Luna, who has some undescribable psychic ability witnesses a man? killing a woman-creature she will find out later that was a changling. Hermod, the "killer" is really hunting those creatures who can change from a Praying Mantis monster into just about anything they want to disguise themselves. Hermod enlists Luna to help him seek out the changlings because a group of them stormed his village 1100 years ago, killing his whole family. Hermod is a tall, hunky viking-like vampire as Luna will learn. Luna can sense these creatures and is kinda hot for the handsome viking she's agreed to help. The two have a mutual interest in each other but alas, for this reader they sure take their time acting on it! Luna had a trauma happen to her and only goes out at night, Hermod is a vampire and can only go out at night, they were made for each other. I must say that once they finally have sex, it's great! Luna seems to be made for Hermod and she's what he calls a sweetblood and Hermod is sexy and more than willing to take Luna to new heights of ecstasy. There is a lot of excitement on the hunt for the changlings and when they get to take a break at Club Toxic, some elements of bdsm come to play. I enjoyed the story of these two getting together and doing what each is good at. Luna learned a lot more about vampires as Hermod corrected her about the rumors concerning vampires. The Changlings were scary and strong adversaries and Luna helped in a few surprising ways too. One of the more unique in the Midnight Doms series that will keep your interest from cover to the end.

*First time reading author

Her Vampire Assassin is unlike any of the other stories in the series. They are all standalone that is the first thing I want to say. But Erin took this one to a different level. Erin brought other creatures into the story and didn't just want vampires and BDSM in the storyline.

Luna and Hermond are not your normal "vamp" and damsel in distress. These two argue and complain about each other throughout this story. Neither really want anything to do with each other but are stuck. Hermond has been around for a very long time and alone just as long. He has little to do with humans and is okay with that.

Luna is a night owl and wants nothing to do with the daytime. These two really are meant to be together but fight it throughout the story. I enjoyed how Erin brought a different twist to this story but kept the theme to the Midnight Dom Series.

After an attack that left her in the hospital for a few weeks, Luna doesn't like to go out during the day, she feels safer at night. But that's not the only thing that changed about her after the attack, she can now sense when she's approaching a dangerous situation. So when she comes upon Hermod killing a changeling, she's not sure what she just saw but her first instinct is to run.

Hermod has been a vampire for more than an millennium and in that time he's trained to kill the monsters that destroyed his village when he was still a human. He now hunts the changelings that prey on humans. He's not sure what to do when a human catches him killing a changeling and he can't thrall her to forget what she saw.

Hermod's first thought is maybe to just kill Luna since he can't wipe her memory of what happened but he doesn't and that's where this story gets really good.

Hermod is new in town so of course he's gone to Lucius the vampire king and asked if he can stay temporarily. So He brings Luna back to Club Toxic with him but he doesn't make use of the BDSM dungeon and hasn't been with the willing women that come there. He gets his blood from the bar. He seemed very lonely because he's so focused on hunting the changelings. But no one there knows what he's been doing or even knew that changelings exist. I found this a little far fetched since reading so many books in this series I know that Lucius and Selene would be more than unhappy to have a vampire hunting monsters that they don't even know about in their city. I would have liked to see a little more interaction with Lucius.

Hermod is sweet, caring and very protective. At first he was all gruff and didn't know what to make of Luna since she talked back and was sarcastic to him and he wasn't used to anyone acting like that towards him. But the more time they spend together, the more he sees how strong and resilient she is and he likes that about her. He wants her to stay with him and help him find the changelings since she seems to be able to find them with her psychic gift but she isn't sure she's up for that.

I loved seeing Slash again, he's the resident tech nerd that has shown up in a couple of books and I hope he gets his own book at some point. He's a fun character. While Hermod isn't as dominant as some of the other Doms in this series he is still a Dom and likes to use a little bondage during their sexy times. But he's one of the sweetest guys this series has produced and I really liked him.

