family and a lion shifter named Burke.
Burke knows Kimberly because of her sister Leslie. He knows what she is going through and teaches her that she needs to learn to please herself before she can please anyone else.
This story is great!! I love that Burke is there for her but also gives her the space she needs. The unconditionality that he gives to her is priceless. I think Burke is the perfect book boyfriend!!

I suggest starting this book on a morning.. I couldn’t put it down and after Leslie sister Kimberly marriage break down leaving Kim at rock bottom with not evan 2ps to rub together her sister the black sheep of the family offer Kim a place to stay.. as Kim calls on the shack. Kim is so used to the high life moving into such a small house that her offer to her feel so much like charity also I remember her life isn’t how she planned it.. burke always watch Kim on the occasion where the Wilson family throw party’s. Always found Kim interesting. Know she going throw a divorce and her life been turned upside down he offers to help her move into the place Kim calls the shack... Burke only though he was helping her out not opening a door to something new

Great Book - And I Ain’t Lion!!

It is so much fun to read all of TS Joyce’s books, and her latest, A Shifter for New Year’s (Shifter for the Holidays Book 2) continues the happiness!

This author is powerful, in that each of her books holds a message - ‘you are important’ - and being important means taking the responsibility to make yourself happy. By doing so, the ripple effect causes those who love you to feel a part of that happiness.

This is a paranormal romance, where lions choose their life mates. The joy, and pain, of loving another wholeheartedly crosses barriers for anyone who feels the need to protect and grow your heart.

Ultimately, that is what TS Joyce helps us do with her stories... grow our hearts!

Amazing!!

I chose this rating because T.S. Joyce is an AMAZING storyteller! I have read every book that she has written and have fallen in love with each one. I love the kickass women who don't put up with any shit and the men who love them.
In this book Kimberly is learning how to be her own woman after growing up always depending on others for everything, first her father then her husband. As she goes through this Burke is there by her side the whole time, teaching her she doesn't have to be perfect and being herself if ok. I love the message this story told; it's ok to be yourself and to grow from where you came from. Don't let how you grew up define who you will always be.

Kimberly has lost just about everything when Brayden divorced her about a year ago. Now as she was about to move back home when her sister Leslie offered her the smallest house and a job. A chance to rebuild herself without having to rely on the "Wilson" family fortune.
Burke, Kieran's brother has watched her slowly defeat herself this past year. Knowing he could Never have a relationship with her he can not let her be so Defeated. But he can help her find Herself! Hopefully without destroying himself in the process.
I have to stop here. You have to read the rest for yourself. It is Amazing and truly worth the 5 Stars I gave it. I laughed, I got mad, I cheered, I got excited, I hoped and fell in Love with Burke!

T.S. Joyce is an author that I automatically purchase whatever new book she has out AS SOON as I possibly can. I follow her on Facebook and Instagram because she makes my heart happy with her antics and love that she's living her best life.

As with most of her stories the characters are quirky, have flaws, unique and so full of personality it's hard to believe that they aren't real at times. I love the literary worlds that T.S. creates and I can never get enough.

This story in particular had some amazing character growth and important life lessons mixed in with the Shenanigans and Shifters. Definitely worth reading and I couldn't recommend an author more to anyone willing to try the Paranormal/Shifter Romance world.

Another awesome book

I love T.S. Joyce's books including this one. You can always count on an emotional ride from laugh out loud moments to heart wrenching tears. Kimberly's life is in upheaval. Her husband has divorced her and she's gone from being a rich, controlling woman to being a broke lost woman. Her sister Leslie had broken away from their demanding mother and found happiness in a simple life. She met her mate and was turned into a lion shifter. Kieran's brother Burke is determined to help Kim find her true self and her own happiness. It's an awesome story and you won't want to miss reading it.

I'm really surprised I enjoyed this book as much as I did. I don't usually care for short books, but this one packed in quite a bit for 127 pages! Kimberly Wilson turns to her sister, Leslie (from the last book) after she gets divorced and doesn't know what to do with herself. She's tired of an empty life, so Leslie gives her a job and a place to live. She meets Burke, Keiran's brother and fellow lion shifter and initially they're at odds, but he starts to win her over with his wisdom and kindness. Burke actually had a lot of great lines in this book. I liked how Kimberly found her way to a better, kinder self.

A shifter romance that leaves you smiling.

As always T. S. Joyce did not disappoint. A love story to break any dark cloud hanging over a reader. The author has the ability to hit you in feels but leave you smiling and happy. Cheapest form of therapy there is. An quick and easy read about finding love for the second time. Divorce and break ups don't stop these two from finding true love and happiness. A shifter romance filled with funny comebacks and quirky, sassy woman finding strength in themselves and supported, cheered on by panty dropping hot lion shifters.

Another awesome story

TS Joyce has done it again. This story was another great read. Burke and Kimberly have to go through ups and downs to find themselves. Kimberly has a battle ahead of her and Burke in true mate fashion has her back all the way. They hit a bump in the road but those that love them gather around them to lend a hand through the tough parts. This story makes you laugh and cry and root for them all. These characters are so easy to relate to. I highly recommend reading this story!! Grab a copy and fall in love with Burke and Kimberly just like I did.
