The unf*c*able preacher’s daughter. Four devastatingly handsome windsurfing champions. And the game that changed their lives forever.
Back in school Ausra acted the good girl, with her conservative clothes and her head always down. Everyone laughed at her, even the four popular brothers. She hated them for it.
But high school is over, and when they meet again, a lot of things have changed, including Asura. The brothers hardly recognize her.
Yet, the brothers still love a challenge and whoever she is, she’s perfect for their game. The rules are simple: their plaything needs to know what she’s in for and needs to agree to play. Will this transformed preacher’s daughter be up for it? And what happens when more than bodies are in play?
Do Ausra and the 4 beach gods stand a chance at love or will the reach of her father and his cult taint and destroy everything?
*This is a dark why choose romance where the heroine doesn’t have to choose between different love interests. It contains sexual situations, mild violence and drug misuse, therefore it’s advised for readers 18+ This book is part of a series and ends in a cliffhanger.

I really enjoyed this fun, sweet read from Melissa Adams and she’s got me on pins and needles waiting for the second book!
I have to be honest, I didn’t automatically love these characters at first. I liked that Ausra had a backbone and made the decision to stand up for herself, but I’m a little surprised she went along with everything as easily as she did. When the guys first presented “the game” I seriously cringed and was sort of cursing Austra for agreeing. BUT, after reading more I do understand her decisions and also had to keep reminding myself that these characters were all really young. As much as I hated them in the beginning, the guys all really grew on me and I was totally crushing on them at the end, right along with Austra. This is a testament to Melissa’s great writing as I typically don’t change my mind about characters so quickly!
Overall, this was a terrific read with good writing and an interesting story. The book does leave us on a cliffhanger and I’m excited to see what happens next!
DNF at 65%, as much as I hate not finishing books I start, I just couldn't handle the cringe. The brothers are so annoying, there's literally nothing likeable about them, while FMC is just plain stupid. I quit at the >>shaving<< part. 🤢💀
Sexy athletes: ✔️ Darkness in the form of a megalomaniac: ✔️
I was so excited to meet Ausra. She had a normal childhood, so the change of her father to strict “preacher” is hard for her to handle. It doesn’t help that she is ostracized at school for the way her father makes her look and dress.
This book shows us Ausra’s development into womanhood, away from her father’s overbearing hand. She slowly learns to trust the boys that clearly pointed out how she was different the last time she saw them. Lots happen in this book. Lots of backstory that slow comes to the forefront, and twists life up for Ausra.
The darkness in this book- the mental and emotional abuse of this “preacher”, it’s hard. I myself grew up with strict parents, so I can kind of relate, but I experienced nothing like this. The hooks that the abuse have in Ausra is painful to watch, but she is an inspiration, strong and knowledgeable enough to know what is in her head, and what isn’t.
And Ausra learns a lot about her sexuality in this book. It’s def not a slow burn story, we see Ausra experimenting with several of the guys. But it’s sweet too. You’ll have to read to learn just how this summer is progressing.
And then the cliffhanger.... I think I know what has happened, but that doesn’t make my heart hurt any less. 😫😫😫
This book is why Melissa Adams is one of my favorites and go to authors. The way Melissa is able to pull you into the story and make you feel like you are living with not only Ausra, but the guys she makes a pack with is just amazing. You get to know them, feel what they are. And even if you want to smack someone upside the head (yes I am looking at you mister), a part of you wants to hug him too. You want to know more, you need to know more. This story took twists and turns that I was not expecting and I can't wait to see what happens next
Wow wow & wow!!! Melissa Adams keeps delivering hits! Ausra is great & her guys are hot as hell! However, that cliffhanger ending about killed me. Can’t wait for part #2!!!
THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK: The Pact GENRE: Reverse Harem AUTHOR: Melissa Adams TROPE: contemporary romance, reverse harem, dark romance, polyamorous TYPE: The Preacher’s Daughter #1 POV: Multiple POV MY RATING: 5.0 Stars
Ausra is the youngest daughter of a new age religious leader. When her older sister MC got pregnant out of wedlock, their parents imposed some very strict rules and guidelines on Ausra’s life. Ausra had to dress like a new age pilgrim and wasn’t allowed to wear any makeup. As a result, Ausra was ridiculed at the private academy that she attended by the four most popular guys in school. Her look and overall demeanor had her labeled as unf*c*able by the men at her school. Fast forward six months, Ausra has left her parents’ house to live with her shunned sister and her baby niece. While covering a shift for her sister at a bar, Ausra runs into the four bullies from her high school who don’t recognize her with her new look. The four guys love to share women and have turned it into a game. They meet Ausra and she’s the first woman that they’ve all been attracted to since they last played their game in London. They want to approach her to play their game but quickly change the rules when they find out how inexperienced she is. The goal is one summer, the 5 of them together and at the end they go their separate ways. Can the 5 of them survive the summer and get out with no strings attached?
I was told by a good friend of mine that I had to read this book. This is the first book by Melissa Adam’s that I’ve read and it did not disappoint. I don’t think I could point out one flaw within the story. I like how everything was paced and everything felt really believable. The four men in the story (Bode, Kelley, Ashton, & Shepherd) all have different personalities and make Ausra come alive and really embrace her new self. With the years that she spent living under her father’s teachings, it’s hard for her to overcome the brainwashing and think for herself. The amount of times she wanted to feel ashamed for being noticed or for being wanted was really heartbreaking. I felt that Melissa wrote a book about a very sensitive topic and she handled it well. I love that she wrote male characters who spoke about their insecurities and didn’t act like touch macho men the entire time. The relationship was new territory for everyone and there was a fear of getting burned.
This book does end on a cliffhanger and it was one that I didn’t see coming. I have some theories about Kelley that I’m going to hold onto until the next book is released. Definitely check out this book.
Ausra is “the preachers daughter”, her father is a cult leader and just an all round terrible man. When his demands for her become too much she leaves to start living the life she wants away from his control. Kelley, Ashton, Bode and Shep are Windsurfing champions and the all round popular guys at school with a preference for sharing their conquests. While at school they don’t pay any attention to Ausra besides thinking her to be a freak. Once she is free of her father and able to dress like a normal 18 year old she catches their attention only they have no idea who she is. After she agrees to join in with their games which soon take an interesting turn, she knows she needs to come clean about who she really is but will the boys still accept her or want nothing to do with the preachers daughter.
This book is well written and had me gripped from the start, the cult aspects are equally fascinating and terrifying. It’s enemies to lovers but it’s only really applicable to one of the H’s who makes rude comments about h and despises her father. I have a theory about Kelley’s hatred for Ausra’s dad and can’t wait to see how it plays out.
TW include abusive cult culture, attempted rape and some mild violence.
Melissa Adam's you've done it again, I found I couldn't put it down and loved how the story just seemed to flow as things developed in to something more. I found Ausra so sweet and caring even with what she has to deal with, while being strong and learning from her sexy guys who help her gain confidence she didn't have before. I loved the chemistry that went on thought out the story with her sexy guys and how they were so sweet with words of endearment like baby, Smokey and prity girl and I think Kelley was my favourite of them all with his take charge manner but also showing another side to him that we see later in the story . This had everything that I wanted in a story with plenty of suspense, Drama and while being funny at time. It was super hot as Ausra explores new things with her guys and Wow what a shock it was leading to the end. How could you leave use hanging like that I really didn't see it coming and i really need to know what will happen next.
This is an amazing new book by Melissa Adams. I love her writing and have loved all of her books, but I have to say, this is definitely my new favorite!
Ausra is the preacher’s daughter, controlled at home, an outcast and made fun of at school. But what happens when school is over, and the four hot Windsurfing Champs from her school meet the new Ausra? Let the games begin!
I loved all of the fantastic characters, I am a real sucker for deliciously damaged characters and this book has them in spades! The storyline is incredible! It’s so hard to put down! Oh, and the sexy scenes, OMG, HOT! And let’s not for get about that “what the heck, I need more” cliffhanger!
