When the gods turn bad…
... reapers come out to play.

My name’s Autumn, and I was raised by a fanatical cult. I made a deal to be possessed by a god. I was tempted by forbidden whispers of eternal pleasure. Then a lethal but sexy-as-hell god broke me, stealing my magic.

Loki, God of Mischief.

Now, I’m the Infernal: a witch who reaps both gods and demons. I guard the Tree of Life in an English forest, which is stalked by scorching-hot but dangerous monsters.

When a curse binds my greatest enemy, Loki, to me as mate by his shifter spirit, it’s my turn to break a god. I’m seduced, however, by his beautiful mayhem. Then he spins a wild tale, and it turns out that everything I’ve known could be a lie.

Can I trust Loki and my other gorgeous rebel gods and demons?

Hades — My brooding Hellhound God of the Underworld who’s a giant of muscles, midnight black hair, and shadows

Ra — My Phoenix Sun God who’s tall, blond, and my loyal friend and lover

Kit — My Kitsune Fox Spirit with powerful magic and mesmerizing eyes, which I could lose myself in forever

Oni — My roguishly handsome Demon with a lady-killing smile who’s my first love and Soulmate

They’re the enemy, royalty, friend, bonded, and second chance. They’re also my obsession...and secret protectors.

When the gods are rebels, the demons are wicked, and the shifters are savage, it’s lucky that I love bad boys…

Rebel Gods is packed with magic, mythology, and soulmate romance, where the men know how to share! Perfect for fans of Laura Thalassa, Amelia Hutchins, C.N. Crawford, Elizabeth Briggs, Linsey Hall, Eva Chase, and Sarah J. Maas. Complete series!

This author has a unique way of writing and an amazing talent for Character definition and relationship definement, the storey itself is quite basic but that's perfect as its the Character interactions that create the magic in this book!
Autumn, Oni, Kit, Loki, Ra and Hades are your main characters but as you would expect Loki is the star of this book. I also love that teh back storey is at the beginning rather than having flash backs, This storey is also full of sarcasm, wit and sass from all directions - The banter is brilliant!

It’s a new twist on the telling of Gods. Autumn gets her world rocked in more ways than one in this book. All the characters are loveable, even the ones you think you will hate you end up loving. I could not put this story down. Guardians and mischief and bitchy sisters who need a good slap in my opinion. You wont be sorry if you read this book.

Once upon a time, I think it was over a year ago, I read the first chapter of Johns' werewolf series in an advent calendar. I was intrigued by her writing style, the way she crafted her world and how she portrayed and wrote her characters and the book had been on my mind ever since. I just never read it. I only read my first John's a couple of months ago (the one with the amazing Satan!) and I really wanted more. So when I could get an ARC for this book, I didn't hesitate!

What I love is that, even though I only read two of her book so far, all of Johns' books are connected and taking place in the same world. It really makes me curious to read her other books, to read about the characters she mentions and to see more of the world. And yet, despite the mentions of other characters and other books, I never felt like I missed out. I could follow and understand this story perfectly and I could enjoy it to the fullest.

And that's mostly because Johns focusses really heavily on her characters, their emotions and their wants and needs. I was quite surprised how well we got to know our main character Autumn and in this book most of all Loki. Even though plot-wise not even that much was happening, I was really sucked into the story and just didn't want to stop reading. And that's mostly because the characters are so intriguing and I really really wish them a happy ending.

Does that mean there's no plot at all? No. Although I'm not entirely sure where the plot is going yet, there are some recurring themes that I'm pretty sure Johns is gonna take care of. We don't get to see much of the Bacchus Cult, but we can all agree that what they do is not okay, so I hope that Johns will have our main characters take care of it. From what I see all those characters are having some huge trauma's in general and I'm pretty sure we're watching them learning how to deal with them.

And therefore I can't wait for the next book!

