Her Shifter Harem's Babies #3

Omega Phoenix: Pursued

Rate this book
Cyra has fled to relative safety with two of her Alphas, but her other two Alphas have gone missing…

Everything in Cyra’s life seems to have gone wrong since she attended the Night Gala, an exclusive event for rich shifters, a few weeks ago. She escaped the party with her four fated Alphas, hydra Zack, griffin Spence, cerberus Max and centaur Liam in tow. Only to go on the run from the paparazzi and Cyra’s parents as news articles about them started to appear. When Cyra finally found some control back over her life, her parents sued Max for defamation because he dared to try to expose her parents’ lies.
With Max back in his hometown trying to defend himself and expose even more of Cyra’s parents’ lies, Zack at his side to make sure he makes it back alive, things fall apart even further. The morning that Max is supposed to show up in court, the apartment that Cyra, Spence and Liam are hiding in is attacked, forcing Cyra to transform into her phoenix shape for the first time in decades as she desperately tries to protect Liam and they barely make it out alive. When a local centaur clan takes them in, the three find out that Max and Zack also tried to get to safety, only that it backfired and the two are now missing.

Winter is approaching quickly, which makes safe travel in the mountains where the centaur clan lives complicated. Add to that that Cyra is pregnant with four babies, the whole world now seems to be searching for the near-legendary Omega Phoenix for their own goals and Max and Zack could be anywhere right now. The five mates are doing everything they can to find each other and make it through the winter alive, but will it be enough?

This is the third book in the Her Shifter Harem’s Babies series, a paranormal Omegaverse reverse harem #WhyChoose story. This book may include any of these elements: steamy scenes, ‘I need tissues NOW’ moments, cries of ‘why, oh, why’ and cliffhangers that make you bite your nails (and curse the author).

Layla Heart loves sexy romances and has a particular soft spot for broken boys and their damaged girls. When she’s not reading or writing steamy stories, she loves to nap with her two cats, preferably under a fluffy blanket, and play videogames. She has studied literature and creative writing but often finds that the couple of classes she took on coding are much more of a help in this new adventure as an author.

This is the third book in this series. I have loved Layla Heart's previous series. This series I am on the fence about. I was hoping that this book would focus less on the crying and deep introspection of the previous books and more on the story line because the premise of the book is great. Plus I was hoping that the book would give me some answers, but those same questions about will Cyra and her mates live happily ever after are still unanswered. There is a new character introduced who is determined to have Cyra as her omega. Max and Zack were kidnapped in the previous book and this one details their captivity. There is one LONG steamy scene and it ends on a cliffhanger. I guess that I just like more action with take charge characters and less what am I gonna do moments.. I am not saying that I didn't like this story, I did, but I honestly like more story and less dithering. If you like books that focus on the emotional, then I would recommend this book to you.

OMG! This is exciting!
In this installment, the odyssey continues for Cyra, Spence, and Liam as they finally are reunited with Max and Zack. Together they must fight a shifter war against the Phoenix Alpha who is trying to claim her as Cyra is coming into her own powers with her need to protect her mates. Pursued has action, drama, envy, danger, betrayal, lies, steamy chemistry, and the love of fated mates. This series just keeps getting better and better as you wait for the next installment. I highly recommend this series.

I've been looking forward for this book a long time. I wasn’t able to read it when it came out due to personal reasons but wow is this a must read series for me! Escaped with two of her mates but the 9ther two missing. Can Cyra find her happy ever after? Will her parents stop being hard on her and trying to get their way? Unlikely but Cyra fights for what she's worth and shifts into her phoenix. This leads to all sorts of complications on its own. A true rollercoaster!

Keeps going

The story continues with all of them finally making a stand toward the numerous threats surrounding them. They really don't n know how to do that but they r trying their best to come up with a plan. Just when they think they r going to make a difference, one of the threats they r dealing with decides to show up. Will they make it through all of this unscathed?

I almost DNF’d this book because it felt like nothing happened and I didn’t even get any spice for my trouble. I did love all of the characters but I am still confused about the whole alpha, beta, omega thing. At first it seemed like all Alpha’s are male but there are female ones? And how to betas happen? I’ll never know 🤷‍♀️

It felt like this book dragged on forever, and I kept waiting for them to stop thinking and planning and worrying and just get to the action. I was disappointed with this one and I'm not sure if I'll continue the series- if I do, it will be to satisfy my curiosity about how the remaining loose ends are tied up.

Lots of Action

A lot happens in this third installment, maybe at a pace that makes it hard to fully grasp the development of the characters as well as the plot. Still, it's great to have the third part of this story and I eagerly await the next!

Dear heavens! Poor Cyra and her mates can't have a break? So much happens in this book but it doesn't at the same time. And the cliffhanger? Layla wants us to have a heart attack. Anyway, the book was hot but the slow pace sometimes drove me nuts. But I loved the book as a whole.
