Ok, if I'm honest, I hated Kane when he was first introduced. However, the thought of getting into his head and figuring out what broke him fascinated me. I patiently waited for what felt like forever for this story. I fully expected to be at least a little bit disappointed. I've never been happier to be wrong! This book was hot! Kane's backstory is definitely worth the read.

Two words...simply awesome!
Without giving away too much, Kane is a gigantic a**hole in the second book in this series: Autumn of the Beta. Going into this novella, I was instantly on edge and a bit riled up. Knowing the story was about Kane and his dickish tendencies, I was instantly unsure about how his character would end up being portrayed.
I mean, when a bad guy is a bad guy, you don’t want to be rooting for them to find their true love and their happily ever after, right?!
Well, I done went and got my closed minded noggin knocked about a little, didn't I?!
Honestly, I was blown away by the character portrayal and development of Kane’s personality throughout this book. Not only do you get an insight into his past, but it also reinforces that you cannot judge a book by it’s cover. Delving into the deeper workings of Kane’s mind, you see how twisted and messed up his entire life has been and you truly begin to understand just what makes this man tick and how he has come to be.
Not only that, but you also get dragged deeper into the wider influences of the incidents that keep happening around Silver Lake pack and it’s associated pack alliances. Delving deeper in the intricacies of the supernatural world, another spanner gets thrown into the works when another Alpha-ahole comes to light.
Despite being the bad guy of one story, Kane becomes the saviour of another. Not only saving a stranger's life, but also that of his mates, all whilst protecting the pack from unknown danger.
Can he overcome his past to conquer his future and keep both his mate and his new pack safe?

Slow burn with only oral and hand... m/m mmf. All three main characters are very well written. I love the alphas they treat their pack and other shifters meeting refuge like family. Kane is haunting a troubled and your heart goes out to him. Samson is the big silent type He was afraid to act on his feelings for Kane. Both the guys are wolves of course which is sort of ironic because Tavi is a deer. She does have some skittish deer treats but she's also very feisty. I love how she announced that they were mates instead of one of the big strong burly guys LOL.
I accidentally read it out of order but only cause me to miss very little.

Oh I loved Kane's book!
The broody rough around the edges man finds his place in the most unlikely of places with an added surprise.
Sometimes it takes a special kind of person to fill the gaps in a broken soul, sometimes it's the person you least likely expect.
I knew there was something about him that I loved, he just needed to find it within himself.

Such a fun, and perfect addition to the series... a great MMF story that adds just enough to the series yet tells us a special story just of these three ... well done!

The seasons of the wolf series is intense. So many ups and downs. Going from the first book you are introduced to Kane and he is not your favorite character! Though you get to see a whole new side of him and find out why he is the way he is. This Novella shows you there is more going on than anyone knew.
I highly suggest everyone read this book as well as all the previous ones if you haven’t already! Yes this might be a novella but it is also packed full of character twists and details just making you want more!

Wonderful
I'm loving this series. Niki has once again added another amazing story to her world. This story does focus on a different pack it sill is all connected. I loved learning more about Kane, who we met in a previous book, and finding he is not as much of an ass as believed. The three main characters have great chemistry. I highly recommend this whole series.

This book was amazing. I loved the dynamic of the couple and fell more in love with these guys by the second! Niki is a fabulous author and I can not wait to read more

Great addition to the series. Each book brings characters new and returning. This one shows more about Kane and Samson. We learn more of their past and what the future might hold. We also meet a couple new characters with one being Octavia. She is definitely about to change things up for the pack. I love this series and the short stories really help to get to know the characters and fall in love with them. Can’t wait to read the next book.

This series gets better with every book! I wasn't sure what to expect with Kane's story, I mean the guy was a total dick in the first book! Reading this story, you learn that like most people, Kane has a past that causes him to mask himself as an ass to hide his pain. It's heartbreaking to learn about his pain, and Octavia's, but it's heartwarming to see him find a happily ever after with his mates. Even a prickly pear like Kane deserves peace and love.
I adored the story and can't wait to read the next books in the series! Although, I wouldn't mind reading more about these three behind closed doors;)

Another great book in this fantastic series! Niki Trento delivers again, and this time with some added spice! It was a pleasant surprise getting to read about the internal battles going on inside bad boy Kane's head. The story also tied into the All Axel's Eve short and together, it looks like these two shorts are setting us up for something epic!

To be honest, I was a little hesitant in reading this book because Kane left a bad taste in my mouth in book one. Even though I know it wasn't all his fault, it was the elves controlling him. So tell me why this has been my favorite book so far?!? The character development of Kane since the first book, is AMAZING. I also loved the characters of Samson and Octavia. I'm also now terrified for Kane because of Samson's vision, please send help.

a great novella to slot into the storyline
This book refers to things from other books in the series but would easily work as a standalone novella. There is some male on male sex scenes and hints towards abuse to be aware of before starting the book but it's a great storyline and strong characters

Wow! Loving these!!
So we met Kane in the first book and I despised him. However, in this he redeems himself somewhat now that we know why he is the way he is. Still no excuse to act like a "jerk", nice words only. Lol
Kane, Samson, and Tavi are simply amazing together. Absolutely loved it!!
