"So your sister likes to get drunk and beat up guys twice her size," Taylor said, her eyes closed. "Yup." A beat. "So you can teleport." "Yup." Another slice of silence. "So you really can fight," she said. "Yup." A single heartbeat. "So you can teleport." "Yup." "Cool. Cool, cool, cool." Taylor squinted at him, his outward calm mystifying. "You're taking this a lot better than I imagined," she said. He shrugged, but like a bomb, he exploded. "Holy- You can teleport!" Taylor nodded once with the inevitable. "Yeah, that was more like what I was expecting."
Taylor's life has been thrown into tailspin. Since discovering she could teleport six months ago she's been trying to juggle being a high school student by day, and a vigilante by night with failing results. Unable to stay awake in classes from her late nights, her grades are dropping fast, and to top it off her exhaustion has she left friendless.
When saving late night employees from a burning building puts Taylor in the path of a dangerous criminal, she ends up in an altercation that forces her to realize she needs help.
Help comes from two unlikely people: Clint and Dominic who bring their own complications.
Will Clint - a former martial arts champion - be able to teach Taylor how to protect herself? Can Dominic teach Taylor that she's not alone? With the aid of these two can Taylor help Detective Weston investigate a crime family, one that holds more dangers than either them could have predicted?
As the problems keep building, Taylor is quickly learning that having an ability doesn't mean she knows how to protect the city, let alone herself.

I love this book! I seriously do! I love the characters, the plot, the action, the development, and the description.
Does it still need work? Obviously, it’s a first draft but overall it’s a book I enjoyed and wouldn’t toss in the never-to-touch-again-because-I-loath-it pile.
Clint does need more softening, he comes off too closed off so that makes sense why people didn’t ship him and Taylor as much.
3.5 stars. I'm a big fan of Jenkins and her writing style. This book was fun, but video couldn't get into these characters as well as some of her others. I do highly recommend A Secret Service, however! That's one of her best books! Jenkins has very deep characters and (to me, anyway) pretty good plot with different un-stereotyped plots.
