Drew Jacobs shattered Violet Washington five years ago.
Since then he’s bided his time, waiting for an opportunity to make things right and claim back the woman he loves.
When he finds out that Vi needs help, he goes all out to be the man that will help her.
The attraction these two have is off the charts and it doesn’t take long until they’re picking up where they left off.
But getting her back is a lot harder than he ever anticipated. The pain he inflicted all those years ago is still fresh in Violet’s mind.
A romantic getaway to Vegas has a secret spilling out and Drew will do everything to make sure that she’s his.
Which includes heading to Las Vegas wedding chapel and getting hitched.
Will Violet ever be able to get over the pain and stay married to the man that she loves?
Or will she walk away from him just as he did to her all those years ago?

Hero slept with heroine and then she saw him take another girl into a room! Also, heroine has a child with another man after the night with the hero! Avoid!
According to a GR buddy review They have a night together then she saw him going into a room with OW She has a kid for OM after their night together Yet the blurb says he's been biding his time waiting for his shot to get her back.....I wonder if he's doing this while celibate?? Somebody enlighten me further please
***ETA- Darlene says he was celibate and no sex with OW from above
******** So I took a chance and tried this
1)Way too much in here for this to be a novella?length. 2)We're given the backstory and we know she's hated him for 5 years but when she learns the truth suddenly her feelings never went away?! No way this plot needed much more development 3)The backstory -Apparently he's always loved her and one night they have sex with him taking her virginity. But he's her brother's best friend and they are the only real family he has so he makes her walk out to him going into another room with another girl. He didn't do anything with the girl 4)The h is heartbroken, she eventually has a ONS and ends up pregnant 5)Her daughter needs surgery and her brother confesses the situation to the H who thought she was in a relationship all along, this opens the way for him to go after her Eh not terrible but way too rushed
No cheating During the 5 years it seems he slept with OW, he assumed the h was with the father of her child h had a ONS and got pregnant and. Nothing since then Cute epilogue
DNF. “Hero” slept with heroine and then she saw him take another girl into a room with his hands on her a$$. 🤮 Also, heroine has a child with another man after the night with the “hero”

I loved this book. It was a great story. I had a hard time putting it down. Drew and Violet will have you rooting for them and wanting them to get their happily ever after. It was really fun getting to see how they grow.
Drew was her brother's Cam's best friend and was always over at their house growing up. Violet had always loved him and happily gave him her v-card at a party. A few minutes later Drew broke her heart by going into a bedroom with a different girl. Vi took a while to recover from that and her first time with a different man had even a worse ending. She ended up pregnant and he walked away. Now Vi is a single mother with a beautiful toddler daughter. Rhea her daughter was born with a congenital heart problem and Vi just learned that she will have to have surgery to fix it. Vi will do whatever she can to save her daughter and even takes a second job but then Drew has an offer for her. He will hire her as his assistant . His offer includes a high salary and health insurance. Even though Vi is afraid he will break her heart again, she is desperate enough to agree.
Drew messed up big time with Vi. He has always loved her but that night with her was the best. Afterwards though, he was terrified that her family would disapprove of their relationship and send him away. He felt like he had to chase Vi away for her own sake. Now when he sees Vi with Rhea, he is jealous because he though the father was still in their lives. Then his friend Cam tells him that Vi is single and about Rhea's heart problem. Drew will do anything he can to help them through it. He just has to convince Vi to give him a chance.

Oh, the heat is HOT, and the physical chemistry is captivating so be careful you may just get burned all the heat coming off these pages. There were some "oh no" "oh wow" " what the what" moments and add in uncanny mishaps, and shenanigans the good kind that makes you keep turning the pages till last page has been turned. Years ago Vi gave her heart and body to Drew her brother’s’ best friend only to have him accept the body and stump on her heart in a devastating way. She is a single mom, and she needs help it brings out the protectiveness and he want to convince or show her how much he regrets the way he treated Vi. He wants to show her he is a changed man; how sorry he is but he doesn’t know how to fix he really huge mess up. Throw in some people who don’t want these two together, can she forgive him for his mess up and is there a HEA for these two?
In Sickness and In Health is more than your typical enemies to lovers story. This tale has family, friends, hate, blackmail threats, judgmental people, worry and an abundance of love. From the start of the story you are thrown into the pain of the Violet as she is trying to determine what she needs to do to help her daughter, but she is lucky as she has a loving family around her to help. Violet and Drew relationship is a hard one, as Drew screwed up when they were younger and hurt Violet, now still in love with her he wants to help.
This is an amazingly written story, I am not going to go in great details, but the strength of the family and love will warm your heart, the power the women have in protecting those they love will leave your floored.

