Dylan

My dreams came true when I was adopted at ten.

I was the best on the ice. Living the life of what every kid dreams of.

We’ve been best friends since then. Even when she was the annoying little sister following us around.

I would do anything for her.

It is another family vacation; except this time it feels different. Everything feels different.

Alex

All my memories have Dylan in them. From the first time I fell off my bike, to the time I got my heartbroken for the first time.

He’s always been my protector, but it’s time to let the dream of being his go.

One last family trip, one last goodbye.

Except fate steps in and has other plans.

At the end of the day, you only get one forever.

“Every single memory I have in my life is with you.”

4.5 stars!

This is such a gorgeous read! An emotional and chemistry-filled friends-to-lovers romance with a twist, and an unexpectedly heartfelt family story that brings the series around full-circle. Dylan and Alex’s story brings all the feels, and I loved it!

A bit of background:
- Dylan is the son of Caroline, and the adopted son of Justin, from This Is Forever.
- Alex is the daughter of Max and Allison from Something So Irresistible.
- In familial terms, Dylan and Alex are sort-of cousins, as Justin and Allison are half-siblings. But as Justin adopted Dylan, he and Alex are not actually blood relatives.

Dylan was eight when we first met him in This is Forever where Justin fell madly in love with him and his mother, and he was officially adopted into the Stone family at age ten. He and Alex grew up together and were, and continue to be, the best of friends.

Now, they’re all grown up. Dylan is living in Canada playing hockey, but his dreams of success for his team have come crashing down around him, and it’s time to reassess his life. Thankfully, his best friend Alex is there for him as always, and we get to see just how close these two are, and what those feelings mean for them.

Not only am I in love with her but there is also nothing that I can do … I know I will never ever be able to love her like I want to. I know if I say anything to her, I risk never being able to be next to her again. I risk never getting to see her smile again. I risk never getting to hear her laughter anymore. I risk living the rest of my life without her in it. And it’s a risk I’m not willing to take. I’d rather love her from afar in secret than not at all. It’s a sacrifice I’m going to have to make, and I know that I’ll never get over her.

It’s a heartbreaking situation for him, but it’s super exciting for us because we know that Alex feels exactly the same, and things are about to come to a head as the two of them jet off to Hawaii where they will be sharing a cabin on the annual family holiday.

My heart was pounding just waiting to see what was going to happen between these two. The chemistry is palpable, and the anticipation had me madly flipping pages. I could feel how strongly they felt for each other, but could completely understand their hesitance, knowing what huge implications a relationship between them would have for their very close family. It’s a tricky situation, and I was expecting angst, but thankfully we don’t have to wait too long for the big moment to come.

“I’m in love with you,” … “Every single part of my soul is in love with you, right down to my bones. I’m in love with you.”

Squee! It’s not as straightforward as that, of course, and they have some things to work through, but their feelings for each other are so beautiful, and after hiding it for so long, I loved seeing them finally bare their souls to each other.

“You aren’t letting me go.” He dips his head down as his forehead rests against mine. “I’m not letting you go that easily.”

It’s gorgeously swoony and the romance is passionate and full of emotion, and I love these two together! It’s so easy and natural, they are deeply committed to each other, they know the challenges that they face, and they’re prepared to face them head-on, and there are fantastic scenes with the family as they do just that. Justin and Max continue to rock my world as the protective, supportive fathers that they are (Justin and Dylan together are particularly amazing), and I loved the hilarious and heartwrenching moments as the family come to terms with the news.

There is a surprising twist, with an unexpected storyline that brings SO many feels, and which brings Dylan’s journey full circle. It’s super sweet, and once again, Madison brings strong family themes, with the entire clan involved, and it’s a beautiful addition to Dylan and Alex’s story.

This is a great read, with wonderful characters that I just can’t get enough of. The romance is swoony and sexy with so much heart, and Dylan and Alex’s story is absolutely gorgeous.

“It was always you,” I whisper. “It’s always going to be you. My heart doesn’t beat without you.”

I loved it – 4.5 stars!

