I love how practical this book is! It’s a quick read that I know I’ll revisit several times. I liked that each section felt manageable and provided different approaches to the topics being discussed that can fit into any lifestyle.

Jessica presented this in a way that is relatable and doable! She not only helps you to begin thinking about how to implement what you’re reading, but it also provides you with a plan of action to help you succeed in doing so.

This is a book that I see my spouse and myself putting into practice for years to come. It’s straightforward, yet challenging and motivating. The author does a fantastic job showing how doable it can be to connect with my spouse and how to make this super important action a regular part of our everyday lives. There are 8 main areas that the author speaks to and provides guidance on how to create customized rhythms that work for your specific relationship. One of the things I like best is how the author challenges us to stretch ourselves to grow, but also to allow ourselves grace and the ability to fail. After 17 years of marriage, I’m excited to grow even closer with my spouse and I’m confident that the rhythms we create with the help of this book will become permanent fixtures in our relationship.

A relatively quick read, "Rhythms of Relationship" sets up as a manual for improving one's marriage. Short establishes the need for intentional patterns of behavior in any relationship and then offers a balance of anecdotes and actionable steps to reinforce each "rhythm." The author instructs revisiting the book - even sharing it with a significant other - with the goal being for couples to erect helpful habits.

The author calls attention to the length of her relationship (married for a handful of years at the publish date), which could be taken as problematic. The content presented should prove effective at any point in a committed relationship but the delivery conveys in a way that seems to target people who have just moved past their honeymoon phase.

One of the most helpful books I’ve read to move a marriage toward more closeness and unity. The rhythms are laid out in a very practical, down-to-earth way, making them easy to work into everyday life. Jessica does a wonderful job of packaging this information in a clear, well-organized format so that you can focus on as little or as much as you want, and then circle around again to focus on a different “key of marriage growth.” No matter how many years you’ve been married, this book will make your marriage better and stronger!