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "BAD LOKI". This is sysch a unique interesting, entertaining, intriguing, mysterious, magical, hot steamy scenes, a different take on the paranormal & the God's it grabs you from beginning to end.
Autums parents were killed by Shadow Demons torn apart her sister Ecstasy leader of witches called Bacchants its a cult they worship Bacchus a God of pleasure.
Autumn is ready to sacrifice herself on the night of Bucchanalia she been kept it pretty much a prisoner til this night she's virgin offering herself to Bucchus Loki the God of Chaos is there he causes problems things go wrong & she loses all her powers absorbed by Bacchus to be reborn.
Bacchus tells Autumn because of her sacrifice she & the Bacchants will become Immortal she is sent to be the Infernal for The Tree of Life in short TOF protecting the Eternal Forest.
Autumn has Oni a Demon bodyguard who she's Soul-Bonded once lovers now ex he answers to Hades in the underworld but he still protects her with his life.
Mut is a Witch who drops RA off to Autumn he's a Phoenix she can't control he becomes Soul-Bonded to her & he's a Guardian of the Tree of Life, other guardians Kit a Spirit Fox who was abused by Hesia a Witch who took him as a cub abuse him, then her sister Ecstasy drops off Loki after centuries of hunting him down he has to pay for what he took from her or the Hex she put on him will hold.
I definitely recommend to get this book the start to this unique awesome series you don't want to miss getting the characters are all rebel bad boys that Autumn craves they all have tragic traumatic past but they work together.
I so can't wait for the next book "BAD HADES" the ending was mysterious what did Loki know that no else did was she right to trust him their Soul-Bonded now so looking forward to next book to see what happens.

Battered but never broken

After reading the Rebel Academy series,, I've been dying to know Loki's story in this Rebel universe. Loki is always played off as such a bad guy, and although he sometimes is, Rosemary always makes her characters have such a vulnerability to them that it makes it hard not to love them and get sucked into their emotions as they are feeling them. The "flaws" are honestly what I love the most about the characters and Rosemary ends up making them some of the most endearing and strongest things about them.

Like with all of the Rebel books, the relationships between the main group are pretty fluid and show different ways that love can be shown depending on the type of person you are with and depending on how their past affects how they accept physical and emotional affection. It's always great to see such a variety within the group and how the show of affection is adapted to each individual's needs at the time.

One thing different about this series is that some of the harem is already built and in motion when the book begins. However, I didn't feel that it lacked anything because of this. There still was great character building and backstory to fully support the characters that were already in Autumn's harem. Even though they were already involved, we still got to be introduced to most of them separately and be able to get a feel for them before another one stepped into the present story.

The storyline for this series so far is really interesting and I really like that there was a mixture of pantheons in this book instead of just focusing on one type of god. This definitely leaves this series wide open to possibilities and who and what all can be involved in the overall story. I think I'm most excited to see the baddies get played and beaten at their own game. After all, Loki doesn't get caught unless he wants to be caught.

Chaos Witch - Autumn (FMC) is part of the House of Ecstasy (Run by her sister Ecstasy) a Coven of Witches that worship the God Bacchus. Autumn is trained to be the vessel for Bacchus' spirit. Only things dont go to according to plan and Autumn ends up becoming a Infernal/Reaper. As well as a Guardian for the Tree Of Life (TOF). I loved Autumn from the beginning of this book. Shes quick witted but also loyal and funny. With her menagerie of sweet, witty, flirty and interesting men - God of Mischief - Loki (who both have this love me hate me relationship), Demon - Oni (which we dont read enough off. Hope that changes in future books), Kitsune - Kit (so cute!!), God Ra (Sweet man). Satyr - Bard (loved his sense of humour) and Pixie - Petal. She certainly has her work cut out with all that hotness in this book (lucky lady!!!). I also love when characters crossover from another book and Ecstasy is a big character in The Rebel Academy. I wont spoil it by saying what it is. This is a bloody brilliant start to this series and i loved reading it. I cant wait for the next book now

It starts off with Autumn preparing to be a vessel for her God. Loki is also brought into the mix. It's a different but interesting spin on Rebel Gods like Loki and the guardians of the Tree of Life. There's past trauma for the guardians as well and Autumn loves them all despite it. But Autumn has her own struggles as well. she's also had 1000 years to think about it as well. Her cult and Sister doesn't really help either. Now there's Hades.