Only One Forever is the latest addition to the series, it could be read as a stand-alone but I suggest to read every single novel written by Natasha Madison.

I love this series! The author crafted a wonderful, amazingly intertwined storylines, with a group of phenomenal hockey players and amazing women.

Dylan doesn't know what to do of his future, to keep playing hockey for the team who chose him at the draft and be alone in Canada or go playing for a new team maybe to be near to his family. Before he takes a decision he goes to his best friend that now lives in Dallas, Alexandra. They are in each other life since Dylan was adopted in the Stone family, she is his best friends and his cousin, but when their feelings fo each other change their relationship becomes awkward and complicated. Will they speaks about their true feelings or the fear to lose the other forever will make them hesitate?

Dylan and Alex make a lot of sense as couple. They knew for a very long time, they grew up together, they perfectly understand each other, they love each other a lot and they have a big heart.
I liked how the story grew organically, the relationship among two cousins made me wrinkle my nose at the beginning, but the author gave me the time to know the characters and their stories better in order to understand them and their relationship.

I felt a large array of emotions and I hoped for these two characters to find their way to be happy together.

With every new book in this swoony Only One series from Natasha Madison I fall more and more in love with this dreamy world and its delectable characters. I was especially excited for Only One Forever - not only because it concludes this amazing journey but because we get the much awaited story of Alex and Dylan. And what a beautiful, heartfelt, and pitch perfect love story Natasha scribed for this finale- my heart is just so full.

This friends to lovers story is a long time coming, a merging of stories begun in This is Forever and Something So Irresistible- with a grown up Dylan and Alex. These two grew up as the best of friends, practically family (not blood related, but Dylan’s adopted father who took him in at 10 years old is the half brother of Alex’s mother). Now as adults, they are finally coming to terms with their complicated feelings. They’ve always been there for each other through thick and thin- and as Dylan is at an impasse in his career. And no one better to help him figure out his path than his friend Alex. A visit together during the annual family trip soon becomes so much more, as the long simmering affection between these two begins to come to the surface, and their platonic love evolves into something so much more.

This was one of the more emotional stories in the series, and it made it all the more special, and bringing a lens to Dylan’s past makes for an even richer character story. It feels like the summation of a deeper and longer journey than I even anticipated. The connection between these two, the chemistry, and complexity of their dynamic was such a sweet and compelling treat. The friendship to lovers dynamic is perfectly captured- the progression of meaningful love into a romantic love, a great indication how soul mates can have so many different phases. And we get to see some favorite characters past and present for some comedy and emotive highlights. Family shines just as brightly as the romance.

I am so sad to say goodbye to this amazing world, but what a perfect finale. A beautiful threading of many stories, many characters, and the best parts of this series. Natasha truly saved the best for last!

Only One Forever is book 8 in the Only One series. It can be read as a standalone, but why would you do that, when you can binge read the entire series. Trust me, no one writes hockey players like Natasha. You will love all of the books and the family relationships and banter.

Book 8 is Dylan and Alex’s story. We meet Dylan in “ This is Forever” where Justin falls in love with his mom and adopts him. Him and Alex grew up together and they’re best friends.

This book was so emotional. It hurts seeing these two together but not admit their feelings because of fear of rejection, their families and the public opinion. They are the definition of soulmates. Their connection was so pure and strong. I absolutely loved jealous Dylan when he thought Alex was on a date with another guy. He was so confused and didn’t understand why he was feeling that way.

And then when he finally realizes he’s in love with her and tells her how he feels, AHHH MY HEART.

“And just the thought of not being able to be with you caused me to collapse on the beach. I couldn’t even run after you if I wanted to because my legs felt like there was concrete in them.”

I have been excited about this book forever and I had it on preorder since the second I put down the last one on release day and then I just couldn't make myself read it. I was expecting the book to be emotional and a little heartbreaking and it was. I cried reading this book but only because I have lived parts of this story and I felt it. Natasha did an amazing job of making it feel like we went through everything with them.

Dylan and Alex took a long time to get their shit together but once they did it was beautiful and everything happened at warp speed. I couldn't get enough of all the secondary characters and I can't wait for the next book. Although I just know I am going to be crying through that one as well.

