The Gods' Games #4

The Mirror Prophecies Book 2: Volume 2

Rate this book
Finally, after having to endure the mental and emotional stress caused by their captive Serpent Knights, Ben, Teal, and Malagant have found silence. However, that silence will be short-lived, because they may be done with the Amasuvira Mountains, but the mountains aren’t quite done with them. Four bloodmages have fixed their sights on the pendant carriers, and what they intend on taking from them could have the three imprisoned for half a decade.

And back in Lelan Castle, Eliander’s will is crumbling fast under the manipulative and cruel hand of his uncle. With Migheer now arrested and awaiting trial, Kordalis’s bid for the crown will have him sinking to a new low, for the Warden of the Lelan Islands has a nefarious plan that could permanently break the new king.

But as one royal falls, another is finding his feet. Chesirae continues to gain confidence under the watchful gaze of Keleon, and every day the mismatched pair grow closer as they attempt to find the origins of the strange relic… the mirror that Keleon is sure will stop the Gods’ Games once and for all.

OMG what an amazing story! I love it! I found out about the author through Fallocaust series (which is brilliant!). Never would I have believed that another series could be so good as well.... but it is! The story is very suspensful and what I love the most about Quil's writing is that he makes me feel so much... whether it is compassion or disgust, fear, nervousness, injustice, depression, fondness, love... I feel a lot while reading Quil's books. He makes very real and complex characters. I cannot wait to read more!

"It'll all be over soon..." ...So the first line at the back says, but 3/4 in I already knew that wasn't going to be true for there was no way the story could be wrapped up in the few hundred pages that remained. And lo and behold, this book to endid with a cliffhanger and so many promises for the book(s) to come. Which is a blessing and a curse for though I am not near done with these characters and story yet, the next book will be a long wait since it hasn't been published yet.

Gods, I cannot wait to continue reading this story! By now it has become one of my favourites ever! Don't leave us waiting too long Quil, for I bet I'll be tearing through the Fallocaust books with just as much fervour! If they are as good as the God's Games that is. Can't believe how much these books have gotten me addicted to reading again. I might as well live between the pages for there is hardly anything else to focus on anymore, all the possibilities of what might happen next have truly kidnapped my mind. Or, at least for now. Guess the Fallocaust will be stealing my mind from the Gods Games next.

So darned good!

Quil Carter has written another masterpiece. This is a tale of love, loss, obsession, heroics, sacrifice, and honor. There are monsters and spells, and evil witches and a scene in a brothel that will leave you breathless with arousal.
If you love a fantastic tale of good vs evil , and those that tow the line between the two, this story is for you. Action and adventure, prophecies to fulfill, sea monsters, princes and kings all come together to save Elron. God's and monsters must be defeated, and the fate of the realm rests on three simple men who defy the odds to succeed.

5++++ Stars!

That was... intense!! I really don't have words to describe how good this series is. It is an understatement to say that Quil Carter is a genius or storytelling, character creation, and worldbuilding. The Gods' Games has surpassed anything I've read in a long long time, but any words I try to find just seem too flat and bland to describe the masterpiece I read just now.

Now I shall go suffer the worst book withdrawal ever knowing that Quil must write at least two more Fallocaust books before I'm able to return to my beloved elves of Elron!
