Bennett and Chantal’s ending was everything I needed. This is one of my favorite series by Xavier, and I honestly can’t wait for more dark reads from her.
In this conclusion Beni must protect his jungle and restore balance and order. His love for Chantal will make you swoon, and wish you had a man just like him. He will move mountains for his woman. Don’t ever talk about his girl disrespectfully cause you might get put into a body bag. My girl Chantal goes through some emotional stuff, and needs to work her way through it. She has to find that inner Queen, so her and Beni can rule side by side. She wants to protect her family at all costs.
This book gave me all the feels and more! And now I need Mikos book so bad! My boy has no idea what he got himself into!!!!

5 Dangerous, Dark, Twisted, Heart-Wrenching Stars!!!
I was given this book in turn for an honest review.
Wow, Xavier Neal put my emotions through the wringer with Dark Reign, book #2 in The Bennett Series. The dark element to this series truly comes to life in this second book. At times Xavier had me squirming in my seat, and not the nice kind of squirming. Although I was right there with them, feeling punishment was deserved, reading the details certainly made me wince; Xavier Neal truly knows how to pack a punch and bring a scene to life!
My love for Benico, Chantal and Miko grew even more with the second book. The dedication they have to each other, to the roles they play within their circle, their family, truly reveals itself. Nothing and no one will stand in their way. You can see the obvious developments of the characters in this second book; I had felt Chantal was a strong person, this second book proved just how resilient and powerful she was. It was not just Benico you need to watch out for, it is Chantal as well.
We also get to see the true dedication Miko has for his family, for those he loves. He did not hesitate to act and make decisions that would change not only his life, but his families forever. That is how committed he was to his family and how much he loved them.
Xavier Neal did not disappoint with the concluding book to Benico and Chantal’s story. I am sad to see their story is over, however, I look forward to getting to read Miko’s story and I will happily sit and read this duet again and again.
If you love Mafia Romances with a dark, twisted side, you will utterly enjoy The Bennett Duet by Xavier Neal.

The book picks up a little after where it left off in Dark Ruler. I am so glad to be back in this world of Benicio and Chantel!
Dark Reign was captivating in wondering what will happen next. The twists, turns, and questions will have you on the edge of your seat while reading. It is nice to see the small changes from Benicio's completely controlling mannerisms to only slightly controlling and being a partner with Chantel. Chantel definitely has to deal with a ton of hard struggles from what she has had happened to her, however, she is just a strong, if not stronger, than she was in the first book. The steaminess is at an all time high. I didn't think these two could be any more hot in the bedroom than they were in the first book, but they are 100%! This book is dark, dangerous, and demanding. It can capture your attention in an instance. I definitely recommend this for all!
I really love getting to read this world. I will miss these characters, but Ill be doing some rereading when I want to come back to these two!

Amazing conclusion
What can I say about this book? It truly has everything you can want in a book. There's drama, suspense, intrigue, a little violence, it is FULL of surprises, and of course there are love scenes. I honestly don't know how I was expecting this story to end but I can say that I am so glad that it ended this way. Chantal and Benicio were made for each other. Even though they had a rough patch in the beginning they got through it the best way they knew how. And of course Miko, who is definitely a favorite character, made sure to help keep it light to keep Benicio from falling to far into darkness. Love, love this book!

This book will break you in every way possible. Beni and Chantel finds a balance in life. Miko gives himself as the ultimate sacrifice to protect family and make sure their happiness is restored. This is a book that will want more and never put down.

Benicio and Chantal captured attention from the very first chapter of Dark Ruler (The Bennett Duet #1) and long before I hit the cliffhanger at the end of that book they stole my heart and became an obsession. This is the desperately needed and fiercely anticipated conclusion to their story and it was worth every second of wait time, every tear I shed while reading it (both happy and sad ones!) and every bit anxiety and stress that my poor heart and blood pressure had to endure along the way. It is almost impossible to do this read/duet justice with the words I have at my disposal because I'm no writer and I certainly do not want risk spoilers, so I'm going to try to keep things simple and broad.
To start, you MUST read Dark Ruler first, if you don't you are going to get dropped in the middle of this couple's epic tale and not understand everything that is going on. Next, keep in mind that this is a DARK romance. As such there is content in here that will be triggers for some and big turn offs for others. Regardless of how you fall on this spectrum, know that often things get intense, twisted, violent and downright disturbing. So my best advise here is if you are in doubt, this is probably not the right choice for you. Lastly, try to be prepared emotionally because Chantal and Beni take you on an incredible journey that is both an agony and an ecstasy of emotions. The good, the bad and the ugly; you will feel them all in exquisite detail. From chuckling like mad over the never ending witty quips and snark, to the sizzle, sparks, steam and sweetness that have you swooning, to the drama, tension and suspense that have you perched on the razor's edge and feverishly reading for answers, to the tragedy, terror and heartbreak that quite simply leaves you feeling gutted, it is an undeniable and epic storm of feels for the reader. This is my unsolicited, unbiased review.

