Misty's Corner Review :
"Never Surrender" is the explosive 12th and final installment in Stacy Claflin's 'Alex Mercer Thriller Series' and let me tell you - it is on FIRE! Claflin sure packs a punch with her non-stop, no-nonsense, take no prisoners action!

While I didn't want this book, or series, to ever end, I am quite satisfied with how it ended, in typical Alex Mercer fashion! The characters were easy to connect with, as with previous books, and the feelings were just as raw and all-consuming. I started this series back when book eight, "Danger Zone," came out, and I've been hooked ever since. I keep meaning to go back and read books one thru seven but haven't yet had the chance, although now that this series is complete, I might have to to get my Mercer Thriller fix! I'm rooting for a possible spin-off!

If you're looking for quick thrillers with easily enjoyable characters then look no further, this series is sure to keep you swiping the pages! I want to take a moment and send a great big thank you to the author, Stacy Claflin, for providing me with a complimentary copy of this title in exchange for my honest review.

Thanks for reading!

Last in the series just as thrilling and fraught with danger😲

👍👍 I have loved this Alex Mercer series and I am sad to see it end with Never Surrender. But now I finally know more about the kidnapping ring that has plagued this town and Alex's family and friends throughout the series.

With family strife, new crime spurts and issues at work, policeman Alex Mercer endures heavy stress trying to keep his family together and safe in frightening circumstances. It's hard to believe that Alex is still in his 20's when he's lived through so much. Author Stacy Claflin has done a great job creating a realistically flawed and vulnerable hero who will go to the utmost limit to safeguard his loved ones, friends and the child kidnapping victims he's made it his mission to help. His daughter Ariana is a moody, put-upon teen with attitude and I love how she has grown into a strong-willed and street-smart young woman who speaks her mind and keeps her parents on their toes.

This book was a quick read for me because once I started I could not put it down. It's written so that an audience from teen to adult can enjoy the suspense and action without worry of details too graphic. Like with its predecessors, I totally enjoyed the experience.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Ahhhh this was so bitter sweet reading this book. If you love the Alex Mercer thrillers you may want to try the gone trilogy which is where this wonderful and exciting series is spun off from. I absolutely love the Alex Mercer thrillers and am absolutely gutted the series has come to an end however it’s come to an end in such a lovely way it’s a perfect end to a perfect series.

Never surrender was so intense and fast paced with so much going on that you just couldn’t stop reading. I read this book within 24 hours. There was so much going on and all the questions I’ve wanted answers to durning the rest of the series were answered in this book everything was tied up and nicely put away. Stacy Claflin has done a fantastic job with this series you really get to know all the characters well and they are all really likeable and easy to connect with you see different peoples perspective and can understand how each character is feeling and why.

A fantastic end to a fantastic series I will miss Alex Mercer and his family and friends.

This book is bittersweet as I'm sad to say it is the last book in the series, I am definitely going to miss the Mercer family. The story itself is great, there is lots of suspense, right from what is happening to the Mercer family personally, to the case that is a heartbreaker. We find out a lot more about the kidnapping ring, and who has been involved in hurting the Mercer family so badly. This is a really great ending to such an amazing series that I really recommend to anyone who hasn't read it. But be prepared you are going to love this family as much as I do.
I received a free download of this book from the publisher. This review is my own honest opinion of a truly amazing ending to a terrific series.

Since the last set of abductions, Zoey is determined to move away, not listening to Alex and Ari who want to stay close to their friends and the family. So Zoey takes the twins to look at homes in Boise and that's when Zander gets abducted while other abductions are taking place along the coast. After what Alex and Zoey already went through together I was shocked to find them in such a hopeless situation and the story was thrilling to no end. Is there really a mole in the force and is Alex right about who it has to be?!

Alex is dealing with his wife threats to move. Alex and others are still trying to figure out the kidnapping ring. There is news that there are new abductions all over. Alex learns that some is following his daughter and her friend.
Alex is convinced there is a mole in the department. He will do what he has to end this ring once and for all. He just hopes everything will survive these challenges.

This was a thrilling conclusion to the series. You won't want to stop reading once you start. You will enjoy the story the author has weaved.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review.

An Exciting, Emotional & Action packed ending to the Alex Mercer Series !! It's hard to believe that this could be the last time we read about the Mercer & Fleshman Families 😞. The kidnapping ring is taking children all over & has Alex, Nick & the FBI on alert to keep their town safe. Zoey feels that her hometown is no longer a safe place to raise her children & wants to move. There are so many twists and turns that you won't be able to stop reading until you've reached the end. I hope there will be a spin-off series. Stacy Claflin is very creative & fluent in her writing. I received an arc copy of this book and this is my own honest opinion. 😷🌹🐧🐞

I have been an Alex Mercer fan from the first book and of course the Gone series that started it all. As much as I've loved this series I do believe it was time for it to end. Stacy Claflin did it justice with this last story as the kidnapping ring touch Alex's life and family once again. As always there is family drama and mystery that will keep you eagerly turning the pages.