This was a quick listen (audiobook)
This one was waaay better than the book before, Frannie and Wilson.

But what the heck was going on with all the crying!???
It was like cry fest 2022 with every other page…ok maybe every chapter, but still.

I enjoyed the way the story came full circle and even more so that the series ended, lol.

3.75 STARS
This is a really sweet story, the romance is actually not the biggest part and that surprised me. It’s still very central to the plot, it’s just a bit more about the bigger picture of their lives and family in general.
The taboo nature of their love also is a very minimal part of the story. It’s not used as a plot point for a lot of problems or drama. It’s very low angst, low drama story that does have a few scorching hot scenes after the slow burn.
The first half of the book was getting to know the characters and a bit of their secret feelings for each other. Their fear’s and the angsty longing for each other.
Their family members are a big part of the story and they are from previous books by the author.
I think it could be a bit overwhelming to someone who hasn’t read any of the other books. It’s a lot of secondary characters to keep track of and they have shared past and jokes. It’s not necessary in my opinion, it just would probably increase your enjoyment. The family characters bring warmth and laughs to the story. I love the huge, interconnected family and friends in this series/story.
More than halfway through the book the story took an unexpected turn. I liked this development and part of the storyline the most. It’s tug hard at your heartstrings material. It was the most emotional part of the story for me.
It was also very fitting development for Gabe in particular.
The story and characters are a bit on the extremely sweet and perfect side.
If you want a feel good story with some romance and a heartwarming/heart wrenching aspect (it’s not handled in a way that felt too heavy emotionally) this would be the story for you.
I’m really excited for the next book in the series, the character’s are favorites of mine and a very intriguing match. I suspect they’ll be 🔥 together.

Once again Natasha Madison delivers a story full of emotion, angst and laughters! Only her can combine all those 3 ingredients in an epic novel-
Dylan and Alex’s story . You just can’t help who you fall in love with but when it’s family…

I love everything about this book, its characters, its journey and undoubtedly the overwhelming happiness of love winning against all of the odds.

Dylan and Alex are not blood related but were brought up together. Family is sacred and nothing can break this family … but when Dylan and Alex decide to cross that line , life becomes complicated for all of them. My Max … I loved him and love him even more now!

I don’t want to spoil it for you but know that in Only One Forever , Natasha Madison packed so much heartfelt emotion into Dylan and Alex story, so much hot scenes and passion. It was like i could touch their hurt & taste their anger all while soaking in their love & passion.
This book is not just a Hockey Story it’s so much more! The Stones are definitely the Bridgerton of Hockey!

Only One Forever by Natasha Madison is a truly epic 5 star read!

This is one of those books where I wish I could write READ THIS BOOK and readers would grab it... And then as I try to put my feeling for this book into words, I struggle to keep it short.. so I am going to try not to ramble as I relay on my FLOVE for this story!

Dylan and Alex have been friends forever as their families share a bond from before they were born. Both come from hockey families, painted in the author's world as part of a hockey dynasty... which you likely guess means the press...

Having said all that... please know before I get any further this story is about much more than realizing the forever person is your best friend, it is about so much more than realizing your person is your true love. In this story, Madison elevates this love story into a masterful story of love, family, and ties that bind.

From the moment the reader meets Maddox you can feel this story is going to be evaluated and man does that author deliver a powerful storyline!

As this story comes full circle for Dlyan the love he gives and receives will warm your heart and make you believe in humanity and the good in the world. And though that sounds heavy this book is laced with humor and smiles and just enough steam to ensure you know the chemistry Dlyan and Alex have translates.

If you have read Natasha Madison prior and are wondering why Dylan's name and backstory sounds familiar... well it is because the little boy from This is Forever is all grown up! And.. and Alex is the daughter of Max and Allison from Something So Irresistible and I am really you .. you need to read Max as a Dad trying to protect his daughter!

