Crossing Lines

Rate this book
Mila Lyne, a published author and introvert by heart, always took the safe route. Having gone through a series of traumatic events, she now tries to stay out of the public eye to avoid any attention brought to her or her family… But then fate strikes, and she literally stumbles into Hayden's arms.

Hayden Cross, star quarterback and L.A.'s most eligible bachelor, has always followed his dreams. His extraordinary lifestyle is the complete opposite of what Mila needs, but Hayden wouldn't be Hayden if he didn't chase what he wants. And right now, it's the mysterious brunette who accidentally grabbed his phone.

With only the power of words on a display, the unlikely pair develops a connection that is stronger than it should be; One that has an unforeseeable impact on both Hayden's and Mila's life. The question is: Will life and secrets get in the way, or are they strong enough to withstand the obstacles they're about to face?

A story about love, life, and an important realization: Don't judge a book by its cover.

[Mature 18+] This story contains mature scenes and depictive mentions of social anxiety and is thus qualified as suitable for readers above the age of eighteen.

"A unique take on "opposites attract“. Crossing Lines is a complex and well-crafted romance; a perfect blend of raunch and emotional intensity with an important social message at the heart of it. The author does a spectacular job illustrating the imperfections of a strikingly relatable protagonist and the realism of constant spotlight, with love and devotion centering it. A must-read!"- Aviana M.

A special needs teacher with a knack for romance. My stories are a portrait of my own mindset, and I hope to reach those who feel excluded or misunderstood.

I'm a sucker for happy endings and sappy romances, but love to work them with an unexpected twist!

I really love Mila, the female lead character, shy, introvert i’d say, but strong. Oh! And also who can beats the charisma of Hayden? He is a perfect gentleman. (Definitely want him in real life 🥰) Jane Rain first ever novel have great story, I can feel the charms when I read it. Its conflicts too, are makes sense, not excessive. The way Jane Rain cultivates the words will drive you crazy for more chapters. From now on, Jane Rain will be one of my favorite authors ❤️.

Okay so. I’ve read this before (like two years ago) and I remember liking this! Enough to put it on my reread TBR anyway, but I have now reread it and all I can say is wtf was that 😂. Insta lovey, repetitive, and so boring I started skipping through the spicy scenes. Like don’t get me wrong, they were fairly sweet and I liked the communication but good god spice it up! And not sexually cuz they just fucked the same way like 15 times in this book.

I started this book two days before valentines day, and I can tell you It was the best decision because it was the best book date ever. I fell in love with their love, relationship, trust, and undeniable attraction. It is an easy story to read, you won't get bored or frustrated at any point, more likely you are not gonna be able to put it down. Overall, this book delivered more than I thought I was gonna get.

To say this book is well written would be an accurate description. Jane C. Rain has obviously poured her blood, sweat, and tears into this novel. Touching on injustice, prejudices, as well as stero-typing and all these issues are addressed in one way or another throughout the book. So there maybe trigger warnings for some people. Having said that, I do love this novel. I give it a 5 out of 5 stars. The chemistry is palipable and the story is well told. There are moments that will make you cry and some that may break your heart. But there are also plenty of hot and heavy scenes that will put this at a Manzano Pepper. That is not as hot as a Cayenne Pepper but hotter than a Jalepeno or Serrano pepper.

The story is one that touches on a lot of hard subjects, for that reason and what I had going on in my life at the time I had to step away for the book for a few weeks until I was in a better headspace to read it. I will say that once I picked it back up I couldn't put it down. There is mystrery, intrigue, romance, drama and life. Not everyone has a perfect life and some people have severe injustices done to them or someone they know. This book touches on that fact, and how life isn't always a bag of cookies for those with money.

I will recommend if you do enjoy Reese's Peanut Butter Cups that you have some handy when reading this book, because the main female lead in the book has quite the addiction to the chocolatity peanut buttery goodness that is them. On a side note if you haven't ever eatten them frozen, I HIGHLY recommend it! I would also recommend this book to people who prefer a romance that has outside pressures and not just the characters messing up their own realtionship.

I hope this has helped you find your next Tantalizing Tome.

I'm at a loss for words with this man. The way he expresses himself, how he handles himself and others, especially me, is breathtaking and so unbelievably refreshing. Not forgetting for the fc, She's…she's a warrior, really!! she is something 😏 the duality really make my jaw drop

"I will not be treated like a puppet. I will not be left out of equations that involve me. I will be treated as an equal. Because just like you, I don't share what's mine." -Mila

And ergh, Meredith such a bitch 😒 This will be a good read if the author didn't drag the writing n the story. I like author's writing style but sometimes i just feel it too much detail. To much hypothesis. And i like the way author always end each chapter w happy ending. Since this is debut novel for the author. I'll say im impress and definitely gonna check on their new upcoming work. All the character are lovable 😍

Thoroughly enjoyed everything about this book!

Mila was cute and bold and I lived her loyalty and love she showed the people close to her. While her actions could make some people frustrated I understood that her actions were dominated by her anxiety. It reminded me so much of my cousin so I really felt her.

