My oldest friend might just be Lucifer, Angel of Darkness. That definitely wasn’t something I had on my trying-to-do-good-for-humanity bingo card.
It’s not just demons I have to deal with now. The demons have a new master, and he just happens to be one of my best friends.
I might have to kill him. Then again, I might not be able to kill him, due to some arcane rule about angels not being able to kill other angels. In the meantime, he’s gone underground, I’ve been looking for him, and I’ve been training, knowing the day will come soon when I have to face him.
Then I get a call from Kara, homicide cop for the LAPD and sort-of friend of mine. She wants me to check out a grisly new murder in Koreatown, one she suspects might have supernatural origins. She thinks my old pal and new dark angel might be involved, and after I visit the scene, I worry she might be right.
I don’t know it yet, but things are about to get a lot weirder, with arcane witches, angel-worshipping cults, and a lot of things I wasn’t ready to know about myself, or about Phoenix, the one person above all who I’m trying to protect.

Angel Dags has discovered that his oldest friend appears to be Lucifer, the Angel of Darkness which definitely means that the demons that Dags is fighting are actually serving their master Lucifer. Dags might have to kill him but then discovered that he can't kill him as there is an arcane rule that angels can't kill other angels. Now he has gone underground and so apart from training Dags is trying to find him as he knows at some point he will have to face him. Then his friend and LAPD homicide cop calls asking for Dags to check out a new murder in Koreatown which she believes have supernatural origins as it is so grisly. She believes that a dark angel is involved and Dags has to agree that it is probably his old friend. Things are likely got get weirder with the involvement of arcane witches, angel worshipping cults and a lot of things he wasn't ready to know about himself and Phoenix who he is still trying to protect. This is definitely going to get even more dramatic than he suspected.
I loved this story which was full of so many twists and turns as Dags discovered new information and both benefits and limitations in being an angel. I loved the way that he eventually had to move forward with the relationship between him and Phoenix and that she was far stronger than he ever imagines she would be in handling all of the changes that being an angel introduces. I loved the protectiveness of Dags and the strength of Phoenix which I look forward to seeing more of later in the series. Well written and easy to read and feel all of the thoughts and emotions experienced by the characters. Contains some sexual content. I can't wait to find out what happens next now.
Thank goodness this is not the last book in the series.
Thank goodness this is not the last book in the series. The whole series has been captivating, but the third installment Fury of Angels: Angels in LA 3 by JC Andrijeski is the most fulfilling so far. Dags and Phoenix are finding their way through the craziness in current events and their relationship (I’m not even going to try to explain any of that) while more secondary characters are introduced proving that even Dags can keep friends.
Thank you JC Andrijeski for every single epilogue!
This was a great story the 3rd in this trilogy. It's set up to where more books can be written. Dag learns more about what is happening but also stays confused as to what is his purpose. He is always worried and scared for Phoenix. All he knows is that he's trying to do good as he was told but is not sure he is good. Is he an angel, demon, bad, good or all of them. Read to find out.
In this third book about Dags and Phoenix things reach new heights of interest and excitement.Instead of devouring it in one sitting ,as I did the previous two books, I forced myself to make it last over four days so that I could enjoy it for longer because I 'm totally hooked on these books. But I 've finished it now and I 'm devastated because I want MORE! So good they're a a must read.
Fury of Angels, the third book in the Angels of LA series, is an ebook I downloaded from Kindle Unlimited. I'm not sure if this was dragged a bit in the pacing, or if I'm in too much of a hurry to unveil Dags' secrets. There wasn't as much forward progression as far as the overall plot, but there were some interesting reveals. I'm definitely hooked on the possibilities of this storyline.
Dags still doesn't remember who he was in a previous incarnation. He has a decent control with flying and using his power. Not enough to teach very much to his now awakened girlfriend, Phoenix. All it took was being kidnapped by Uri, (think Lucifer) to wake up her angel. Double trouble?
Dags and Phoenix continue their story in a tale that is gripping and interesting to read. Phoenix has finally come into her powers, and things are heating up as well with Uri and Jade.
A great story with lots of action and some romance. It will be interesting to see where their lives go and what it means for humanity.
Everything this writer does is pure genius. Have read everything she has written some of the series I've read twice especially the seer world. Cannot praise this writer's work enough. Looking forward to more.