Bad Loki by Rosemary A. Johns is the first book in her Rebel Gods series. This book introduces readers to a myriad of new characters and ties in to another series that will be familiar to those who have read it with small teases here and there throughout this book.
Bad Loki piqued my interest from the beginning of this book when we’re introduced to Autumn. I thoroughly enjoyed the beginning of this book and as the story goes deeper I was eager to see where things were going to go. The hunt for Loki is on and the question arises…how long will it last and what will be the end of it? When the story transitions to “present” day and the hunt for a dangerous pair of demons I practically devoured this book. Things went a bit left when the storyline diverts, but with the introduction of new characters my interest was kept intact.
I like the threads that tie this book to another series by this author. It helps to engage me in the right places as Loki gives readers some idea about who he is. I love Kit and Ra as well. These are such unique characters and I have to admit that anytime there is a kitsune in a book…I’m going to absolutely love the kitsune. LOL!
The downside for this book for me is how the storyline seems to really slow down and focus on the mundane of the Tree of Life and Loki’s place in it. The danger is still out in the forest wreaking havoc, but that seems to take a big backseat which is disappointing. I expected a bit more drama from Autumn in connection to her crossing paths again with Loki, but that doesn’t really happen either.
This book does have some really good moments and I loved the humorous moments sprinkled in because they were truly such delightful surprises mixed in. When the story is focused in on the drama and excitement and blends with the more slower paced moments then it’s really enjoyable. It slows down a bit too much in some places which causes me to enjoy the story less, but I’m looking forward to what comes next. I’m choosing to rate this book 4.5 out of 5 stars.

✨✨ONE SENSATIONAL BEGINNING✨✨
Burning britches boo! Rosemary unleashes one helluva incredibly tumultuous, sinfully kickass, tantalizingly delicious rock-my-world wonder with this scintillating rollercoaster, dishing out some cruel lessons, brutal tactics and ruthless decisions, launching this gem to staggering heights. One action packed, hard hitting, heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline pumping, block busting wild ride brimming with riveting drama, gripping intrigue, underlying threats, electrifying suspense and nailbiting situations converge, revving up the exuberance and vigor, jetting this jewel to life spectacularly. Shattered perimeters and frayed fringes solidify while attentive to the perilous twists and wicked turns unfolding, futures are forged and battle lines are drawn, wrapping this jewel up sleek, shiny and tight. The undeniable attraction and scorching chemistry collides with such intensity and ardor, exploding with boundless emotions and infinite affections, bringing our characters closer, uniting them together beautifully. The characters interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits add depth and diversity, transforming into amazing personalities. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating a majestic backdrop that's so rich and lively it feels as though you're part of the story instead of on the sidelines, feeling everything the characters feel. Fabulous job Rosemary, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.

Rosemary Johns brings us to another interconnected world with her past series…we are now going into the Eternal Forest. Autumn is a young witch who promised to be Bacchus’s vessel. Her sister is Ecstasy and she is in charge of the Bacchants. When it comes time for the possession, Loki is offered up in chains as the sacrifice! Autumn is confused and much occurs…she loses her powers and is made immortal and Guardian over the Eternal Forest. She also is appointed the Infernal, one who reaps the Gods and Demons. She has a Soul Bond with God, Ra. She also has her demon, Oni; a teddy bear, Caesar; Kit, a kitsune; Petal, a pixie; Bard, a satyr. There is also the Tree of Life who approves who is a Guardian. One thousand years have passed since she lost her powers and Loki is sent to her via a hex by her sister. Now, she will learn truths that will shake the very foundations of her beliefs and trust~ Who will it be she truly can trust? Who will have her back when it comes time? What is the end game of those who lie to her? Just how powerful are Loki and herself? What are Loki’s true intentions? You will not want to miss out on this new and exciting adventure that only Rosemary can write! I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.

Cults, Gods and Awesomeness!

This series is like no other I have ever read! I thoroughly enjoyed every second of my single session binge read of this book. I have been thinking about it since it finished because it was awesome and the “hello, you just walked off a cliff” ending.

The world-building is stunning, it’s beautiful, it’s artfully created it has all these secrets that we don’t know and a concept that is so unique I felt like I was whacked in the head with a heavy cloud.