This heart-achingly beautiful story is without a doubt one of my top favorite reads of 2022! Nat's amazing sport romance books are my katnip and I seriosly can't get enough of them! She has not only met all my hopes and expectations for Alex and Dylan's story - she has surpassed them by far giving these two wonderful, young people the HEA they deserve. I've cried, swooned and smiled throughout the story - a whole caleidoscope of emotions! And boy was it worth it. I couldn’t put the story down for the life of me. Thank you dear Natasha for another fantastic and addictive must-read! 5 well-deserved stars!!

You can count on Natasha Madison to deliver the most cliche and yet sweet book you’ll ever read. Of course they love each other but think they are not loved back, and of course there is a fake drama because someone they care about doesn’t like the news (in this case it was so ridiculous that I skipped some pages), and of course they are one thousand characters from previous books that you won’t remember but everyone is there getting along as a happy family.

For some reason Natasha Madison makes me wants to be part of this family and hate them all at once. I don’t know how to explain.

I thought Michael and Jillian's story was beyond amazing but Dylan and Alex's are just as amazing. They're definitely my favourite couples and stories in the series. Dylan and Alex's story is one that I have been anticipating too and it definitely exceeded my expectation.

I loved how deep their love and feelings are for each other. It runs deeper than just between best friends. However, Alex has been harbouring feelings for Dylan for years and he never indicates he reciprocates. So she's planning to move on from Dylan, once and for all after their family holiday.

I was not disappointed at all with their story. I loved that it's not just about their friends to lovers romance but there's also another plot that I really love and it's something dear to Dylan. It's what he has gone through himself. Again, like the rest of the books in the series, Natasha did such an amazing job writing stories with strong family ties and bonds. That it's not just by blood.

I can't wrap my head around that this series has ended because I never want it to end. Though I am looking forward to what's coming from Natasha.

Absolute perfection!

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: taboo
Angst: 😱😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

As a fan of this series, this story was everything I needed and more! Great storyline! Lots of angst due to their family situations and the history repeat had me sobbing both ugly and happy tears. This Is Forever has been a favorite reread of mine and Only One Forever is definitely going to be added to that list. Couldn't have asked for more!

I cannot express how much I loved Only One Forever by Natasha Madison. Cooper Stone is my top BBF out of this world of hers, but his son Justin was a close second, but his son, Dylan, well he stole my heart and never gave it back. I was not ready for this story and ended up devouring it in one sitting. I mean who really needs sleep, right? This was Dylan and Alex’s story and if you have been following this series from the beginning (no matter where you jumped in), you know what a big deal this one was. Natasha gave us a story that was sweet, emotional, angsty and totally captivating.

Dylan and Alex have been highlighted in previous books, though every book in this overall series can be read as a standalone, I highly suggest every single one, as I have loved them all. But you could always see these two have always had a special connection. Now they cannot deny what was always there between them. Can they be together? Will their family stand by them? I do not want to give too much away, but their connection, chemistry and love could not be denied. My heart broke for them at times but soared at others.

Dylan was everything. He was determined, protective, caring and just what Alex needed. He was vulnerable, never forgetting where he came from and loved his family with all his being. Alex has always been loved and protected and her family has always been there for her. She was strong, unwavering in her love, and smart, but afraid to admit her feelings. Together they were amazing and add in Maddox and this story had all the feels. Maddox stole a piece of my heart too. This was an amazing read. I loved it and highly recommend it.

Happy reading!

Yep! Natasha Madison went there with Only One Forever (Only One #8) and kudos to her for writing this book with tact and class. Dylan and Alex’s relationship isn’t typical however, this isn’t a book to shy away from. Each book in this series can be read as stand-alone and if you’ve read them thus far, then you shouldn’t be surprised that these two finally get together.

I was seriously rooting for them because I knew there would be some challenges since Dylan and Alex are step cousins (they are NOT blood related). I mean I love my man Mad Max but we all know he’s a hot head especially when it comes to his princess and baby girl, Alex. Natasha Madison is a creative genius and she does what she does best which is writing an entertaining, heartfelt book with passionate and steamy moments (she never disappoints in that area). The main focus here is the love and romance between two people who were always meant to be together from day one.

Only One Forever is a wonderful way to end this series and it’s definitely a book that you need to take a chance on. You won’t regret reading this five star romance.