I highly recommend this book and absolutely consider it a Must Read! I am very excited to find out where the story will go next!
4.5/5⭐ I really enjoyed book one of this reverse harem, contemporary duet, told in multiple POVs. I really like the storyline the female main character is getting out of a cult situation her family put her in growing up. Her father being the cult leader (once a motivational speaker)
In her new life but in the same town the fmc knowling begins a game to explore in ways she wasnt able to before with guys from her old school. Guys she previously had heard talk about her and the way she used to dress in the past not recognizing her. All interested in her and having a game going to share and it becomes a summer affair. With lots of interesting things occuring from there really. I enjoyed this read and looking forward to the second book in this duet.
Omg how could you end it their Melissa I need answers! Like all of Melissa's books this one was amazing, I really enjoyed the storyline as I haven't read one like it before. The first couple of chapters the guys are jerks but it doesn't last long. Ausra is an outcast after being forced to act and dress a certain way due to how her father is. After him turning abusive she moves in with her sister and niece and dresses and acts how she wants so the guys do not realise she is the Preachers daughter and get to know her. I won't say more as I don't want to give to much away. But this is an amazing read and I cannot wait for book two!
I have read almost all of this authors books and this one is one of my favorite so far . The ending is a cliff hanger but so worth the read. I was getting bored with the same story line in the bully books so this was a nice change. Love Ash and Shep. Ausra is a interesting character I like that she isn't whiny like alot of the female main characters she is a strong character but still sheltered in her life but she doesn't sound ditzy when she doesn't understand things. This book is a very light dark story line. Its also a fast pace book. I really enjoyed it and looking forward to the next one.
This is my first Melissa Adams novel and wow loved loved loved it. This book brings up alot of issues that women go through at the hands of men. What Ausra's father does and says to her and her sister is horrendous. But no matter what happens she doesn't let it bring her down. It was Heartbreaking, Captivating, beautiful and emotional. Not only do you have Ausra, shep, Kelley, Ashton and Bode story you also get her sisters story as well which all ties in together. So many shocking moments and twists I didn't see coming and that ending WHAT???? I need book 2 now. Absolutely Phenomenal highly recommend
This book is absolutely amazing, there are so many ways you can go with this topic and I love the way this book is going. At first you see the guys as a bunch of typical A holes, but as you get to know them you see that they aren't what they may seem at all. Ausra is at first the obedient daughter, she gets made fun of by the guys in school because of how her parents force her to be, but when she finally has her freedom she still chastises herself about everything from what she wears to how she feels because she has been that controlled her whole life. I love this book and can't wait to see where this series goes next. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
💙 Best friends 💙 Friends with benefits 💙 Crazy secrets 💙 Playing for first 💙 Eggplant count of 4
Trigger Warning there is an attempted rape scene nothing graphic and not the guys and there is a cult so mental abuse from some of their parents comes up
Holy surfing God's I didn't know windsurfing was that hot!! Holy panty melting gods you better hope you have batteries because man dose of get steamy. I felt like I got hit with the feels it was intense y'all!! I need more and I need it now! Also I'm going to go cry over that cliffy and impatiently wait for part two.
WOW, I needed a good book this week and this was everything I didn't know I wanted. What an awesome read!!!!!
This was my first Melissa Adams book and I confess it won't be my last, I've found a new 1-click author. From the first chapter I was obsessed, I couldn't put the book down till I hit the cliff hanger ending, thank goodness I had book 2 ready to go. This isn't a duet where you can read book 1 and delay reading book 2, you are going to want to continue reading.
The story is well written, the plot hot and dirty, the characters wicked, everything about this book is steamy with added drama.
Family is the people you choose as your own. The ones who are there for you
Wow! This book was something different in a somewhat reverse harem setting. Ausra is unlike any other female character I have read about. That being said, I loved this story. Not really enemies but not friends either, Aura makes an impact on the lives of four hot and sexy wind suffers. I hate her father and the way he treats her and her sister. BTW, where is McKayla?