The plot is also just brilliant, I had no clue where this was headed and was just along for the ride until, BAM, cliff-hanger and it left me craving more from these characters and this world. It’s so good I’ve dreamt about it.

The characters are amazingly diverse and written with skill. It’s just such a unique and beautiful read, filled with all the feels and just pure brilliance.

I am so, so, so, excited for the next book and can’t wait for more of the characters, the plot and the amazing penmanship.

Wow I absolutely could not get enough of this book! I love Rosemary's writing style! She brings humor and sarcasm to these amazing characters while also giving them a great depth and sometimes a bumpy past. Autumn is definitely one character that does not seem to have such a great past but slowly with the help of her men she does get some of her barriers drop but still holds on to the past hurts and scars given to her. I love the twist there was on the gods and that not all is as it seems on the surface.

I am dying to see what is going to come next for this series and I could not get enough of it! I would highly recommend grabbing this first book! There is plenty of steam but you also get to see behind the barriers that they put up when the alone. There is also plenty of mystery and trying to figure out what is actually happening! You won't want to miss this series!

I loved this take on Loki and the gods. I enjoyed seeing the sass, and sarcasm the characters have, but also liked that they show the damage that’s been done to all the characters, and how it’s hard to recover from trauma, even when you’re no longer in that danger anymore. The revelation that a lot of the gods are flawed, and the implications of some of their corruption, that leads to the character questioning the way she was raised to think, along with her anxiety for feeing like her foundation is starting to crumble from the start of the book makes you cling to what’s happening. the character progression, along with seeing her interact with her men makes you love the characters even more. The cliffhanger about killed me, and I can’t wait for the next book.

Wow... I have read all of this authors books and loved them. But this book just left me amazed. To say this author is creative is an understatement. It was suspenseful, action packed, entertaining and grabbed you before you could finish chapter one.

And the gods, oh geeze this book was just fantastic. I wonder what all is in Mrs Johns head? Some things she writes about I would have never thought of. You get Gods, Rebels, Demons, Reapers and Shifters. Just to name a few. Autumn is the leading character. She is strong, sassy and can kick butt as well, if not better, than any of her mates. This is another universe this author so brilliantly brought to life in this book!! And believe me the steamy parts are off the chart hot!! Grab your book today!!

The destruction of the godly realms begins with a demon’s kiss.

"Do chaos moments look like shattered shards of glass to him? Can he hear the threads of Fate sing? Does he catch his own family eying him with fear like he’s about to transform them into beetles (and I only performed the If You Bug Me, Then I’ll Bug You Hex the one time…)?" - Autumn

Raised as a vessel for Bacchus, Autumn dreams of the day she unites with her God. But when Loki is selected as the sacrifice, all expectations are torn asunder and Autumn is shattered by the ritual. Shorn of her inborn magic, Autumn is gifted with immortality.... And a geas. Autumn is now the Guardian of the Tree of Life, and woe be tide anyone who comes between Autumn and her vengeance... Even the God Loki must beware. The Fates have plans for Autumn and her loves... oh, such plans!

Rosemary A. Johns creates another enthralling world, one filled with Gods, demons and immortals; yet her characters embrace human failings and face challenges before which even the Gods might quail.... And yet... And yet...

I fell for the hype and then I fell for the book. Following the rules is boring. It's more fun to be the rebels. I had found this book while I was surfing through one of my Facebook groups and once I saw that it was already live, involved mythological gods and a reverse harem, how on earth was I going to turn that down? This book did things a bit differently compared to other reverse harem books. Instead of building the harem as the book goes on, this book has the harem already established. We get to learn the quirks of the guys little by little while still learning about the world that we're in as we follow the female lead, Autumn. Things happened so fast in this book, I forgot that it all happens within three days within universe. It was a really fun read.

I even did a whole blog post for the book. So if you want to read my full thoughts on the book, please check it out!

Autumn has been brought up by her sister Ecstasy who leads the house of Bacchants. She is to become the vessel of Bacchus, but on the night of the sermon Loki is as so a tribute. Everything goes badly for Autumn. She losses her magic. Bacchus makes her the Guardian of the Tree of life. Her fate is tied to Loki, her sister has been hunting Loki for a thousand years, and gives Loki to Autumn as a gift, things are about to change for Autumn. Let the chaos begin.
This is a new take on the mythology in which the Greek, Norse and Egyptian gods are all involved. This is a great story I look forward to the next in this series.

