Interesting

A compelling story, one that is open, honest, and emotional about the effects of mental illness on those around them. I liked it but skimmed through some. Cursing.

Lovely story

This story is about mental illness in a marriage, but it showed so much more. Fear, love, hope, care, resilience, heartache, loss, growth, and faith. The letters Derrick left behind were so very intriguing and thoughtful. In his letters he expressed what he could not verbalize. This story touched my heart.

The Last Letter

A.A. Lewis I must give you a standing ovation! I started reading this book with intentions of reading a few chapters. Here it is 2:55 a.m. I could not stop reading it.
I worked in Mental Health for a number of years.
I so appreciate and applaud Mrs Lewis efforts. Usually authors gloss over and exaggerate Mental Health Issues.
She captured the highs and lows of Derrick's illness. It was realistic.
Tracy is truly a warrior.
Her writing was so realistic its as if it is based on a true story.
I absolutely loved how Derrick chose to still parent!
I will close by saying The Last Letter has definitely been placed on my favorite Book list.
A.A. Lewis one one of my favorite authors.

emotional

This was my first read from A.A. Lewis. I did enjoy the story. The highs and lows of mental health was represented well. Tracy who is reeling from the death of her husband is left with letters from him that help guide her through her grieving process while being left with an even more precious gift.

📝A last letter brings with it lots sadness, heartbroken feelings. When we read the letters we deeply feel about it, but last letters are little bit different from it, because it has brought with it sad, hurt which give us bad feelings. Last letters really hurt us and it always gives us tears when we read it.

📝But The Last Letter by A.A. Lewis is a different one, because here author explains how a woman struggle with her life in all moments and also she want explain that if a woman want, then she live her life in a great way and not need any one’s help for it.

📝The story starts with when Tracy and Derrick Montgomery were the epitome of a modern-day power couple. They had it all, the house, the careers and a marriage most everyone envied. Then one day, without warning, everything changed.

📝But at the end what happens to them and why they go far from each other, this is really a dark mystery of this book. I really very much interested to find out what happen to them and why they go far from each other. This story is really very interesting with lots of suspense in it.

📝Author decided that she really needed to get in tune with the thoughts and emotions that a man would express to a woman. In this story what male artist would give her that raw, sensual, edginess that she badly needed in her book. Who would give her the vast array of emotions in the celebrating the good times and the bad times.

📝I love this book a lot because the author writes this book in a great way, she writes this book for all women, those who are struggling with their life like this book woman character. She wants to help them to stand for their life and live a better life. I must recommend it to all.

Bleeding Emotions

Reading this book and having mental issues was like looking at myself in the mirror. To the outside world, everyone thinks you are living your best life, but on the inside, you are battling demons. Tracy is a superheroine throughout this novel, and most women would have needed to complete Derrick's requests after receiving the letters. I enjoyed the twists of how things came to be, but at the same time, parts of the novel touched my sad spots. I became emotional because people never listen when their emotions are bleeding.

The crazy part is that I left my paperback on the plane and had to finish it on the plane. I hope the stewardess is reading the book as well.

Thank you for writing an incredible story.

This book was written so beautifully. A man fighting a war inside his head. A wife staying by his side uncertain on how to love him while he fights. Somehow he manages to love and provide past death, while his wife finally understands the fight inside his head. Speaking and providing for his family from his grave. This audiobook will have you feeling every emotion and telling yourself don’t cry. The Last Letter will definitely stick with you. What’s a woman to do when her husband loves her beyond death do us part? A.A. Lewis, I felt every bit of this amazing story!!

This story was heart wrenching.. however so beautifully written. It puts so many things into perspective as it pertains to the struggles of mental health and partnership. I loved the audio book version. This story has a way of making you think. The love and realizations between the characters is so heart felt. The last letter was so thoughtfully orchestrated. I can’t tell you how many tears I held back listening to this.

Brae 2025 I picked up this audiobook. I’m grabbing a physical copy. The way that she captures not only men’s mental health but the wife’s side so perfectly.
I highly recommend listening to it but if you can’t do audio grab the book.