So ready to start the second book in this series. Will Ausra attend college or does her father have as much control as he thinks? Cult?
OMG!! That ending has me screaming! I can't wait for more. The Pact is amazing. This story is twisted and unpredictable. There are so many people that I want to slap and I have so many questions. Ausura is a unique character and I felt so many different emotions reading her story. She's intriguing and I am so glad she was able to leave, but now I hope that it wasn't all for nothing. The boys Kelley, Bode, Ashton and Shep already are tugging at my heart. I'm so invested with this story and cannot wait for more to come.
Absolutely amazing book! Ausra has gone through so much in recent years with her fanatical father and pushover mother. The concepts they pushed were appalling and Ausra showed so much strength and resilience. She and her MC boys all went to high school together much naturally they were on opposite ends of the popularity spectrum. The boys and Ausra meet after she’s left the house and has started to bloom into who she is. The damage by her father has run deep though but the “pact” she has with her boys helps that. There’s a cliffhanger that will have you chomping at the bit for more!!
Oh dear lord what a wild ride of a story. When I started reading this ooh was my blood boiling for what Ausra was having to endure granted I know this wasn't real but damn the way the arthur described the things happening phew talk about blood pressure going up lol, but it all changed when she met 4 guy's Kelley, Bode, Shep, Ashton and the pact she agreed to. That's all I'm giving out and to say if you like those dirty RH stories where there's just no choosing you need this book in your life it's sooo damn good.
Ughhhh, what a great book!! Had all the feels, a repressed preacher's daughter who fights to be who she wants to be. When the guys who don't recognize her from school finally show her some attention, things get interesting to say the least!! An interesting game of firsts is in play, and they didn't expect hearts to be on the line. But with secrets coming to light, things head south quickly. I can't wait to get the next book, I need to know what happens after that cliffhanger!!
OMG this book is absolutely amazing. Well thought out plot with some real eye openers. Not everyone or everything is what it appears to be and you never know quite what goes on behind closed doors. Loved getting to know all the characters and really can’t wait for Twisted Sinners to find out what happened. There was an amazing cliffhanger so I was left with questions that I need answered.
I would highly recommend this book, definitely on my must read list.
Ausra is one of those characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. She decides to change her life for the better and her strength really shines through. I love how much she loves her sister and how open she is to the guys. I can’t wait to find out how each of these relationships develop. Some are going to take A LOT more work than others!!😂 Side note.... her interactions with the guys are 🔥🔥🔥🔥 my husband really reaped the benefits!🤣🤣🤣
I love all of this authors books, but this may be my favorite. I think it’s the touches of darkness mixed in with the amazing growth of our main character. The backstory is told so well and really helps develop the story. I love that our girl overcomes so much and how she slowly learned to trust the guys and herself. There’s is good heat to this one, too. I feel very connected to these characters and am so looking forward to where this goes next.
All I can say is Wow! This book was so good. Melissa Adams' best work yet. To say that Ausra is sheltered would be the be the understatement of the century. She is the teenage daughter of a cult leader who is obsessed with female purity. Kelley, Bode, Ash and Shep are Windsurfing Gods of the school whom she has always secretly crushed on. When they meet again after h.s. sparks fly.
This was a fantastic read! I devoured this in one sitting and immediately pre-ordered book 2. The characters are compelling, real, and super relatable. I loved all the personal growth the FMC goes through and the fact that she still has that voice in her head that tries to bring her down but she's strong enough to tell it to shut the heck up!
This book was absolutely awesome. It had me sucked in from the first page. Those two girls have put through so much from their parents especially their horrible father that is unbelievably selfish and evil. The guys were jerks in the beginning . I can’t wait for book 2
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Melissa Adams I loved this book. I loved Ausra and the guys and the whole premise behind the story. I love watching the "friendship" develop and the cluelessness of the guys. That ending ...omg...totally hooked for the next book