Hayden... the standard that this man was written was AMAZING. Funny, kind, sweet, dorky, sappy, loyal, sexy.

Their relationship was also the best for communication. When things could have been written to add drama into ''miscommunication'' they weren't and it was soooo much better. The drama in this book was realistic enough without the need to through in arguments that centred around each mc thinking badly about the other.

Totally worth the read and once you're done with that go straight to Whispered Desires becuase I laughed so much. Kilian's POV's are hilarious.

4.5 stars!

I’m smiling so much writing this right now. This book was so wholesome and cute and I enjoyed every second of reading this. Hayden and Mila easily just became one of my new favorite couples. They’re so strong and so different but yet together they just make perfect sense. I’m so obsessed with how much they cared for one another and how cute they are together. Ugh I just love them so much

This wasn't a bad book, it was just meh for me. It's a wattpad story so if you're looking for that type of plot its pretty good. It's your typical shy girl and popular/football player book. I loved Mila, and it was really nice to read about a character that suffers from anxiety b/c what she was going through at times was so relatable for me. All in all, this book was good quick read, but if you're looking to read about an epic romance this is not that book.

3.5, it’s a wattpad classic, but I swear to god these two are the cheesiest mfs i’ve ever read, past and now. talking about some “I love you baby” every three seconds, and some “make love to me” like imma need you to pick yourself up. they got together like 4 chapters in, and it’s 56 chapters of the book. I think this is the only book i’ve actually liked the pregnant trope (it was at the end). it’s a 3.5 so it’s goes to the three stars.

3.5
-lucky and cash
-unexpected pregnancy trope
-football player and author
-up and down minor plots
-There's no major plot, hmm (though it's a very wattpad kind of book, which is probably because it is)
-the secondhand embarrassment I felt aaa (planned to drop it at first because of some scenes)
-the sexting part (I literally read so fast because of the awkwardness I felt)
-allows you to comprehend how people who suffer from anxiety behave
-I admired how they always communicated and discussed things with one another.
-the level of trust = 💯
-cheesiness overload
-loved Jasmine and Sam sm 💗
-the title 👀
-Why is Hayden so perfect, though? Anyone could wish for such a husband.

4/5 romance/comfort book
I enjoyed every single page, it just made me feel so fluffy and happy.
Will definitely read again
At some points the story started feeling too cliche, or unrealistic, but that is the point of this book. It allows you to dream about these things. And Hayden is just anyone's dream boyfriend. He definitely made me swoon every single page.
Best part is the constant double POV!!! My fave
100% recommend

I love this beautiful (VERY STEAMY) love story. I can relate so much to Mila’s introverted life so much and Hayden is definitely the guy every woman wants! Jane did an amazing job at developing these characters and you can’t help but root for them throughout everything they come up against. Highly recommend this read!

It's a super good and fast read with an instant gratification type of story. However there really isn't too much story or world development. The characters do change but not super drastically. However if you need a fastpast story that you can click your brain off while reading, then this book is amazing for just that.
It's more of a 3.5/5 stars than a 4.

Is a beautiful story where love, friendship respect and belonging are the very true protagonists. the main characters are adorable, the plot is very intricate and thrilling, author has her own way with words, she succeed in make you feel every heart beat, kiss and laugh.
It's a very well written book, fluent and easy to read, is nor only a romantic dream is also a funny and intriguing story.

Hayden was probably the sweetest guy ever and Mila was just pissing me off. I understand trust issues but you always let the other person explain how they feel. She kept allowing other situations depict on the view of Hayden and her father even said that to her. But I couldn’t fully finish or process the whole thing and the connection since it was sped up from the beginning.

I love the characters and how much they communicate!! Helped to avoid the miscommunication trope. However, I felt like there were too many conflicts! I like when each MC faces their own battle and struggle, but not over and over. I felt like I was reading some of the same pages over and over again. But overall a great story!

lost interest at 50% but dnf at 61%

the writing wasn’t it for me. the main characters were 27 and 30 it felt like they’re still early in college..safe to say i get a lot of secondhand embarrassment😵‍💫 and when mila out of sudden did 180 degrees change of character was really off for me. but mila and hayden were actually really cute though

2.5/5 ⭐️

This book was about 100 pages too long and needed a better editor. The epilogue was also unnecessary since the last 50 pages practically were one. From the reviews I found out that this was a wattpad book… I guess that explains it.

It started off strong and I really enjoyed it but eventually it was just unrealistic. Way too dramatic, childish even.

There chemistry between Hayden and Mila felt forced. I didn’t feel connected or close to the principal characters. Also there are a few dialogues that kept repeating through the book so it kinda lost its meaning. I liked the fifty two chapter because is the one that gave a meaning to the name of the book was good and the epilogue was cute but that was it.

I love the relationship they have and how much trust they have in each-other. I also love how they handle their small problems throughout the relationship and how they go over and move past them. This book has become one of my favourites because you can see their growth together and as individual people.

I really enjoyed this book. It shows some of the reality of what it is to date a celebrity. I'm not a big fan of middle pregnancy books, the reason for 4 stars, but I really liked this one. I read it on wattpad.