I am blown away. The first book was a different voice but a very poignant and real depth that has shown snippets in the List, Compassion and unleashed. This is amazing. Its taking power beck that was not freely given. It's growing in the truth and depth of Lovett is still growing and learning. Beni and Mia Bella fit. There is no doubt in that. Even as they navigate this derailment of what control and fighting back is, the love is pure and connected so concretely that anyone looking to destroy it, will meet a fate worse than death. They will never know that love is strong and powerful. It connects pieces of the soul that are stronger together than apart.
Beni and Mia Bella are so beautiful in what some might say is brokenness. I think its because they embrace their love for one another in its most honest way possible, that they will fight for their truth not in spite of outside forces, but because it is right and true. The fight back is the only true option. Failure means Cobb and the men and women like him win and that can't happen.
Gia, momma, knows her truth and guides Chantel back to hers. It's the getting back up that strengthens one. A reclaiming of sorts. Do not ever underestimate a queen even when she is momentarily down. For its not vengeance that will rule the day, but true strength and fortitude that will alway be there to rat out the weak.
Xavier Neal has brought the truth of darkness to light in such a way that appreciation for darkness within can intensify love the whole world can see. This is not a tale for the squeamish. The mind and heart have to be open to see beyond the ugliness to grasp the depth of family, friendship and love. Not every love journey is a rose without thorns. Sometime it's the wounds, visible and soul deep, that is the purest truth.

Dark Reign by Xavier Neal is an intense, dark yet more emotional conclusion to the duet.
The story was raw, especially given what happened at the end of the first book. It is sensitive and builds up to be more emotional but fierce. It is also incredibly intense, as is Mr Bennett and his crew. It is also very famiglia oriented, and that made my heart melt.
Let's talk about Chantal. Such a brave, incredible woman who is every factor perfect for Benicio. She is strong, she is fierce, and she is such a fighter. Not only does she keep her amore in line, but she fights for herself. I also love her relationship with Miko. It's so adorable!
Speaking of Miko. Still mine. Still very much mine, so back off! I need his story next. I'm just itching for it!
Benicio is swoon-worthy. He's still all dominant alpha in the bedroom and at the office, but he is so much sweeter and loving to Chantal. I love Benicio a lot more in this book than the first. I've warmed up to him, and he is so hot. WOW!
Dark Reign is also Dark AF. It's a lot more intense and can get quite graphic. And I loved it! The darkness really brings out something in Benicio, especially for his Bella, and it is wonderful.
The banter between the characters was also great. It brought a certain lightness to the book when it got too intense. I have to say, that was mostly down to my boy. I do love a guy with a wicked sense of humour!
Overall, this duet was incredible. Dark, intense, emotional, raw, passionate and very, very steamy. Given that Dark Ruler was my first ever book by this author, I am now a fan, and cannot wait to check out more of her books. But I get to keep Miko, that's a deal-breaker.

My heartbeat was pounding as if I was doing a workout while I was reading this .
Being in Benicio's dark world has put Chantal in danger . He will rip the world apart to find her , his Queen, and who has taken her . He will willing let out the beast inside of him and rip them apart .
His Queen is not a wilting violet , she has a roar of her own , and she is not afraid to do what needs to be done with her own hands .

Picking up pretty much where DARK RULER left off, Beni is desperately searching for Chantal and whomever took her. All that matters is getting her back and seeking the retribution he so rightfully deserves. Because hell hath no fury like a man whose woman has been taken from him. That’s the saying, right?
What I want to say and what I can say, are warring against one another in this review. I will say there is heartache and turmoil that splinters the once strong bond between Beni and Chantal in the first half of the story. The journey for Chantal to find herself once again won’t be easy and Beni will find stepping back, although painful and against everything he has ever known, may be what’s needed for her to heal. This part of the story was heartbreaking to read but written by Neal so perfectly I would have hated it had it been an easy course.
Brilliantly and beautifully written, Neal inked out an utterly heart wrenching story that owned my every free moment and took up direct residence in my heart. I hope this won’t be the last we have seen of these amazing characters I came to love in such a short manner of time. All the stars!!