Wow Dags really knows how to get himself into some messed up, weird, dangerous situations! As he struggles to get control of his abilities he also trys to protect those in his life. Fast paced complex and compelling! Loved it!
Awesome story telling, lots of POV, narrations, descriptions, drama, plots with a twist, action, some whining...oh for goodness let her true nature emerge! Gota grab the extra epilogue...see ya!
Kinda hard to figure out what's happening when you can't remember yourself. Now Dags has a whole lot of people relying on him so when he's asked to help, he does. He and Pheonix are caught up in the power struggle and we end on a cliffhanger.
I liked this story with demons vs angels ant the eventual awakening of a new angel. How she is awakened is quite interesting along with what is accomplished.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. I've read book 1-3 in the last week. Getting ready to start #4. It had me hooked from the very beginning. I suppose this is a read-a-thon.
As with the first two books this one keeps your interest with non-stop adventure and suspense. I highly recommend that you read it. Looking forward to reading more.
“Fury of Angels”, the third installment in the “Angels in L.A.” series by JC Andrijeski, is (until now) the very best book in a series that keeps improving with any new installment. After all the struggles of the last case, Dags is intended to gain some kind of control over his powers, being able to be aware of his surroundings during the ‘change’ and not end up naked in the full view of every one on sight afterwards, risking to be locked away on a cell, can only be an advantage. Classes with Ty seems to be going well, until Kara calls for help on her new case, a gruesome murder on Koreatown, with obvious links to the supernatural. Her list of suspects begins and probably end with Dags’ best friend, who might be or might too be the one and only Angel of Darkness himself. Dags share her suspicions; he even believes him to be the driving force behind the demons on Dags pursuit and if push come to shove…. wings are going to hit the fan because angels are forbidden from killing each other. And to top it all Phoenix (who Dags is intended to keep clear of all things “angelic” for her own good) gets drawn into the mess.
This is exactly how Urban Fantasy should be conceived, it has it all: • atmosphere (noir L.A, do I need to say more); • background story (a guy whose life has been forever changed by unexpected events); • plot (supernatural P.I. who juggles his official investigation business in Hollywood with his fate as demon hunter); • and then… then there is Dags Jourdain, said P.I. and the most interesting guy ever to glaze the UF verse. Imagine Angel (yes, the one from Buffy) without senseless brooding and real wit dry humor, and an uncanny power for accurate observation (usually called cynicism by those who don’t have it), a tendency to end up naked in the most inappropriate places (don’t blame him! It’s a side effect of his power), and a very pragmatic approach to (his supernatural) life, the fact that he is also easy on the eyes is just a bonus, did I mention he is demon hunter angel. There are not enough stars in Hollywood to rate this guy 😊.
JC Andrijeski has created an amazing character, infusing him with enough humor, credibility, charisma and intelligence to make him come alive throughout the pages, almost perfect, almost because, there is caveat though: once you meet Dags you would not be able to escape his charm, the lure of the….. angel will have you forever in its grasp. A fully addictive series, beware before reading, there is no coming back, which is already a senseless warning, because if you are already here, you have already been hooked for the last two books already 😉
For demon-hunting angel Dags Jourdain, life just got even more complicated as he suspects that his oldest friend might be the Angel of Darkness himself (Lucifer) and he is controlling the demons that Dags is trying to kill. However, he can't kill his friend as there is an arcane rule that an angel can't kill another angel. In the meantime, Dags has been looking for him while training to prepare for when he does have to face him. Dags is also trying to protect his mate Phoenix X while trying to help her in the best way he can. So when homicide detective and old school friend Kara calls with a new murder scene in Koreatown to check out as it has supernatural origins, he suspects that his old friend is involved. What Dags didn't anticipate, is how much more weird things are going to go as he has a case with arcane witches, an angel-worshipping cult and a lot of things he wasn't ready to know about both himself and Phoenix. Can he sort through it all and work out what is going on?
Oh wow - so many events and pieces of new information came out of this book which involved everything moving on in the angel and demon side of things. We learnt a lot of new information about the character's backgrounds as well as what they actually were. It was great to see Phoenix taking a bigger role in this story and hopefully, they will both continue to take a more active role in the following stories. This was well written and it was easy to read, feel and understand. Very addictive and I definitely ignored some of real life in order to find out what was going to happen next. I definitely need to know what is going to happen next. Contains some sexual content.