I had mixed feelings about this story. While I thought the premise sounded interesting and chose to read this book based on it, there were quite a few things in the story that I thought were just on the edge of acceptance. Initially I liked the story. I thought her actions and reactions were believable and understandable. However she didn’t learn from her actions and her consequences were life changing. It was a book that started out with promise than took a turn towards something else. Overall it was entertaining. I hope that some things get changed as they might turn off other readers.

Enemies to lovers, second chance love, best friends sister, single parent, what am I missing?! This book seriously has it all! I love that Vi is a strong, independent family centered single mom and Drew is a wealthy businessman that wants her BAD, but doesn’t know how to fix his mistake of years ago. They were such a great couple, I laughed, I was mad, I cheered for them. This was a great feel good read I would recommend to anyone looking for a fun read with heart and steam.

I really liked this book and the characters in in. Drew and Violet have known each other for ever and were almost a couple at one time but Drew messed up (I was so glad this had a good explanation and not that he was actually such a jerk when they were younger). Drew has always loved Violet and is ready to make things right and help her with her daughter. I loved how Drew worked to win her over. His character was so great and he obviously loved Violet and her daughter a ton.

In Sickness and In Health by K.L. Humphreys is part of the multi-author Vegas Vows series. This is a second chance at a first love story about Drew and Violet. This is a sweet and entertaining story which I enjoyed. The story-line was interesting and kept my attention and both characters were "adults" who did not just fall into love again immediately, but it does not take long for those old feelings to come back up and the connection to go into overdrive.
Vegas Baby, Reading about the intense feelings in this book, hurt, rejection, abandoned, unloved, forgotten, I welcomed the trials, the emotional drama that follows it. Then there's the unexpected passion from to old lovers. The chemistry between the H and h is undeniable and unexpected. The mistakes if the past lead to a bit of wasted time. Connecting with the characters may come easy in this story, following the plot might not be as easy, is it your basic second chance?

I thought the book blurb sounded interesting but found there was very little plot or storyline, just lots of sex scenes without any relationship to make sense of them. I found the constant use of the F word distracting and totally unnecessary to the story. If I hadn’t committed to read this book I would have given up before I was halfway through! I liked this book. The writing was good and so were the characters. I wish there was a little more build up between Drew and Violet. Especially when she forgave him. It felt a little rushed. But they had great chemistry and it was off the charts. I loved how much Drew loved Violets daughter as if she was his own and in the end she was. I would definitely read more from the author.

This novella was okay, it was a steamy quick read. I really like Cam and would read his story. Drew is a rich businessman. Violet is a strong single mother.

Part of the Vegas Vow series a second chance story that is well written, and held my interest until the end. Drew Jacobs and Violet Washington's story of him coming back into her life. There is drama, a blackmailed, twists, turns, and romance. There is also their friends Jameson and Wendy who are there for them. I enjoyed seeing this story come together. Violet and Drew were each others firstand last love, even so they were apart for 5 years in which she had a baby girl from a one night with somebody else. I enjoyed reading how when they talked and confided on her brother they were able to sort the misunderstandings of 5 years and others and how slowly they mended the heartache to be together. I liked the storyline and the characters.

This is a second chance romance with a bit of a twist. They shared a night together then her shatters her heart. She makes a second mistake with a different man and has consequences. Now she is a single mother and just received some shattering news. This is Drew and Violet's story. It is a fairly short and quick read that is interesting and nicely developed. Overall, strong characters with loads of chemistry.
Drew Jacobs shattered Violet Washington five years ago. He was the love of her life and he broke her heart. All he wants now is to get her to come back to him, whatever that will take. Will she give him a second chance? Will she do to him what he had done and break his heart? Or can they forgive and rebuild the love and trust between them?
Drew & Vi.... Drew made a huge mistake with Vi five years ago and he really regrets what he done. Now Vi has a child little Rhea, who he wishes he was the father of. He learns that little Rhea needs surgery and he soon finds a way for him to help Rhea and hopefully work things out with Vi. The story was sweet. I love these two together. Even some drama in form of blackmail and woman who outsmart men. This was a hit for me!
An amazing second chance romance in the Vegas Vows series! It is engaging, relatable, emotionally deep, funny, witty, and well written. The characters you will love and root for; the chemistry between them is undeniable and off the charts. Definitely recommended!

This was such a sweet second chance romance. Vi and Drew are just perfect for each other and once they get past the hurts of the past, they soar. Definitely worth a read.
This was a cute short second chance romance. I enjoyed the relationship between Drew and Violet. I really liked Violet’s family and how supportive they were. A good way to spend an hour.
What a comeback! After a misunderstanding, Drew is back wooing Violet in this wonderful, easy second-chances read. Engaging characters, a perfect setting, and brilliant narrative all combine to make this novella a good four-star read.
The author has given us a heartwarming story that pulls us into the lives of Vi/Violet, Drew and her daughter, Rhea. The story keeps us turning the pages with a shared past, heartbreak, second chances and steam.
