The Final Battle has arrived... Nolan finally has the true target in his Janus Bennett, super-augmented soldier, shadowy head of the Protection Bureau, and right-hand man to the most powerful general in the Nyzarian Empire. And Bennett is holding Jadis and Roz hostage… Nolan must rescue the civilians, save his brother’s life, and eliminate the threat to the Empire—all while facing an enemy that wields the might of an entire army and a clandestine organization determined to cross him off their hit-list. If he fails, everyone he loves will face an unimaginable threat far deadlier than anything he’s battled over decades as Cerberus, Silverguard sniper and ruthless assassin The epic final book in the Cerberus Series is here. Are you ready?
I am, first and foremost, a storyteller and an artist--words are my palette. Fantasy is my genre of choice, and I love to explore the darker side of human nature through the filter of fantasy heroes, villains, and everything in between. I'm also a freelance writer, a book lover, and a guy who just loves to meet new people and spend hours talking about my fascination for the worlds I encounter in the pages of fantasy novels.
Fantasy provides us with an escape, a way to forget about our mundane problems and step into worlds where anything is possible. It transcends age, gender, religion, race, or lifestyle--it is our way of believing what cannot be, delving into the unknowable, and discovering hidden truths about ourselves and our world in a brand new way. Fiction at its very best!
Its rare I can say I read and enjoyed twelve books in a series but the Cerberus series is finally complete and I had a fun time throughout. Nolan has one final mission: stop the assassination of the Emperor. Can he do it and potentially bring down the Protection Bureau once and for all? But is that the real cause? What about his adopted child? The answers to all of these are satisfying and while it leaves perhaps room for a sequel, if this was the end of the series forever then I would be content.
Wow, I have said before I am completely in awe of this series even though it was a genre I never looked at. The books before have been very, very good but this one is out of this world. What an ending, (you understand I’m biased here don’t you). I just couldn’t put it down after I started reading, it just goes to the next level. If you like the others you’ll love this.Highly recommended.
Another great in this futuristic and AI stories. Once you start reading, it’s impossible not to get caught up with the characters and the plot. You definitely become involved in all that happens. I wish this series would never end.
Oh, what a wonderful ending to this series. For a genre I don’t normally read this was fantastic. Action, characters, story, Peloquin never fails to deliver. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes military space stories and doesn’t mind violence
The final book in the series, and this one will blow your socks off!
I have read every single book in this series, and I have to say that this one had me reeling almost from the outset!
Nolan Garret and his companions are fundamentally on a rescue mission to save Bex's daughter Roz, and Nolan's friend and love interest, Jadis; from the Protection Bureau who have kidnapped them in order to get Nolan to give himself up to their justice after he 'severed ties' with them in an extreme manner and destroyed much of their evil testing on other silverguards to turn them into supersoldiers with no conscience or restraint.
Now Nolan has to use all his cunning, skills and strength to get Roz and Jadis back, but he is not in good health and only has 24 hours to come up with a plan that he, Taia and his Silverguard friends Darren, Zahra and Bex can impliment to get them back. What happens next is exciting, oh my gawd I loooved it! Talk about pulse quickening stuff!
Nolan has the greatest help of all, his implanted AI, Taia, who can do so much more than he and his human allies can. She serves many purposes and has become an integral part of Nolan's life. She is one of his greatest allies but also his dearest friend, one who knows him on a cellular level and has saved his life on multiple occassions. I would love to have an AI implanted in my brain to help me with doing things, especially as I share something in common with Nolan, as I too, am in a wheelchair. I would love to be able to use an exo skeleton suit to make my legs work again. How incredible would that be? One day these things will be readily available, as with all things in life, progress makes all things possible.
Going back to the book tho, the utter exhiliration you get from immersing your head totally into Nolan's world, is wonderful. He lives a life on the absolute edge. On the edge of life threatening, and on the edge of legal.
This story ending is so thrilling. I found myself twitching when it came to the fight scenes, silly I know, but I got a viseral reaction when I read this book. I think reading this book without putting it down to do other things is the best way to enjoy it. I read it over a day and a half and it was so rivetting, so demanding of my time and attention that it was like another person in the house, urging me to greater and greater commitment to the book.
If you have read any of this series, then you will understand the viseral feelings I mentioned that I got in response to this book, but if you haven't read any of the series, my goodness, you are really missing out on something truly exciting and exhilarating, this series and this book in particular, are well worth a read for certain.
First I don't usually read science fiction of any kind, that being said I do however read this authors books. All of the ones he has written before, when he said " hey I'm going to write this story" I was like great. Just when I thought he could never write something I wouldn't read, he throws this at me. So I read Kill order, which left me thinking " wow! This could be ok". Then I found myself looking forward to the next book to see where this was going. I found myself throughly looking forward to the next story. As new aspects of Nolan's life & mission got more involved so did I. Learned new was of expressing myself (ie Christmas on a cracker & shit sticks) this is truly an awesome series, saying this I wanted to throttle the author, send hate email asking him wth ? Why ? and really what the hell are thinking !! I do throughly recommend this awesome series, you will experience joy, hatred, tears, anger and love of the tale. In the final book Imperial Command all things come to head for Nolan and his friends and former team members. A climatic wrap up but is it the of Nolan and Taia...
Call sign Cerberus Nolan Garrett is a retired Silverguard Sniper, only thing is he's wheelchair bound and an ex drug addict. In his world things are not always what they seem. Taia is Nolan's AI, implanted I'm his head and together they work for the " Protection Bureau ". Until things go sideways. Nolan's whole mission is to save his brother, along the way he befriends and comes to care for people from various walks of life. In this multi books series Andy Peloquin takes his reader from slums in New Avalon to the outer reaches of his known galaxy.