Brilliantly and beautifully written, Neal inked out an utterly heart wrenching story that owned my every free moment and took up direct residence in my heart. I hope this won’t be the last we have seen of these amazing characters I came to love in such a short manner of time. All the stars!!

Xavier manages to give us serious boss moves and mafia dealings wrapped up in humour, soul mate connection type love, friendship and family bond.
Benicio Bennett is not to be played with and retribution is a dish better served and repaid in money and blood. They don’t call him the butcher for nothing.
From start to end Dark Ruler (book one) was a page turner. Dark Reign connected to and build upon the cliffhanger of book one in such a realistic and gripping way that you literally don’t want it to end.
The suspense was equally gripping as was the bond between Beni and Chantal. An emotional rollercoaster you can say. Even the ending though complete, will leave you wanting more from this story.
Warning, this book is not without the romantic steam! And steam is an understatement in Beni and Chantal’s relationship as you would have been introduced to in book one. Xavier didn’t hold back with all the steams and feels ensuring she warns her readers before they dived into this series!

Xavier Neal KICKED SOME ASS WITH THIS CONCLUSION, Y’all!!! Chantal, Benicio, and Miko weren’t the only ones showing their proverbial teeth in this read, Xavier gave us some true grit in this book, I bow to you, Girl!!!! I knew you had it in ya to be dark and twisted and running our emotions through the ringer, OH MY LORD!!!! HELL YEAH, I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!! These three characters really showed up for one another and gave us a true ending to Benicio’s and Chantal’s story. I hate that their story is over, but I CANNOT WAIT to read Miko’s story!!! Five stars IS NOT NEARLY ENOUGH!!! ONE CLICK THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW!!!

You really need to read book 1 before this as this book follows and is the conclusion of their story.i won't leave any spoilers here but thank you for giving me the ending I wanted.i fell in love with characters and didn't want the story to end but I guess all good things must end.xavier I will definitely look forward to reading more of your words

I am so in love with this book and these characters! I knew I was going to enjoy Dark Reign, Book 2 of the Bennett Duet, because I thoroughly enjoyed Dark Ruler. But really, it far exceeded my expectations for the conclusion. I’ve never known a mafia romance to have such HEART! Or hilarious banter! I expect the darkness, brutality, and hot sex... all of which is deliciously displayed. But the heart of the relationships & friendships are so powerful that you can FEEL the anguish, the love, the strength, the vengeance! At one point during the climax, I shouted, “OH SHIT!” Seriously, fanfuckingtastic!! I think it’s fair to say it’s my favorite Mafia Romance ever!
Chantal is every bit a Queen fit to rule along side her King Beni. She’s brilliant, sassy, FIERCE, and strong. The fact that she can bring her fiancée, the head of the mafia family, to his knees, says she’s a badass personified! Her dad raised her into this incredible heroine!
In this book, we see Beni in such a vulnerable state leftover from the cliffhanger of Book 1, but is no less ferocious. I fell even more in love with him because we got to see all sides of him. He’s magnificent.
But I’ve got to say, Miko, Beni’s second & cousin, is MINE!! I NEEEEED his book! Please!

I just finished reading Dark Reign, and I cannot get over everything that happened!
I could feel the anger and the pain when Benicio said "I will not stop hunting for her until she has been found and returned home. I will turn over every boulder, every stone, every pebble until the woman that is mine is back where she belongs."
My jaw dropped a few times. I may have shed a few tears (I'm a crier), and I laughed numerous times. Also, Gia seems like an amazing woman and someone you'd want in your corner.
Loved this ending to The Bennett Duet. I am hopeful that Xavier Neal has a novella in the works, as there are details about Miko's story that I would like answered.

The Dragon Den

A thrilling read and another great duet. Had a few giggles, loved the drama, felt the pain and am one for the steamy. Had a laugh at the kitchen island scene (will not spoil that for you). I was happy that the author reached out for me with this book. It is so great to see people creating so many adventurous, dangerous and magnificent worlds and stories. The Bennett Duet was fantastic.