With tears in my eyes as I finish this book. The realisation that this book and extend series has come full circle with a story. Of a love that started so many years ago between Dylan and Alex, two best friends that grew up together, from different blood, who are raised as family but as the years pass, the realisation that they are more hits them hard.

This book is about a great love, one you can't control and of saving a little boy, lost and alone in a world. This book has the usual feel good Stone family feeling to it, but with the added heartbreak that could rip this family to pieces. Now I won't say more on this beautiful romance. Just know it's one hell of a journey, one that is strong, bold and worth losing everything for. I see a side of some characters that is unexpected but understandable, that no nonsense protectiveness still shines bright.

Enough of me rambling. This story is fun and sad all rolled into one, evoking some powerful emotions. That's all I can say. Apart from it is a huge recommend from me but I feel personally to get the full effect of this book, you need to start right at the very beginning of it all. With Parker and Cooper Stone in Something So Right.

I was so excited for Dylan and Alex’s story and I wasn’t disappointed, this emotional friends to lovers romance was everything I expected and so much more. Only One Forever is the perfect addition to one of my favourite hockey series.
Dylan and Alex have been best friends since childhood, always having each other’s backs and always caring about each other so what happens when they realise they want more than friendship….
Problem is there are more than just the two of them to consider because Alex’s family treat Dylan like a son, like a brother so how will they react when Dylan confesses his love for Alex.
This book had me reeling in emotion, my heart broke as I watched these soulmates try to work through their feelings. This is a romance full of love, passion and family loyalty and it will appeal to a wide range of audiences. A beautifully written romance that hooked me on the first page and didn’t let me go until the final line had been read.

This was a struggle to finish and took me so much longer then it should have.

For one, they overcomplicated how they got together. Yes I know they are “cousins”, but only because Dylan was adopted into the family so its not like they are blood related or even siblings. It really didn’t need to be the “thing” that they made it out to be.

Second, for a sports romance, the sport aspect played a minimal role in the story. He could literally have any other job and she could have run a summer camp and it would not have changed the story in the least, except maybe the press aspect but whatever.

Third, the smut was meh.

The rest of the story surrounding Maddox was cute but overall I was just bored by this whole book.

OMG I was not expecting the amount of tears I shed during this book!!!!

I absolutely loved this book. I've loved Dylan since This is Forever, so I was excited for his book. It's been easy to tell that there was something between him and Alex. I do think it took a little too long for these two to admit their feelings out loud. I get why it took a bit, but I would've loved for it to be sooner so that we could actually be there when they got married (happened off page).

I was a little surprised by how Max acted, but was so happy they had support from everyone else almost instantly.

I love this family so so much! I can't wait to read Chase and Julia's book next just so I can keep seeing these guys.

Every single book is a different story and very well written. In this edition of the Only You series, best friends who were practically raised together finally reveal their love for each other. Dylan was adopted by Alex's family when he was 10. They've been practically family but their love has always been more.

This good can pretty much be summed up by the phrase: "Tears were streaming down his/her face." The story wasn't bad. I was looking forward to it because I like both Dylan and Alexandra as friends and I was excited for their relationship to become more. There was just so many mentions of tears that it took something away from the truly emotional moments like the adoption of Maddox.

I also wish that the family aspect of Dylan and Alex's relationship had not been so prominent as it made their relationship a little bit more ick than I would have liked. I don't understand why Alex's family had such an issue with it. It just seemed like a fake conflict when none was needed.

I think that overall this book was fine. It was definitely better than the previous book in the series. However, I would say that I far prefer the "Something So" and "This Is" series.

Good thing this book was short because it was a mess, in my opinion. The writing was honestly terrible. There were so many run-on sentences and the entire story read like a summary instead of an actual novel. The plot was interesting but the execution just wasn’t there.

Natasha Madison delivers her most emotional sports romance yet in Only One Forever, the eighth book in the Only One Series. This is not just a friends to lovers romance, but it’s about all kinds of love and the determination to strive for what we want no matter where we comes from.