A unique take on gods and the paranormal and a fantastic addition to Rosemary A John's world of Rebels. I loved the character building in this one and especially enjoyed Autumn and her strength. Bad Loki is full of intrigue, magic, mischief and steam and has the loveable mysteries and well thought out plot lines that can be found in all of John's books. I was really looking forward to this one because hellooooo Loki!!! and it was everything I wanted and more. The more of course being Ra, Kit and Oni. *Drool*
Anyway... safe to say I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in Rebel Gods and can't wait to read more.

This book was beyond brilliant, I loved the way this book started by showing you the past/backstory first instead of going back and forth throughout the story as it makes it easier to follow that way and you don't find your self confused.
The characters were amazing and I loved each of the MC especially Autumn and Ra, the rest of her men were written just as amazingly especially Kit he had me laughing throughout the book.
The plot of this story was outstanding and had me hooked just like the authors other series did.
I can't wait for the next book to come out so i can find what happens with Loki and Hades

What a very interesting and entertaining read. This was my first time reading a book about Loki. So I really enjoyed this unique take on Loki and the interplay between pantheons. This book just left me wanting more with add in the action, intrigue, suspense, and the steamy encounters will definitely have you hooked from beginning to end making it a helluva of read. So looking forward to the next book in the series. As always my reviews are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.

I wish I could give this an extra star just for the pure brilliance of this book. PNR is my go to when choosing a book and this was such a good choice! I instantly bonded with all the characters, the character building and world building was amazingly done! I didnt want to put this book down, although due to health issues it did take me a few days to finish and it was on my mind all the time, trying to grab another chapter whenever it was possible. The ending through me for a loop, I mean why??? I am now waiting (impatiently!) for the release of the next book. Hurry up please!

Bad Loki is everything that I didn't know I wanted. I adore Loki he's one of my favorite gods and we don't have much of him in books so I was happy to see this book by one of my favorite authors. Autumn is a snarky kickbutt sassy lady and can keep up with her men for sure. Loki the God of Mischief and her enemy turned soulmate, Hades hellhound God of the Underworld, Kit the Kitsune Fox Spirit and Oni her Demon. So thrilling and fast paced this book is with it's gods demons witches shifters reapers and more. I can't wait for Bad Hades.

I'll start off by saying that I think the overall idea and writing style of this book is really great. An interesting take on the mythological gods and monsters stories we've all heard. I like this authors writing style too.

I didn't think there was a lot of cohesion. The MMCs tended to jump in and out and I felt no emotional connection to them because of the sporadic scenes with one or more in them. Autumn talks about her Soul Bonds a lot but I never get the sense that it is more than a few close friends who live in a tree. That's what I got from it, and any "romantic" scenes seemed kinda flat and awkward. She's very naive for a 1000 year old Infernal and that definitely comes across a lot.

I'll probably read the next book to see where it goes, but I think this one needs some tweaking to fully reach its potential.

Bad Loki is Book 1 in the Rebel Gods series by Rosemary A Johns. Like all of the books I've read by Rosemary, this is just phenomenal. Her creativity, world building and character development are superb. Autumn, MFC, is strong, sarcastic, snarky, and can kick butt with the best. There are Gods, demons, reapers, witches, shifters, and more. If you are looking for a beautifully written, action packed, fast paced, page turning thrill ride of an adventure, then I recommend this book. I know you will not be sorry. As this is the first in series and has a cliffhanger ending, I am anxious for Book 2. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary review.

Bad Loki by Rosemary A. Johns - Review

Bad Loki by Rosemary A. Johns and as you imagine, the one and only Loki is one of our leads. I absolutely love when a writer can successfully re-invent old tales and make them new and exciting all on their own. Well, that was certainly accomplished with this book. Not only that but we were introduced to a whole host of well thought out characters and plot. The story was well written with plenty of humor and action. I really can't wait to see where she takes it from here.
