I came into this without any prior knowledge of Mackenzie and Taryn and was easily able to follow along, though I am now aware there are other books that tell of how they get to the point we find them at the onset of this book. Being a reader that likes things to jump in and roll forward, I enjoyed starting here and getting to know them as we went along. There was a ton of action, deception, twists, and even a touch of romance. I enjoyed the world built here and the demon family feud. The end left me feeling a bit, well, I won’t spoil anything, but I hoped for more.
I would recommend it, and will seek out more from S.K. Gregory.
Enjoyed most of it but the end did not reach my expectations. Mackenzie disappointed me with her demon ability of the lack of. She can stop demons with just a word but she a!ways fails to do so. The end of the book was boring and gave me an empty feeling . Is one of those endings that doesn't encourage anticipation to read the next book.
