Cari Porter has just woken up in a motel room. She doesn’t remember anything about her past, how she got there, where she’s going, or even who she is. But she does have a list of names that she has a burning desire to kill. But those aren’t her only problems. There are also people after her. She doesn’t know them, either. But they’re coming… and they plan to kill her.

This is the first book of a brand new series for author Mike Ryan, who has announced that his "Eliminator Series" will be ending soon, (something that brings sadness to my heart). That said "The Cari Porter Series" will definitely be on my "must read" list.
The author, Mr. Mike Ryan, has done a more than excellent job in both characterization and in the plot of this book and I suggest, as always, that you read the "author blurb" for more detail as I'm loathe to write something that may quite inadvertently become someone's spoiler. I will say that this book grabbed me, and would not let me go once I started it.
"Cari Porter" as a character is strongly developed and the plotline is excellent. It provides both excitement, and suspense, and you simply do not wish to put it down.
Yes. I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my writing and submitting a review, that however did not, nor will it ever, influence my review. This, as are all my reviews, is an honest evaluation of how enjoyable I personally found the book.
Yes I highly recommend this book, especially if you enjoy reading tales featuring strong female protagonists, as "Cari Porter" is an extremely strong woman.
Hopefully you will find this review somewhat helpful, and my apologies to the author for being a bit later than normal in my posting of it as I had thought I had. So much for my thinking.
This character and story plot reads like "the Bourne Identity, female version". I am not saying that's a bad thing especially since I enjoyed the Bourne series, but as I completed this first book of the Cari Porter saga, my expectation will be to see some originality that distinguishes it from the aforementioned Bourne series. It is a fast, intense suspense thriller that I come to expect, but I will be looking for more of a strong backstory during that course of the Porter saga that is unexpected and unpredictable. As I start the second book, that is what I am looking for. I hope Mr. Ryan delivers so that I can recommend this series and give it high marks. Stay tuned.
The writing is generally good...but it seems like the story does not progress. I kept waiting for something new to happen that I couldn't predict, but it never did.
This is a first book in a new series and opened up many options for how the series might go in future books. Cari Porter wakes up one day in a flea bag hotel with no memory of who she is, having just a piece of paper with three names on it that her mind is telling her she has to kill, but she doesn't know why or why suddenly there seem s to be people who want her dead. She finds she has the skills to fight them off, but doesn't know how. She manages to escape on a number of occasions as the action keeps up a fast pace and it is going to be interesting to see how things progress in future books, will her memory return, will she still be hunted, etc.
Cari is a one person army. She's dangerous against anyone who tries to "take her out" and she's proven it many times. And she's also forgotten every thing about her life prior to a few days ago so she is trying to remember what she does and who she is. But you know how it is with clandestine organizations, if they think you've gone rogue you are a liability and you have to go. Permanently. Let's hope Cari keeps on beating the odds.
Pooly written and even worse editing. Some paragraphs contradict contain contradictions in consequtive sentences. Author is too liberal in his license to create totally unbelievable sequences of events. For a super, uber assassin, she does some very stupid things a rational person would do, much less a covert agent. No mas, for this series.
All she has is a paper with 3 names on it. She is trying to make out how or what to do next. She is running for her life. She feels that the 3 name are bad people that she is needs to kill.