This is the first book I've read by Erin St. Charles and have to admit, in my opinion, she's made an outstanding contribution to the "Midnight Doms" series! She introduces Hermod, an 1100-year-old vampire on a mission to kill changelings and destroy their nests. What are changelings, you ask? They are creepy beings, hatched from eggs, look like praying mantis with a long powerful tail that hunts humans and feed on their fear before killing them. ~ shiver ~ Luna has gone through a life-altering experience and has developed a fear of going outside in the daytime so she makes a habit of working from home and jogging only at night. This is how they wind up coming into contact with each other. There's action, suspense, a bit of an emotional turmoil along with slow-building chemistry. I enjoyed their personalities as they bantered back and forth and it often brought a chuckle.

This was a new author to me in a series that I know I love and enjoy. I really liked this book and am happy to have discovered this author. I thought the writing was well done and the story interesting and entertaining. I have to say that I admire the author for taking a chance and forging her own path in this world. The direction she takes the reader in was quite clever and fresh. I found the characters very appealing and adored them as a couple. Both of them had their strengths, some baggage and some big differences but when you brought them together they fit together beautifully. The chemistry sizzles, sparks fly and the quips flow as Luna and Hermod's relationship evolves. Danger, suspense, drama, emotion, tension, humor and steam are combined into a potent mixture that pulls you in and keeps you feeling right on the edge until the last page is read. I am posting an independent, impartial review.

This is another addition to the Midnight Doms series. Hermod is an ancient vampire who hunts changelings. They destroyed his village back in what is now Denmark. Luna lives the life of a recluse since she was mugged. She only goes out at night. On one of her nightly jogs, she sees Hermod kill a changeling. He cannot let her get away.

I’m a big fan of this series and like most of the books, but this one just didn’t do it for me. While I liked that Luna didn’t freak out during all the unusual things that happened to her, she sure seemed a bit too blasé about it at the same time. In addition, I just didn’t feel the same level of heat and attraction between the two main characters in this book that I have in others.

If you like this genre, there are better books in this series. I wouldn’t waste your time with this one.

So Darn Good!!!!

An 1100-year-old vampire, Hermod, who hunts changlings. A young DNA Researcher, Luna. Luna has some psychic ability. She was attacked and still struggles to be around people – so jogs at night, and can sense danger.

On one of her jogs she witnesses Hermod putting down one of the praying-mantis-like creatures. Due to her psychic ability, he cannot wipe her mind. What to do?

This is so much fun, as Hermod is thrown off his game, and our agoraphobic Luna isn’t really bothered by Hermod. (As she doesn’t sense danger from him). There is danger, but the relationship building is delightful, sexy and a totally awesome read.

Meh...

This book could have been so much better than it was if it weren't for the major continuity issues (the H eyes go from blue to true green to pale blue. The h is first stabbed in broad daylight then it's she has her head repeatedly slammed into the sidewalk at dusk and even the name of her attacker changes) along with the unnecessary repeating of things two and three times over. Overall just meh.

What happens when a vampire assassin and a woman who has psychic gifts meet? Hermod and Luna are about to find out! This story was a bit different from others as Changelings are introduced. They're dangerous and Hermod has been hunting them. With Luna's help, they keep hunting but will they find the ones who killed his family years ago? Even though this had a different "vibe" to it, it still fits in perfectly with this series. Loved how they connected with each other and of course, going to Club Toxic is always a treat!

inaccuracies

Well the man who attacked her in the beginning I don’t remember his name but it was Dan something I think. However, in the end of the book it was John Wayne bluyt. So ummm? Huh? I know i would have remembered that name at least the John Wayne part.. so why did the name change from the beginning to the end.. hmmm? Often this is an accidental and hallmark of plagerism. Forgetting to change the name of the original character by the original author. And considering the name attached to the series T.B. Whom I posted a idea of my book I was writing. On a website contest looking for new authors and then 2 months after my book was rejected.. and she was one of the regulars. But somehow she wrote a new book which was identical to one of my characters a very special specific character.. I’m honestly not surprised! So, now, regularly read her books looking for more proof she commits plagerism
Name changing like this is a hallmark of plagerism. It’s when they forget to alter the original name of the character by the original author

This is my first book by author ERIN ST. CHARLES . . .It will NOT be my last... Thank you Renee Rose for the recommendation. The author does a beautiful job of immediately drawing you into the story. I LOVE A GOOD VAMP STORY...