At the beginning we are introduced to Dylan Stone, captain of the Montreal hockey team, they are playing to get to the playoffs only to see his team lose right in front of his eyes. Yet another loss for the team that has seen him grow for the last eight years. But it’s the team’s lack of wins that has the owners wanting to revamp the team and give Dylan the hint to move on. Ever since Dylan was adopted at ten years old, it has been his dream to become a professional hockey player and follow on his dad’s footsteps. He was drafted to one of the best teams at the time and gave it his all. But there is a void in his life that he can’t deny and doesn’t know why that is.

Until his best friend, Alexandra, offers him a chance to get way and that’s how he ends up in Dallas. Little does he know that his life is about to change forever. There is a comforting feeling when Dylan is with Alex, they’ve known each for a very long time. Until he starts seeing her in a new light and the thought of Alex seeing someone else makes Dylan angry and doesn’t know why. It would take a family vacation to put everything on the line, Dylan has to decide if he wants to stay in Dallas for good or move on to another team now that he has fallen for Alex.

For Alexandra Horton moving from New York to Dallas should have felt exciting and new. But she can’t help to feel that something is missing and that could be not having her best friend, Dylan, right next to her. She has seen the news of his latest game and wants to be there to comfort him. Yet, she has put distance between them intentionally hoping to start unloving him. It’s every memory that Alex has growing up is with him by her side, until she realizes that she is in love with her best friend. It’s her mission to put some level of distance between them, but the family vacation changes the course of her life forever. Dylan is determined to win her heart at all coast, but there are a lot more obstacles that they need to go through if they are going to make things work.

I fell in love with Dylan and Alex’s friendship right from the beginning. They know how to cheer one another when things get tough and their story is an emotional rollercoaster as they need to figure out their feelings for one another. They have grown up with each other and their families are close, so for them trying to be in a relationship that may or may not work can cause problems among their families. Until Dylan’s past comes back to haunt him and he realizes just how lucky he is to have had people there for him when he was adopted. He has a chance to fight for what he wants and give someone else the help that he once received. I loved their chemistry and the ending was sweet/romantic. I would highly recommend checking out this book as well as the rest of the series, it won’t disappoint. :)

With tears in my eyes as I finish this book. The realization that this book and extended series have come full circle with a story. Of a love that started so many years ago between Dylan and Alex, two best friends that grew up together, from different blood, who are raised as a family but as the years pass, the realization that they are more hits them hard.

This book is about great love, one you can't control, and saving a little boy lost and alone in a world. This book has the usual feel-good Stone family feeling to it, but with the added heartbreak that could rip this family to pieces. Now I won't say more about this beautiful romance. Just know it's one hell of a journey, one that is strong, bold, and worth losing everything for. I see a side of some characters that are unexpected but understandable, that no-nonsense protectiveness still shines bright.

Enough of me rambling. This story is fun and sad all rolled into one, evoking some powerful emotions. That's all I can say. Apart from it is a huge recommendation from me but I personally feel to get the full effect of this book, you need to start right at the very beginning of it. With Parker and Cooper Stone in Something So Right.

Wow, wow, wow.
I wasn't feeling it and then BAM it hit me all at once and I could not put this one down!

I'm not sure what it was but I was in tears from about halfway through this one. It could have gone either way but as per usual Natasha hooked me and took the book in a totally different direction than what I had previously assumed.

Alex and Dylan are a love story like no other, from nothing to superstar and family ties that are all-consuming this one will have you laughing, it will have you in tears, and will definitely capture your heart as it did mine.

I can't recommend this series or this book highly enough, but for the full effect you need to go back to the start, not necessary but to fully understand the family, and friend dynamics you need the full picture which only comes from reading all their stories.
Believe me, it will be money and time well spent.

10 year old Dylan captured my heart, Only One Forever, and an adult Dylan stole a piece of my soul.

As always, Madison exceeds expectations. This fictional family and the world it inhabits are truly magical. You begin to feel a sense of peace when you open the book, as if you are surrounded by your family. Even though the characters are fictional, the love they instill in you is very real.