Roz, Bex's daughter and Jadis have been kidnapped and Janis Bennett better known to our group as Raptor has told Bex that unless she hands Nolan Garrett over to him at the time and place he chose she would see neither of them alive again. So our team got planning, thinking to be one step ahead of Raptor but even though they had good plans these turned awry, as even good plans have a tendency of doing, and though Bex managed to get Roz, Jadis was taken once again. Nolan was damned if he would sacrifice her after all they had been through. So they planned once again but Bennett had also been a Silverguard so he too had plans and counter plans apart from being fully armed and with a back up army of Project Icarus hyper soldier freaks at his command. Seems he was not taking any chances, knowing how dangerous and deadly Nolan was. General Stone working together with Janus Bennett was one of the most powerful people in the Empire and would be Nolan's deadliest foe. In this book which brings us to the end of this amazingly exciting series we get the ending we have been waiting for as Nolan faces technology like he'd never seen before in the biggest fight for his life in a bid to save not just Jared, his brother and his friends but also the Empire. I am so sad that this series has come to an end but I do think that there is so much potential to write further books focusing on our team of heroic characters so there is hope yet! However, what I would like to see is this series serialised or turned into a film, it would be one of the best and most thrilling and daring sci-fi adventure film ever! Well done Andy Peloquin for yet another thrilling edge of the seat series!
A very fitting ending to an extraordinary series! Imperial Commando, the twelfth and final book in Andy Peloquin's Cerberus series closes the Nolan Garrett story with a truly unexpected twist that in a sense gives an explanation for the existence of the Protection Bureau and the reasons for the existence of Project Icarus. I loved the subtle references to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Chuck Norris among others, but I won't say where in the book. And I also loved all the covers, that are very much in accordance with the story that the book tells. As always, an intense plot that keeps the reader trapped even if they don't want to, with strong characters, action on the edge and a very realistic setting. It seems like it was a long time ago when I commented that I did not use to read Space Opera books, now what I say is that I am willing to read any genre as long as it is written by Mr. Andy Peloquin, exceptional storyteller and artist.
For as many times times as I have sung Andy Peloquin's praises as a story teller this finally is spot on. Besides a fun and entertaining writer he can get right up into the emotions of the character and situation. He'll pull out all the stops on the action and rescue his characters out of the most impossible situation that even I can't see how he'll do it. For the finally Mr Peloquin filled in all the gaps and created at thread to follow from Nolan's very first job for the Protection Bureau and how their devious hooks are everywhere right up to the end. I love all the mind blowing realization in the last two chapters, I can say no more than that. Mr. Peloquin's imagination is always a joy to enter because I know I won't be disappointed. If you have not started this military Sci-Fi please do so. I highly recommend it.
And so we say goodbye to Cerberus! I have enjoyed the journey with Nolan Garrett, Bex, Team Warbeast, Jadis and Roz. Nolan in particular has been to hell and back to save those he loves. In this final book he faces Raptor and the whole might of the Protection Bureau. He’s weak from the radiation he went through to get rid of the MCH mutation and the tungstenite contamination but Silverguards don’t just give up and Nolan is a Silverguard through and through. But this time you have to wonder if he’s not biting off more than he can chew. He’s certainly got every reason to see this through to the end!
I've been waiting for this book since I got the pre-order notification. Most certainly didn't disappoint. I do have one incredibly minor gripe, and that is aimed at the author of this absolutely gripping series:- Ending on an emotional cliffhanger? REALLY?! If you haven't read from the beginning it won't mean anything, this space epic is worth every penny, and I believe the first book in the series is available on prime reading. Give it a whirl, smash through all of them, I haven't been this enwrapped by an author since I discovered messers King, Pratchett and Cornwell. Here's to the future writings of AP NULLUS HOSTIS INVICTUS.
It's partially over as this ARC doesn't so much as tie it all up in a nice neat bow but actually give us some clarity as to how the previois events across the entire series was a ja torch highlighting for what is to come yet. Peloquins best work yet and fingers crossed a prelude to even better stories as we brace ourselves for the onslaught of further page turners.
Received as an arc. Great ending that is wrapped up nicely with answers that were on my mind. Although true to Andy's style, he has left an opening for future adventures with Nolan and the team. Full of action, banter, fighting, and intrigue. A series that has held my attention, and that says something, as I don't usually read Sci-fi.
Andy! This was a fun ride from book one to book 12 and what a setup for future story lines this final book wasn't a cliffhanger as much as a setup for so many good things to come in such a great conclusion to the storyline thank you for taking the time and the effort to write a good piece of storytelling thoroughly enjoyed this
Epic tale of adventure while enriching us with characters that burst from the pages alive.
Wow I just finished the last book in this opus , Space Opera at its most exciting. I would recommend these books to anyone who has longed to read a story of love loyalty and military prowess while riding a really fast rollercoaster.
Spectacular! Cerberus is hellbent on saving Roz & Jadis and taking down the Protection Bureau. It didn’t occur to him that he might have to save the Empire along the way. An epic conclusion to a fabulous series. I highly recommend giving it a read. You won’t be sorry!
A tremendously satisfying ending to a real page-turner of a series. All loose ends tied off, all happy endings granted, all bad ends for villains come to, and the way open for another series in the future. Big sigh of content here!
A highly recommended and thoroughly enjoyable series.
Andy Peloquin’s talent shines through in this somewhat dystopian tale. Great characters and a plot that carries many twists, surprises and cliffhangers.
What a thrilling end to this awesome series. Twists to the storyline right until the end. Just loved the 12 books and I can’t wait to read more about these great characters and the battles to come.
Compelling characters with great depth. This fast-paced series has good flow with an unexpected protagonist whose growth becomes more human through each challenge. Well done!