LUNA happens upon a scene .. A vamp, HERMOD, killing a female (murderous creature) LUNA records it and then runs.. HERMOD, the 1100yr old vamp gives chase. No big deal, HERMOD will 'enthrall' her... He tells her to forget EVERYTHING... She says, "NO!!". . . . No one tells an 1100yr old vampire NO. Thus the adventure and story of these two begins.. There's LOTS of drama, humor, suspense, action, and romance . . . . the steam was HOT!!!

I TOTALLY recommend this book. LUNA both annoyed and fascinated HERMOD with all her questions and back talk. HERMOD so wanted to be in control...LOLOL!!

This was a GOOD SOLID BOOK.... This would make a GREAT SERIES (hint hint) pretty please ;-)

Her Vampire Assassin

Luna is out for a jog at night. Luna is special because she has this sense that she can't explain. She feels danger whether it's her or someone else. She senses danger and witnesses something that can't be real. Hermod is a hunter. He hunts changlings. He has been doing this for centuries. He sees Luna then witness him killing the changling. He tries to make her forget she saw what she did but it doesn't work. So he takes her to find out why it doesn't work on her. Luna gets mixed up in things she knew nothing about. Luna isn't without some baggage from her past. Hermod is admiring Luna for her strength and beauty. Can she be of help in finding them? What will become of their attraction? Very good read.

This story is different from the rest as it introduces the "Changelings" as the bad guys with a Vampire hunter. Hermod is a tall, blonde Danish hunk who meets a beautiful dark skinned psychic who can sense the danger of the Changeling and talks her into helping him hunt them. While of coarse being constantly annoyed with her brash, bratty mouth and attitude despite having been assaulted and was afraid to go outside during the day. I enjoyed this story even though was a bit miffed at one of them escaping! I hope there will be more stories to come.

Another Fantastic Midnight Dom story. I didn’t want this one to stop so soon. Definitely a different type of bad guy on this one! Like any good Midnight Dom book, Club Toxic is alive and Jumping! All the while the King of the Tucson Vampires Lucias rules from his throne.
Luna Reed is a woman who has a psychic gift.
Hermod is the Vampire who hunts down Strange creatures. Together, they can find them quicker. Hermod doesn’t expect for her to get under his 1100 skin. I could have kept reading about these two for another book! Note to the Author: Can we get a Part 2? Loved this!!

Sexy, romantic and I nearly gave it a five.

The reason I haven’t given this five stars is because of her!!! She comes across as a little girl rather than a thirty year old! It’s so hard trying to imagine them in a relationship at the beginning as she’s so annoying. Also, we get this long description of him looking like a young Dolph Lundgren but absolutely no description of her. So when he says about her dark hand against his pale skin I actually thought whose hand is that.
Really good storyline though. A few questions that aren’t answered though.

Wow, that was unpleasant. The sex was weird, uncomfortable, not sexy and interjected at the worst possible moments. The storyline would focus on a problem - a kidnapping, a random changeling, her attacker - and then just drop the problem before resolution. There was zero sexual chemistry between the mains and the h was really unlikable. I keep saying that authors who write female characters like this, hate women and I stand by that statement. I will not be reading this author again or anything else in this series.

This book was cute! Hermod was definitely my kind of vampire: stoic and witty. And I loved that Luna was a strong woman who stood up for herself. Their interactions were consistently entertaining, and I liked their cute bickering back and forth lol. For those wondering, the BDSM was very light.

