Semi-retired cryptid hunter Miguel Walla, his wife, Maria and their 9-year-old daughter, Sophia travel to New Mexico to visit Sophia’s grandmother, Camilla, a recluse who lives out in the desert. Raised in the traditions of her ancestral past in “The Land of Enchantment,” Camilla is a shaman and true believer that legendary creatures thought to roam the remote southwestern region do exist—especially as she has one of her own.
Meantime, Sheriff Ben Lobo and his deputy Roxy Nez investigate a rash of brutal killings that appear to be the work of a deadly apex predator.
As Sophia learns of her great-great grandmother’s struggles surviving in the fiendish badlands through a story told by Camilla, the sheriff and his deputy will close in on the dangerous monster lurking in the foreboding territory of CRYPTID FRONTIER.
I love this series! Full of cryptids and action the author definitely has a great imagination and makes the stories exciting yet believable! Make sure you read all the books
This was one of those books I had a hard time deciding whether I wanted to buy it or not. I finally decided to give it a try and it was well worth it. I'll probably even read the other 6 books in the series. The cryptic's in this one are Chucabacars and skin walkers that looked like werewolves. Grandma Camilla's story of the Naguals (skinwalkers) in the old west was great too. 5 Stars all the way.
This was my favorite of this great cryptid series! I especially liked the story within the story about Lizzy and her journey. Lots of action, thrills and wild, horrifying creatures.
Out of all the books in the series, this one was ok. I liked the middle part of the book where he told about the history of Miguel's family in the old west. The native American shapeshifters were an interesting twist. The end of the book didn't hold much interest for me and it was just all right.
I am truly afraid. Afraid that now that I'm finished with book 7, there won't be a book 8. I am having such a good time with this series, I just can't tell you.