Second book in the duet after Dark Ruler. Dark Reign picks up with Benicio searching for Chantal after the kidnapping. Benicio is LIVID and will go to the ends of the earth for her. Miko also gives his all, of course. Getting back to normal is a rough road and truly a new normal. Yet in the end the new normal is better than they could have imagined. Great ending to this duet! Do not miss either of them!

I hate that their story ended. This story lead me on a tilt-a-whirl of emotions. I felt for Benicio, Chantal, and Miko. Well not, Miko so much (lol). I enjoyed book two of The Bennett Duet and look forward to more books by Xavier Neal.

Amazing. My heart broke a few times but was put back together. Emotions were high the whole time. Chantal's strength was amazing and Beni's fierceness and over protective nature was hot. Love this book.

All I can say is Chantal is a savage and Beni is proud and happy to have her. I loved how dedicated Beni is to her and how he's willing to take his time when needed. Chantal went through a terrible ordeal, and just came back and found a way for herself that is so admirable and amazing. This book had twists, turns and some cold Justice that was amazingly appropriate! Great end to a great duo!!

Beni and Chantel's ending was everything I hoped it would be and so much more. Beni's love and devotion to Chantel really comes through in Dark Reign. Beni will burn the entire world to the ground for Chantel. Chantel in her own right is every bit the ruthless Queen that Beni needs standing by his side. She is fierce, independent, stunningly gorgeous and brings that calming, centering balance to Beni. But don't get it twisted she can be as ruthless and cut throat as she needs to be when the situation arises which makes me love her even more. Chantel is one bad ass woman and she gives as good as she gets when it comes to Beni.
We get to meet so many new characters and family members this time around and we get to see how much FAMILY means in this world.

Oh man, what an emotional journey, and I mean all of the emotions, love, stress, tension, fear, dismay, depression, anxiety, more love, desire, anger, revenge, it's all freakin in here! There were moments when Beni and Chantal both broke my heart. There were moments when I felt like they made me whole again. There were moments when I feared for each of them in different ways. There were moments where I was in awe of their strength and love. There were moments when I was enthralled by their devotion and vengeance. Chantal proves she is a Lioness in this book.
Also, let's not forget the amazing supporting cast. My love Miko who always gives you a sense of levity when things become too much. He is witty and goofy and I adore him more than words can express. Gia, is a force all of her own and I can see how Beni became the man that he is and how he loves the way he does through her. She is a testament to being a woman and being in her power.
I loved the whole journey from beginning to end, even the hard parts. Brilliantly written and felt! Well Done Xavier Neal!

This book is a rollercoaster of emotions. There's a lot of action for almost half the book; everything happens so fast but when it seems over there are actually other profound battles to win and sorrow to overcome.
Amongst all the feelings there is also space for some fun, mostly thanks to Miko, who is probably my favorite character in the Duet.
Lastly, there are some extremely interesting developments involving Miko and I'm ready to read more about that!
Bonus points: There seems to be less "Italian" which means the read is much more fluent than it was in the previous book and there are less chances of the "Italian" being wrong (though there's still more fake-Italian than I would have liked).

Fantastic conclusion to this duet!!
This was an intense and riveting story. It definitely sent me on emotional rollercoaster. It picked up right where the last one left off. I was mad, teary eyed, heartbroken and scared for most of the first half of the book. My poor Beni his Mia Bella was hurting and he was helpless, he couldn't fix her. Her saving came from a surprising source and it made my heart melt this person was everything she needed. Then she was back, they were back and I laughed again because at the heart of this story there is an amazing story of friendship and family. This second book in the Bennett Duet is much darker than the first but just as intriguing.
Beni is ready to tear the world apart to find hid Mia Bella.

Chantal is a bad ass in her own right. This is no shrinking violet and she’s ready to fight for her freedom.
Miko is still my favorite character and I hope he gets his own book soon.

This is a definite must read!!

UGH, THIS WAS SOOOOO GOOD!!!! I loved it so much! The strength showed in this story was powerful and I just couldn't put the book down.
Chantal is the best fighter in this book! She grew exceptionally well as the story progressed and I was so proud on how brave she was!
Beni is a fierce character and you do not get in the way of what is his, EVER! He would burn the earth down for the ones he loves and that is sooo swoon worthy. He is still the controlling bastard from the first one, but he does evolve a lot and you can't help but love him with all of his faults.
GO READ THIS BOOK NOW! I Promise you WILL NOT be disappointed!