Alex is endearing, witty, and sarcastic. After realizing she was in love with her best friend, she had done everything she could to move on, even going so far as to distance herself from the person who had been such an important part of her life. My heart ached for her, with her, as if someone had thrust a hot poker into my chest. I understood the reasoning, but it wasn’t something that was black and white, and I think that made it all the more painful.

Dylan, oh my, swoony heaven. He'd been thrown for a loop, and it led him to Dallas, not because most of his family lived there, but because of one person in particular, Alex. I'm at a loss for words to describe Dylan's relationship with Justin. Their love was everything. Dylan was born to be Justin's son. It was a soul-deep connection that left no doubt in my mind that Dylan was born to be Justin's son.

Alex and Dylan’s connection began the moment they met. It was as though the true depth of their connection kept itself hidden until the right time had come. Once they became aware, it consumed them, body and soul. There was no turning back, not that either of them wanted to.

Feels for days, literally. There were several times when I had to blink tears away in order to see the words in front of me. The feelings of unrequited love felt like hot pokers, and there were other times that my heart broke right along with Alex and Dylan. What caused the most tears was the unconditional love of this family. It’s something that has a way of offering me small pieces of what my heart has been longing for.

A world brimming with unconditional love and brimming with explosive chemistry, a swoony hero, an endearing heroine, witty banter, and steam are all brought together in Only One Forever, a novel that will linger with you long after you finish it.

What an emotional book this was for me! So well written you felt all the feels. Because of the family dynamics, best friends Alex and Dylan are constantly pushing away feelings for each other. They are both convinced that if everyone found out how they felt that things would never be the same. It's literal torture watching these two be as close as they are but not act on their feelings. I felt their pain and my heart hurt for them. When I say they are best friends, I'm not sure that is strong enough word for what they share. I for sure would call these two, hands down, soulmates.

Dylan's career is hitting a big bump in the road so he does what he always has...he goes to Alex who's moved. Going to her means he's packing and getting on a plane. Not only is he going to see her in Dallas but a huge portion of his family lives there. Needless to say, he stays with Alex and that is where it all starts. Dylan starts to see Alex as more and he doesn't know if he can contain it. Let's just say that this makes for some super angsty and sexy scenes! Not only do you get to see these two realize their friendship is turning into something more, you get more info on Dylan's life before he became who he is today. That was fun and heartbreaking at the same time to see. This was such a well rounded book and had a little bit of everything in it. It also shows that family is what you make of it. It doesn't always have to be blood! Loved this book and would definitely recommend it. Such a feel good book!

Professional hockey player Dylan Stone is at a crossroads; his contract with Montreal is expiring, and as much as he loves the team that drafted him, he's ready to explore his options with other teams. Meanwhile, Dylan's best friend, Alexandra "Alex" Horton, recently relocated from New York to Dallas to run her cousin-in-law Brad Wilson's new hockey school. When Alex realizes how much Dylan is struggling with his decision over where to play next season, she invites him to spend a few days with her in Dallas to clear his head. Unfortunately, Dylan ends up more confused than ever when he suddenly realizes that he has romantic feelings for Alex. The problem is that they were raised together as quasi-cousins for most of their childhood, and even though Alex has secretly been in love with Dylan for years, she's never acted on it because she's afraid of the potential impact on their family dynamics. Their true feelings finally come to light during a family vacation in Hawaii, but will their parents' concerns tear them apart before the relationship even begins?

I loved the way Dylan and Alex bantered and teased each other, as well as the slow burn as their relationship gradually shifted from friends to lovers. However, I was also a bit frustrated with them for not being honest about their feelings sooner, as well as the way Alex overreacted and ran away when she finally told Dylan how she felt. There really didn't need to be so much angst! Fortunately, it didn't take them long to figure things out, and once they did, they were steadfast in their commitment to each other despite their family's initial opposition. In addition, I loved the little twist in the second half of the book and the way it brought Dylan's story full circle.

Overall, "Only One Forever" gave me all the feels and I highly recommend it for all fans of contemporary/sports romance. I'm sad that the Only One series is coming to an end, but hopefully we'll see at least a few of these characters again in the upcoming Made For series.