Alex Mercer would make a great TV series. I've totally enjoyed the ride through this series and look forward to what new series is coming next.

Another wonderful story of the Alex Mercer series by Stacy Claflin. I love this series. They are such a close family with a close community of extended family and friends. There is trouble in paradise in this book. Zoey is so afraid of the kidnapping ring that she want to relocate. Of course Ari doesn't want to leave her boyfriend and best friend. Alex doesn't want to give up his job as a detective. So who gets what they want? Is there harm around the corner?
The characters remain the same throughout the series with an occasional new person. The characters are very well developed and believable. The dialogue flows freely and smoothly. The storyline is amazing as always. The editing is very clean with no spelling or grammatical errors. I always recommend the books in this series to everyone that loves a good mystery as there are no profanities or inappropriate sexual situations. I love Stacy Claflin's books and can't wait to see what the next one is about.

Never Surrender is the 12th book in the Alex Mercer Thriller series by Stacy Claflin.

Alex is still having issues with Zoey wanting to move to a safer location. The child abduction ring is on the ropes which makes them dangerous and wanting to go after the people who have been after them. That is not good for Alex, Nick, or their families.

I’m a huge fan of this series and am sad this is ending. It wrapped up well and left me wanting more which is much better than dragging it out.

The title says it all!
While this ending is satisfying in some ways, it was with a heavy heart that I read the final line of the story! I’ve come to know Alex, his family, friends, and community. The characters and story lines are intricately woven with various kidnappings and relationships as common threads. You will hope that this time the heinous perpetrators are finally found and experience some serious town justice. A superb series by a gifted author!

Another great read

I have read the Gone Trilogy and all of the Alex Mercer books. When I got to the end, it felt like I had lost a good friend. When I read on and found you may write more and had another book coming out, I am really happy to know that. It has been exciting and fun reading as Alex and his family grows up and faces all the challenges they faced. The characters are so well written you feel like they are part of your life. I highly suggest you read these books!

SO sad to see this series end! Characters who love, some you want to slap seriously what are you thinking saying that (fill in the blank, no spoilers)? Some you question, others you just want to be around (G)!
Page turning storyline, adventures, woods (again), kid kidnappings (again, but more), puzzle pieces to put together & solve, thank goodness Alex has a huge piece. I really want to see what happens with Ariana!

This was an amazing story. It was a page turner. Alex and Zoey are having marital problems, Ariana has a stalker, children are missing and one is Alex and Zoeys. Alex is barely functioning and Nick is doing his best to help his best friend Alex. Their chief is acting suspicious and when Alex gets a lead he will put his life in danger to find his son and take down the kidnapping ring and get his marriage back on track. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.

I can't believe it has come to an end

I can't believe this is the last of Alex Mercer. I have grown to love all the characters. I do hope their will be spin offs. I don't tell what is in the books I read. That's for you to read and find out. I do hope you enjoy the series as much as I have. So it's off to college. I wonder what is on the agenda after. Thank you Stacy Claflin for a wonderful series.

This is another exciting addition to the Alex Mercer series. I was hooked from the beginning. I like the vulnerability of Alex. He is so likable. The storyline is very intriguing and full of suspense. It can be read as a stand-alone with no cliffhanger. Very entertaining. Another Grand slam!

Just when you think a book in a series cant get any better, any more intense...bam! Never Surrender has you looking in so many directions trying to figure out what is going on, you have to continue reading to find out. Dont start this book thinking you will read a few chapters and put it down and pick up later...wont happen...BUT, it is so worth it!!

While an excellent read, this book didn't grip me as much as the earlier books in the series. It made for a gripping end to the series, which is the way a final book should.

I love Stacy's writing style. She's a versatile writer able to pen fantasies, thrillers, and romances. I eagerly wait for more of her books.

Wow, what can I say..... I've thoroughly enjoyed all 12 books in this series. Alex and his family grew on me from the very first book, and now I have a feeling that whatever I read next will not hold a candle to this series, lol. If you love a good page turning read, then this series is definitely for you.

Don't want to say goodbye to such a wonderful series. The Mercers and Fleishmans have become like family because we've followed them through so many ups and downs in life. It would be great to follow a new series about all the children as adults! Thanks for such an emotional ride!