For how much I liked the story, the errors were frustrating and annoying to have to skip over. There were multiple inconsistencies, but the main issue was that some details of the story (including conversations) were repeated multiple times, verbatim, throughout the book.

This book carries a couple of firsts for me...
1: being that this is the first time I’ve read a book by this author and
2: bringing in other paranormal entities like the evil changelings a life form that is part praying mantis part gargoyle..
I quite enjoyed the fast paced twists that this book had as well as the chemistry between Hermod and Luna as she brats him out of his broodiness and as they together find and kill the changelings that threaten humankind...

Absolutely Fan-Freaking-Tastic 😁

Once again one of my favorite authors writes a story in one of my favorite series 😃. Vampire Doms has got to be MY favourite series and I eagerly await each addition with intense longing 🤗. Vampire Alphas, bad-ass heroines, intense excitement, insane bad-guys and a awesome & sexy storyline, needless to say, can it get any better 🤔 ? Thanks so much Erin, I LOVE all your stories and I really appreciate your contribution to this series 🤓👍.

Ok story but...

It was like the author went back and added scenes to make the story longer but the details didn’t match the original story. Details kept changing, like when she was attacked and how. The guy who attacked her. The color of the main character’s eyes from blue to green then back to blue. The reason she didn’t like daylight. The conversations kept repeating as well, it was distracting.

Danger and the psychic connection

I enjoyed how Luna and Hermod had a psychic connection. There was lots of suspense in this one as Hermod helps Luna overcome some trauma. There are some repeated phrases and scenarios that seems like the author was trying them out at different points in the story and forgot to take out the duplicates but other than that its fairly well written. I love this series and Midnight Doms world, this is a worthy inclusion.

Sorry, not one of the better ones from the midnight Dom’s books

Hermod is an old lone vampire who is chasing Changelings to kill them, as they destroyed his village when he was younger.

Luna lives life as a recluse after she was mugged in broad daylight and so only goes out running at night. She has a gift and can sense when there is danger.

Whilst Luna is on her runs, if she senses someone is in danger, she rings the police and takes a photo. One particular night, she senses danger and goes down a dark alley !! and she stumbles upon Hermod, whilst he was killing a Changeling.

So the story begins, but to be honest it was a bit boring and I skipped a large portion of it. If it had been the first book I’d read I may not have bothered with the others. If it is your first book, try another one, you won’t be disappointed.

This book is listed as part of the Midnight Doms series. I don't think it belongs there. The only connection that I could find was the occasional mention of Club Toxic. The author also got some of the vampire lore from the previous books wrong from my perspective. The only reason I gave this three stars was because I liked the premise of a vampire killing changelings. They were a very creepy villain.

Very fun read

A woman with psychic gifts and a vampire assassin meet while he was killing a changling and she was jogging. They find out that somehow they are connected. The story was great and the interchanges between them are snarky, funny and sexy. I had a great time reading this and am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series. Great job.

Did not like this book, the characters or names of the characters and really disliked author introducing changeling creatures. Also believe this author missed an opportunity to involve Lucius and the other vampires since changelings are a threat to their food source. Luna did not come across as a strong woman - more of a spoiled child with impulse issues.

Good romance but....

.....there are too many inconsistencies in the story. The author has done a great job with the love story between Hermod and Luna. However, she needs to do a better job with the details related to the heroine's stressful event. Where's the editor? Beta readers?

Wow! Amazing!!

I have read all of the “Midnight Doms” book. Each one is a stand alone and tells its own riveting story and “Her Vampire Assassin “ is no exception. It is not what you expect, filled with suspense, intriguing, beautiful romance and constant twists and turns! I LOVE the characters, the ending was beautiful! Thank you Erin St. Charles!

It was OK.

Lots of great background information but very little follow through. Teasers abound and they would have rounded out and filled out story but instead left more questions. I liked the concept, especially with a paychic connection, buggy monsters and another secret organization.
